This is a story I’ve been planning since September…I was going to post it on Marimo’s birthday but I couldn’t finish it back then. (I’m also working my ass off for my diploma project. It’s been hell……）
Anyway, it’s out. I can finally sleep well tonight.(I guess.)
This is kinda like an AU where their time passed like us in the real world. So it’s been another 2 years(or more?) since Zoro and Sanji parted before Dressrosa. They are both in Wano now, but still haven’t seen each other yet.
The last page is Zoro remembering all the birthdays celebrated along these years.(must be nice becoming 19/21 every year huh)
Another important thing needs to mention is: they are multilingual. Oda didn’t show this in OP, but I’d like to think they actually speak different languages (kinda like in The Lord of the Rings or Game of Thrones.) According to Oda, in the real world Zoro is Japanese, Sanji is French, so I’ve always picture they learn each other’s mother tongue as their journey goes.I mean in the Straw Hat crew…Robin probably speaks 14 languages haha
(This is also like…a kink…to me? I’m Chinese, and currently learning English, Japanese and French. This whole multilingual thing means a lot to me.)
I’m not really fluent at French at this moment, so I used Google translate. Hope it works.(update: I asked my friend to proof-read, I hope this time it’s correct!)

“ぐるぐる” is a onomatopoeic word for “one thing goes around” (Sanji’s curly brows.)
Their French conversation in English is:
Z: Where did you want to go, my prince?
Z: Do you really think I’ll let you do that?
S: Then why didn’t you come for me? Not that I need you.
Z: You know why. And you shouldn’t leave us first.
