Yes, tradwives are normal!
Marriage isn’t about equality- it’s about harmony. Husband and wife are different by design, and pretending otherwise is harming us all.
la.julique
Just want everyone to know I got asks telling me to kill myself and that abortion is the only way to “save” a women from becoming conservative. Because I said shaving is the feminine thing to do.
These people don’t care about body autonomy or freedom of expression. They’re demons.
“traditional gender roles”
Heads up that the norm to remove leg hair for women came about in the 1940s. It was driven by ad campaigns from razor companies like Gillette trying to expand their market to women during World War II, when a bunch of men were headed or staying overseas—and therefore not buying their razors anymore, which was hurting their bottom line.
So the idea that having leg hair is masculine (rather than normal for all adults, regardless of gender) is about 80 years old, and it’s the direct result of capitalism telling women that we have to buy and use more products on our bodies than men do in order to be as happy/presentable/acceptable in society as they are.
That norm isn’t traditional. It was manufactured.
Cool now tell me when gender reassignment surgery and the alphabet flag was invented.
“what does the woman who shaves gain from not shaving” i don’t know, an extra 3+ hours of free time a week? peace of mind and comfort in her femininity? not having nicks and cuts and ingrowns all the time? having a healthier skin barrier? do people think at all whatsoever before saying shit on my posts?
It takes some of you 3 hours to shave? I do it when I’m showering and it only takes me a couple of minutes. What sort of razor are you using? Even when I use an older, duller razor it doesn’t take me that long.
“Peace of mind and comfort in her femininity”
I couldn’t imagine anything less comforting and feminine than looking down at my legs in a sundress and seeing hairy man legs. There is nothing wrong with a woman wanting to look like a woman. That’s not lacking peace of mind, that’s normal and it’s misogynistic to say that femininity is the opposite of peaceful and comforting. Not all of us are desperate to be treated like men.
I can’t say I’m comfortable with the idea that women need to cover up completely to avoid tempting men and I doubt everyone who wears a niqab or burqa does so by choice. Nonetheless I don’t think I can support such an attack on freedom of expression.
yeah, these types of bans only go after religions that aren't Christianity. And it starts with a burqa, then hijab, then any Muslim headcovering... basically its a pipeline we should not be going down,, and forcing someone to do something against their will is already in most cases a crime (or misdemeanour)
in case anyone accustomed to showing more of their own skin isn't clear on how it feels to the population most affected here, imagine if you were only allowed to wear crop tops and booty shorts, for fear of being fined a couple months of household income
and regardless of whether that's practical attire for the weather or for your usual activities, never mind how comfortable you might feel in a crop top and booty shorts if you still had the option of jeans and T-shirt or a slacks-shirt-jacket ensemble
and yes, "you" here means every single person reading this! not just those of you assuming you've been assigned the gender that would still get to dress however pleases you! and yes, you can safely assume that this would mean people you don't want leering at you would absolutely be leering at you!
This wouldn't be extended to Christian nuns.
This probably wouldn't be done either if it wasn't also a problem for mass surveillance systems.
*Will not be extended to Christians. They'll ban ONE religion's clothing but not THEIR religion's clothing.
And as someone from a Christian religion who does wear specific clothing this pisses me the heck off. HOW DARE THEY think they have the right to dictate what a woman wears! The only person who gets to do that is THAT WOMAN.
If I was forced to wear skimpy clothing I'd pitch an utter legal or literal violent fit on whoever was responsible for such a decision. The reverse is not somehow okay because they hate Muslisms.
This is especially diabolical when you consider how often we’re being filmed by security or social media. Meta Glasses allows anyone to film you at any time without your consent and now governments can force you to show your face or decide how modestly you’re allowed to dress.
I prefer midi/maxi skirts for modesty and I veil for church; is that going to be banned too?
