Is it big I can’t see right now I’m at Starbucks
Is Batman dramatic?
Batman's real superpower is big dick energy
This image is better without context so technically you failed at getting me to click the ad Snickers because I don't want context
Do you have any figures or collectibles in your room?
I have a Hatsune Miku figure, a kirby, a kirby, a kirbya kirby, a kirby, a kirby, a kirby, a kirby, a kirby, a kirby, and a kirby
A proud father and mother with their many children

Hello, I will take the child… It’s not mine but I’ll take it
Said child is older than you lmao
Me to american animation: I know your stories are great buy why does your animation suck so bad?
American animation: We have to create simplified characters to make the movement faster and more creative and interesting.
Me glancing at Japan:
Me: k.
Okay, time for a history lesson. Or, perhaps more accurately, a cultural lesson.
In America, animation was traditionally made for children and that mindset has been prevalent for most of its history. In Japan, most anime is based off of manga. Manga is an art form that here in America we call comic books. But where comic books in American have been for many years denigrated and seen as something for children and nerds, in Japan, manga is respected and is made specifically for different ages and genders and comes in many different styles. Manga and anime for children is, in general, simplified and not very different from what you see in American animation. If you go back to early forms of anime made for children, you’ll see that even more.
However, if you take manga that is written for teenagers or adults, you naturally find a much more sophisticated and detailed style. That style then needs to be replicated when these stories are made into animation.
But the real deal comes down to money. Because manga and anime are a mainstay in Japanese culture for all ages, on the same level of consumption as books, novels, serious television and film, the people of Japan invest in it. That is to say, they buy the manga, they buy the anime, they see the movies in the theaters. Most of the biggest blockbusters in Japan with the highest audience counts have been anime films, until they are beat out by a “Titanic” or an “Avengers” movie. In Japan, anime was often made specifically to be direct to video - you couldn’t watch your favorite show on TV, you had to buy the OAV. And that’s not even touching the whole pornimai genre.
There has never been this kind of investment and support in America for animation. It is still, for the most part, considered a form of entertainment for children. Every animated film you see in American theaters is made for children, even if some of them have jokes and clever moments for adults to enjoy as well. And even though there is now more “adult” animation in American (Adult Swim), you still have the stylistics of children’s cartoons because it adds to the irony and humor of the animation. Crude animation that is literally crude and rude humor is funnier when it comes in a “child-like” package. And it’s also cheaper.
Since animation it isn’t a huge staple in America, the quality animated shows that do come out are still made for children, but feature enough quality writing, characters, plots, and creativity to appeal to adults as well. But because they start off as “children’s animation” (Adventure Time, Steven Universe, etc) they still have those simpler stylistics because they are the norm and, again, less expensive to produce on a limited budget.
What Mamishka said. It’s literally budget. Like, almost 100% budget.
Also, the gif comparisons are really unfair. The American animation gifs are simple moments in the shows rather than epic battle scenes like the anime gifs. Anime (and even American animation) always put more time/effort/money into the action sequences.
It would be more fair to compare simple moments from anime to the simple moments in American animation and I guarantee you’d see a difference in quality in the anime category. Generally, anime characters will move less in scenes like that so they can put more of the budget into having detailed characters models which can look nice aesthetically but results in stiffer animation.
i think sometimes style plays into it too, take things like avatar, american but stylized after Japanese animation. other shows come to mind too like totally spies.
Also time is a big factor. You can't tell me anime is always 100% flawless with animation
Sometimes what we see in America isn't even what originally aired but they actually go back and fix it since they have time to do so while it gets translated, localized, and dubbed. Or I guess it might be more for when it gets released on DVD but you get my point.
More on the time aspect South Park, one of the most popular adult cartoons, is incredibly simple in animation. However there's reasons for that 1. It's following the original paper stop motion style it originally had and 2. They make the episodes the week of it's release.
Of course this is only a single example but all of the points above are already good.
I’m HOLLERING, CLARK!
“If you would be so kind as to h*cking Perish”
That’s the face of a man that could turn his opponents hand into strawberry jam, but he’s not listening to that part even though it’s really convincing
That face says “Is that all you have, my good bitch?”
anytime i see a picture of murdoc its just my brain goes

Hey tumblr community! i need your help.
There’s been a student movement in Bangladesh and hundreds of thousands students have been protesting for a week for safer roads and justice for those who have been killed in road accidents. I will include a post of someone from Bangladesh so you can learn more about the incident.
by now, the Mobil Data and WiFi services in the country have been restricted so the news of students being killed and attacked won’t get out. Students in Bangladesh are using the hashtag #WeWantJustice to spread the news. Please use the hash tag on twitter because they don’t have access to social media right now. Here are some more pictures of the movement that I collected from the internet:
Please reblog, repost, share- do whatever you can to get international media attention and help them. These are children. These are students. We can’t just sit around watch them get killed! They students are just as important as the students in the U.S. They deserve to be safe. They deserve to live. Spread the word.
