This is why you need to bind safely.  The damage in the first picture is not the result of binding over numerous years with a simple binder.  It’s the result of unsafe and irresponsible binding.  Bind safely.

Notwithstanding the decent surgical outcome from such drastic external damage, there are a number of things you can do with unsafe binding. You can actually break your ribs. You can also misshape your ribcage to the point of requiring very serious surgery, you can damage your lungs, and even give yourself life-threatening blood clots and infections. Using Ace bandages, Gorilla Tape, belts, or any of the myriad of other ersatz binding techniques can not only can do what the photos above can illustrate, but can KILL you. Luckily, I learned this soon, yet still managed to give myself a lovely scar and hospital visit from using double-sided tape.

Hey guy, Bobby(Ecgbryht) here. I use to post here ALL THE TIME.

Anyways, I’m about three months on Testosterone, probably about today or tomorrow it’ll be the third month. I forget. But my hair has started receding within the first month. No one notice but me until now. I read online that it’s suppose to happen from approximately 3 1/2 months - 2 years.

Is it normal for it to start this quickly ? I find, it’s a small price to pay but I just wonder if this happened to any other ftms.

I freaked out because I thought I was going bald. Just as I am not, you probably aren't. That said, I do know dudes who've dropped a ton of hair within the first 2 years, so you'll just have to survive. As for the hair, it started dropping out after about a month, but has recently stopped (16 weeks here). Mind you, my voice started changing within days and I now sound like a tuba.

Lonesome George is dead. Since being discovered more than forty years ago, he has been the last of his kind, the Pinta Island tortoise. With him, his species dies. Someone on reddit made this comparison of the Wikipedia page for the Pinta Island tortoise. How did we screw George’s species over? First 19th century whalers killed off a bunch for food on their journeys, then in 1959, fishermen introduced goats to the island. The goat population exploded to over 40,000 in just a few years, and the vegetation on the island was seriously harmed. The goats have since been exterminated and a project is underway to restore the Pinta island ecosystem and reintroduce tortoises to the island, but it didn’t come soon enough to save George’s species.

2 days on T

So quick question, I started T on Tuesday 50 mg and I already feel more hungry, and my throat feels weird…am I crazy for already thinking I’m having changes??? Also I am doing 50mg every two weeks is that normal? I am 16. Thanks :)

1) 50-80mg is the usual starting dose. Mine was and is higher because I am older and also 300km from the endocrinologist, so he wanted a midrange dose that wouldn't have to be monitored as often. 

2) My voice began getting raspy after about 2 days. While uncommon, you're not alone :). Also, when I was 16, my voice changed without T, so the T is latching onto a process that's already happening, but will drop your voice into the adult male range instead of female. FYI, I now have a fairly deep voice at 7 weeks.

You're not getting T in Canada without a scrip, legally anyways. If you get Androgel under-the-radar, look at paying $500+ for a month's supply. The caveat there is that your endo will give you a series of blood tests about a week prior to writing the prescription, and if your T is ridiculously high, estrogen's very low, or any manner of other things that T/hormone blockers/etc can affect, he or she will know something is up and either low-dose you or deny you outright. Be a good boy and wait. I didn't get my first shot until 19 days before my 36th birthday.

This is Gisella Perl, a  a successful Jewish gynaecologist in Sighet, Romania in the 1930s and 40s. She was taken to Auschwitz in 1944, where she treated women with kindness and compassion. She was asked to report all pregnant women to Josef Mengele- better known as the Angel of Death. When she discovered what was done to them (medical experimentation and torture, ending with often being thrown alive into the crematoriums) she vowed that there would never again be a pregnant woman in Aschwitz. So she began the abortions. 

In her time in Aschwitz, Dr. Perl performed over 3,000 abortions in spite of her professional and religious beliefs as a doctor and an observant Jew. Any babies born alive in Aschwitz were usually drowned, despite Mengele’s orders to allow them to starve to death. Because of Dr. Perl’s brave actions in performing these abortions, many women made it out of Aschwitz alive, able to go on and have families after the war. 

Although she was vilified by many for her actions, there is no doubt that she is not the monster abortionists are made out to be. This woman, this doctor, this abortionist was a hero. Despite her personal beliefs, she understood what had to be done. If you click the photo, you can go to a more extensive biography of her- she was a true hero.

The Two Wolves

My dad is at that point in his life where he's all introspective and existential, so he frequently posts old Aboriginal tidbits about life. Some of these stories date back to long before a European ever stepped foot on this side of the Atlantic, and here's today's entry, which seems quite relevant today.

One evening an old Cherokee told his grandson about a battle that goes on inside people.  He said, "My son, the battle is between two wolves inside us all.  "One is Evil - It is anger, envy, jealousy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego. "The other is Good - It is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness,  benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith." The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather: "Which wolf wins?" The Elder simply replied, "The one you feed."

So, I have been on testosterone for about 2 1/2 weeks, but was definitely working out prior to. Very recently, I've noticed that my tone is improving, but let's compare me from a couple of months ago to the improved, healthier me.
