I know. I’m angry because I understand, not because I don’t.

elliotxspencer:
“I hope this isn’t like…a cruel attempt to prank me. Not that I’d be surprised. You sure you don’t have video cameras set up on my bathroom mirror?” He was SORT of teasing, rubbing the back of his neck as he shakes his head, “I’ll tell you how it goes.”
“People do that sort of thing before giving speeches and presentations, so why not with pick-up lines too?” He smirked, shrugging. As the other mentioned video cameras, however, his expression twisted into that of distaste. “That’s fucking weird, man. No way.”
elliotxspencer:
“A peach? Huh. That’s a new fruit comparison.” The male said with a nervous chuckle, shaking his head, “Yeah, maybe I’ll give it a shot. Though if it fails miserably, I blame you.”
“I’ll take the blame then, okay,” he replied, offering a quiet laugh in return. “Just let me know how it goes, because if it works I may try it out myself.”
sadie-blackwell:
“Yeah of course I know.” Sadie nodded. “Apology accepted.”
There was a pause, that which offered an almost uncomfortable space in time. It was, however, accompanied by a growing grin that allowed a salty chuckle to slip from between pale lips as he shook his head.
“You’re disgusting.”
sadie-blackwell:
“You say?” Sadie asked, of course she knew it wasn’t a compliment. “That was exacly what I was going for. So thanks darling.”
“‘You say’? The fuck are you talking about? Do you mean ‘you don’t say’?” The Ukrainian cocked a brow, narrowing his eyes in slight. “Because what you just said is like asking what I--Wait, silly me. Of course you know. My apologies.”
letshavealittle-moore:
Frankie brought the glass to her lips and took a mouthful before she placed it back on the bar. “Hmm I guess that whole don’t judge a book the cover thing is true.” Frankie said with a grin as she ran a finger over the rim of her glass.
“Well at least I know you middle name. Do I get chance of finding out your first name? or is that all part of the mystery?” Frankie asked with a gentle smile. Frankie shook her head. “I just meant in the general sense. You know, somethings should just stay a mystery. I have my secrets, and so do you . I respect that.”
“Regardless of it being true or not, I still don’t pick up books with ugly covers.” If there was a shot at her in there somewhere, he chose to ignore it, just as he hoped she would. As she inquired about his first name, the man couldn't help but raise both brows, offering a shrug before providing an answer, despite how rather uninformative it was outside of the general gist of things.
“Рoмaн, but for the sake of everyone who doesn’t speak Ukrainian, I go by Roman,” he answered, eyes tracing the features of her face, waiting for the seemingly traditional looks of shock or heightened interest to color the crevices and spaces of her pale skin. He steered clear of the comments on mystery, realizing by doing so only increased the perhaps obvious notion that he was a man created by more mystery than openness.
victoria-chandler:
“Now, I don’t feel so weird about obsessively making “to do” lists every morning. I even write down the exact time I’m supposed to be doing something. I use a regular notepad, though. I’m not fancy enough for note cards. I’m also not very good at sticking to my schedule, because I’m sure I hadn’t planned to wander around doing nothing at 3pm, but here I am.”
“That’s far too specific for me. Setting times for, like, cleaning a toilet at 4:12 PM? Forget about it. I’d probably be busy making a mess of it instead.” A pause. He offered a fizzling smile. “Okay, maybe not actually something like that, but there’s no way I’d be able to keep to something that strict. If it’s not business related or something along those lines then it’ll be lucky if it gets done at all. Like, I’m pretty sure this is the third day I’ve told myself it’s time to go grocery shopping. Can’t live off of cereal forever.”
elliotxspencer:
“Oh man, really? That’s HARD to believe because that was pretty bad. And I’m pretty sure I’m blushing like a tomato.” Elliot points out with a nervous grin, cheeks flaming before cocking his head, “Practice in the mirror? Does that work?”
“I wouldn’t say a tomato. Maybe… a peach?” The foreigner stifled a laugh, shrugging. “Like I said, I have no idea. It could possibly make things worse for all I know, so practice with caution, I guess.”
victoria-chandler:
“Oh. Ignore me, then. I’m an idiot. Blind, too, apparently. What’s with the note cards, though? Are you studying?”
“I think better when I write on note cards--I mean, when it comes to planning things out. Writing stuff down on a piece of paper is far too intimidating... I guess. I dunno. Note cards are my go-to.”
elliotxspencer:
“Oh my god…I can’t believe I just said that aloud. I’m pretty sure I’m the absolute WORST at flirting. Any tips?”
“I’ve had people try to pick me up with worse, trust me,” the Ukrainian smirked, shaking his head. “Maybe practice in the mirror next time? ... I mean, I don’t know if it’ll help, but what the hell, right?”
sadie-blackwell:
I am flattered.
“I’m sorry to break it to you, but that was definitely not a compliment. But, if you are going for the whole ‘I’m an insensitive asshole’ vibe, then--okay--you definitely get an A plus.”
victoria-chandler:
“Are you… wait. Are you taking a picture of me?”
“Well considering this is a pack of note cards, I’m going to have to say ‘no’.”
max-williams:
Maxine let her eyes fall back onto Roman. He had been far more interesting to her, than the random people sitting around the cafe. He was the strong, silent type and wasn’t too hard on the eyes either. She had found him to be different than most of the men she had been around. And she had found inspiration in him. Inspiration to explore her creativity and composure of songs. Something she really couldn’t explain and only made sense in her mind
“If you didn’t roll your eyes at at least one thing while I’m sitting here, I’d have to ask if you were sick. This world offers plenty of ignorance to those who take the time to notice it.” Case and point, as a man, too preoccupied with his cell phone, walked into the door out front, “Like that.” She quickly shifted her focus to Roman just to see his reaction. However, she managed to turn her head just in time to catch a subtle, softer change in his features, rather than what she was expecting.
“I’ve honestly been better. I’m not sure how you feel about late night television, but I made an unwanted appearance on a show that focuses on spreading drama and lies about people rather than focusing on the good they put out into the world.” She sighed and looked away, if only to see if the man ever made it inside and to focus on something other than her own embarrassment.
“You know what they say: ‘An eye roll a day keeps the doctor away’,” he mumbled in reply, dark eyes flickering around the establishment as he placed his free hand over the open pages of the journal. Slowly, he drew it shut, gaze hovering back on the woman as he found his attention resting on her in an almost appreciative sort of manner.
The past week, if nothing else, had been difficult and rather stress-inducing, more so than the normal sort of rubbish he endured. It bothered him that her attention strayed, skipping around the room as if he was not quite worthy of holding her gaze for more than a few moments. In truth, he had little to be frustrated about, for he wasn’t necessarily one who liked to be the center of people’s attention or focus, but there was something about her demeanor on this day in particular...
Ah. There it was.
And so came the required eye roll, the lung emptying sigh that so often accompanied the action as the Ukrainian brought himself to look at the ceiling and back to the woman.
“People are shit, what can I say,” he grumbled. “They’ll do anything if they can get to dimes to rub together from it. Besides, isn’t that the kind of stuff your media reps or whatever are supposed to handle? You shouldn’t let shit like that blind you.”
sadie-blackwell:
Am I the only person who is terrified of homeless people? They are, like, gross.
“With a thought like that I’m currently more terrified of you, so...”
hadleybrogan:
Thinking back to what she had said, Hadley couldn’t help but smile a bit at his comment. Maybe it had sounded as such. “Sorry, sometimes I can’t help it. I tend to say some pretty suggestive things and the filter forgets to work in regular conversation.”
Hadley sighs, running a hand through her hair before she shakes her head at him. “It’s sounds like you give up too easily. I’m all for dumping people when they deserve it but just for being late all the time? It’s annoying but it’s not a crime against humanity.”
“The only issue with that is if you mean it or not,” he countered, offering a shrug of sorts. “It’d be awkward if you give that sort of tone and not mean a lick of it.”
A pause. His brows drew together.
“Also, to clarify, I’m not saying I want that to go either way. Just saying mixed messages aren’t always keen, especially with people such as myself, who have a tendency to read into just about everything.”
Waving off the notion of it all, the man gave a stunted laugh as she continued.
“I said I would drop her because she doesn’t sound reliable, not because she wasn’t arriving places on time. There is a difference.”
