Biography

Ronnie was born in New Orleans, her mother being a teenager and her father only a few months over eighteen. Neither of them had expected to become parents at their young ages, but neither of them doubted it for a moment; they were going to raise this girl. At least… That was their plan. After around five months after the birth from Ronnie, her mother left. Nowhere to be found. Leaving both her then boyfriend and daughter behind. From that moment on, Ronnie has never heard from her mother ever again.
It was the reason for her father to move cities with the little girl. The big city was too expensive for the two of them and the help her father needed to raise them. So they moved to a small town called Salt Flats. The Santos family next door turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The elderly couple next door helped the Hudson family by looking after the little girl while her father worked his two jobs to get them through the months. It was hard work but the family made it work with help from some friends.
When Ronnie grew older, also grew closer to the grandchildren of her neighbours. Juan Santos was her age and they grew up together. It wasn’t just a friendship, it turned into more than that. Juan was her first love, her first everything. But it also meant getting involved with his friends. Friends that she knew that if she told her father about it, he would tell her to get out. They definitely had a bad influence on her. Before Ronnie knew she was getting in trouble. Trespassing, small theft in the local stores. You could say that love made her blind because Juan meant a lot to her.
At the age of twenty four it got to the worst point. Some of them had been caught after trespassing on a buildingsite. Ronnie hadn’t been one of the people who had decided to break some things but she was caught with them. Luckily to her she was let go with a warning but it meant that she would have to tell her father what had happened. They didn’t have a lot of fights throughout the years, they were thick as thieves. It was always just the two of them and fights didn’t belong with their relationship. But the moment Ronnie called her father to ask him to pick her up from the police station, it was one of the first and last fights they ever had.
Her father made it very clear that he was very disappointed with her. It was clear that he never wanted this to happen ever again. It was clear that he was never going to pick her up at the police station again. It was then that Ronnie realised that even though she loved Juan a lot, it was not a healthy relationship at all. So she broke up with him and she changed her ways. She moved away from the group that she had seen as her friends. Her focus came more and more to her own wellbeing and her work. When she received the news that Juan had knocked up someone and was very close to being arrested, Ronnie knew that she had made the right decision.
Over the years Ronnie has moved out of her fathers place (only a few houses down the street) with two roommates and right now she is working as a waitress at the Salt Flats Station and as a maid at the Settler’s Hotel. And even though she is on the right track right now, she is still not sure if she has found her destination. Ronnie is not sure she knows what she wants to do right now and she’s still searching.
The last thing Ronnie had expected to happen that morning was the fact that she was going to bump into someone from her past. Someone she hadn’t seen for years. The woman knew that she had changed her life for the best when she moved away from the people she had seen as her friends during her youth. It also meant leaving behind Juan. The man who had definitely been her first love. His family had always been there for her, especially his grandparents but also his brother. And it was Marco who she suddenly came across with that afternoon when she walked into work. A new chef had been hired, that was something Ronnie had known. The woman didn’t know that it was going to be him “Marco Santos? Is that really you? How long has that been? How have you been?” She was shooting question after question at him before realising that she was doing that. “Sorry, I should at least give you some time to answer.”
