Rorrie was always a fan of the end of school and start of summer. Until this year, that is. She'd been forced to return home once the semester ended and while she still lived in Florida she was unhappy. The semester had been one of intense changes for the blonde. Not only was she actually applying herself in her classes but she'd given relationships another chance. More than that, she had fallen in love. She and Jude had made plans to meet up and she'd been counting down the days until she could see him. Finally it was there and Rorrie could barely contain her excitement as she drove to meet him. All she wanted was to be with him, it didn't matter where they were. She was in love and for the first time in a long while was truly happy and could imagine a future woth him.

Valentine's Day had never really been Rorrie's favorite. Even in high school when she'd had a serious boyfriend, she'd hated it. She'd never understood why people put so much emphasis on one single day to show their love rather than doing so every day. Things were different now, though. She had Jude in her life and she loved him. Not just the kind of love she'd known before but real love. At first it had scared her but the more time she spent with him the more she was sure of it. She'd waited a few days after Valentine's Day to make it a bit more special. Showering him with her affection on a non-commercialized day meant more to her.

The note had been left on his desk when she'd headed out that morning, asking him to meet her there. She was nervous. The blanket was spread out away from any other beach goers, much like they had been that night in December. Because she wasn't one to take a serious approach to really anything, she sat on the blanket dressed for a simple day at the beach- simple dress over her bikini- rather than something romantic. There was a picnic basket behind her and next to that was a single rose. Cheesy and silly, but that was her style.
