How about questioning why it is that we seem to value a person’s life only in direct proportion to how much they produce for their exploiter and how efficiently they do it? How about instead of asking if people are lazy we ask if they just don’t like – and can’t deal with – constantly being exploited? How about asking what life might look like if our entire existence did not revolve around – and become defined by – wage-labor?

Here’s my piece for the annual Crazy 4 Cult show, opening November 20th at Gallery 1988 (West). It is of course inspired by “It Follows,” which is one of my favorite horror movies in recent memory. I wanted to convey that sense of vulnerability and looming terror that permeates the whole movie. The piece is also featured on Yay! LA Magazine as part of their “Horror Movie A Day” art showcase.
