Back in the 90s, some people realized celebrity domain names coult net a pretty penny. They’d buy a celebrity’s domain name then wait for that celebrity to contact them once they realized they needed a website. Then they could charge that celebrity whatever they wanted to buy their name back.

So this is a clip from a larger video where Lil Kim talks about trying to buy her domain name but it was already taken – by Left Eye, who bought all her friend’s names to hand them over for free before random people bought them. Left Eye was truly ahead of her time in so many ways. That’s a level of loyalty and prescience you can’t find easily and I love finding out new things about her like this.
