This is literally just a xenofiction-ified version of my pokeask blog, ask-imaginary-dreamers. Things would change in this version - for example, Casey is the main and most central character rather than Flicker.
Primarily the idea is that each âbookâ within the story would cover each major arc of the blog, the first being the Flower Arc, then the Chainlink Arc, then ending in the Legends Arc as the culmination of Caseyâs journey.
Casey is a house cat who has always had the strange ability to see ghosts, and this reaches a point where Casey feels he needs answers after watching a spirit approach his grandfather and leave with his ghost. Casey then ventures into the forest, learning of a spot around that is rumored to be frequented by the God of Dreams, Flicker. I wonât fully go into details from here, but it is an adaptation of the Flower Arc so if familiar you can probably understand the various plot beats - with the biggest difference simply being that Casey plays a more vital role in Flickerâs story and basically taking the role of the askers in the original.
I canât really go too much into the Chainlink and Legends arc storylines but the main differences I think would be that:
- This version of Fade is not formally introduced until the Chainlink Arc
- The God powers function slightly differently here, Flickerâs power is not working as it should, but instead out of control due to her own mental state
- While this isnât the case on blog, I genuinely think in this version of the story, Falter (God of Combat) would actually be a major character and the third main character of the Legends Arc.
Generally ask-imaginary-dreamers is very much a story about the past, how it affects the now, and how to handle it going into the future, which would be the same for this version :)
Okay so I donât really want to fully spoil this in case I do something with this in the future, but this one is kinda inspired by posts Iâve seen about how dogs are kinda eldritch monsters to wolves - it very much kinda got more and more away from that, but the idea of a horror story from the wolves perspective really stuck with me. This is a story about Laika in a wolf pack that is dwindling due to human influence in a nearby town. Prey is running low, her family is being shot, and there is also a mysterious wolf named Scout that is refusing to join the pack for whatever reason.
I will note this is one of the more â???â of them regarding how it would be done, because the initial thought was in fact it being an RPG horror game made in RPGmaker. I am still fond of this idea, especially since I not only have a very specific visual aesthetic in mind for it but also am somewhat attached to a choice being made at the end, but to a level Iâm not fully sure how well it would work as one. Iâm not fully certain on how I would want to implement it gameplay wise, the aesthetics I have in mind are a bit ambitious, and some ideas I have Iâm not sure would work well in a hypothetical game setting - I find them interesting but in order to handle them well I think they would take time that the players might find boring. Like unsure how interested someone would be in wolf politics during their horror game, lol. So maybe a book? Maybe both? Who knows.
Rewound my baby my beloved. This was originally an SDR2 AU that I then catified, then made them OCs, and now it has spiraled completely out of that outside of some core parts of its premise. It also has a rough history of figuring out presentation, with ideas for it going from visual novel, to comic, to maybe just regular novel. Who knows. It also used to be anthro cats/cats that lived in a society close to humans, but xenofiction mind took hold and decided cat colony was funner.
In this story, there is group of cats in a colony in the woods on a small island that also contains a human town and dock. This island is said to be blessed by the Moon God, with the cats worshipping it. In turn, the Moon God sends down guardians spirits to protect and live amongst them. These spirits typically are able to transform from cat and rabbit forms, with the rabbit form having higher magic that allows them to dispel dark shadow creatures and the cat form existing for them to help the cats within the society socially.
This is all well and good, until during the birth of the next guardian, something goes wrong and they are instead born as twins - one cat and one rabbit. And even worse, their personalities are better suited for the other job. The cat, Pixel, tends to keep more to herself and finds social interaction hard and exhausting. The rabbit, Fable, is bubbly and would love to talk to people but is unfortunately incapable to due so to their permanent rabbit form.
The inciting incident of the story is the mysterious death of one of the colony members - and it being clear it was murder. This shocks Pixel a bit out of her isolation - this happened on her watch, after all - and she tries to figure out the killer and learns more about her peers along the way.
The main premise however is also this - more and more murders occur, and at one point Pixel herself is framed for it and the punishment for murder within the colony is death. When Pixel is killed, Fable uses her magic to reset the timeline and now Pixel has eight more tries to find the murderer before Fable wonât be able to save her.
Aka murder mystery time loop. But. With magic cats. I could tap far more about this one, though unfortunately the big issue with rewound talk is one of my favorite characters is literally the murderer and hence I can not really talk much about them or their motivations.
Anyway main premise/themes here are the ideas of living for someone else, tying your sense of identity to another, stuff like that.
Ok I struggle a bit to figure out how to begin with this one but basics are these guys used to be warrior cats OCs that I then grinded the serial numbers off of and this may be best described as my take on the âCat Cultâ Webcomic genre. I will note that technically speaking this story has four equally important main characters, being Star Fell, Boulder Fell, Comet Fell, and Cliff Edge. I primarily chose Cliff Edge because I think she is as close to a âheroâ of the story there is, though frankly I would probably ascribe Comet Fell as the protagonist if I had to choose one. But I feel iffy on Comet Fellâs current design so ÂŻ\_(ă)_/ÂŻ
anyway rambling aside, these guys are a group of cats that live somewhere called The Mountain Kingdom. Itâs kinda very much about cycles of violence. I explained it to my friend as Sisyphus clan lmao.
I will give an actual full summary of this story simply because I literally have described their story already on their Art Fight profiles. I do suggest reading the Art Fight profiles since I do think they present the story far better than this kinda vague play by play description. I will note they are not fully accurate, they still use their clan names and also Rock Fell/Star Fellâs backstory is inaccurate.
Boulder Fell, previously Boulder Spire, was next in line to the thrown but had no interest in actually being the next Queen and rather wanted to be the Cleric. Star Fell, previously Rock Fell, is a new cat to the kingdom who is lowest in the pecking order and is Boulderâs best friend. Rock concocts a plan that benefits them both - kill Boulderâs parents, and then Boulder can be the Cleric and Rock can take the thrown. They go through with this, and Rock (now Star) ends up just as tyrannical a ruler as Boulderâs parents. Boulder frankly has no reservations about this. Their parents deserved it, and she loves Star and would defend her with her life.
They end up adopting a young cat they name Comet as their daughter and heir. Cliff Edge is a cat Cometâs age that was hurt by Starâs reign. The cycle repeats. Comet helps Cliff kill their parents. However, things go differently this time. Cliff and Comet have a confrontation, ending in both their deaths.
This leaves Cliffâs ward, Bright Sky, behind to pick up the pieces.
The main idea for presentation of this one would actually be music videos/PMVs! I already have songs picked out and everything. It would be a pretty long and intimidating project though, so holding off for now :p
