okay let me rant a lil bit real quick over Dean’s face in both gifs. he’s not used to being the one that’s protected, he’s always the one doing the protecting. He’s familiar with the way Cas is moving because he has moved like that a million times over for Sammy. And then this angel shows up and starts doing stuff like that and thus precious boy is slightly confused because what? that’s his move, what are you doing, you could get hurt, Cas. and I wonder if Dean hesitates sometimes because he feels he’s unworthy of protection, if the way he pulls that same move on his brother and the countless other people he’s saved over the years is because he thinks that if he can save the innocent person behind him will help him feel a bit better and less worthless or something. idk but I’m glad Cas protects him because he needs it sometimes.
