My spirit feels a little sick lately. I think maybe I’m doing some things that are wrong. But I want to do the right thing, I want to be pleasing to God, I want to go to heaven. I want to be a vehicle for love, and have so much love flowing out of me that it’s happening at all times. I want to be so lovely but also be humble. I wanna do the right thing, I’ve been doing so many wrong things and so many things wrong for so long.

My heart it cried in sorrow that such a beautiful being would feel so unbeautiful. And in that screaming pang I heard the spirit say. Don't listen to the lies you've long since been forgiven. Don't listen to the lies you are who I want. Long nights and days spent clamoring at the wrongs in your life. I've seen your despair. I've witnessed your plight. I've seen your heart and I know who you are. I'm calling you near and want you as mine. I never left you my child and I never will. I let spill my Son's blood to make you whole. Although not yet but one great and terrible day you will be. You can not understand all my ways. I assure you that all you see and go through I will use for my glory and for your good. Times will be terrible and times will be good but a true joy will come and you will see. My love for you is steadfast and forever. Don’t hide your sin and your shame - be open with your brothers and sisters in Christ

Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working. (James 5:16 ESV)

If you’ve sinned, don’t hide in the dark about it. That’s where Satan wants you to be. 

I know why you’re in the dark, hiding with your sin - it’s the same reason I hid in the dark with my sin, and still do at times. Sometimes, it’s not that you’re happy with your sin and want to live in it. Sometimes it’s the opposite - you hate your sin, you’re disgusted by it, and you wish it had never come to you. But you’ve done it, and you’re too ashamed to open up to your brothers or sisters in Christ about it. Brothers, sisters, this will not help us. It will not heal us. If we stay in the dark, with just our sin and our shame to keep us company, it will rot within us, and it will keep us isolated from our spiritual family and therefore make it far more likely for Satan to score direct hits when he takes aim at us in the future. Guys, this is especially true when it comes to pornography and other sexual sins. 

Whatever your sin is, there is beauty in openness and confession. There is beauty and life in healing and grace given from your loving family in Christ. There’s JOY in it. Go to your brothers and sisters (or just brothers/just sisters, depending on your gender, if it’s a sexual sin in question) and confess and seek after the grace and love that they are all too willing to shower on to you.

For Too Long

It's been quite a while since I've written on this blog and mostly it's been because I've felt guilty. This blog was made with the intent to share the struggles, the highs, the lows, of my life chasing after Christ. Lately it's not been a chase though it's been more like visiting a friend in another city you say hi every once in a while but you're not close to them so you temporarily forget about them. I intentionally forgot about this blog and Christ! Well I didn't forget about Christ I avoided him. I avoided him out of guilt and fear. My thinking was Christ isn't going to want me back and that I couldn't even say anything to change that. Truthfully nothing I say can change Gods plans. I foolishly believed that I couldn't ask for help or that I was never counted as part of the flock. The truth is though I am human and it's quite hard to stay clean and sometimes we need help. Being apart of the flock means I need to call out when I have found myself lost. To be honest with you I have been chasing desires of a broken body and the pangs of a lustful heart! I have avoided all of you because I didn't want to share with you my struggles. I didn't want any of you to think less of me. I was trying to be strong but I was really just weak. How ridiculous of me to think that I would be fine on my own or that I could avoid this and still be alright. So with this I want to ask that you pray for me. I also ask that you forgive me for thinking I couldn't share with you my struggles. I should always remember iron sharpens iron. Please just pray for me and help me however you think is best!
