Black Butterflies And Deja Vú
TØP: listen I know this one's a contradiction because of how happy it sounds, but the lyrics are so down
Paramore: hold my beer
moodboard: after laughter [After Laughter] means that look on a person’s face when they laugh really hard and then there’s this moment where they come back to reality — I like watching for it.
Other Paramore albums: hides sadness is metaphors and guitars
After Laughter: im SAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDD FUCK YOU LETS DANCE
Can we talk about “24 Floors” for a second, and how grateful we should to be to have this song? John O'Callaghan, lead singer of The Maine, thought about ending his life when he was 23 years old. I think about how much I love this band. The Maine is the first band I’ve ever fallen in love with completely. We’re so lucky to still have John in our lives, and I just want to speak about if you’re feeling the way John felt 3 years ago, just remember someone out there will be grateful, just like we are with John, that you’re alive, and still here, because you mean something and can contribute something to this world.
Top Ten Albums of 2016
2016 was an INCREDIBLE year for music in general, but exceptional for pop punk. i tried not to fill my top ten with one specific genre, but it was inevitable.
Good Charlotte - Youth Authority not only did they release their first new album since 2010 (and an amazing album at that), but i saw them live (for the first time, since i fell in love with them 14 years ago) 3 times over the last 6 months. banner year for me.
ISSUES - Headspace Tyler Carter lost my interest for a period of time during their self-titled era. Headspace changed that, and there’s not one song on this album that I don’t listen to. And they opened their Warped set this year with the Pokemon theme song. killer.
blink-182 - California with fingers crossed, i waited patiently for this newfound trio to woo me. the singles were fitting, and the live performance gave me what i needed to believe this album would be exactly blink fans needed after the slight disappointment that was Neighborhoods. anyone who was a fan of Mark or Travis, was not disappointed.
Rarity - I Couldn’t Be Weaker a genuine surprise, considering their label (not knocking Rise Records, but sometimes things tend to come out generic), but also not surprised in the least, because these dudes are CANADIAN (so support some homeland music and give them a listen.)
Jimmy Eat World - Integrity Blues when i put this album on, i could have cried. from start to finish, this was just pure Jimmy Eat World. and i loved it.
Moose Blood - Blush by recommendation from someone, i listened to Blush under the impression that it would be something completely different than it was. when you think Moose Blood, you don’t necessarily think soft or sad. but once you give them a chance, your mind will be completely changed.
Panic! At the Disco - Death Of A Bachelor Brendon Urie. that’s pretty much all i have to say.
Green Day - Revolution Radio definitely my favourite Green Day album since American Idiot. their previous trilogy release was less than well-received, and really didn’t catch my attention, but they brought it back around with this album.
JoJo - Mad Love its 2006; i am utterly obsessed with JoJo. 10 years i waited for this album, and i wasn’t entirely sure what to expect… but from the first song, i knew the whole album would not disappoint.
Touché Amoré - Stage Four staying in my comfort zone, i wouldn’t have listened to this album. but i took recommendation from two people who have musical taste that i respect immensely, and i’ve been listening to this album constantly over the last few weeks.
if i could make this a top sixteen… (so now it is aha)
Sum 41 - 13 Voices Canadians have not only been successful in the mainstream music scene these past few years. With Brownsound on board again, this is an incredible comeback album. a lot of old school Sum 41 influence.
Childish Gambino - Awaken, My Love! there is no world in which Donald Glover can do wrong. but the music world is my favourite showcase of his talents.
Trash Boat - Nothing I Write You Can Change What You’ve Been Through UK pop punk is always a favourite.
Kid Cudi - Passion, Pain & Demon Slayin’ haven’t heard a Cudi album i liked as much as Man on the Moon, but this one is up there. i won’t say that Pharrell having a hand in it helped, but...
Beach Weather - Chit Chat EP Beach Weather should be world known. their first EP stole my heart and never gave it back. Chit Chat is a perfect follow up.
Rihanna - Anti there is never anything to complain about when it comes to Rihanna. hell, you could put Work on repeat for hours and i wouldn’t mind.
AND predictions for my 2017 top album list.
You Me At Six - Night People Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness - Zombies on Broadway The Maine - TBA PVRIS - TBA
This is one of my favorite edits i ever made and im so proud that i actually took the picture myself
Under Soil and Dirt (2011) - The Story So Far
One of my favorite albums, cool cool.

i’ve lost count of how many times i’ve reblogged this
Never reblogged this before. That clearly was a mistake :).
I stopped being a child the minute the strip turned pink, okay? I had to figure out how to live.
