Great.Â
Mhm.
Mm. How long did it take you?
Not very long. Truth be told, it's not as good as I'd like it to be. The basics are all there, but- she's skirted around the edges really.
How much of it have you read through?Â
Most of it.
Owl Post || 1975 Kids
Who wants to go rollerskating? We haven’t done anything together in approximately ages.
- El
That sounds like so much fun!Â
Cat
YES PLEASE!
-CHARITY B.Â
I actually don’t think I’ve ever been rollerskating, so I expect you lot to be patient.Â
-Ted
We’ll have to make sure we can get a sitter for Dora, but that sounds like good fun.Â
-Andromeda
Rollerskating? Well, if everyone else wants to, I suppose so.
- Rosalind
You can have it, if you'd like.
Oh my goodness.
Well I wouldn’t say optimism leads to excitability or enthusiasm. I think it’s just the ideal of finding light in things. Which, admittedly, I don’t always do. Anyway, you’re right. It’s all based on perspective. When it comes down to it, the healthiest way of being is maintaining a sensible balance between optimism and realism and maybe a bit of pessimism thrown in there too.
I could not have put it better myself. It is important to be realistic about what you can and cannot do and, personally, I do not think that makes a person pessimistic. It makes them practical. Which is more important than being optimisitc, I feel.
Yeah, just a few things for my parents. They need a bit of help every now and again. Can’t help but oblige.
No, not too far. Guess it depends on your definition, but I wouldn’t say so.Â
That is very helpful of you. Do they struggle to get out and about for themselevs?
Oh, it was. I was just a little too invested in this article so I wasn’t being very careful of where I was going. Your toe is still intact, hopefully?
It does not feel like it is not. What are you reading?
Sorry about that.
That is quite alright. An accident, I am sure.
Oh my goodness.
Optimism, really? Why do you say that?Â
I feel like it can be a matter of perception. What might qualify as optimistic to me may not for you. For example- I hardly find myself complaining about things and I do try to see the best in most situations, but I am not overly excitable or enthusiastic. Does that make me pessimistic? Or mean I am not optimisitc? I do not think so, but someone else might.
If you insist. You can just take this from my left hand here and I should be fine, thank you.Â
Got it. You have a lot of things here. Have you come far with them?
Oh my goodness.
Thank you, thank you. I’ll be straight back.
Anyway. Oh, really? How odd it finds itself coming up again and again in a spam of however long. What was the verdict, then? On your optimism status, Rosalind?Â
I am not sure one was really reached. I think optimisim can be hard to define. Here is one brand new tea for you.
Oh my goodness.
You’re very right. An optimist, are you? Or just practical, perhaps. Anyway, I’ll count my blessings today that I didn’t leave the house in a white blouse. That would’ve been dreadful. The jumper will be just fine. It’s acrylic, anyway. Would you mind? I don’t mind paying for another— I’m just going to run to the loo and use a bit of water from the sink.Â
Caroline Fawcett, by the way. And you’re absolutely correct, I despise the cold.
It is funny you say that, since I only recently had a conversation about whether optimistic is something I am or not. Practical, definitely. Of course I do not mind, and I am sure they will not mind either. You pop off, and I will sort it whilst you are gone.
Oh, I am Rosalind. Nice to meet you.
So you’re… I don’t know… poptimistic? Don’t worry, I won’t. I think Danielle may have gotten the dog llama drunk.
I think I am just about normal. I do not complain very often, but I am not overly enthusiastic about everything either. A balance, you could say. Your cousin got your dog drunk?
Oh my goodness.
Thank you so much. Honestly. You’re something of a life-saver right now, do you know that? Hm. Well. This’ll have to do until I get home and can properly take care of it. Luckily the tea isn’t terribly strong and shouldn’t stain.Â
You look somewhat familiar though I have to say I can’t place you.Â
It is not a problem, really. I am still waiting for my order, so I may as well make myself useful as I do it. Would you like me to ask them to remake your tea? I am sure they would not mind. You aren't wearing a white shirt, so it could be worse.
We met once before. You are the girl who does not like winter. I do not think I got your name.
Huh?
Oh, it’s alright. I think I’ve got it. I just have to drop these off round the corner anyway.Â
Well let me help you anyway. Think does not sound very sure and it would be a disaster if you dropped all of this in the sludge. I am walking that way, so it would not be a bother.
Are you optimistic? Well, yes, such as a llama. I wonder if llama’s can get drunk. Probably.
I do not think I am pessimistic. I- that is not something I would try, if I were you.
