eeee im not sure of this could be considered a scenario, and im piggybacking the vibe i got from your most recent yukki drabble with modelling reader (very nice read btw!!!) but i feel like yukimiya will always be doomed romantically. he might do it to himself (giving up on love for a career then regretting it) or it happens to him naturally (falling out due to differing career paths or futures). i see as him as melancholic or just a guy that's doomed by the narrative generally hehe

AND TOTALLY AGREEDDD while i personally think he'd be worth pursuing in the end, things are bound to be toxic anyway there's just no going around it loool at least at the start. he already has a Lot on his plate after all. that, and considering he grew up with loving family + friends i feel a romantic relationship is way down on his priority as he is now like. he's plenty sentimental (and melancholic, just as you said) so when he feels he's in no state to put his all on a relationship he'd naturally pull back, whether or not it will hurt him. or his partner. scratches head

I inhaled.
"I’ve never loved you from the start.”
“And how exactly will that change us?”
That indignant look they had on their face was close to a blinking flare, a plea for continued explanation to prod—a period is a period, however. I’ve finished answering and have long since handed my sheet in.
They accepted the silence.
"You hold onto this notion of catching up to me with a vise grip,” pause that felt more like them dragging both feet along the tracks, "I hated that.”
My hand jolted to fiddle with the position of my visors since the oranges and reds suddenly seemed dancing about them.
"But I’ve decided I can grant you even that.” They pointed to the ground, their palm facing me. A familiar gunshot rang in my head. “You believe me part of your trial—then run from me. I will become a Gehenna of your own if that’s what it takes.”

you had a major fallout with yukimiya and the damage it did to your relationship is something neither of you could mend. life goes on, but no, he somehow refuses to close the book on that.
He has for the longest of time believed that he’s good at forgiving. There are plenty things in the world that have hurt him, but he lets them go with time. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. He likes getting stronger. He lives off overcoming hardships.
Yukimiya Kenyu and grudges simply don’t belong in the same sentence, to his belief.
“—or you could stay silent, and we never knew each other.”
A flash.
“We got it!” the producer shouted.
Light reflectors were taken off his side as he nodded a close-lidded smile to the photography assistants.
I need to stop seeing things, he mentally begs himself before walking up to his photographer. “Onto the ones with the other ambassador, yes?”
“Splendid work as usual, Kenyu!” said photographer practically chirped, “And yes, they should arrive anytime soon now. You can go take some five while we get the next set ready.”
He damn near let his balled fists show itself to the team before he quickly registered a bow in courtesy and excused himself to his dressing table.

Feelings got the best of him and his cling wrap of a façade that he already hated more than anyone else possibly could. He who believed himself an arbiter of peace. He who, in whatever ounce of honesty he has left, still wanted to. It’d be the right thing to do.

The stigma of self-inserts is so harmful to the creative process. Relax. Admit it. Everything you make is derivative of yourself, always, no exceptions. You can turn the mirror into tinier and tinier shards or you can make it as big as you want to reflect as much as you want. At the end of the day it's always going to show you inside of it. Pretending otherwise is stupid.
It's about doing it in a way so that the reader doesn't know.
If I read the book and come to a moment where "oh, this is the author writing about themselves" my interest in the story drops by about 300%. Don't make it obvious and you'll be fine.
Nope. You're missing the point still. Stop acting like it's acceptable behavior for you to call the earnest creation of art "lame". Power fantasy characters are rad as fuck. Everybody loves seeing John Wick do that shit. You're not just being needlessly rude and harmful to others, you're also just flat out fuckin wrong.
