“I need a nerd. Seriously, I am failing just about every class. Anyone up for tutoring?”
“Don’t have the time nor do I feel like doing it. Though I suppose you can ask some students of NYU, pretty sure that tutoring could give them an extra credit point.”
“So, this old lady came up to me today, asked me who I was. Of course I was kind of suspicious, but I introduced myself to her and she basically rose a finger and said ‘Ha!’ as if she had been right all along and then walked off. Honestly, I’m still kind of confused by it.”
“Hey, stranger, did you miss me?” Amber asked as she sat down on the spot next to him.
“Won’t you look at that, if it isn’t the one and only Amber Dawson,” his head tilted to her side, his lips curving into a smile. “Only a little.”
Cradling a cup of coffee in hands, Roman gave his books a glance. Somehow he hadn’t felt like staying at his own place, so instead he was now sat in the lobby of the pent house, silently enjoying the hot beverage.
Liza shrugged. “Mom called me last week and was nagging about how my major isn’t a real major and I just didn’t feel like hearing it again.”
“Sounds like her alright,” he rolled his eyes, reminded why he hadn’t dared to speak up against his parents.
Liza shrugged. “I probably should have done that.” She paused. “It’s a little late now, oh well.” Liza said. “Did they ask about me?”
“Probably,” he gave a light nod, biting the inside of his cheek briefly. “They did actually. But it wasn’t like they were counting on it anyway.”
Liza laughed and looked over to her brother. “Thank you.” She said with a smirk. “Oh no, my clothes got dirty… mother wouldn’t be happy.” she laughed once, not caring what her parents thought, she just liked to be adventurous. “Speaking of her, have you seen them recently?” Liza asked walking around the large drain and back to Roman.
Stopping himself from rolling his eyes, Roman pushed his hands into the pockets of his navy coat. “I visited them a few days ago, figured I should wish them a happy new year and all that,” he admitted.
“Please.” Liza said rolling her eyes. “Like I care what she thinks.” She shook her head. “Ready?” She asked smirking. “1….2…..3…!” She shouted while she jumped, it was a far drop and a far jump but she jumped and landed right on the edge, taking a tumble and landing on the hard ground on the other side in a pit of laughter. “I told you I could do it!”
His gaze faltered briefly as he watched her, worry washing over him briefly as the girl leaped. Though when she managed to land, a breath escaped him. “Well done,” he replied with a sarcastic tone, not certain what she was trying to prove,
“Do you have no faith in me, Rome?” She asked smirking. “Watch and learn, bro.” She said as she lined herself up to jump across the large opening over the sewer drainage.
“Did I ever?” He quipped, watching her, almost certain that she would fail. “Don’t be so stupid. If mom finds out, I assure you she’ll be pissed. Don’t want you ruining expensive clothing like that.”

“Or maybe it’s because you’re chicken.” The girl cocked her head with a smirk.
“I’m pretty sure we both know I’m not, I’m just simply not about making myself look like an absolute fool. You’ll fall, Eliza, I assure you.”
“Are you just going to stand there or are you going grow a pair and join me?”
“I think I’m content with standing here and watching you make a fool out of yourself.”

Evangeline narrowed her eyes at his statement, she refused to let her age show so she bit her tongue and let his insult pass. Something she would never do if it were anyone else at all.
“You don’t look half bad yourself, Roman” Van stated, sliding her arm into his as they entered the elevator. The funny thing about Van was when you looked at her she practically dripped in confidence so when they finally entered the crowded party, all eyes were on the two.
Her statement was awarded with a cocky grin, the compliment welcomed. “Thank you darling,” it was the polite thing to do, nothing more, nothing less.
Feeling the eyes of many others on them, Roman knew he had made the right choice to bring Evangeline for that evening. Grabbing two glasses of champagne from one of the waiter’s plates, Roman handed on to the brunette with a charming smile. “So, I suppose we should greet your parents hm?”

Roman and Evangeline had a troubling relationship with one another, some may even look at it as abusive. Nonetheless, Van always landed back in his lap and he in hers. Evil loves evil and that was clear.
“Of course I do, I always do” The girl replied, turning to face her date. “My parents are going to there, need I tell you to behave yourself?
Roman was the perfect date to any function her parents were attending because though he may be as cold as ice, he possessed a certain charm boys her age couldn’t even muster. Not to mention he was one of the best looking beaus on The Upper East Side.
Pushing his hands in his pockets, he allowed a smile to slowly creep onto his lips. The mere idea that her parents were attending allowed him to have the upper hand in the entire situation, knowing that she would like to remain daddy’s little pride.
“Don’t act too cocky Evangeline, it doesn’t suit you.” His statement was entirely hypocritical, being completely vain himself. Though, despite this face, Roman had allowed tried to keep that at a low whenever it came to trying to impress others.
“Now, let’s go, I’m sure people are waiting,” offering an arm to her, Roman gave a charming smile, ready to guide her towards the elevator to reach the roof of the penthouse.
“Yes I am, I’m also Greta Kensington.”
“Greta, sure. Nice to meet you.”
“Course it does. Now I think it’s time you introduce yourself.”
“Demanding. The name is Roman Alexander.”
