I want your midnights
You know what's sad? Having to tell my adult patients that they don't have to be boring fucks who hate everything to be considered adults.
Seriously, people have a very weird idea of what it means to be an adult. I have patients who come to me and tell me they are unhappy with their lives and they don't understand why, because they have a job, they have a good salary, they can pay their bills, they have a significant other, they're doing everything right and still they're unhappy.
And then we start talking and talking and, finally, we reach the real problem: they stopped being themselves.
I have so many patients who stopped doing things they liked - harmless things, fun things - because they felt it was innapropriate for an adult to do them.
Videogames? I'm too old for that.
Comic books? I'm too old for that.
Disney movies? That's for kids.
Super hero movies/series? I'm an adult, I should act like one.
Going to parks/carnivals? I don't have kids to do that with.
It's scary how these people simply gave up on these fun hobbies just because they reached a certain age. And it's even more scary that they don't see the problem with this.
Adult life is more than just work, paying bills and marriage. It's about going out with your friends, it's about buying silly things that have no purpose but to bring you a little joy, it's about having fun and living your life to the fullest.
You don't have to be a boring fuck to be an "acceptable adult". Fuck society and fuck whoever says you can't like something because you're "too old".
You're never too old to do the things you like, play the games you want to play and watch the movies/series you want to watch.
Dress up and go to Comic Con. Go to the midnight premiere of your favorite super hero movie. Read the "silly teen books" you want to read. Play that "childish" game you've been wanting to play.
Being an adult doesn't mean you need to forget who you are. Being older doesn't mean you need to let go of the things you love and enjoy.
Be unapologetically yourself and go live your best life!
WHAT WERE YOU DOING WHEN TAYLOR ANNOUNCED FOLKLORE???????
I had a class pretty early in the morning. When it finished i went on Twitter and everybody was freaking out, I didn't understand anything until I saw the post and I started to freak out too
What I say: Iâm fine
What Iâm thinking: Both of the Alice books are really about the trials and tribulations of growing up, where youâre always the wrong size, and you keep offending people without knowing why, and the world is run on crazy logic that everyone else takes for granted. The crowning moment of Wonderland is the ending. Alice gets what she thought she wanted - to enter the royal gardens - only to find that she doesnât like it when she gets there. Forget the mushroom stuff, Alice is the most honest portrayal of a young girlâs inner struggles ever written.
Dudes, just write. Stop asking me if you should start/continue/finish what youâre writing despite having x, y, or z problem. If you want to write I am in NO WAY authorized to tell you when to stop/start. Thatâs up to you and always will be.
If you think âno one will ever genuinely like thisâ you are 100% wrong. 100%. Think about all the trash out there that has fans. I wrote stuff when I was twelve that had more genuine fans among my family/classmates than ANYTHING I never shared with another living soul. Itâs impossible to write something no one will like.
If you think âIâll never finish it so why even bother?â youâre only depriving yourself, man. Thatâs like saying, âI like this cookie, but I canât eat the whole bag. Guess I wonât even try one.â ????? Just write the story, to hell with endings. Some of the best works in the world went unfinished by the author/composer/architect, yet we admire the heck out of them. Maybe, instead of thinking youâll never finish something, tell yourself this is the one you will finish (and repeat it until you do).
If you feel âthis hurts to write, Iâm too close to the subject materialâ either set it aside or full speed ahead. You MUST know how many classics, prize winners, and life changers came from someoneâs very real pain and experience. Addicts, traumatized persons, victims, quite often they find solace and healing in writing about their experiences. Most importantly, so do their readers.
If you want to write, write. Otherwise only you are standing in the way of what you want.
all queer history on here is just US-American or maybe sometimes some UK history as well and it makes me sad that thereâs so little information about other countriesâ queer history on here :(
@makingqueerhistory has some diversity, as of historical queer people, and theyâre doing a great job, but thereâs a lot of work ahead.Â
OP is definitely right, there still is a huge gap in the discussions of queer history, and thank you for recommending us!
This isnât perfect, and many of these only have one article, but here is our list of countries we have written about. We are hoping to one day have at least one article for every country in the world but as @every-book-has-a-secret there is a lot of work still to do.

Iâd like to add Tom Of Finland (Touko Valio Laaksonen), the one who drew those erotic pictures of muscular men clad in leather, to the Finnish list.
Some say that Tom Of Finland was the father for the leather gay movement.
PERUVIAN QUEER HISTORY???? God, I love this site
[ID: The Chris Fleming âwas anybody going to tell meâ meme. A person standing in front of a brick wall speaks, with the captions edited to read, âOkay, was anybody going to tell me that my country has queer history I wouldâve adored to know before, or was I just supposed to learn it from a wholesome Tumblr post myself?â]
@queerasfact is a pretty cool blog and podcast dedicated to international queer history!
Thanks for tagging us! Weâve got a list here of all our episodes sorted by country. Thereâs definitely a lot we havenât covered, but if youâre looking for a specific area, you can check it out.
âAnd so this month and every month I want to send my love and respect to everybody who has been brave enough to be honest about how they feel, to live their lives as they are, as they feel they should be, as they identify. And this is a month where I think we need to celebrate how far weâve come, but I think we also need to acknowledge how far we still have left to go.â
HAPPY PRIDE MONTH 2020 đâïž

taylorswift we need a recipe for these please! đȘđȘđȘ
MMMKAYâ there are two ways you can go about this. The quick and easy way is to make sugar cookies from a sugar cookie mix and just cut open a packet of chai tea and pour it into the batter as you make it. Cause youâre busy and you want making cookies to be a chill part of your day. Pow. Done.
OR
If you want to make the cookies from scratch (thatâs what I did for the 1989 Secret Sessions), you can use this recipe I found on a baking blog I like, joythebaker.com and I believe it was originally from a book called The Pastry Queen. If you want another great baking blog, I get a lot of great ideas from smittenkitchen.com too. This is a recipe for basic insanely good sugar cookies. I added the chai element to the recipe because I thought it would infuse cozy holiday vibez into the cookie and it really did. So Iâll star the part that I added in the recipe.
http://joythebaker.com/2009/06/giant-vanilla-sugar-cookies/
***after you add the egg and vanilla, cut one chai tea packet open and empty the crushed up tea leaves into the batter CAUSE CHAI COOKIES ARE ABOUT TO HAPPEN UP IN HERE***
I made an icing for the cookies, but theyâre fine on their own. If you want to make icing for them, just mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 1/4Â T-spoon of nutmeg, 1/4Â T-spoon of cinnamon and 3 TAYblespoons <â-(Iâm so annoying, it astounds me sometimes) of milk or eggnog if you can find it this time of year. The more milk/eggnog you add, the more your icing will become a glaze. But glazes are legit too so basically just LIVE YOUR LIFE.
I lightly sprinkled cinnamon over the icing once the cookies were baked and iced, but there are so many icing options you can pair with these cookiesâI mean itâs out of control. If youâre really feeling like living on the edge, you can go ahead and add a few drops of food coloring to the icing to make it festive. No one is going to stop you.
Why?
Cause the bakers gonna bake bake bake bake bake.
Bye.
did taylor swift really just show up out of the blue on tumblr only to drop some betty crocker shit on us what the fuck
Iâm reblogging this solely bc Taylor Fucking Swift just wrote a whole thing about cookies and ended it with a reference to her song.
