Delilah watched as the older woman made a scene. While it wasn’t something she would have blatantly done in a crowded room, the headache she was already sporting, made her side with the older woman. She waited until the coffee shop patrons went back to their coffee before she looked over at the girl. “You know she has a point right? Because you can’t control your daughter, doesn’t mean we have to tolerate it.”
Rikki took a breath to calm herself and nodded. “I understand it is annoying.” She said trying to reason with the woman. “I apologize but like I said I didn’t have another option and she’s fine now.” She said, glancing to a calm Pippa now. “Can I pay for your coffee as a sorry?”
“Thank you thank you,” Brennan nodded with a laugh. “I’m off to find a manager. I need someone to take this to the next level.”
Rikki laughed and nodded. “Make sure you get one, someone will want to snatch up your talent.”

Sylvia raked her fingers through her hair once more at the sound of the woman’s question about photographing. She licked her lips and nodded “I do, Do you guys want to do a consultation one day?” She asked biting her lip before nodding “I had a lot to realize. I can’t live life with regrets or hatred. People aren’t here forever.”
Rikki watched her and smiled, “Yeah, I think that would be great. I’m sure it would make Jason happy.” She told her with a nod. “Are you sure you’d want to?” She asked her, wanting her to be okay with it. Rikki nodded when she talked about people weren’t there forever. “Living life without regrets and hatred makes for a happier life.” She told Sylvia with a small gentle smile. “It took me a long time to realize that too.”
Rikki was sitting at a table in the cafe with a cup of coffee and Pippa in a high car beside her. Like how quickly thunder rolls, Pippa starting crying and screaming breaking the silence and peace of the cafe. Rikki had her purse, computer, and iPad all sitting on the chair next to her so she couldn’t just run out with Pippa to try and ease the other cafe goers. As Rikki picked up Pippa and began bouncing her in her arms she began to quiet after a few minutes. But just as she did a woman came marching over to Rikki. “This is a cafe, not a daycare. That inconvenience disturbs everyone here and will not be tolerated.” Rikki was shocked and looked back at the woman. “That..” She motioned to Pippa. “Has a name and is a human being. She is also my daughter and I’m sorry that she interrupted your $5 coffee but I didn’t have another option. I took care of her and it didn’t seem to bother anyone else.” Rikki said defending herself, drawing the attention of the people around them.

Sylvia nodded before making her an ice water, sliding it across the bar “I can imagine. Wedding planning is a disaster, thats why I only photograph them” she said chuckling lightly before shrugging “It was good. Saw a lot of family, spent a lot of time reflecting on life and how I wanted to live from here on out”
Rikki smiled and took a sip from the water as Sylvia spoke. She laughed gently and nodded, “It is way more stressful than I ever imagined. Wait, we don’t have a photographer yet, do you still photograph weddings?” She asked realizing it might be weird. “Sorry, if that’s weird, I just-...” Rikki shook her head trailing off. “What did you find?” Rikki asked about how she wanted to live life.

“Its nice to see you too Rikki” She said to her before she shrugged “Thanks, but probably not” She teased before looking behind her “What can I get you by the way? Did I miss much?” She asked grabbing a glass from the bar.
Rikki smiled and nodded. “You do, look good.” She told her again with another grin. “Oh, just a water.” She told her having not been drinking that night. Rikki hadn’t been feeling the greatest that day so she was sticking to water. “Not much. A lot crazy Rikki from being overwhelmed with planning.” She laughed once. “Other than that, not much. What about you? How was your... trip?”

Sylvia smiled looking down at Rikki before raking her fingers through her hair slowly. “Oh yeah. I got back a few weeks ago” She told the woman before she sat up, bringing her eyes away from the screen to look at the brunette in front of her. She had no hard feelings towards Rikki anymore, she didnthave the time or the energy. “Ive been laying pretty low honestly”
Rikki smiled at Sylvia and wondered why she had left but wasn’t going to overstep any boundaries. “It’s nice to see you.” She told her honestly and continuing. “You look good, by the way.” Rikki nodded with a smile. “How’ve you been?”

Sylvia small body looked like it was being swallowed in the oversized pittsburgh penguins jersey she wore behind the bar. Leaning over the bar she was looking at the game. Sylvia often bonded with regulars by doing this, being invested and interested. She loved all pittsburgh sports, with the exception of the Seattle mariners. She felt a small tap on her shoulder “Hey! I’m watching the game here, Wait till a time out bud” She said offering a playful smile over her shoulder.
Rikki hadn’t gone into the bar with the intention of drinking, a couple of the faculty members from school were going out and Rikki had agreed to go with them. She enjoyed her coworkers and sat at a table with some of them. Rikki wanted a glass of water and headed to the bar, looking for the nearest bartender. She taped one on the shoulder and when she turned around Rikki was surprised. “Sylvia?” Rikki asked. “Hey... I didn’t know you were in town.” She said, her lips turning into a smile.
✉ || ALEX ⇄ Rikki
Alex: God I wish I had been more drunk last night so I couldn't remember last night. At least it'd make the hangover worth it.
Rikki: Was it that bad?
Rikki: What happened?
She was still quite frustrated for what had happened in the morning, leaving court and being practically cornered by two masked guys had been traumatic. What had left the brunette in shock all day wasn’t the fact they’d robbed her phone and some money, but it was the bit where they had slammed her against a wall when she refused to collaborate and simply twisted her arm the wrong way. After a rather long wait in the emergency room, Addison had left with a stitch on her forehead and her right arm slinged up. Pushing the door open with quite difficulty, she looked at her company apologetically before she let out a heavy sigh. “I didn’t mean to run late, I know we were supposed to meet earlier but… uh, I got robbed today.”
Rikki shook her head as the woman apologized for being late. She didn’t mind. She had some time to herself and she was perfectly fine waiting and reading the book that was in her bag. “It’s okay.” She told her with a small smile. “Is everything alright?”
“Okay, please be honest.” Adelaide craned her neck, trying to look at the skirt she was trying on. “Does this make my ass look weird?”
Rikki looked at the girl and smiled, “You look beautiful.” She said genuinely.
“If I fall I will catch you, I’ll be waiting… time after time. Time after time… time after time…” Brennan had the perfect amount of drinks to get too into the song he was singing while still being able to read the words on the karaoke screen. “Oh that was good, I could feel it,” he nodded at the first face he saw once he jumped off the stage.
Rikki couldn’t help but laugh as she watched Brennan up on the stage and when he came off she couldn’t help but smile. “That was pretty great.” She told him with a grin. “Definitely superstar material.”
“I’ve decided that I am not meant to have a pet. This is the third fish that died on me this month. Either I’m cursed or these thing are pulling a Nemo on me so they can escape to the ocean or in this case Illinois water pipes.”
Rikki smiled and shook her head. “I swear, fish are harder to keep alive than dogs.” She told her.
“Unless you’re Dr. Matthews too, I think you might be holding my coffee.” Riley nearly mumbled to the person leaning against the pick up counter. “This barista only started a week ago, it usually takes about two for them to learn all the regulars orders,” her voice was only slightly louder now as she looked up at the stranger in hopes that they’d hand over her much needed caffeine.
Rikki hadn’t realized she had picked up the wrong coffee until she heard the voice. “Oh... I’m sorry.” She spoke softly and held the coffee out. “I’m so sorry, I thought it was mine.” She smiled. “Here you go.”
Val’s entire face showed the gleeful look that she had on. It was hours spent trying to get it down right. “Oh my goodness, really? Thank you so much!” She was practically bouncing off the walls. “Thank you coming by the way I know I pulled you from wedding prep.”
Rikki smiled. “It’s really okay.” She told the woman. “I needed to be pulled away before I went crazy.” She laughed softly. “Seriously, Val. It’s amazing.” She told her again.
