Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf (born Chris Wayne Jackson on March 9, 1969) is an American former professional basketball player. Abdul-Rauf played basketball for Gulfport High School before enrolling at Louisiana State University to play college basketball for the Tigers.Â
His nine-year NBA career ended when he refused to stand for the National Anthem, although he was considered as one of the greatest free-throw shooters in the history of the game. He had only a single miss in the 1993-94 season. With his protest he sparked controversy just like Colin Kaepernick did. The only difference between them is that Kaepernick has a huge support from the people and Media and Mahmoud didnât have any. Has anything changed since then? Not much, but at least those who stand up against the injustice are not silenced.

Cosmoâs âhair tattoosâ trend sparks Twitter backlash
In another case of a brand attempting to call a long-standing black cultural phenomenon a âtrend,â Cosmopolitan tweeted that âhair tattoosâ are whatâs next for hair enthusiasts. Black Twitter started the hashtag #CosmoHeadlines to imagine other ways brands might try to appropriate black culture to make a new trend. The new workout you didnât know you needed is pretty hilarious.
LMAO I canât believe that bullshit was real . An actual headline

You cannot make everyone think and feel as deeply as you do. This is your tragedy, because you understand them but they do not understand you.
