To Love Another ~ Tonowari x Reader x Ronal
Masterlist
Synopsis: Neytiri's mating with Jake had broke your heart deeply. Soon after the war had ended, you set out to the ocean. Unaware of what would come with that decision.
Warnings: cheating (obviously), description of injuries, and minor acts of violence
"Tsu'tey, have you seen Neytiri anywhere? I haven't seen her since she had took Jake to train yesterday." I quickly walk up to Tsu'tey when I see him come storming towards the entrance of Hometree.
A deep scowl was on his face, but as he got closer, his eyes soften just barely. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he guided me inside. "They are fine. But we have to gather the war parties. The sky people have attacked the Tree of Voices."
I frown at the news of what had happened to our sacred lands. I don't bother asking more questions as I walk off to help get the groups organized. Getting all of them gathered around as we listen to Eytukan speak to the clan.
I stand alongside Tsu'tey as I feel him rest his hand on my shoulder. I glance over at him in confusion as he stares at the entrance with a sad look in his eyes. "I am very sorry, my friend."
I look over at the entrance to try and understand what he was meaning. I saw Neytiri walking towards us with Jake following behind as they held each other's hand.
Jake began to speak to everyone about how we needed to handle the situation. Tuning out him and Tsu'tey arguing as I could only focus on Neytiri with a small frown at the fact she wouldn't even glance in my direction.
"You have mated with this woman!" My head turns to Tsu'tey as he exclaimed that to the whole clan.
I feel disbelief as I look back at Neytiri to wait for her to dispute the claim. For her to say she would never betray what we had with each other. That she wouldn't throw away what we had with a vrrtep she had only know for a few months.
"We are mated before Eywa."
I felt my heart shatter as she confirmed what Tsu'tey had said. But what made it all worse was the fact that Neytiri had then finally decided to look at me for the first time since she came back. I glare at her as I tighten my grip on my bow as rage begins to take over my body.
Tsu'tey lunges at Jake as they get into a small fight. Everyone watched as Jake pushed Tsu'tey off of him and threw is knife to the side to show he didn't want to cause anyone harm. He began to try to explain how we had a common enemy that the clan had to fight off together.
In the middle of his speech, Grace fell to the ground unexpectedly. Jake following soon after as Tsu'tey quickly kneeled above him. But Neytiri quickly pushed him off and leaned over Jake protectively with a snarl.
I watched her in disgust as Tsu'tey reluctantly walks back towards us. He grabs hold of my arm to drag me away from the crowd as they began to whisper. "Come. We must begin preparing our defense."
Hometree had fallen, Grace had been killed, and Jake was gathering the clans together after becoming Toruk Makto. Everyone was preparing for the final assault against the sky people.
I was walking around the camp as I checked up on anyone who seemed to need any reassurance for the upcoming fight.
"(Y/n)." My blood runs cold as I hear her voice sound from behind me. I keep walking in hopes she wouldn't try to push for a conversation. But she just grabs hold of my arm as she continued to speak, "(Y/n), I want you to understand-"
"Understand?" I turn to her with a glare as I shove her hand off of me. Not even giving her a moment as I harshly poke her chest as I take a step towards her. "Oh, I understand tiyawn. You made your choice for all the clan to hear. You let them know that I had given you multiple years of my life, time, and unwavering devotion to you for it to just be thrown away for some demon who barely knows you."
Tears prick at the corners of my eyes as I keep talking. Feeling embarrassed and frustrated at the same time as I keep looking at Neytiri. She reached a hand up to try and wipe away at the tears. "(Y/n), don't be sad. I want you to know-"
I slap her hand away with a sharp hiss. "I am not sad. I am furious. I am hurt by what you did. I learned of your disinterest in me after you mated with him. You couldn't even look me in the eyes to tell me the truth about how you really felt." I watch her back up slightly at the harshness of my tone. But I don't relent as I take a step closer each time she backs up. "Oh, but don't worry. After the fight tomorrow, everything will be perfect for you. You'll still be an amazing huntress for the clan with your special little Toruk Makto after all of this. And I'll be remembered as the person who gave you everything before you decided you got bored."
I don't give her a moment to collect herself as I turn away and keep walking through the camp. Only stopping when I find a quiet spot a little ways on the outskirts. Sitting down as I take a few deep breaths to calm my racing heart. Praying to Eywa for a, hopefully, successful outcome for the day that will follow.
"You were very harsh with Neytiri." Tsu'tey's voice sounds as he comes to sit beside me. I give a huff to acknowledge that I heard him, but don't say anything to him. He placed a hand on my shoulder as he continued, "She was trying to make amends. You could have at least heard what she wished to tell you."
"She said she wanted me to 'understand'. Her first words weren't even an 'I'm sorry'." I grit my teeth as I glanced at him. Tears forming in my eyes as I replay the memories I had with her in my head. "I gave her everything I had to offer her. I've loved her for years and she couldn't even give me the decency of letting me know she didn't feel that way anymore. She went and mated with him even though she has only known him for months. What makes him so special? What does Jake Sully have that I couldn't give her? What did I do to be treated like dirt by the woman I loved?"
I let out a weak sob as I finish talking. Wrapping my arms around myself as I stare up at the sky. Tsu'tey doesn't try to explain away why I should have listened regardless. He didn't tell me to pull myself together and keep preparing for the fight. Tsu'tey simply moved his arm around my shoulder and pulled me into a hug as he let me cry.
"I am truly sorry that this all did happened to you. You deserved a better way of learning of what happened. But you are a kind hearted person. You will find someone who will understand that."
I bite my lip while leaning into his side. Wiping my eyes as we watch the stars shine brightly with the night. "But what if I never find someone else?"
"You will. I know it in my heart, my friend."
Weeks had gone by since the assault against the sky people. We had been victorious in the fight despite the fact there were heavy losses. The one that hurt the most was Tsu'tey because I had then lost what felt like everything that was connecting me to the forest. But I found comfort in the fact I knew he was with Eywa and reunited with Sylwanin.
I was currently checking over all my supplies I had tied to my ikran's back. Double checking the medical herbs that I might need to redress the wounds I had gotten from some of the demons during the war.
My ikran made small clicking noises as she looked past the cliff edge into the endless night before us. I rubbed her neck as I let a small shushing noise as I began to do the final preparations.
"Tam tam. It will be alright, Vayvi. We will find somewhere we belong out there." I stare out to the ocean before us with a deep sigh. Patting her neck lightly as I turn back to the forest. "It will be better this way."
I take a step back while taking multiple deep breaths. Shaking slightly as I finally remove the few pieces of jewelry that I had been gifted by Neytiri. Holding them in my hands as I think of where I could set them. Though after a moment, I loosen my grip as they just fall to the dirt haphazardly.
I let out one last sigh before finally climbing onto the back of Vayvi. Using all my self restraint to not look back one last time. Knowing full well I probably wouldn't be able to go through with the plan. That was the whole reason I chose to leave in the middle of the night; so there wouldn't be anything or anyone that could potentially change my mind.
After I make tsaheylu, I give her a small pat before she leaped into the sky. The breeze cold against my cheeks as we kept going. But I let out a small laugh at the feeling of being free after everything that happened because of the sky people.
We continue flying as the sun begins to rise in the sky. I smile at the difference in the color of my morning sky compared to what it looked like from the forest. Vayvi gives a small shriek as she gets a little higher in the air as the light reflects across the water.
We keep on course until storm clouds begin to form around midday. I spot a small formation of rocks a small ways in the distance. Guiding Vayvi over to them, we land just as it begins to rain just slightly. I sigh as I jump off her back to give her a small pat on her neck.
The first thing I do is look down to my stomach to check that my wounds hadn't opened up during the ride. Satisfied that I didn't see any blood smeared against my skin. After that I begin to rummage through my bag before I pull out some dried out meat that I had made sure to stock up with before leaving. I offer a piece to Vayvi, but she jerks her head away with a disgruntled noise.
I sigh as I take a bite of the meat, chewing quickly as I grab my bow and get out a few arrows. Moving over to a spot that was slightly higher than the rest of the rocks I had landed on. Searching the surface of the water as I try to look for some movement against the falling rain.
The moment I see a fish come near the surface, I let loose an arrow just below the reflection I saw. Waiting just a small bit, I smile when the arrow floats back up with the fish. I put my bow down as I carefully step into the water. Only having to swim out a little ways to grab the fish.
Before I could get back to the rocks, I feel the water underneath my feet swirl just barely. I look down to see nothing within my vision, but the sense of being watched began to form in my stomach. Carefully making my way back to the rocks to rest next to Vayvi after retrieving my bow.
I pull off the fish from the arrow and hold it out for her to take the treat I caught for her. She ignored my offer as she looked to the water behind me with a low growl. I kneel down as naturally I can as I set the fish down. Taking a deep breath before shooting back up as I turn my body around. Ignoring the shooting pain in my stomach as I pull back an arrow to be used if needed.
My breathing calms down as I see a few Na'vi sitting on their own mounts in the water. I keep my bow taunt as I look between the men with a guarded expression.
One of them tries to get closer, but I point the arrow at him with a small hiss. He raised his hands in surrender as he stopped guiding his mount closer. "We mean you no harm. We simply wish to know why you are here."
"Resting. Now leave," I quickly demand as I send him a glare. Firmly standing my ground even as Vayvi nudged my side with a soft whine.
He looked down towards my stomach as a worried look crossed his face. "You are bleeding. We can help you back at our village. We could show you the way there if you just follow us."
I stare at him for a few more moments before lowering my bow. Reaching a hand down to feel around my bandages to feel a warm wetness that I knew wasn't from the rain. I bite back a grimace as I finally give a reluctant nod. "Fine."
The man gave his own nod before looking back at his friends. "Go ahead of us and let Ronal know that she will have someone that needs her assistance coming soon." His tone was firm as he spoke, silently demanding his words to be followed to the syllable.
The other men give him curt nods before diving under the water. He watches the water for a moment before looking towards me once again. He sends me a reassuring smile as he turns his mount to the side. I give a nod before getting onto Vayvi's back once again. Huffing as she finally decided to eat the fish after I connected for tsaheylu.
He quickly begins to glide along the water after that. I fly low to the water behind him as I keep a tight hold to the saddle. Biting back my discomfort with each breath I take as we get closer to his village. I press my hand firmly against my side in hopes to keep a form of pressure on the wounds.
It didn't take long for his village to reach my line of sight. I sighed in relief as we steady got closer to the shoreline. He was on the sand waiting for me as Vayvi finally landed.
He tried to help me down, but I bare my fangs at him before getting down on my own. He gets a strange look in his eyes as he simply watches me almost struggle to get down.
"Tonowari, what is going on? Who is this that you brought back with you?" A woman comes walking out from a nearby hut as the rain slowly begins to get worse. Though she is unfazed as she softly glared at his 'Tonowari'. "Your hunting party came back without you to tell me you were coming back with someone from the forest."
Tonowari held up his hands in defense as he took a step towards her. "Ronal, calm down. We were about to come back from the storm when we had seen..." He stop for a moment before looking back at me. Seeming to realize he hadn't bothered to ask for my name when we met.
"(Y/n)."
He gave a small nod before looking back at Ronal. "(Y/n) land on some rock. I thought it would be best for us all to come back here before the storm reached its worse. Would you have preferred we left as (Y/n) suffered in the rain bleeding out?"
"I wasn't bleeding until you showed up." I send him my own glare as he tried to twist how the events played out. He looked between the two of us as he tried to find something to say to get himself out danger between the both of us.
Ronal simply scoffed as she gestured for us to follow her back inside the hut she had come from. I walk past Tonowari as I send him another glare before following after her.
Once I walk into the home area, Ronal is sitting on the ground with supplies ready to be used. I move to sit in front of her as she immediately begins to remove the bandages that I had one. Neither of us looking up as Tonowari also came through and sat nearby to watch the process.
I grunt slightly as her fingers move across my skin to assess how bad it was. Her face scrunching up in confusion as she looks intently at my stomach. "What has even made these wounds?"
"The demons call them 'bull its'. They tear through the body in seconds." I take in a sharp breath as she slowly begins to clean the skin. Grinding my teeth together to keep from cursing her out.
"You were in the war?" I glance at Tonowari as he looked surprised from the statement. I gave him a small nod as he leans a little closer in interest. "We have heard stories from those who have heard of it. Was it true that-"
"The wounds are not the same," Ronal bluntly cuts in as she rubs a balm along my skin with a concerned look in her eyes. "You have three in the front, but only two that show on your back. What happened to the third?"
"It hit the bone and got caught inside my body. We had to use knives and fingers to dig it out for the wounds to be treated the first time." I shudder when she begins to stitch up the areas where my skin had separated again
"Your wounds barely seem as if they had begun healing. Why would you be so stupid to travel in your condition?" Ronal's words were harsh, but I felt there was an underlying bit of curiosity of her own.
"I had nothing left tying me to the forest. I had to leave before I began to loose my mind thinking of everything the demons took from our people." I take a deep breath to relax my body as I wait for her to finish. Looking at the roof to focus on something so I wouldn't disrupt her movements.
Tonowari tilted his head as he heard my answer. Staring intently as he tried to make sense of what I said. "There must have been something that would have made you stay. A friend or family member that would miss you. I'm sure that you probably had a potential mate that would have wanted you to help rebuild your home."
I clench my fists at his words. Slowly looking down at the woven mats with a sad frown. "There was a girl that I did love in the clan. We promised ourselves to each other a few years ago. A demon came to learn and she taught him how to be one of the people. Before the war happened, she had... mated with him. I found out with the rest of the clan after it had happened."
Ronal stopped wrapping the plants she was using around my stomach. Glancing at me for a moment before returning to her work. Tonowari looked down with a sympathetic look in his eyes. Speaking lowly as he looks back up at us, "I am sorry that happened to you. It's a shame you both couldn't talk things over to form an understanding."
"I shut her down the first time she tried talking to me after it happened. I left before she could try it again." I stare at him with a serious expression as I shake my head. "The trust was broken, no matter what she might have said or offered. I doubt it could have been fixed."
None of us say anything else as Ronal finishes her work. Though it doesn't take long for her to stand up with a stiff nod. "Your wounds should be fine now. But you need to properly rest so this does not happen again. You will stay here until they are fully healed and I do not want to hear any arguing or whining of the matter."
I can't get a word in before she walks out, leaving me and Tonowari alone. I look at him with a confused look as I carefully ask, "Is she always that... blunt?"
He smiled as he stood up himself. Chuckling with a small nod of his head. "It is her way of showing her concern for your well-being. We will check on you soon so we can get you anything you might require. For now rest."
He leaves soon after to leave me alone once again. I take a moment to breathe before laying down to try and get a bit of rest. Focusing on the sound of the rain outside until I finally calmed down enough to let my mind rest with my body.
A couple weeks had passed since I had arrived at the Metkayina clan. Ronal had made a point to check my bandages practically every day, no matter where I was or who was around. But everyone seemed to be used to the behavior she was giving me after I told some others how I got the wounds.
Currently, I was stood on the beaches with a few of the women of the clan. Explaining how my bow worked and the proper ways of holding it and shooting an arrow. Not even breaking my train of thought when Ronal came to my side and began to do her assessment of my condition.
The conversation carried on for awhile until someone close by began to laugh obnoxiously. Everyone turned to see one of the males that was around my age standing nearby with a few others. Though his friends didn't seem impressed with his attitude.
"Is something wrong?" I politely ask as I turn my body towards him. Tilting my head as I readjust the grip I had on my bow.
He continued smirking as he shook his head in disbelief. Gesturing to my bow as he finally voices his thought, "It just doesn't seem like you actually know how to handle your own weapon. If you did, then you wouldn't have gotten injured by a demon's weapon."
Everyone went quiet when his words finally came out in the open. Ronal looked as if she was about to yell at him, but stopped when I let out a small laugh.
I kept my gaze on the man before gesturing my head to a few of the nearby trees the island had. Giving him my sweetest smile as I look him over. "How about I prove I can handle it? Go point at a spot on one of the trees and I guarantee I can hit it. If I miss, maybe you could help me learn how to handle it better."
Everyone seemed shocked by my words, the man most of all. But he quickly recover as he began to walk over to the trees with an even bigger smirk.
"What are you doing?" Ronal quietly asked as she watched me notch my arrow. A deep scowl on her face as she grabbed my arm.
I shrugged her arm off as I focused on the tree next to the Na'vi's head. Smiling to myself as I slowly lift my bow and pull the arrow back. "Humbling him."
Just as he was turning around to face us again, I released the string. The arrow hitting the tree just a few inches away from his face. He fell to the sand in terror as he looked over at me in shock. I simply smiled with a small shrug. "I missed."
"You almost shot me! What is wrong with you!? You could have shot my face!"
"I know. I was aiming for your throat." I start laughing at the shocked look on his face. The others soon joining in until he walks away in an embarrassed huff.
Ronal grabs my arm and begin dragging me from the group with a frown. "You ripped your stitches out."
I look down at my stomach to see a small trail of blood going down my skin. But I keep smiling as I follow along after her. "It was worth it though."
She gives a small hiss as we get to the healing pod. Pushing me to sit down as she grabs the supplies to redress my wounds. The both of us sitting sitting in silence until she let's out a whispered breath. "It was a good shot."
Another week had passed since the incident. Ronal and Tonowari had both been attentive for my healing process and made sure I didn't pop the stitches again.
I was sat in my temporary home as I began checking the few supplies I had left from the start of my trip. Mentally making an inventory of all the things I would need to ask for before I finally took off.
"What are you doing in here?" I look up as Ronal and Tonowari come walking in. Feeling surprised to see them after the community's dinner had finished just a small while ago.
I quickly set aside the bag I had as I turn to give them my full attention. "I was checking my supplies to see what I would need for when I leave."
"Leave?" Tonowari looks startled at the thought as Ronal scowled in response. Tonowari took a step forward as he moved his hands while trying to find his words. "Why... why would you leave? We thought you were enjoying your time here."
"I have enjoyed it here. More than I thought when I first arrived," I carefully reassure him while looking between the two of them. "I just thought I should be well enough in a few days to continue on with my travels. To move on and find a place to belong."
"You can't be that dense." Ronal snapped as she glared down at me. Tonowari tried reaching out to her, but she pushed him away. Taking a step forward, her voice raises with each word she says, "You have stayed here for weeks. We gave you shelter and food. I personally patched your wounds each time they broke open! Now you think you can just leave us because you suddenly feel like it!"
Tonowari and I stare Ronal in shock by her uncharacteristic outburst. I slowly stand up to take a cautious step towards the both of them. "I didn't think you would care. I am not of your people."
"What does that matter? You could stay here in the clan with us." Her voice cracks slightly as she continues looking at me. Her eyes tearing up the longer we stare in each other's eyes. "You can't just leave us."
My gaze softens as I realized the depth of her words. Her outburst covering her desperate plea for me to stay. Reaching out, I brush my fingers along her arms as I glanced at Tonowari. He took his own step closer to us as he gave his own nod to encourage me.
Focusing on Ronal again, I carefully cup her cheek. Taking a breath as I rest my forehead against her's. "I can stay with you both if you truly wish for me to."
Ronal gave a small sob as she moved her arms around my body to hold me close. Her lips softly pressing against mine before she rests her head against my shoulder. I softly rub her back as she continued to cry in my arm. Looking up to see Tonowari stop behind Ronal with a twinkle in his eyes. He leaned down enough to place his own kiss to my temple before he moved his arms to wrap around the both of us. No more words needed to be shared for us to understand what we were all agreeing to try in a relationship.
I hummed softly as I sat in the marui with Ronal as we waited for Tonowari return from the hunt. My hand rubbing her slightly enlarged stomach as I nuzzle my head in her neck.
"You are doing it again," Ronal softly chides as she continues working on the herbal mixture she needed. Though she didn't do anything to push my hand away.
I smile as I place a gently kiss to her neck. Inhaling her sweet scent while moving my hand to the bottom of her stomach. "I can't help it. You look so beautiful with our child inside you. Just as you did with Ao'nung and Tsireya. Absolutely beautiful, yawne."
"You and Tonowari have such a strange obsession over my pregnancies. I act no differently than I normally do."
"Oh, really?" I lean my head away to be able to get a look at her face. Keeping my hold on her with a knowing smirk. "If I remember correctly, you were very emotional during your first pregnancy. So much so, that you cried in my arms because you were scared of me leaving. And that was before we all knew that you were pregnant."
"Your memories are lying to you. You hit your head so often, I'm surprised you remember anything."
I smile at her bluntness, but decide not to say anything else. Instead, leaning back towards her as I begin to hum once again. But the sound of the horns going off causes both of us to stop all actions.
We wait for a small time before Ronal stands up to head outside. I quickly get up and follow behind her to see what had come to our home. The moment we get outside and get a look, my heart begins to pound.
Tonowari was stood in the center of the group as he conversed with a group of Na'vi from the forest. Even from a distance, I could tell that it was Jake and Neytiri along with what I could assume to be their own family. I take a deep breath before moving to join Tonowari with Ronal.
The moment we joined in at the center, I could see the recognition in both of their eyes. I gave them a small nod in acknowledgement before focusing on my mates. Though not quite catching all the words as all my mental strength went to not breaking down in front of everyone.
My attention perked up when I had heard Ronal say that we couldn't take them in. I placed my hand on her arm as I looked at her in confusion. She shook her head with a frown as she looked back at the group. I looked to Tonowari with pleading eyes to see he had a similar reaction. We both looked at Ronal until she met our gazes. Her determination faltered as she looked between the two of us before finally giving a small nod.
As Tonowari announced our choice to the group, I nuzzle my nose in her cheek with a weak sigh. Mumbling a small 'thank you' to her before pulling away. Smiling as Tonowari walks over to us before gesturing in the direction of our pod.
"(Y/n)." I look over to see Neytiri staring at me with furrowed brows.
I nod my head before lightly pushing my mates away with a forced grin. "I will catch up. Go and rest now. The both of you, Ronal." I wait until they both go away before turning back to face Neytiri with a serious expression. "It's good to see you again."
Her ears twitch slightly as she gives a small nod. A faint smile crossing her face in return. "I'm glad you are alright. You just left one day we had no idea if you were alive."
"I know," I sheepishly admit with a frown. Looking away for a moment as the memories come playing back in my mind. "I had to get away from there. I couldn't be in the forest anymore without thinking of the war. But..." The words catch in my throat for a moment. Taking a deep breath, I look back at her with a sorrowful look. "I should have still said goodbye. No matter how I felt about everything back then."
Neytiri seemed surprised by my admission, but she gives a hesitant nod. "I understand. And I should have said this long before you left, but... I am sorry for what happened."
My eyes begin to burn as I blink away the tears before they form. Giving a small nod while glancing at her children. "They will like it here. The clan will treat them as if they were born on these shores."
Neytiri smiles as she looked at them as well. A silent agreement falling between us over what had happened long ago as I finally walk away to go and rest with my family.
I let out a sigh as I walk through the doorway. Smiling as I see Tonowari and Ronal laying down with a small bit of space between them. Immediately walking over to rest myself next to Tonowari so Ronal had the space she wanted.
"How do you always know when she wants to have her own space?" Tonowari asked as he held me towards his side. Sending Ronal a glance before pressing a small kiss to her head. The action earning him a small hiss.
I chuckle as I move my arms to wrap around his neck. Resting my head on his shoulder as I look over at her. "It always depends. But whenever she's pregnant and wants to be held, she has an arm around one of our waists. I remember figuring out that one specifically right before Tsireya was born."
Ronal sends us a small glare before turning onto her side facing us. Her face relaxing when she closes her eyes. Even though she didn't want to be held, Ronal moved her leg to rest over Tonowari's.
I grin as I press my fingers to my lips before placing them on Ronal's arm. "See? She doesn't want us to leave her alone. She just wants affection on her own terms." Looking up at Tonowari, I give him a kiss on his lips before resting my head on his shoulder.
"Be quiet and rest already." I laugh softly at her annoyed tone, but close my eyes as well. Letting my body slowly relax in the presence of both of my mates.

It had been a month since the incident that had lead to my courtship with Tsu'tey. I had recovered fairly well with only the occasional pain here and there. Even Mo'at said that in the next day or two the pain should completely fade away.
Currently, Tsu'tey and I were sitting with Jake and Neytiri at the clan's dinner. Making small conversation about our recent activities of the past few days.
"So, have you two been doing well? Nothing that's happened to make you to change your minds about being together?" Jake asks after a small lull in our conversations.
I let out a sigh as I look over at Jake, annoyance and embarrassment playing on my face. "Jake, can you please stop bringing that up?"
He smiles a little as he takes another bite of food. Chewing slowly as he playfully shrugged his shoulders. "What? I'm just curious about how the soon-to-be mated couple is doing. Trouble in paradise already?"
Tsu'tey looked confused by the human phrase that Jake used. I gave him a reassuring smile as I placed my hand on Tsu'tey's cheek. "Ignore him. Everything is fine between us." He smiles in return as he put his hand on my shoulder, glancing down at the necklace that I hadn't taken off since I got it.
Jake let out a small laugh at our displays of affection. Putting his arm around Neytiri with a teasing grin. "Be honest with me. When you meet us, did you ever think Tsu'tey would ever show that kind of affection towards someone who was human?"
Tsu'tey sends Jake a small glare when he makes the comment. But his expression softened as I lightly nuzzled my nose against his cheek. "Ignore him. He's just trying to rile you up."
Tsu'tey mumbled something under his breath, but I didn't quite catch it. What I could understand was him say he would get Jake back later in some way. That brought a smile to my face as it showed that they were definitely getting along.
"It is getting late. We must be leaving now," Neytiri suddenly speaks up as she starts to stand. Taking hold of Jake's arm as she tried to get him to follow.
Jake looks at her confused as he slowly stands up. Glancing between his mate and us. "It's barely even an hour past sundown."
Neytiri shushes him as she gives us a smile. Even shooting Tsu'tey a knowing look before waving goodbye. Jake awkwardly did the same before following after her.
"What was that look that Neytiri gave you?" I ask as I look back at Tsu'tey with a small tilt of my head. But he only ignored me as he stood up and took my hand in his.
"There is a place I would like to take you." That was the only response I got from him as he helped me to my feet. I continued to look at him confused as he began to lead us into the forest to whatever place he had in mind. "A place I know you will love."
I smile a little as I follow behind him. Taking in the sight of the night life that was around us and the boiluminescent plants that lit up the path we were taking.
My mouth dropped open in awe as we came up to a small river. There were multiple flowers and other plants that were hanging in the trees nearby and on the river bank. The soft trickling of the water was like a soft melody to the otherwise quiet night.
"Tsu'tey," I mumble as I walk forward a few steps. Keeping ahold of his hand as I slowly take it all in. Finally looking back at him after a short time with a grin on my face. "It's beautiful here."
He smiled as he reached his free hand out to rest on my hip. Slowly pulling me closer as he placed his head against mine. "I thought you would enjoy it here. I want this to be a place you will always cherish in your memories of us."
I give a soft hum as I press closer to him with my hands resting on his shoulders. Leaving almost no space between our bodies as I looked deep into his eyes. Realizing that this is the spot where he wished for us to become mated before the eyes of Eywa.
"I cherish every moment with you. No matter where we find ourselves," I whisper as I slowly lean closer to him. Softly closing my eyes as we meet each other for a gentle kiss.
It lasts for a few moments before we both pull away for air. A small laugh passed my lips as I open my eyes to see him staring at look of what I could only describe as pure awe. I keep looking into his eyes as I trail my hands down his chest as I begin to sink to my knees.
"What are you doing?" Tsu'tey quickly asks as his eyes go wide. My own brows furrow in confusion at the fact he seemed so hesitant from my actions.
My expression soon relaxes as I realize that was simply a difference in our species. Resting my knees comfortably on the ground, I give him a reassuring smile as I rub his thighs. "It's a human thing that we do sometimes when getting intimate. I want to do it to show how much I appreciated you taking such good care of me. But I promise you will enjoy it very much. And if you want me to stop, just tell me and I will. Okay?"
It takes a few moments, but Tsu'tey finally gives a small nod. I smile up at him as I carefully trace my fingers along his skin until I get to the knot that held his loincloth together. Lightly pulling it loose until the fabric falls off of his hips. Gasping just slightly at the size of him in his natural state.
Glancing up at him, I give him a smile before leaning forward to press a soft kiss on his member. Tsu'tey let's out a startled grunt as he places his hand on the back of my head. But I can tell that he enjoyed it because his member twitched as he began to get hard.
"You doing okay?" I teasingly ask as grab hold of him. Lightly stroking as I place another soft kiss on the tip.
His face scrunched up as I did so, which also caused him to lace his fingers in my hair. "What is the purpose of this?" He managed to get out the words through clenched teeth. Trying to appear as if he wasn't that effected by my actions.
"To make you feel good," I casually whisper before taking him part way into my mouth. Going down just enough for him to touch the back of my throat a few times before pulling away completely. "Does it feel good to you?"
The flustered look on his face along with his slight heaving was enough of an answer for me to know that he was enjoying himself. But he gave a small scowl as he looked down at me. His voice just the smallest bit breathless when he spoke, "Your people's ways seem pointless."
"You can tell me to stop at any time," I point out to him with a grin. Sticking my tongue out as I lick his head. Getting the smallest amount of cum as I keep jerking him off slowly with my hand. I place another kiss to the tip before pulling back to give him a knowing look. "If you really think it's so pointless."
Instead of saying words, Tsu'tey pushed my head back towards his crotch. I giggled softly before opening my mouth again and taking him back in. Bobbing my head to take a little more of him each time with a soft hum. He gave a small grunt at the sensation as he pushed my head down just slightly to take him further in. Smiling around him as I place my hands on his thighs in order to keep myself balanced.
Taking in a deep breath through my nose, I relax my jaw and lean forward as much as I can. Stopping only when his tip grazed the very back of my throat. But that seemed to be just enough for him with the groan that reached my ears. A soft moan tried to make its way out of my throat as he came down my throat.
Once I was sure he was done, I slowly pulled back with a small gasp. Smiling up at him while I swallow quickly as I wipe my chin. Taking hold of his hand as he carefully kneels down to be level with me.
"Did you enjoy yourself?" I teasingly ask rest my head on his shoulder. Grazing my nose against his neck as I do so.
He let's out a soft grunt as he began rubbing my arms. Taking a moment to catch his breath before he finally said, "I still don't understand the whole point of it."
"So you wouldn't mind if this was the only time I ever did that to you?"
"I did not say that." I laugh softly at the slightly offended tone he used. Pulling back to look into his eyes as we continue holding onto one another. Both of us slowly leaning in to share a passionate kiss.
After a short time, we both pull away to catch our breath. Only taking a moment before Tsu'tey reaches back to bring his queue to present to me. My heart starts to pound in my chest as I realize that this was the moment that would change both of our lives.
With deep breath, I carefully pulled mine in front of my body. Keeping a small distance between the two as I looked back into his eyes. Moving my free hand to his shoulder with a small nod. Both of us bringing our queues closer until the tendrils intertwine as we made tsaheylu.
My breath caught in my throat at the sudden rush of new emotions and sensations. My hand trailing down to rest over Tsu'tey's heart, feeling like it was beating in both his chest and mine. Barely registering the feeling of his fingers undoing the knot of my own loincloth through the haze. His hands carefully guiding me to lay down on a soft spot in the ground.
Tsu'tey placed soft kisses along my collarbone and up my throat. Bringing me into a slow kiss as he wrapped his arm around my waist to hold me closer. Only pulling back when I lightly pushed against his chest so I could catch my breath.
"Are you sure you are alright to fully bond tonight?" He asked in a whisper before resting his forehead against mine. Worry evident in his eyes as he tries to see if there were any second thoughts. "We could do it another night if you would prefer."
I grin at his concern of making sure I was actually ready to become fully bonded with him. Grabbing his waist, I press up against him in response to his worries. Sighing at the small bit of friction of his cock rubbing against my clit.
"I am more ready than I have ever been since I came here," I whisper to as I carefully shift my hips until Tsu'tey rests directly at my entrance. Calming my breathing as I focus on him in the moment. "Oel ngati kameie, ma muntxatan."
I feel his heartbeat increase slightly when I say that. His grip becoming more firm as he let's out a mix between a sigh and a groan. Tsu'tey finally pressed himself close to me as he slowly pushed inside. "Oel ngati kameie, ma muntxate."
I hum softly at the feeling of Tsu'tey gently inched his way inside of me. My nails lightly scratching his skin at the stretch. Tsu'tey gave a small grunt as he pushed his hips flush against mine. Both of us taking a moment to catch our breath.
We stare at one another for a few seconds before Tsu'tey slowly begins to move. His thrusts start off shallow, but still hitting just the right spots to cause tingles to go down my spine. He becomes more confident over time, reaching deeper with each roll of his hips. Though he remains loving and sensual with each movement that he was making.
Soft moans pass my lip each time his pelvis pressed up against mine. Also sending soft sensations as he coincidentally rubbed against my clit as well. Causing me to clinch around him as I push back to meet his thrusts.
Tsu'tey let's out a groan before pressing his body down against mine. The weight of him causes a pleasurable hold as my back begins to scrap against small rocks hidden in the dirt. I arch my back slightly at the feels as I slowly got closer to my climax.
Tsu'tey picks up his speed slightly when my walls begin to contract around him more often. I wrapped my arms around his neck as I tried to hold back as long as my body would let me.
Tsu'tey rests his head in the crook of my neck as he begins to pant softly. Thrusts becoming more frantic until he finally stops as he bites down on my neck. Sending me to my own orgasm while he lightly grinds against me as he calms down from his own.
We both lay there to calm down in the afterglow of what we had done. My hand resting on the back of his head while he places a soft kiss over the the spot he bit. Eventually rolling over to lay on his side, but still keeping one arm wrapped around my waist.
I turn my head to look at him, giving him an exhausted smile as my eyes begin drooping. "I love you, Tsu'tey."
He chuckled softly before placing a gentle kiss to my forehead. Holding me close to him to attempt to make me more comfortable. "I love you as well, (Y/n). Sleep well, yawne."
Hello, this is my first time requesting something and i was kinda nervous and i have a few ideas in mind.
But i was wondering if you can write an avatar x maleficent readeri don’t see many of these and i would like something different, and love your writing (if you can’t thats totally fine) thx
This was such a cute idea that I had immediately started it once I got this request! I kinda did a style of the movies still exists and it's not just a random occurrence in the universe. I cut this off to have a nice and fluff type ending but with the opportunity to do a part 2 with heavy angst. And if you want one with the second movie, like it's a growth from this one, just let me know.
Finding Home ~Avatar x Maleficent! Reader
Warnings: Small injuries and a miscommunication that almost causes a fight (Tsu'tey doesn't understand human friendship dynamics)
Masterlist
Being born with wings was definitely a surprise when everyone in the delivery room when I was born. Especially when I later began to grow horns with each passing month. I could only imagine everyone's surprise when they all found out I was exactly like the Disney character Maleficent. That the story wasn't as fictional as everyone had once thought.
Growing up I had idolized the movies of her, ecstatic that I was unique just like she was. Though their were difficulties with my uniqueness as I got older. It was harder to breathe normally compared to someone that had regular problems when I had come to be about 6.
Mom worked with the RDA as a researcher, so they were willing to take a look at me to see what might be wrong. They finally came to the conclusion it was because of the lack of natural forests with fresh air. This caused me to have to use a special inhaler at least 3 times a day. But it was also a discovery that changed my life because I got to meet Grace.
"You know, I'm going to a special place. A different planet that's supposed to have a lot of trees and all kinds of animals and flowers. I think it's just the place you need to truly thrive. Do you like that idea?"
That's what led me here 21 tear years later, technically 15 if cryosleep isn't counted. A botanical expert that would be working alongside Grace and the other members of the Avatar program.
During the safety briefing, I could feel everyone staring at me. But I had become used to it and just focused on the information that was being given to us. Feeling anxious to see Grace again after so long since I first and last saw her.
After the meeting was over, I got ushered along with a Norm and Jake to go and meet up with Grace. I had a small bounce in my step as I walked along with them, not even noticing the weird looks.
"I just gotta ask. What's with the wings and horn things? You like dressing up in them or something?"
"Jake!"
I chuckled softly at the question, casually looked over at the both of them as Jake just waits for an answer as Norm looks absolutely mortified. Stretching my back slightly, I lift one wing up to hang over his had for a second. Smirking at the look of pure awe on both of their faces. "That good enough for you?"
"Holy shit," Jake softly laughed out as he stared at them for a few more seconds before shaking his head. "Now I've seen it all."
"No, I don't think you have yet." I look ahead as we get to the control center of the Avatar program. A smile spreading across my face as I take in all the technology around us, focusing mostly on the screens that were playing overhead.
The sound of one of the pods opening drew my attention away to across the room. A genuine smile coming across my face as I saw her sitting up from the machine, Dr. Grace Augustine.
Grace spoke to some of the other researchers before she turned to look at all of us. I had to keep myself from jumping in to hug her when she turned her focus to me.
Taking in my appearance, she had a small grin as she reached out and affectionately cupped my chin. "Look at how much you've grown. I don't even recognize that little kid that used to carry around a stuffed Maleficent toy like it was a part of you. I'm glad you got to join the program, (Y/n)."
"Thank you, Dr. Augustine," I bashfully reply, feeling ecstatic that she even remembered my name from one interaction years ago. "I'm grateful for the opportunity to be here and working alongside you."
"Always the modest one. That's one of the things I admired about you." She playfully shook my head before finally letting go. Her face becoming a little more stern as she looked at Jake and Norm. Speaking a little more firmly with them.
Letting her words fade into the background, I look back over at all monitors that sit in the center of the room. Marveling at the images that were showing up along with the graphs and how quickly they changed every few seconds.
"They update in real time, you know." I turn my head over to see a guy with glasses standing there with a smile. Pointing up at one of the screens, he continues, "The graphs and the numbers. They help us monitor the vitals of everyone while they are in the pods."
I let out a small 'oh' in understanding as I look back at the monitors for a couple more moment before looking back at him. Holding my hand out, I begin to introduce myself, "I'm (Y/n)."
"I heard," he chuckled out as he took hold of my hand. "My name's Max. I help track the vitals of everyone. And I'm sure everyone heard your name earlier. Grace has never been that nice to anyone before, except for the children."
"Children?" I give him a questioning look as I drop his hand. "They have children here on the base?"
"No, the Na'vi children. Oh, I bet that they are going to love you when they get a look at you." Max's eyes widen when he realized what he had said. Opening and closing his mouth as he tries to find something else to say.
"(Y/n), follow me. Time for a little academic show around." Grace calls out as she begins to head out the door with the men close behind.
Turning back to look at Max one last time, I raise my hand with another smile as I walk away. "I hope your right about that."
I lightly jog to catch up with the group as Grace leads us through the series of hallways until she pushes open a set of doors. When we enter, the first thing I noticed was the dim lighting and blue tint that almost glowed around us. The second thing was the glass tubes that held our Avatars.
Grace placed a hand on my shoulder before leading me to a specific pod off towards the back of the room. Speaking softly when we get closer, "It will take a little longer for you to get your Avatar than the others. It decided to pick up a few extra strands in your DNA that we used."
I stare in awe as I stand in front of the tank, noticing what she had meant. There laid a Na'vi body with features just like mine. Along with a small set of horns and wings that were still developing to fit the rest of the body. Stepping closer, I set my hand on the glass as I smile down at the body. "It's beautiful."
Grace stood beside me with one arm around my shoulders as she put her other hand on the glass with me. "Just like you."
While I didn't have the Avatar body, Grace still let me tag along during the research expeditions. Just as long as I promised to keep my inhaler on my person and my mask stayed on at all times if I didn't need to use it. Just because she wanted to test out the theory of me potentially being able to breathe the air here slowly and in a controlled environment.
We were carefully walking through the forest to a spot where Grace had decided to get some new samples from earlier. There wasn't much talk as we took in the sight of living plants in front of us. Or at least me and Norm were mostly focused on them.
"So, are you able to fly with your wing? Or do they not work for that?" I turn my head up to see Jake staring back at with a confused look on his face.
"I can, but not very well. There weren't many places that I could do something like that back on Earth," I casually explain to him before looking around back around at the area around us.
Grace kneels to the ground around some roots in a tree as she begins to get the equipment ready with Norm as she guides him on what to look for with the images that showed on the screen. I tried to pay attention as I looked down, but I saw Jake walk away out of the corner of my eye.
Following after him, I see him interacting with a different kind of plant. The moment he touched it, it retracted towards the ground as a defense mechanism. I smiled as I watched him do it again with the same result. We both laughed slightly until all of them went to the ground to reveal a small group of the native animals.
We both hold our breaths as one of them gets closer to us. Grace comes running over with Norm as she calls out to Jake. "Don't move. It's only a defense tactic. Just stand your ground."
I watched as he stared down the creature until I felt the hair on the back of my neck stand up. Slowly turning my head around and up, I saw a different animal with sharp fangs staring down at me. I held my breath out of fear as it looked over at Jake and let out a low growl. Jumping over the both of us, it stared down at Jake as he took a step back.
"What do I do with this one?" Jake called over to Grace as he locked eyes with the predator in front of us.
It let out another low growl when Grace called back, "Definitely run!"
I barely processed the fact that Jake had turned around to start running. I let out a small scream as he lifted me over his shoulder. I held onto his shoulder as I helplessly watched as the creature chase after us through the dense forest.
Suddenly Jake came to a halt which caused me to look over to see we had gotten to a cliff edge near a waterfall. "What are you doing?! Go!"
"Can you swim?!"
"Fucking jump!" I apparently didn't have to tell him a second time when a deafening roar sounded through the trees. He pulled me down to his chest and jumped down as he stiffened his body. I wrapped my wings tightly around us right before we hit the surface.
Water rushed past us for a few seconds before Jake began to swim upward. Pushing away from him to start swimming myself, we raise our heads over the surface. Jake gasped for air as we both look to see the creature slowly walk back into the forest.
I let out a small sigh as we swim over to the shore and check for any injuries. I glare at Jake after making sure I was fine from the fall. My voice laced with a subtle anger when I say, "'Can you swim'?"
Jake looks at him as he raises a hand as he backs away. "I was trying to make sure you would be safe if we-"
"Can you swim!? Can you fucking swim!? That's the first thing you thought of!? Not, 'is your mask waterproof' or 'is the thing catching up'! You could have thrown me and I would have flown down while you jumped if you were that worried! But 'can you swim' was all you could think of!?"
"You know," Jake began talking as he turned around and started to walk through the forest, "you are very angry for someone that looks like a Disney character."
"She was a villain to begin with anyways. Maybe you should watch your back Sully." I continue to glare at his back as I walk behind him deeper into the forest.
He looks over his shoulder with a smile as he takes in my disheveled appearance. Trying his hardest to hold in his laughter as he shrugged. "Grace wouldn't let you."
"Grace isn't here," I whisper to myself as we continue to walk. I hear noises of unknown animals from deep in the forest. Despite being mad at Jake, I quicken my pace to be walking beside him. Looking up at the trees, a strange feeling coming over my body as I scan the leaves overhead. "Jake..."
"I know," he mumbled as he carefully scans the trees as well. Reaching a hand out, he gently takes hold of my arm and pulls me to his side. "I feel the eyes too."
"Where are they? What are they?" I hold onto his arm as I start to breathe a little erratically. Using my free hand to rub at my chest as I begin to cough.
"Hey, hey. Calm down there. We'll be okay." Jake looks down at me as he stops walking. Kneeling down a little as his hand goes to my soaked bag. "You need your inhaler 3 times a day, right? You haven't used it since breakfast. Let's get it out and take a deep breath. Can you get it out?"
I nod my head as I let him take the bag off my shoulder. Trying to take a few shaky breaths as I begin to rummage through everything that I had packed. Quickly grabbing hold of the inhaler the moment I uncover it from under everything else. Pulling it out as I shake it lightly as I look at Jake. He gives a small nod, which help my nerves as I bring my free hand to my mask. Pulling it up just enough, I bring my inhaler up to my mouth and take a deep breath. Pulling it away almost immediately to secure my mask back into place with a deep breath.
Jake rubs my shoulder as he waits for me to catch my breath. Giving me an encouraging nod as holds my bag open as I put my inhaler back inside. "There we go. Come one, we need to keep moving. It's going to be night in a few hours and we need to find a place to spend the night."
I nod my head again as I look back at the trees above. Taking my bag back from him and securing it on my shoulder before we began to get on our way once again.
The sun had went down just a little over an hour ago. The sounds of multiple animals circling around us was all that I could hear as Jake began to sharpen a stick. I anxiously look around the trees to try and find where the animals might come from, but they just kept circling around just past our line of sight.
"(Y/n), look at me," Jake speaks in a slightly stern voice as he grabs my arm. As I look at him, I see the fear in his eyes at the situation. But he keeps his composure as he keeps talking as if he wasn't to begin with. "If anything happens, if I tell you to run, you forget about me and get out of here. You fly up and get into a tree until morning when Grace will come back and find you. You look after yourself and I know that you'll be fine. Do you understand?"
I quickly nod my head to show that I understood. I was going to say something to him, something about how it wouldn't have to come to that, but the words stopped short as the bushes right beside us rustle. I can't even fully comprehend it before Jake began to push me away in the opposite direction as we started running again.
We didn't run for long until the animals began to circle us in. I ended up with my back pressed against a tree as the dog like creatures snapped their teeth at Jake. I shut my eyes as soon as he begins to fight off the creatures. I didn't want to watch if he potentially had to kill a few of them before they hopefully ran off somewhere else.
Just as soon as everything got crazy, everything went quiet. I hesitantly opened my eyes to see Jake on the ground as a Na'vi woman kneels down to one of the creatures. Though I couldn't quite make out what she was saying, I could tell she was mumbling a prayer for the creature. That act alone made me look down and away from her, remembering how Grace told us of how sacred life was to the people.
Jake apparently wasn't informed of that or didn't remember as he tried to get closer to her, reaching out and touching her shoulder as he repeatedly tried to thank her. I had to keep from laughing as she swung her bow and hit Jake right in the face. I didn't do that good of a job as she looked over at me with a small hiss before turning around and running into the forest.
Jake quickly got off the ground and followed after her. I didn't even have the chance to protest as he called out from over his shoulder. "Come on (Y/n)."
I quickly made sure my bag was still closed, I ran after the both of them. Though it was a little harder considering that they were larger and more physically equipped to be jumping around the limbs of the trees.
"Hey, wait up!" Jake called out to the Na'vi as we got to a tree that was decently high up from the ground. He had just caught up to her when she turned around to face him.
"Away. Both of you," she spoke in a quiet tone, but the disdain was evident as she looked between the both of us. Getting so close in Jake's space that he took a step back and almost slipped. I held my breath as I watched Jake try to reason with her, even blocking me from her view by steeping to the side just slightly.
I tried to keep focused on the situation, but something moved closer to us out of the corner of my eye. Turning my head out of fear that another creature had followed us. But to my surprise there were small plant like things floating in the air. Slowly getting closer to us before most of them began to land on Jake. A hand full of them remained floating in the air nearby. Hesitantly, I reach a hand out to them, watching in awe as it slowly landed on my open palm. I laughed softly as it gently tickled my skin while the others continued to float around us.
After a few moments, they began to float away from us. I turned towards Jake with a huge grin at what had just happened. My gaze quickly turns curious as I see the Na'vi looking at us both in awe as well.
She looked between me and Jake before she beckoned us with a wave of her hand. "Follow me. Come now."
Jake looked like he wanted to protest her sudden change in heart, but I lightly pushed against his back to get him to follow her. With a sigh, Jake quickly began to chase after her with me following close behind.
We continue running across the tree limbs that seem to stretch on for eternity. Anxiety and anticipation coursing through my veins as the three of us go deeper into the forest.
"Where are we even-" Jake stops in the middle of his question as something comes in contact with his legs. I watch in horror as he violently falls down to the forest floor.
"Jake!" I call out as I lean over to see if he was injured. But I was forced to stop short as something wrapped around my chest. Throwing me off balance as I fall down to the ground as well, landing just a few feet from Jake. The impact leaves me disoriented as my head hits just lightly against a rock that was barely uncovered from the dirt.
I blink away the blur that comes into my vision as yelling sounds from almost every direction. A pair of hands lifts me up before one removes itself. My body tensing up entirely as I feel a sharp, cold blade carefully press right in between my shoulder blades.
Glancing over at Jake, I see he was in a similar situation with a knife pressed against his neck as they held him by his queue. But my attention quickly shifts again when the Na'vi who seems to be the leader of our ambush committee comes forward. He jumped down from his mount as he began to stalk over to Jake.
When he got just a few feet from Jake, the woman jumped down from the branch. Effectively blocking his path as the two of them began to argue between the two of them. I wasn't able to catch most of what they were saying due to how my head was throbbing due to the fall. What I could tell was that he wasn't happy with our presence and she mentioned something that involved their Tsahik.
The conversation came to a quick halt as the leader got back onto the horse like creature. He gave a short order to the rest of the group, which caused the Na'vi that were holding us to pull us to our feet. The sudden movement caused my head to spin so much that my stomach churned. I kneeled back to the ground before lifting up my mask, throwing up what little content I had in my stomach. Barely having enough time to secure my mask back on before the Na'vi begin to force me to my feet once again.
"Kehe!" The tugging on my arms stops when the woman calls out to them. They quickly let go of me when she pushes them away. She gently grabs my face with a small frown as she turns it to the side. Her voice is soft as she ghosts her fingers over a spot on the side of my head. "You are hurt. Let me help you to Hometree. You will get treated once we are there."
I don't stop her when she awkwardly wraps her arms around my body. Being tentative not to touch at the base of my wings too much as she lifts me up. I close my eyes with a small sigh as I slowly grasp at her words. My voice hardly a whisper when I ask, "We're going to Hometree?"
She shushes me as she begins to run with the rest of the group. I hold onto her with a small whine from the motions, even if I wasn't seeing the sights that were passing us by.
Before long, the movements came to a stop as soft murmuring echoed around us. I open my eyes to see that we had finally made it to the Hometree of the Omatikayan people. Many of them gathered around as the group came to the center.
I gently get set down near Jake, leaning into his side as I sway just slightly on my feet. I take another breath as I hear a conversation happening between the woman and another member of the clan. Making out just bits of what each of them were saying in the broken haze of focus that I had.
"What is he saying?" Jake's voice sounds out like a sore thumb when he asks the question. Though I couldn't tell if he was asking me solely or if it extended to the woman as well.
"My father is deciding on whether to kill you both or not." I frown at the blunt explanation she gave at the question. I barely even had time to register that information when I felt Jake move slightly before yelling sounded and I got jostled around.
My eyes immediately shot open at the motion as my wings stretched out in a defensive manner. This had caused more yelling as Jake pulled me closer to his side. But all the noise stopped when another voice calls out for silence. Everyone shifts their gaze over to see the Tsahik stepping into the center of the circle.
I blink away at the dizziness that I feel when she stands in front of us. Taking a deep breath, I bring my hand up to my forehead as I do my best to greet her without messing up the pronunciation.
When I lifted my gaze back up to her, she had a small grin on her face. "I see you were taught some of our ways. Though I see that you might not know the language."
I look at her confused at what she had just said. Looking up at Jake, I speak in a soft voice, "I swear that I pronounced it right."
"You didn't say anything," Jake told me with a concerned expression.
I blink at him a couple of times before I pointed at him with a serious look. "I believe I have a concussion."
"You believe? What gave you that impression?" The sarcasm dripped from his voice as he looked back up at the Tsahik. My face scrunched up slightly before I looked back at her as well.
She slowly took out a knife that had been resting in her neckwear. She quickly stepped towards Jake as she stabbed into his chest. I cringed as she licked away the small bit of blood that was on it. She looked at Jake with a curious expression before she looked down at me again.
She was about to do the same thing until the younger Na'vi, presumably her daughter with what I was gathering, stopped her before the knife hit my chest. She gently took my hand and pointed to the center of my palm. "One touched here."
The Tsahik seemed slightly intrigued by the statement, but she didn't say anything. She gently poked her knife just enough to collect a small bit of blood on the tip before licking it way with a thoughtful look. She looked between us once more before she addressed the crowd. "The Dreamwalker and the... human, shall stay with us. They will learn of our ways and what it means to be Na'vi. We shall all watch them as they learn."
Multiple reactions sound through the crowd at the choice their Tsahik had made, but she didn't pay them any mind. Instead, she turned to her daughter while saying, "Take him to get out of his demon clothes. I will tend to the child."
"I'm in my 20s. I'm not a child," I spoke up at the comment about my age. I knew that compared to their size I probably wouldn't been seen as a full adult to them. But I had been expecting to be acknowledged as more than an adolescent.
Jake gave me a light pat on the shoulder before he reached into my bag and started rummaging around. "Let's get your head working right first before you argue how old you are. But you're going to use your inhaler first before you get out of my sight again."
I let out a sigh as he pulled my inhaler out and placed it in my hand. Nodding my head at his statement, I took a deep breath before lifting my mask back up and taking a couple of puffs of the medicine. I blink back my dizziness when I put my mask back into place.
Jake takes my inhaler from my hand and puts it back in my bag for me. He tilts my head up slightly so I look him in the eyes as he speaks again. "You do what she says so you get better. And don't fall asleep for at least a couple of hours so we make sure your actually okay."
"Yes, mother," I snark at him as the Tsahik gently grabbed my arm and began pulling me up the steps that they had for the tree. I was mostly nudged up the tree by her until she guided me into a small platform that was suspended between the branches. She guided me to sit down on what seemed to be a woven blanket. She moved around and collected a few plants and a small bowl before she began to grind them into a paste.
She never looked up from her task as she spoke to me in a soft tone. "You are not entirely human."
I shake my head with a bashful grin as I watch her mix the plants together. Leaning forward slightly as I try to get a better look at her process. "Everyone thinks that I have fairy blood or something. None of the scientists could really agree on one theory about my condition. Just that I had a mutation somewhere in my family tree or such."
"You used a human thing earlier. What is its purpose to you?" She continued speaking as she grabbed my chin to turn my head. Gently rubbing the paste against where I had hit my head.
I closed my eyes with a small sigh, enjoying the cool feeling on my skin. Humming softly as I think of how to explain it to her. "It's a medicine thing. I use it so I can breathe normal enough to go on day to day. A lot of humans have the same thing. I just have an extra special condition."
"You can't breathe your own air." Based on her tone, I knew she was making a statement and not asking. I opened my eyes as she removed her hands from my body. Watching as she went over to grab a few bandages and a small bowl like container.
I shook my head as she sat down next to me again. Watching as she applied a bit more of the paste to the bandages. "No. That's part of why I'm here. Grace had thought I could maybe breath the air here with the forests. But that was before everyone knew the air here was toxic to humans. But she still wants to see if I can handle. Grace wants to do a few test before we fully see if I can."
As I finished my explanation, she began to carefully wrap the bandages around my head. When she was done with that, she then grabbed the container and held it out to me. "Drink this. It will help with the pain and let you rest well through the night."
I wanted to argue that I shouldn't go to sleep anytime soon, but I stopped myself when she gave me a stern look. I took a few quick drinks as I repeatedly took my mask off so I could drink however much she saw fit. When all the liquid was gone, she finally took it from me with a small nod. Almost immediately after I put my mask back on for the last time, she began to guide me to lay down on the blanket.
I watch her walk around he area, organizing things as she went. My eyes started to flutter shut with passing second that I watched her before speaking up just slightly in the quiet space, "My name's (Y/n)."
I thought I saw her smile a little as she continued to move things around on a shelf. I heard her voice speak out one last time before I went to sleep. "You may call me Mo'at, (Y/n)."
I begin to wake up to sound of hushed giggles filtering in and out of my consciousness. With a small groan, I opened my eyes to see a group of children standing over me. As soon as they see me wake up, they let out small shrieks before running off towards the bottom of the tree. Effectively dodging Mo'at as she comes into the area with a small basket.
She smiles as the children run by before she comes back over to me and sits down. Immediately lifting me up into an upright position as she begins to undo the bandages on my head. "I see the children have already taken an interest in you."
I smile at her before glancing over at the stairs that lead down. "I guess they do. I'm just glad they aren't terrified of how I look."
"They are young. Your world makes them curious and they have never seen one of your people with your... characteristics."
I laugh softly at the last part of what she said. Looking back at Mo'at, I saw she had set aside the bandages that she put on my head last night. My gaze becoming a bit more serious as I noticed a small bit of blood had soaked into it.
"You are fine. The worst that might happen is a small scar," her voice was firm but gentle when she reassured me. Taking a few new bandages from her basket before rewrapping my head in a slightly more snug way than last night. When she was done, she gave my head a small pat before pushing the basket towards me. I noticed that it had a small arrangement of foods in it as she stood back up and moved over to a shelf. "Take the mask off so you eat. It's not of use to you if you can breathe the air."
"But we don't know if I can breathe the air. Grace hasn't done the test to see if I could." I quickly try to remind her that it was only a theory that I could live without the mask on Pandora. That I couldn't know for certain if it would possibly to even do it for even a short period of time.
"You seemed to do just fine with it being broken while you slept." My breath caught in my throat as I took in her sudden revelation.
I frantically grabbed the small oxygen tank to see that the capacity was at zero. Frantically taking off the mask, my gaze immediately fell on a small bit of glass that had broken off and leaving a small, but still noticeable, hole. I take a few small breaths to see if anything seemed off, but it all was normal as I kept taking deep breaths.
"I'm not dead," I utter in disbelief as I look back at her in confusion. My mouth hanging open as I try to piece together how that could have worked. "But... how?"
"I believe you had said something about 'fairy blood' last night. Or did you not really mean that when you told me?" Mo'at had a playful grin on her face as she glanced back over at me.
"I'm going to be perfectly honest here, after I fell off that branch last night, I don't remember much of anything. It's all a blur besides from getting here, your daughter Neytiri, and a very grumpy man who shouted a lot."
"Tsu'tey. That is the man you remember. Now eat," she spoke firmly once again before taking a few bottles from the shelf and setting down not to far from me.
I shuffled a little closer to the basket and pick out some of the fruit that was there. Taking small bites as I watch her work on refilling the herbs that she had begun to get low on. We just sat together in silence as she did her work. Occasionally, I would interrupt her work to offer her a piece of fruit that she would take with a ghost of a smile.
Our attention is soon drawn to the entrance when Jake and Neytiri come walking in. I bit back a laugh as I take in the sight of Jake, dressed in the traditional clothing and covered in mud with a few cuts here and there.
Jake immediately stops in his tracks when he looks at me with wide eyes. "Where's your mask at?!"
"It's broken." I give him a small shrug before I look over at Neytiri. Watching as she went over to her mother and motioned for Jake to come closer and sit.
"What do you mean it's broken?! How are you not dead?!" He continued standing there in disbelief. Completely ignoring the small glare Neytiri was giving him.
"I'm special or something like that." I grab another few pieces of fruit from the basket and hold my hand out for Mo'at and Neytiri. Mo'at takes a piece before Neytiri does the same with a small nod of her head.
Jake just continues to stare in disbelief as he moves over to sit down. I pass him a piece of fruit before giving him a small pat on his shoulder.
"I see he is learning well," Mo'at comments as she passes some herbs over to Neytiri.
"He's a skxawng," she responded before she crushed the leaves into small flakes before moving to rub it into his cuts.
"What does that mean?" Jake looks at Neytiri, hoping she would explain. When she ignored him, Jake looked over to me with a confused look.
"It means you're an idiot." I give Jake a smug grin when I answer his question. Eating another piece of fruit before I glance over at the entrance. Tensing up when I see the Olo'eyktan and the man known as Tsu'tey walking towards us. Lowering my gaze, I lean towards Jake and whisper to him, "Now, try not to be an idiot and keep your mouth shut when they walk in."
Jake rolls his eyes before looking at the two warriors as they walked into the area. I glance up at the two with a small frown on my face. They both look at me and Jake for a second with guarded looks on their face. The Olo'eyktan soon shifts his gaze over to Mo'at with a knowing look on his face as he tilts his head slightly towards the entrance. She nods her head in return before standing up. Mo'at affectionately brushes some hair out of Neytiri's face with a smile. Then she turned to me and softly pats my head before walking down the tree with her mate.
Once they leave, I look back at Tsu'tey to see him already giving me a small glare. I give him an awkward smile which only makes him scowl even more. "Demon," was all he said before looking back at Jake with an even deeper scowl.
"Hey there buddy boy," Jake playfully quips back as he begins trying to wipe off some of the mud on his chest with his bare hands. Though he didn't do much other than just smear the mud around as he smiled like an idiot.
"Accident," he continued to scowl as he looked Jake over. Clearly unammused by Jake's joking attitude.
"Aw. I think he likes you Jake. You should give him a big hug to become friends." I have a grin on my face as I look between the two men. Taking notice of how Neytiri looked shocked by my suggestion one time as I glanced towards Jake.
"He raises a hand towards me, I will cut him," Tsu'tey speaks in a menacing way as he glared at me.
"I know," I laugh a little as I stare straight back at him. Biting my lip as I try not to grin like an idiot at the shocked look on Tsu'tey's face.
"Okay, (Y/n). Reel in the manic for a minute. I think you're freaking them out with your humanly sense of humor." Jake slightly pushes my head in order to bring me back to the moment.
I roll my eyes with a small pout before picking up another piece of fruit from the forgotten basket. Popping it in my mouth and slowly chewing. Looking at the woven floor as I finally mumble something pointed towards Jake, "Virgin."
"What did it call me?!" My eyes widen as Tsu'tey reaches down and grabbed ahold of the front of my shirt. A small scream coming out of my mouth as Jake and Neytiri both shoot up from their spots. Both trying their hardest to get between us and remove me from his grasp.
It had been a little over a month since Jake and I had gotten to Hometree. He had been training hard as a warrior while I learned more about the plant life from the clan healers. Everything was going well for us as time went on, despite the bad start that I had with Tsu'tey. Though he seemed to be convinced that I was in fact talking about Jake and not him after I explained a few human customs that were common among friends.
Jake even had enough approval within the clan that he was able to get Grace to be able to visit. She was shocked about the fact that I hadn't been wearing my mask since we had gotten there. But she was very happy that I was thriving in the environment like she had always wanted for me. She even told me that in another month, I might finally have a viable Avatar to use if I still wanted it even though I apparently could live without it.
But living amongst the Na'vi didn't mean that everything from my life before them stopped. Especially with my unique genetic makeup.
I went over to Jake as he ate breakfast with Neytiri and Tsu'tey. He looked over at me with a smile as I nervously sat down near the group. "Well good morning. You normally don't come and join our group until it's around time for lunch."
I fidget with my fingers as I look at the group, glancing at everyone until I focus on Jake again. "I need your help with something. And I'm only asking because your a good friend and I have to do this today."
Jake's expression becomes serious as he looks over at Neytiri and Tsu'tey. They both appear confused as well when they look at me for an explanation.
I look down at the ground as I bite my lip. My face heating up as I quickly tell them what was wrong. "I'm molting."
"That's it?" Jake seems in disbelief at what I told him. He even laughed a little as he leaned closer to try and get me to look at him again. "That's not too big of a deal. I'm sure you'll be okay."
I glare up at him as I stare him down. Taking a deep breath as I begin to further explain to him the situation. "It is a big deal. I can molt for multiple days sometimes, but I need to get as much taken care of the first day. If not, I could get infections and intense back pains that could last for months. And that's on top of the pain I can normally feel due to having wings."
The smile on his face faded away as I kept talking. His eyes becoming apologetic as he let's out a sigh. "I didn't know it was that big of a deal. Are you sure it has to be today?"
"I'm very sure. Once when I was in high school, I waited two days because I had to focus on studying for some stupid geometry final. When I finally got it taken care of, over half my feathers were gone, molted and perfectly healthy ones. It took months for them all to grow back and I couldn't even sit up in my bed without having someone help me for weeks."
Jake nods his head a little with a serious look in his eyes. "Tell me what you need help with."
"Thank you," I softly mumble as I sit with my back facing him. Slightly spreading my wings for him to have an easier time with helping me. I take a deep breath as I begin to lightly guide my fingers through the feathers. "You just basically brush them with your fingers and let the bad ones fall out. If there are any that are loose but not coming out yet, leave them be. They probably just need a little time to be ready."
It took a few moments, but I finally felt Jake start to work on the back of my wings. I could tell he was hesitant to do it because he didn't want to cause me any pain. As the time went on and I didn't tell him that it was hurting, he began to get a little more confident with each movement.
There was a decent amount of feathers laying around me when I took a small break to look around. Stopping my gaze when I noticed a group of children looking over at me from around a corner a little ways from us. Most of them a little older with what seemed to be their younger siblings. They kept pointing as they whispered to one another. But one little girl stood out as she just stared in awe while looking between the pile of feather and my face.
I smiled a little as I reached my hand out, gesturing for her to come closer. She seemed a little taken aback by my action, but soon smiled as she quickly walked over. She immediately sat down beside me, leaning against my body as she excitedly reached a hand up to touch one of my horns.
"Aen'ya!" Neytiri trys to scold the girl, but I raise my hand to let her know it was fine. Neytiri looked at me with a sympathetic like look. "She is very trusting. But she also still needs to learn to keep her space."
"She's okay. Kids back on Earth would do the same thing. I'm just glad one of the children is doing something other than just pointing from a distance." I smile at Aen'ya as I speak, happy to be a part of her child like excitement. I gently take her hand and she looks spooked by the contact. But she keeps smiling as I move her to sit on one of my legs and hand her some of my discarded feathers.
As she takes them out of my hand, I look back at the small group to see them all looking back in awe. I wave my hand at them to come join as Aen'ya starts to randomly place feathers into my hair. A few of them start to laugh as the excitedly push each other closer as a couple others run off in the opposite direction.
Soon the group comes and sits down closer by as they lightly reach out and touch my wings. They are extra gentle as they laugh with each little handful of fluff they managed to pull out. By the time they have their own little piles, the others that had run off return with their arms full of strings and a couple of baskets full of other little supplies to do whatever they had planned. Passing everything around as a few of them began to hold up a combination of beads they had to my skin with little giggles.
"Wow. You look like you got dragged into a second grade art class," Jake lightly snickered as he leaned back into his original spot once the kids took over for him to get a couple more feathers.
I make a face at him which causes the children to start laughing. But the seem to take his words as an invitation, because a couple of them grab his arms and pull him to sit on the ground. A couple even go the extra mile and do the same thing with Neytiri and Tsu'tey. Neytiri seemed happy with it as she began to help them with what they each were making. Tsu'tey most just sat there with a soft scowl on his face, but he would pay attention to any of the children if they held up something for him to look over.
We all just sit there laughing with one another as the children continue to work on their projects. But soon one of the boys grabs my arm to hold it still as two girls begin tying something around my bicep. I look at it confused until I realized that they had made me an accessory with beads and a couple of my feathers hanging down. Then a few others do the same thing as they tie an anklet on me with wide grins.
I take a look at both pieces of jewelry to see just how uniquely beautiful they were. Smiling as I open my arms out to pull each of them into a hug as a thank you. They all laugh as they begin to lean into my arms for one big hug.
A warm feeling came into my chest as I just held all the children close to me. Staring at each of them as a sense of peace washes over me. Similar to the feeling I had when I watched the movies when I was young. The feeling that I had finally found the place that I truly belong.

Hi everyone! I hope you enjoyed this little installment. I'm glad for my first request and I'm going to start working on a few other add ons for Silent Treatment and Aggressive Caregiver (I need a masterlist at some point). But have a good day and remember; We are bad bitches, and bad bitches follow boycotting to the fullest. Don't actively give any money to Disney for anything. We're smart and kind people who were raised on revolutions that Disney wrote. I'm sure we can pirate movies from someplace or have the DVDs for the movies. Do your part as best you can. I love you all and stay happy for the year to come.
Synopsis: After getting to the training room, everyone bounds and learns of an interesting dilemma
When we had gotten to the training room, almost everyone was already there getting ready. Mansk had been right earlier when he said most of the guys weren't wearing a shirt for the training they were about to do. It seemed like Mansk, Z-Dog and Quaritch were the only ones that were wearing any form of top.
I quickly spot Spider climbing around on some of the equipment. Our eyes meet as he swings around to change position and he gives me a questioning look. I smiled meekly in return as I move over to him. Barely having to shift my head in order to look in his eyes with how tall the equipment was compared to him.
Spider returns my smile after looking me over for a couple of seconds. Soon beginning to climb around on whatever piece of equipment that was keeping him entertained. "If I think hard enough, it's almost like climbing around in the trees. Minus the leaves and tree bark of course."
I chuckle as he continued to move around with so much energy. I jokingly circle around him, making a few grabbing motions to act like I was going to get him. This caused Spider to laugh and move away to stay out of my grasp. He had a huge grin on his face as he softly hissed, which I returned with my own playful hiss.
"Hey! Be careful on the equipment, kid." We both turn to see one of the guys giving us a stern look. But he wasn't one of the regular Recoms that we had seen on missions with us, so I didn't know how to respond.
Looking at the others, I could tell they were annoyed by him as well. I look back at the guy to see him still glaring at Spider. He didn't seem to be giving up, because he opened his mouth again. "Come on kid, get down. If you break that, it's our asses that get in trouble. And I'll make it your problem if that happens."
"Oh shut up." My eyes widen in surprise as Mansk speaks up. He give the guy a glare of his own as he gestured over to us. "He is a third of the size of all of us. He doesn't weigh near enough to what it takes to bend that metal. So if anyone's going to break anything, it'll be your fat ass."
The room goes silent at Mansk's words, everyone too stunned to speak due to his unexpected harshness. A small gasp rises through my throat as I try to hold back a smile. But I fail as a fit of laughter begins to bubble in my throat as I look at the guy. Soon, everyone joins in as they all look at him.
His face turned purple with embarrassment as he sends me a glare. I smirk at him before reaching my arms up and grabbing the edge of the object. Keeping eye contact with him as I lift myself up to be perched on the top. Everyone laughed even harder at my actions, causing the guy to let out a low growl. My ears pinned back as I hissed down at him, sensing the action was of hostility and not just annoyance.
"What is going on here?" Everyone turned their heads as Quaritch came walking into the room. Most of the soldiers were still snickering amongst themselves as they looked at their superior officer.
Lyle place his hands on Mansk with a huge smirk on his face. Shaking him slightly as he decided to explain, "Well Colonel, it seems that Mansk has recently grown a backbone. Getting into fights and standing up for himself. Even mustering up the guts to call the new guy a fat ass."
"Is that so?" Quaritch's lips quicker up into a smirk as he looked Mansk up and down. Chuckling before he looked over at the other guy. "And what exactly did you do to set Mansk off? And I know it was something before you try to say it wasn't. Because he doesn't just go off like that."
The guy was fuming as he looked at the ground. Clenching his hand in a fist before lifting his gaze to look back up at his Colonel. "I was just telling the kid to-"
"The kid is none of your concern." Quaritch quickly cut him off before he could explain. His ears pin back slightly and his tail stiff as it hung close to his legs. Barely noticeable to the untrained eye, but I could tell it was a sign of dominance and protective instinct. When he spoke again, Quaritch's tone was firm and absolute, "You leave him be and there won't be a problem. Don't start making trouble in a group you weren't supposed to belong in."
The group stayed silent as they closely watched for a reaction for them to jump in. Tension hung heavy in the air as the soldier pointed a finger at the Colonel. "You're losing your edge, sir. Everyone used to respect you and your decisions." He suddenly pointed his finger over at Spider, causing me to reach down for him in an act of protection. Spider quickly took my hand and allowed me to pull him up to sit beside me as the guy continued, "That was until you let your past accident and the little half breed bitch get in your head and you let them make you soft."
My breath caught in my throat as Quaritch grabbed the soldier by the shirt and lifted him off the ground. I held Spider closer as the other soldiers all got a few steps closer to them. Each ready to step in and help if given the order. Quaritch clenched his fist as he looked into his now fearful eyes.
Just as Quaritch began to raise his fist, the door opened as the general walked in with a few researchers close behind her. All the other soldiers looked over at her while she was focused completely on Quaritch. "Put him down Colonel," her tone was absolute as she stood there and waited. The researchers behind her looking uncomfortable as they watched to see how the scene before them would unfold.
It took a few seconds, but Quaritch finally let out a soft scoff before throwing the soldier back to the floor. He turned his head to face his superior as he crossed his arms. "General. To what do we own this unexpected pleasure?"
Her gaze flickered towards the soldier who was scrambling to get back up on his own. "I see how 'welcoming' you are with your new addition, but the scientists need to look him over for something. So he's coming with us for a little while."
"Keep him for all I care. He wasn't worth a damn as a human, now he's just a waste of valuable resources that can't follow basic orders." The disgust in his voice was evident in his voice as he spoke. Obviously, he didn't see much in the new soldier in their past lives or at the present moment. Though it seemed like everyone else shared Quaritch's sentiment, because none of them tried stepping in to defend their new recruit.
The General shook her head before look at the soldier and gesturing her head towards the scientists. "Go with them and do what they say. I don't want to learn that you didn't cooperate. And we will be talking about this later, Colonel." She begins to turn towards the door before her gaze lands on me and Spider. "And keep them in check," she let out one final scoff before walking out the door.
The scientists all gave another hesitant glance around the group before they followed close behind their boss. The soldier was about to walk out the door when he stopped and turned around to look at me again with a small snarl. I let out a low hiss as I held Spider closer to my body. Spider also let out a hiss as he latched onto me in return. The soldier seemed like he was going to say something, but Quaritch took a step forward. That small act alone was enough to make the soldier leave and followed hurriedly behind everyone else.
The room remains tense after they all leave the room. Quaritch let out a sigh before he turned away from the door. He immediately looked at Spider and his expression softened for a few seconds. He looked over at me for a couple of seconds before focusing on Spider again. "You two alright?"
"Yeah, we're good," Spider spoke quietly as he looked over at the door with a far off gaze. I gently rubbed his back as I gave a small nod of my own as I look down at Spider.
I use a hand to turn Spider's head so he was looking at me instead. The frown on his face doesn't leave as he stares at me, clearly taking what the soldier had said personally. I let out a sigh as I gently begin to trace the streaks of blue across his skin. Trying to cheer him up in a small way so he wouldn't focus on the bad too much.
"He isn't worth thinking about." Lyle was the one to break the uncomfortable silence that was left in the training room. Almost everyone looked over at him while he gave a small shrug. A grin tugging on his face as he looked up at us. "If my memory serves me right, he never really had any good skills other than running his mouth. Wasn't even good at any form of fighting even with military training. He even got beaten up by Sully after a night of drinking."
Z-Dog snickered as she gave a small nod. "I remember that night. Even the science nerds joined us for the festivities. Sully didn't even get out of his wheelchair to send him to the ground. All it took was one swing and it was over before even Grace noticed what was happening."
Spider gave them a glance of disbelief as he sat up on the equipment. Keeping a hold on the edge as he looked down at the group. "There's no way. Jake would never do somethings like that."
"Oh, this was Sully before you knew him. Before his biggest worry was where all the kids where when it got dark out." Quaritch cut in with his own nostalgic smirk as he looked between us.
"And if I remember correctly," Z-Dog spoke up again as she pointed a finger towards Mansk. "You instigated him to try and land a hit on Sully. Something about 'free entertainment'."
I have a skeptical grin as I glance over at Mansk as I raise a brow at him. He has a playful smile as he give an indifferent shrug. "I think your memory got warped when you got brought back. I did no such thing." I scoffed at his obvious lie as I watched him raise a hand in defense.
"Alright, that's enough small talk." Quaritch spoke up as he looked over at the while group. His voice was stern but he kept a smirk on his face. "Everyone can pick something to do for today. Tomorrow we'll worry about touching up on hand-to-hand."
Spider moves off of the top to start climbing around again without having to worry about being told to get off by anyone. I leaned over slightly so I could watch him swing around for a few minutes.
With a small grin, I lift my gaze to look around at what everyone decide to do with training. My eyes immediately drift over to Mansk as he lifts himself up by a pole. Keeping himself up for a few seconds before lowering back down to repeat the process. I try to watch everyone else to not seem like I was focusing solely on Mansk. But my attention seemed to draw straight back to him as he continued on with his training. My gaze drifted from his face down to his chest as his muscles strained against his tank top with each of his movements.
I softly bite my lip as I continue to watch him exercise. Releasing a sigh as my eyes drift downwards and I tilt my head slightly. Looking over his body as I begin to take in the differences between his body and a regular Na'vi's. He seemed to be about as muscular as the men I had grown up with, but he was a little bit bigger in size. Mansk also had a wider waist and broad shoulders compared to them as well. Probably due to the fact he was engineered to be a genetic soldier.
The flicker of his tail causes me to lift my head back up. Looking at his face to see him already looking at me with one of his eyebrows raised. My body stiffens as we look at each other, worried that he might think I was perverted for looking at him like I had just been.
But to my surprise, Mansk smirked before giving me a small wink as he started his workout again. I was even able to notice that he flexed his arms a little each time he pulled himself back up. I gave a small smile as I watched as he obviously showed off his physical condition. My own tail flicking slightly at the display I was begin given.
I take a deep breath when a sudden smell catches my attention. My eyes shift around the room as I breathe in deeply again to get another hit of the scent, though it was barely even noticeable. But my body tensed as I slowly realized what the smell filling the air was.
Jumping down to the ground, I walk over to Z-Dog as she lifts weights along with Lyle and Prager. She sends me a grin as she stops her conversation, giving me her undivided attention. "Well, look who came down from her little throne. What's so interesting that it's got you stalking about? You wanna join in?"
I shake my head as I gently push down the weights that she was holding. Z-Dog looked at me in confusion, but puts them down on the ground. I grab her arm as gently as possible as I leaned close to her neck. She tried moving away, but I used my free hand to grab her shoulder to keep her in place. Taking a deep breath, I make a face as I let out a soft groan of annoyance. Having confirmation of what the smell was and who it was from.
"Hey, what's gotten into you? You're acting weirder than normal (Y/n)." Z-Dog's voice sounds confused, but she doesn't move away anymore. In fact, it's like her skin heats up just slightly from the physical contact alone.
Pulling away from Z-Dog's neck, I move my hand to her wrist as I check her pulse. Frowning even more as I realized it was slightly faster than it would regularly be on any normal occasion. Dropping my hold, I let out a deep sigh as I look into her eyes. Giving her a short, but firm, answer to her question. "Heat."
She gives a shrug as she looks at me with a confused grin. "Yeah? It gets hot in here when everyone's working out at the same time."
"No." I blink at her as my mouth hangs open for a second in confusion. Finding it hard to process her way of thinking as I shake my head. Moving my hands back up, I gently press my fingers against her abdomen as I do the same to myself. "Your heat."
Z-Dog just continues to look confused as she turns towards the guys. They have a similar reaction as her while they shake their heads. She let's out a sigh before turning back to me with a frown. Her voice sounding defeated as she speaks, "(Y/n), I'm not understanding what your trying to tell me here."
I frown in return before turning my head around to look at Spider still moving around on the equipment. "Spider!" I call out to him with a small shout, catching the attention of almost everyone around the room. But I keep my gaze on him as I lightly poke Z-Dog again. "Heat."
Spider's eyes widen as he jumps down and hurried over to stand beside me. He looks Z-Dog up and down before looking at me again. "You're certain?" I give him a tight lipped frown as just stared at him. He let out a sigh as he gave a nod. "Of course you're right. How long do you think she has until then?"
"Hold on now," Quaritch walks over with a hand raised as he looked between the three of us. "How about we explain ourselves about what's going on here."
"You don't know what's going on?" Spider and I stare at them, dumbfounded by the fact they had not even the faintest idea of what their bodies were going to put them through. Spider cleared this throat as he began to try and explain, "Well, the Na'vi body is capable of many things. And one of the most unique of them is something that Z-Dog is about to get the chance to experience is a 'heat'. And it's basically a biological thing that causes... needs."
"What kind of needs?" Z-Dog speaks up with a slight edge in her voice. Her tail anxiously flicking near her ankles as everyone waits for more of an explanation. But Spider looked at the ground as his face got red as he thought of what to say.
I let out a small sigh as I look back at Z-Dog. Waiting until I have her gaze before opening my mouth again, "Mating."
Her eyes widen as everyone else looks at me in shock. Quaritch looks at me with a skeptical look as he shifted in his spot just slightly. "I'm sorry, what did you say?"
Spider gives a small nod as he looks back up at the group. "(Y/n) isn't wrong. It's something that all Na'vi go through. It just differs between the men and women. Females have heats ever 8 to 12 months that can last about a week. Males have ruts that can sometimes just pop up that will last for a few days or so. The men are harder to handle because they could span out to happen around the same link of time or even sooner than that."
Everyone's expressions are mixed between shocked, embarrassed, and confused as they hear the explanation. Quaritch takes a deep breath before he speaks up again, "And how long does she have until this... thing occurs?"
"One day. Maybe two," I quickly answer the question as I give Z-Dog a sympathetic look. Feeling upset with her at the whole situation. Especially since I could tell she was going to be the first of all of them to go through this. "The first is worse, but it will pass eventually for everyone."
"Shit," Quaritch mumbled almost immediately after I told him the time frame. He let out a sigh as he looked at Z-Dog with a deep frown. "Come on, we need to get you to your room and have the scientists take a look at you. See if they can think of any reason they didn't see this situation happening."
Before they walk away, I rub Z-Dog's shoulder in an act of reassurance. She gave a weak grin in return as she walked out behind the Colonel to head to her room for the next few days.
Everyone watches as they walk through the doors. I give a small sigh before turning back to the group, to see all of them looking at me directly. I furrow my brows in confusion as I look back at them with a small movement of my head.
"So... are you going to be... heating with her too?" Mansk is the one to ask the awkward question that helps me understand the looks. My expression softens as I shake my head in order to answer him. That seems to make them all look more confused as they continue to stare at me.
"But you're a girl too. Don't these things sync up?" One of the others asked which caused my to look at the ground uncomfortablely.
"All Na'vi have different times that it occurs for them. It mostly just depends on their body and hormones," Spider awkwardly explains to them as I take a step back from them. Crossing my arms over myself as I try to regain some of my dignity with most everyone of the guys looking me over.
Mansk clears his throat before looking over at the door with an uncomfortable look on his face. "Well, uh, this has been a educational experience today. Though I think it might be best if we all call it a day and do our own things. See what the Colonel has to say tomorrow about what to do next."
Me and Spider give nods in agreement to the suggestion that the group was given. Everyone but Mansk, Spider, and me stayed behind while we quickly walk out into the hallway. The air was tense as we all stood there as we thought of what to do next.
"I might... the scientists might want any information they can get about this. I'll tell them all I can that might be helpful. I'll catch up with you later." Spider gives me a quick hug before walking down the hallway to where the labs were. Waving just slightly before turning the corner and out of sight.
"Hey," Mansk's voice is soft as he light touches my arm to get my attention. Looking at him, he sends me a gentle grin as he tilts his head slightly. "How about we get some food. You haven't been eating much today. Need to keep you healthy, you know."
I give a small nod in agreement before following after him down the opposite direction of where Spider went. There weren't many people walking around the hall as we went. As Mansk had once explained, this side of the base was designed specifically for the Recoms and their sizes so most of the regular soldiers avoided it.
We went into the 'lounge room', as everyone called it. It had a few pieces of furniture and those machines that the humans use to store their food and such. It was quiet in there with nobody else being in the area with us.
He walked over to the kitchen area and started to grab some foods to put together in a meal. Some of it was what they were given by the RDA while others were native foods of Pandora. The group had started to adjust to eat food that were part of a natural Na'vi's diet to try and maintain better nutrition than just relying on human food. I was very happy when that happened since I would finally have something that I was able to enjoy.
After a couple of minutes, Mansk slides a plate across the counter in my direction. I smile just slightly as I grab a small bit of fruit he had gotten as I began eating.
"Enjoying the food?" I give a small hum as I glance up at the sight of Mansk slowly eat at his own food. He has a strange smile on face which causes me to give him a confused look in return. His voice is teasing as he takes another casual bite from his own plate. "Probably not as much as you enjoyed watching me earlier, but still..."
A shocked huff passed my lip at the fact he was being so playful with the earlier situation, like he hadn't done anything in turn to make me look. Picking a small piece of fruit, I lightly toss it at him with a playful hiss. "Show-off."
"Hey! I was doing no such thing, you just have a staring problem," he relented back as he flinched away slightly. I roll my eyes before giving him a unimpressed look. Mansk raised a hand before he began to eat at his food again. "Not my fault you can't seem to take your eyes off me."
I give him a playful glare before I begin to eat my own food again. The time passes peacefully as we finish our meal in silence. The both of us occasionally glancing at one another until we were done eating. Mansk took the plates and set them down before walking back to me.
Putting his hand on my back, he gently lead me back to the doors. "We should head back to the room. Let you get some rest. It's been a long day and I think it's going to be that way for the next couple of weeks."
I looked at him with a small nod as we walked out the doors and down the hallway. Knowing deep down that he was right about what it would be like for awhile.

Hey everyone, I hope you enjoyed the chapter. If you can't tell things are going to heat up a little somewhat soon with the series. Let me know you thought, and remember you can request at any time. I'm trying to work on a few other things as well so an update might take a bit but not too long.
Silent Treatment Part 5 ~ Mansk x Selective Mute Reader
Silent Treatment Masterlist Masterlist
Warnings: Small part of verbal aggression, very sad part of back story (I don't know if it's canon or not, but it fits well in the story so it stays)
Synopsis: After some time passes since the group claimed their Ikrans, Mansk and the Reader have an emotional conversation.
It had been a few weeks since the Recoms had each claimed their ikrans. Spider and I had taken the lead on showing them all how to properly care for and respect the creatures. There had been a few incidents the first few days, but luckily it was nothing too extreme. It was all mostly the fact the Remcoms would make eye contact with someone else's ikran and they would get a few stratches.
At the moment, we were all outside as Quaritch came up with formations they would be using to fly as a group. Spider was sitting close to them but he didn't seem too concerned about paying much attention. Probably due to the fact he would be a rider to Quaritch like I would be with Mansk.
I was peacefully sitting with the ikrans close by to get some personal time. Finding a bit of pesce in the company of the familiar creatures compared to how some of the men had been acting recently. Though I just believe that it was how they were choosing to deal with how hard they were being pushed by their General lady.
A small sigh passes through my lips as I roll my neck slowly. Feeling some of the tension crack away from the movement. I only stop doing that when one of the ikrans let's out a quiet noise. Looking over, Mansk's ikran is tilting his head as it blinks at me. I try to remain respectful by keeping my gaze down, but he doesn't seem to like that I wasn't giving him the acknowledgement that was desired.
Moving away from the rest of the creatures, Mansk's ikran came over and curled itself around my body. Letting out a few noises, he carefully nudged my head before laying back down with his head on my lap. I smile down at the ikran before moving a hand to stroke its neck. I feel a small rumble reverberate through its body as I continue to basically pet the ikran.
This goes on for a few minutes before the other ikrans take notice and began to slowly come over as well. They all basically form a semicircle around me before casually laying back down. They occasionally nip at one another when they begin to get too close for their personal liking. But after some time, every one of them was able to find a relatively decent amount of distance between all of them beforeresting again.
I chuckle quietly as I carefully lean back to rest against Mansk's ikran. Being extra cautious so I don't put myself in a situation that could make it feel any discomfort. That also included moving my hand to rest in my lap so I was no longer petting it. The creature seems to not like that as it moves around its head underneath my arm once again. It makes a small clicking noise while gently nudging my stomach before resting on my lap once again.
"What kind of bullshit is that?" I turn my head over at the sound of Lyle's voice, expecting him to be talking about some flying method that Quaritch had drawn up. Instead, he was looking over at me with a look that seemed to be both disbelief and offense. "We almost get our eyes scratched out for looking at the wrong one, and you basically have them all curled in your lap as they take a nap."
Everyone else turns to look over when they hear Lyle's complaints. Half of them have similar reactions to Lyle, but Quaritch and Mansk seem almost impressed by the situation. Spider was the only one with a sad expression on his face, remembering the reason why they were being so kind towards me compared to the rest of the soldiers.
"Maybe it's the fact she's taken care of those creatures before? They could just feel comfortable being around her due to experience." Z-Dog tries to put in her opinion on why they could be acting the way they were. Though I could tell she was even skeptical about her own idea on what was happening.
Lyle scoffed as he waved his hand in my direction. "No, I'm calling fucking bullshit! There is no way she can be doing this without sedating them in some way. Whatever she's doing isn't natural!"
His yelling seemed to awaken all of the ikran, because they all lifted their heads up to look at Lyle. Mansk's ikran had even pushed its body up before letting out a screech. The rest followed after with their own calling, but they stayed resting on the ground for the moment. Lyle's own ikran even hissed at its rider with extreme aggression for his actions.
I quickly stood up to prevent any injuries that could occur for any of the Recoms if the behavior continued. All the creatures turned their heads as they followed my movements so they would be facing away from the soldiers, except for Mansk's. He continued to stare straight at Lyle as if he was about to attack. Moving my hand up, I gently grab hold of the side of its face before turning the creature to face me. Shushing it quietly as it let out a low growl as I rub my hand along its neck. He tried turning his head back around again, but I kept firm with my hold as I put out heads together.
He let out a soft chirp like noise before pushing against my head to move down and nuzzle my neck. A sigh of relief left my body as I looked back over to the soldiers. Most of them seemed to be in shock of the fact I got them all to calm down so easily.
"It's a Na'vi thing. They are just trying to keep (Y/n) safe from potential threats." Spider was quick to explain to the soldiers with minimum details. I give him a look of appreciation for his discretion of their behavior towards me.
"We're a threat to her? Us? The very people who tamed those things and have been training them to follow our orders?" Lyle sounded even more offended by this than he was at the beginning.
Spider shrugged as he tried to explain a little better. "It's just a behavior thing. You won't really get it, but they are trying to keep her from potentially getting hurt. That's really all there is to why they are acting like this."
Quaritch looks over at me again before letting out a sigh. "Alright, I think that's enough for today. Everyone, meet back up at the gym in an hour sharp. I am expecting you to give it your best. If one of you doesn't, you'll be running a three miles in the forest."
Everyone gave one last look to their leader before going to get ready for their training session. Spider gave me one last sad look before walking off with the Colonel into the facility.
Mansk walked over to me with Lyle and Z-Dog following close behind. They stand on the outside of the circle of creatures. I pat Mansk's ikran one last time before walking over to the small group.
Lyle glares over at his ikran as it looks back at him with its head tilted. "Traitor." The creature just let's out a quiet hiss before laying back down with the rest.
I cover my mouth to keep from laughing at him to his face. Z-Dog flat out snickered at him with a small nudge. "Even your ikran likes her more than you. And you two are bonded together for life. That must hurt, buddy boy."
I couldn't contain the small laugh at that passed my lips, causing Lyle to glare at me a little. Raising my hand up in a defensive manner, I mouth 'sorry' as I try to bite back my grin.
"It was really impressive though. How you got them all to calm down like that." Mansk was looking over at the creatures before looking back at me. I give him a bashful grin as I look down at the ground with a shrug.
"Oh look at our animal whisperer being so modest." Z-Dog teased lightly as she nudged the men on either side of her. She still has a smile on her face, but her tone becomes a bit more serious when she continues. "Come on, tell us the secret. How were you able to get them to be so obedient for you? Some kind of food or a way you touched them?"
I start to become uncomfortable with the questions she was asking. I shrugged my shoulders again as I looked back at them. Lyle seemed confused by the change in my attitude while Z-Dog looked at me in disbelief, opening her mouth again to continue pushing the topic.
"I have to grab something from my room before training. Come on, (Y/n)." Mansk spoke up suddenly, but I nodded my head immediately at the chance to get out of the conversation. I gave a small wave to the both of them before following after Mansk.
The walk to his room was quiet, but not awkward in anyway. We passed by a couple of the regular soldiers as we went, receiving a second glance from a few of them. It had only taken a few minutes to get to our destination before he opened the door for me to go in. That was a weird thing about him, he refused to let me enter or leave his room after him. I never gave much thought on why he did it and just went along with it, as he would just wait until I gave up if I didn't do it.
Figuring he was going to change his clothing or something, I moved over to the bed in order to climb onto my bunk. But Mansk stopped me after he closed the door by putting his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him, feeling nervous with the look in his eyes. It reminded me of when dad and mom would sit me down for an important talk.
He opened and closed his mouth repeatedly, seeming to try and find the right words for his thoughts. After a minute of doing this, he guided me to sit down on his bed, which caused me to feel more anxious.
With a small sigh, he looked me in the eyes as he sat beside me. "I know that something is wrong. Spider told us that the ikrans will stay close to their riders until the end. But I haven't seen yours come around here or out in the forest. I know that it would have found you by now to be with you again. You also got a really weird look on your face earlier when Z-Dog was asking her questions. (Y/n), what happened before you joined us? Why hasn't your ikran come around to find you?"
My throat tightens as I look away from him. Holding onto my thighs, I take deep breaths as I try to fight back the memories that flood through my mind. Tears sting at the corner of my eyes as I cry out, "It was all my fault."
Mansk reached over to move my face to look at him again. He appeared concerned seeing me begin to cry from the conversation. The only time I had cried while under his care was the very first night I was captured. And even that hadn't lasted more than a few minutes.
"Hey, it's alright. Just take a deep breath and start wherever you feel comfortable with. Okay?"
I nod my head as I take a few deep breaths. Blinking away some of the tears as I fight to say the words through the feeling of being nauseous. "There was a raid and I was on look out. A sky person ship appeared suddenly and I tried to fly away. But Xenra... she just... she couldn't..."
Mansk cups my cheek when I start to hyperventilate. He patiently waits for me to look back at him again with a soft expression. His voice was basically a whisper when he finally asked, "Xenra was your ikran right?" I slowly nodded my head at the question. "She died in the raid, didn't she?"
I began to sob when he had correctly guessed what had occurred. He pulled me to his chest so he could hold me. I wrapped my arms around him as I cried into his shoulder as he held onto him as tight as I could while he rubbed my back.
"It's okay. I've got you right now. It's just us so let it all out." Mansk's voice was gentle as he consoled me. Just like mom and dad had done the night the incident happened. I tried taking some deep breaths to calm down, but it only made me become even more frantic with my breathing.
"Hey, hey it's alright." Mansk pulls me back just enough so he can place his hand on my chest. "Just take a deep breath in and hold it for a few seconds, okay? Then let it out and do it a few more times. Follow how I do it."
I focus on him as be begins to do the breathing technique. The first few tries ended up with me crying harder than before. But Mansk is patient and went at my pace until only a few hiccups disrupted my newly calm demeanor.
"There you go, baby girl. Everything's alright, you just needed a minute. Just keep breathing and I will be right here with you." His voice was encouraging as he wiped away the remaining tears from my cheek. He didn't push for me to further explain anything about the situation, Mansk just sat with me as he made sure I was keeping my breathing even.
I sniffle a little as I slightly gesture with my hand near my lap, trying to help explain a little further I depth. "Eywa connects all. She feels and welcomes all in death and so animals also-"
"(Y/n), you don't need to explain it to me. The only thing I want to know is if you are okay right now. It doesn't matter if I get an explanation or not, my only concern is you being able feel alright enough before anything else happens outside this room. You got that?"
I let out a sigh as he cuts me off. Feeling an unexpected sense of security with him. Leaning into him again, I place my head on his shoulder as I hug him again. Welcoming his comfort without having to worry about judgment on his end from how I was feeling.
Mansk wraps his arms around me in return, resting a hand reluctantly on my head. "I'm right here if you need me for anything. Just let me know and I'll be right by your side, baby girl."
My brows furrow together as he repeats the phrase from earlier. I frown as I say the words back to him in a whisper, unsure on if I have the correct translation down. "Baby girl?"
He clears his throat softly as he runs his fingers across my hair. "It's just a human nickname that people use for one another. I didn't really think about it before call you that. I won't call you that in front of everyone else, or I just won't call you that if you don't want me to."
"It's fine, just different." I rub my eyes after being able to calm down for the most part. I give him a smile to express my gratitude for letting me get so emotional and clingy. He returns it with his own half grin as he places a gentle pat on my back.
He stands up as soon as he touches my forehead for a second and heads into the bathroom. The sound of running water filled the silence, leading me to believe he was about to take a shower. But it shut off just as quickly before Mansk walked back out with a damp towel in his hand. Tilting my head up by lightly gripping my chin, he began to wipe my cheeks and around my eyes.
The cloth was comfortablely warm against my skin, causing me to close my eyes with a sigh. I heard him chuckle softly as he continued to lightly drag the cloth across my face. "You really like this, don't you? I guess I can't really blame you for that though. I used to love it when my mom did the same thing for me when I was younger."
I open an eye to look at him, only to be greeted with a gentle grin on Mansk's face. He seemed so focused in the moment that it took him a minute or two before he realized that I was looking at him again. I sent him a smile of my own as I leaned further into his touch.
"Feeling all better now?" He tone had a slightly teasing edge in it, but the look in his eyes showed that he was genuinely curious about the answer. I give a soft hum in acknowledgement to his question. "Good to hear. Do you think you'll be up to going to the training room with everyone else around?"
I thought it over for a few seconds before nodding my head to show my approval for the idea. Figuring it wouldn't do much good to be left alone in the room by myself for who knows how long. Mansk gave a small nod as he grabbed the edge of one of the blankets he has on his bunk. He then carefully pressed it around on my face to dry off the water that had accumulated on my skin.
"There. Now none of them will be able to tell that you had cried." Mansk gave a small pat to my head before setting the blanket back down. Reaching over to his nightstand, he grab a water bottle and opened it before handing it to me. "You should drink a little before we get going. I have to change real fast, then we can leave to meet everyone else."
As I took the bottle from his hand, Mansk moved over to the closet to pull out a few clothes and headed into the bathroom. I took a few drinks of water as I patiently sat on his bed. Glancing at random things in the room until the door opened once again and Mansk walked back in a pair of shorts and what I had once heard Z-Dog call a tank top.
I take in the sight of how tightly the shirt fits around his upper body. I had seen him without a shirt on when we would go to sleep at night, but that wasn't a new sight for me. I had grown up with people who wore clothes the represented titles and covered enough to maintain a sense of modesty. However, seeing him in that outfit caused my stomach to churn in a way that I wasn't familiar with.
Mansk noticed my gaze, but seemed to take it a different way than my original thought process. "I know it probably looks weird for me to wear this. But it's comfortable to wear with how hot it can get in the gym. Most of the guys don't wear shirts, though you probably are used to seeing that with the Na'vi choice of clothing. No offense."
I shrug my shoulders at the comment before standing up from the bed. Looking over the outfit one more time before meeting his gaze. Locking eyes as we send each other small grins with our own meanings behind them.
Mansk reached a hand out and ruffled my hair. I swatted his hand away with a playful hiss, causing him to laugh at my reaction while raising his hands in surrender. "Alright, you win. I won't mess your little head again."
Nodding his head toward the door, he put his hands back down with a grin. He walked over and put his hand on the handle before looking back over at me. "Time to go baby girl."

Hey! I know that it took longer to post this than I had said, but some things came up unexpectedly so I didn't have as much motivation to finish this chapter than when I started. And I know it's slightly shorter than the rest of the chapters, but I wanted to give you all something. I will get to work on the next part as soon as possible for everyone. As always, have a good day and enjoy reading!
Hi!! I found your Mansk x Selective Mute Sully fic not too long ago and I love it! It's so well written and the pacing is so torturous (in a good way) I just want both of them to be happy, for Quarich to change and for Spider to be free and happy
Hi! Thank you so much! I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy it so much. When I first started this story, I honestly didn't think many people would like it, but I'm glad I was wrong!
I definitely have a lot of ideas on what to put in the next few chapters. The best part of writing this is that there is a lot of creative freedom with us not seeing a lot of the Recoms in the movies. But there are definitely going to be bits with angst and some extra *cough cough* spice and stuff in the next few chapters if it fits together. But I won't spoil too much for any of you. The next part should be coming in a week or two so keep an eye out!
Silent Treatment Part 4 ~ Mansk x Selective Mute Reader
Silent Treatment Masterlist Masterlist
Warnings: Mentions of past violence, mildly suggestive theme? I don't know honestly, mentions of falling to death
Synopsis: After having a private conversation together, the group sets off to learn the next part of the Na'vi way of life.
The sounds of the forest which had sang a lullaby to send us to sleep, was the same that began to carefully wake me up. A small sigh passed my lips as I started to regain consciousness. I carefully open my eyes to see the boiluminescence of the plant life shine overhead. A ghost of a smile appears on my face while I keep looking at the gentle glow for a minute.
Lifting my head a little, I look down at Spider as he still sleeps soundly. Though he's laying on the ground beside me now instead of on my stomach. He must have moved around in his sleep enough to have slide off of my body. I carefully shift to make a little distance between us before sitting up. Trying to let Spider get a little more sleep before the day had to begin.
I look around to see Mansk sitting up while still looking at the fire that's barely burning anymore. It must have been his turn to take watch before I had woken up. Making sure not to step on any of the soldiers, I carefully move over to sit near him. Mansk turns his head when I get closer to him, but turns his attention back to the embers that cast a soft glow to the surrounding area.
Making sure there is enough space between us, I sit down on the ground and look at the dying fire along with him. Neither of us acknowledge the other as the tension from the day before returns now that it's only us who are awake.
I bite my lip softly as I look out at the forest around us. Trying to find something to help find a way to pass the time until the rest of the group woke up. Though there wasn't much that could be done, due to a lack of the proper resources or the amount of noise that it could make. I almost give up to just sit in the silence until I catch sight of a familiar blue glow a little ways in the distance.
Figuring it was too far for me to go on my own, I lean over and grab Mansk's arm. He seems surprised that I stand and try to pull him along with me. "What are you doing? I have to stand watch."
I give him a stern look as I use all my strength to pull him off the ground. He tries to quietly protest as I pull him along with me, but I ignore what he says to focus on the plant as we get closer. Smiling to myself when I realize it was the right plant I was thinking about.
I let go of him when I'm just a few feet away from the plant. I eagerly go over to it and kneel down to the ground. Moving around some of the leaves to pick a few from the back. When I have a small handful of the herb, I raise back to my feet before gabbing his arm again to lead him back to the group.
When we get back, I gently push Mansk down as I hand him the herbs. Moving over to the almost faded fire, I look at the stones that circle around it. Reaching out, I graze my fingers over one to feel at the temperature of it. Once I'm sure that it's cool enough, I pull it from the circle to set it beside Mansk and me.
"What are you doing?" He voice is curious as I take the herbs out of his hand.
I only give him a smile in return as I place the leaves on the rock. Folding them in half before placing them over each other, I place my palm right on top of them. Then I carefully begin to move my hand in a circular motion as I press down on the rock. Slowly but sure grinding the leaves into a paste like substance.
Once a majority of the leaves had been ground up, I lean forward to grab at Mansk's injuried hand. Making sure to use a loose grip so he understands he can pull away at any time. But he doesn't even try to stop me from bringing his hand closer to my body.
I carefully scoop a decent amount of the paste on my fingers before placing it on his skin. Gently massaging it into his bruised knuckles to make sure not to cause him any discomfort.
"This is a healing method all of the Omatikaya clan knows. It works best immediately after the injury, but will still help keep the skin from scarring." I glance up at him through my lashes to see how he is reacting to what I'm doing. He expression is soft as he watches me rub the paste into his hand. Seeming to be in awe of the abilities that Pandora's wildlife has to offer.
"That's really amazing. If we had know about this when we first got shipped here, I can only imagine how often we would have used this." My ears perk up at his reminiscent tone. My fingers falter for a second when I see a gentle smile on his face as he continues to watch my movements.
I hesitantly let go of his hand as I finish massaging the paste into his skin. Tucking my own hands into my lap, I give him a curious look as I watch Mansk wiggle his fingers as he turns his hand back and forth. Smiling along with him as I tilt my head a little.
"What was it like before?" I try to speak quietly so not to disrupt the calm atmosphere between us. Becoming increasingly curious as to what life for him was like before the war had occurred.
Mansk looked over to meet my gaze for a minute before turning his attention back to the fire that was almost out. A smile tugging at the corner of his mouth as he began to think. "It was alright, I guess. At first, we all were able to get along with one another. Grace had her school and we had our orders for the mineral extractions. The Na'vi even helped us figure out how to do the job the best. We all had this form of mutual understanding that we would try to work together for what we both wanted."
He smile fades a little as he stops to think of what to say next. I notice the shift in demeanor as I realize what he must have been thinking about. Mom had told me about the incident at the school when I became old enough to be curious about those type of things. She had wanted me to know about the cruelty that most humans had in their heart.
Placing my hand on his shoulder, I gently squeezed it to show I understood. He looked back towards me with a look of remorse about what had happened. Letting out a sigh, he shifted in his spot before continuing, "We had been given orders to take care of the Na'vi who destroyed the equipment. And we did our job like always. Soon after that, your dad got here and I'm sure you were told the rest after that."
Silence fall between us once he finishes his side of the story. Leaning my head to forward to meet his eyes, I frown as I whisper, "Did you regret it?"
Mansk turns his eyes back to me as he sat in thought for a minute. "Grace had yelled at every one of us after it happened. She told us about your aunt and how we made a huge mistake handling it like we did. She wasn't even older than you are right now, was she?" I lower my gaze as I shake my head in response to the question. "We killed a group of kids who just wanted to protect their home. And I was apart of it. And I still regret it to this day."
Removing my hand from his body, I turn away to give him a moment to process the guilt he had hidden for so long. Gazing up at the sky as dawn begins to shine through the tree tops. Swallowing a lump in my throat, my tone is full of sincerity, "I don't... blame you for the school."
Neither of us say anything after that. We sit in each other's presence as the sun begins to fill the clearing. The silence is peaceful, as if we both had mutually mended a small fragment of the gap between us.
One by one, all the soldiers and Spider begin to wake up. Most of them rubbed their backs and rolled their necks after pushing themselves off of the ground. Apparently the ground wasn't as comfortable to them even in the Na'vi body. Or maybe it was the fact that they had went to sleep in all of their gear.
Spider gets up from his spot to grab some fruit from the pile they had collected yesterday. He quickly came over to sit between me and Mansk as he held out his hand for me to take one. I give him a smile as I look over at him, only to see he wasn't looking back at me.
Spider stares at Mansk with a soft glare. Looking him up and down with a frown on his face. It seemed he didn't like how close we were, because he tried to make me scoot away by moving closer to me. But Mansk didn't seem to be bothered by Spider's actions, staring back with an eyebrow raised while looking him over.
I gently shove Spider's head to get his attention away from Mansk. When he turns to face me, he looks offended by what I did. Pointing to the food in his hands, I give him a stern look as I waited for him to start eating. He rolled his eyes, but peeled away the skin before removing his mask to take a bite.
Everyone had begun to get their bearings before Quaritch stood up in the middle of the group. "Alright everyone. We still have a lot to do, so eat quickly before we move out for the day."
His voice held a commanding tone that implied and unspoken 'or else'. Everyone agreed as they began to get themselves ready. But that didn't stop Lyle from asking an important question. "Where exactly are we going to?"
Quaritch smirked before looking between me and Spider. "Depends on where our little guides decide to take us. They're the ones teaching us how to be Na'vi. So what's the next step, huh?"
I turn my head to look back at Spider to see him already staring at me. A mischievous grin on his face as he slowly turns to look back at the Colonel. "Well... there is one place that could be useful. Especially if you don't want to walk around everywhere."
My eyes widen when I realize where he is wanting to take them. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I give him a pointed look when our eyes meet again. I was finding it difficult to understand why he thought it would be a good idea to begin with.
Spider shrugged off my hand with a collected look in his eyes. "Come on, (Y/n). They won't ever learn if we don't let them get the full experience. Its not like anything bad will happen."
I roll my eye at his nonchalant attitude towards the situation. But, Spider did have a point about them needing to understand the extent of what being a Na'vi truly meant. Even if it was for a mission, they needed to at least have a chance to actually survive like us.
Spider took the fact I didn't try to argue further as my sign of agreement. Standing up with a smirk as he announces, "Alright. Looks like we're taking a trip to the Hallelujah Mountains."
It had taken about half the day to get to the summit of the mountains. And it had taken us longer to actually climb the mountains. Having to make sure that no one got too far behind or ended up slipping and falling to their death. But everyone managed to make it to the Banshee colony with little complication.
We were crouched behind some rocks as all the soldier were catching their breath. Carefully looking over all the Banshee that are resting around on the walls and rocks. My ears perk up to try and catch any sound from in front of us, but it remains mostly quiet.
Quaritch looks over the Banshee clearly deep in thought. A soldier began to get a gun ready and pointed it at one. Quaritch turns at takes the gun giving a small, "I got this."
I give a silent snarl as he positions the gun against his shoulder to aim for the shot. Spider, however, let's out a small chuckle, which turns the attention of most of the soldiers to look at him. "What?"
Spider gives a small smirk as he says, "I've seen Na'vi child younger than me do this. (Y/n) even did this by the time she was 10."
Quaritch's gaze shifts between Spider and the Banshee before asking, "Sully did it the hard way?"
"What do you think?"
Quaritch let out a small sigh before handing the gun back to one of the men. Jumping over the rock, he slowly made his way over the Banshee he had been aiming for. Pulling his queue to the front of his body as he approaches.
Everyone aims their guns as they get into into a defensive position. I walk forward with the rest, smiling a little at what is about to happen. Staying close to Spider, I grin as Quaritch and the Banshee acknowledged each other with a hiss. And with that, the fun had begun.
The Colonel was throwing punches as the Banshee tried biting at him. Me and Spider laughed as he struggled to stay on its back to make tsaheylu. Watching him struggle to get on the back and hang on as the creature whipped its head around as it kept nipping at the Na'vi on its back.
"Did I mention your supposed to tie the mouth shut first?" Spider was barely able to get the words out as we continued to watch the Colonel struggle with the task.
"Thanks a lot kid!" His yelling seemed to startle the creature, because it immediately twisted itself off the cliff with a screech. Everyone rushed over to the edge as they both got lost in the clouds out of sight. Holding onto Spider, we look over the edge and wait for anything to happen.
We all wait for a few minutes, trying to catch any flash of movement or sound, but nothing happens. Letting out a small sigh, I pat Spider's back before standing up. Walking away slowly with the rest of the ground as they begin to mourn the loss of their leader.
A sudden gush of wind and screech makes everyone turn around. Everyone begins to cheer when they see Quaritch mounted on the back of his newly tamed ikran.
"Uh-huh! That's right!" He shouts before doing a small victory circle near the group before finally landing. Dismounting from the ikran's back, he strides over the the group with a wide smirk. "Who's next?"
Even I grin a little at his ability to actually survive the task with no training. Everyone moves over to congratulate him. Lyle even boosting to largen the Colonel's ego. "Way to go! It couldn't even throw you off fast enough to fly away on its own!"
I chuckle at the statement before deciding to correct him, "Kill him fast enough. Banshee are untamed and demand strength and willpower from riders. They try to throw you off to fall to your death before the bond seals and they become your ikran."
Everyone looks over in shook of my explanation of what had almost occurred. Taking in the fact it was about to be them in that situation I just described.
Quaritch gives me a pointed look before smirking as if he thought of something. Putting his hand on Mansk's shoulder, he turns him to the Banshee that continued to rest in their spots. "Alright sweetheart. Since you're an expert, why don't you help Mansk learn how it's done?"
My gaze flickers between Mansk and the Colonel. Mansk looks very reluctant to be volunteered to be the next one up, but he doesn't try and talk himself out of the situation. With a small shrug, I take my bow from my shoulders and hand it off to Spider. Jerking my head at Mansk in the direction of the Banshees, I begin to walk over to a small grouping of rocks.
Perching myself on the rock in a kneeling position, I look back to glance at him. He cautiously takes off his gun and hands it over to the guy with the hat on before making his way over. Lowering himself to the ground beside me, Mansk turned his head to look over the creatures to maybe catch sight of which one he would bond with.
I let out a small hiss as I reach out and forcefully take his sunglasses off. Mansk rapidly blinks his eyes at the sudden change of lighting. He turns to give me a weird look when I shove the glasses into his chest.
A couple of the guys laugh at my actions, causing me to turn and glare at them with another small hiss. A couple raise their hands as they let out small noises pretending to be scared. They only stop when Quaritch raises a hand up to make them be quiet.
Moving my attention back to Mansk, he gives me another weird look before shaking his head. "You act just like a fucking cat sometimes," he mumbled mostly to himself, but I still managed to make out what he was saying. I lightly shove his head, offended by the statement even if I didn't fully understand what he had meant.
Mansk pushes my hand away as he continues to survey the nearby Banshee. His gazes falls on one that rests near the wall and remains locked on it for some time. After a moment, it raises it's head to look over at us in return.
I hold my breath as it slowly gets up and let's out a small screech, causing the Banshee around it to move away. I gently nudge Mansk to go towards it, but he just looks at me with shock for my actions. "Are you crazy? That thing looks like it wants to use me like a chew toy."
"He is challenging you to be his rider. Now go." I push him again with more force towards his Banshee. Trailing close behind to make sure he doesn't try to back out of the challenge.
"What am I supposed to use to close it's mouth? The kid said we have to do that," his voice is full of uncertainty as he gets closer to the creature.
With a final shove, I stand still a few feet behind him. I look between the two of them before telling him, "Improvise."
"You just so helpful aren't you?" Sarcasm dripped from his mouth as he continued to just stare at the Banshee for a few seconds. After a moment of thinking, Mansk reached for the belt around his waist and began to unbuckle it. The other soldiers began to whistle from behind us as he aggressively pulled it off of his waist.
He let's out a small growl as he fastens the belt so he can try to get it tightened around the mouth when he got closer. The creature seemed to believe that the challenge was accepted from the noise alone, as it had then lunged at him. Mansk had barely managed to dodge its jaw as it snapped close to where his head had been.
He let out a startled grunt as he somehow got his belt so it's loosely hanging around the Banshee's mouth. Tugging on his end, Mansk managed to shut the creature's mouth shut with almost no difficulty. He gave a soft laugh as he gave another harsh tug and pulled it's head down to the ground. Mansk then hesitantly tired to get on the Banshee's back so he could try and make tsaheylu. But it began to beat its wings, making it increasingly difficult to get to where he needed to be.
He looked back towards me in hopes that I would give him advice on how to deal with the situation. I only give him a glare as I aggressively wave my hand at him so would he turn his attention back to the Banshee that was trying to attack him. I hear Mansk growl as he let's up on the hold that was keeping the creature's head to the ground. I almost yelled at him as the Banshee began to lift its head back up.
It seemed that it was apart of Mansk's plan, because he immediately pulled his arm back and forced its head down again. While it was dazed, he jumped on the back while reaching for his queue with the free hand. The Banshee tried thrashing its head around to try and throw him off, but Mansk let's go of the belt so he can get a hold on it. He pushed the head back down as he brought his hand closer to where they would have to make the connection.
Just as tsaheylu was made between Mansk and the Banshee, the creature reared its head up. Mansk grabbed onto its neck with both of his hands so he wouldn't get knocked off and have to restart the whole process over. I held my breath as the Banshee carefully looked around as the bond slowly began to form.
The moment it began to walk forward a few steps, I rushed over to the two of them. Keeping my eyes down, I firmly grabbed hold of the belt to guide them over to the edge of the cliff. Gently removing the belt from its mouth, I give Mansk a small nod as I began to back away.
Mansk reached out and grabbed ahold of my arm before I could move too far away. I gazed at him in confusion as I noticed the pleading look in his eyes. He shook his head a little as he mumbled, "I don't know if I can do this next part."
At first I want to tell him there isn't another choice. That it was how all of the Omatikaya people claimed their ikran. But the way he looked so terrified by flying by himself, I couldn't bring myself to force him to do it alone. With a small sigh, I climb on behind Mansk and wrap my arms around his waist.
Pressing my fingers to his chest gently, I begin to carefully explain, "Feel in here and guide to him fly."
"So, what? I just tell it to jump off and it wi-" With a loud screech, the Banshee flapped it's wings and dived into the clouds. I tighten my grip on his waist as Mansk reaches a hand back and presses it against my back to keep me from falling off.
The Banshee was flying around in random circles as it tried to throw us off of it's back. It almost slammed us into the mountain side, but Mansk was able to pull it out of the way from doing so. Rapidly moving up and down to try and make us loose balance for its freedom. But Mansk is able to maintain his hold on both me and the creature.
It finally let out a small noise before calming down to fly in a straight line. Mansk let out a surprised laugh as he began to guide it to move in different directions. I soon began to laugh as well, feeling the excitement of getting to claim and ikran all over again with Mansk. I closed my eyes as I leaned my head back, just taking in the feeling of flying again.
We circled around for a few minutes before finally going back to the group. The moment we were back in sight, the group cheered and applauded Mansk for claiming his ikran.
The moment we landed on the cliff side, I hopped off the ikran immediately. Looking back at Mansk before he got off himself, I gave a small nod of approval for his accomplishment. He gave a grin in return before getting back onto solid ground again.
The soldier that was holding Mansk's gun came walking up to us with a weird grin on his face. Handing the gun back, he gives Mansk a look as he speaks, "You know, I think you missed your true calling. The way you ripped your belt off was like a stripper if you ask me."
"How do you know what a male stripper ripping off a belt looks like, Ja?" Z-Dog made her way into the conversation with a smirk on her face.
The guy with the hat, Ja apparently, got flustered by her words. He waved his hand around in her direction as he said, "You know what I meant. I just saying he had the energy."
Lyle snorted a little at his statement. "Sure buddy. We bet you know a ton about men having that kind of 'energy'."
All the soldiers laughed along with Lyle. Me and Spider looked at each other in confusion as we tried to figure out what they were talking about. When a moment of quiet came over the group, Spider was the one to make the inquiry. "What's a stripper?"
I noticed the Colonel's eyes widen slightly as he cleared his throat. He sent a small glare over the group before looking at Spider. "Something you don't need to worry about kid."
Spider was about to argue back, but I held a hand up to stop him. Shaking my head softly as I looked at him. If Quaritch had a reason to not want to say it, maybe Spider didn't need to know.
Quaritch gave me a small nod of approval for keeping Spider in line. Turning his attention back to the other soldiers, a smug grin came across his face. "We still have some daylight left before we have to return. So who is going next?"

Hey everyone. I hope you enjoyed the chapter! If felt a little weird figuring out how to write about taming an ikran, but I think it turned out well. I will start working on the next part right away. And as always, feel free to request if you want anything.

Warnings: Preparing the hexapede for eating (its not describe in detail but it's there), violence amongst the guys, somewhat vulgar sayings
Synopsis: After getting back to the group, Mansk becomes frustrated with uncertainty.
"(Y/n), slow down! What do you mean that Eywa chose me? Chosen for what exactly?"
After the woodspire had left, I was quick to grab the hexapede and started walking back to the others. Mansk was following close behind me, though he had a hard time matching my pace now. I didn't look back at him for sometime, until I finally got tired of his constant questions.
I turn around in frustration, to glare at him. "I don't know!" I see him flinch when my voice raises. I'm not surprised though, I had barely spoken to anyone since my capture so it must have been a shock to hear me yelling at him. Pining my ears back with shame, I look at the ground with a frown. "I don't know. Tsahik could tell you, but I can't."
I hear him walk up to me, only stopping about a foot or two away from him. His voice sounds desperate as he speaks, "So what? I just get to walk around like this never happened? I don't even have a chance to understand any of this?"
Looking back up at Mansk, my heart breaks at the pleading look in his eyes. I set the hexapede down as I focus on him. Letting out a defeated sigh, I place a hand on his shoulder. "I would take you to her if I could, but you wouldn't be welcome. I'm sorry." Mansk looks at the ground as both his ear and tail lower in defeat. He doesn't say anything, clearly upset with another situation that he was forced into. Moving my hand down a bit, I hover my hand over his chest as I lean forward a little. Moving my head so I can look into his eyes, I try to give him a reassuring smile. "Maybe you learn soon on your own. It will be fine."
He gave a small nod at my words, though he still looked a little dejected from my answer. Deciding to help clear his mind a little, I remove my quiver from my body to hand back over to him. He takes it with some reluctance as he puts it back to his waist. Leaning down to the ground, I grab the hexapede again. Making sure to have a strong hold, I lift it up again and start walking back to the camp.
The rest of the walk is quiet, neither of us knowing why the events had happened to us with no way of understanding what it meant. I felt even worse that I couldn't even help him get any answers. Grandmother had tried to show me the responsibility of being Tsahik as I got a little older. Though I had never put much effort into it the lessons she gave me, never really connecting to what she was showing me. In this moment, I wanted more than anything to go back in time and put more effort into her teachings. To learn even just enough to have a small understanding of what Ewya was trying to say. That way Mansk wouldn't feel as lost as he did right now. Maybe I wouldn't have felt as hopeless as I do right now if I had just paid attention.
It didn't take us too long to return to the camp, the group having taken care of a few things after we left. There was a decent sized circle of stones to have a fire along with a pile of wood nearby. Spider was in a tree not that far away, dropping down some of the ripe fruits to a couple of the soldiers. I can tell there are some difficulties with the process of how the fruit reaches the ground. Mostly due to the fact some of the fruits lay on the ground, splattered into pieces on the ground around them. I laugh a little at the scene, glad that they were at least making some improvement as they caught most of the fruit that was still being dropped down to them.
Spider looked over at us as we walked back, a wide grin on his face. I set the hexapede down and walked over to the base of the tree. Tilting my head so I can still make eye contact with him. Though he is a little ways in the air on one of the branches, I can see a small twinkle in his eyes. Giving him a look of suspension while I walk closer. As soon as I'm directly below him, Spider jumps down from the the branch.
Everyone shouts in fear the moment he falls down. I reach my arms out, ready to catch him once he gets closer. The moment his weight tugs at my arms as he lands in my grasp, I pull his body to my chest with a wide grin. Spinning in circles as he dangles in my hold, Spider laughs as the world moves around us. Setting him down, I hold Spider steady as I laugh along with him. Enjoying the fact we had the chance to relive a part of our childhood where Dad would do the same with all of us every now and then when he had a chance.
"What the hell was that?" Everyone turned to face Quaritch. He was practically fuming as he marched over to us. He glared down at Spider as he got right in front of him. "What is wrong with you? Do you understand how stupid that was? Do you want to die from your actions? Because it's seems like you do."
No one said a thing as the Colonel continued to lecture Spider. Though Quaritch was trying to look after the boy, his tone was getting to be harsher than necessary. Spider had started to get a far off look in his eyes as he stared at the ground. The words seemed to be effecting Spider more than he's willing to let on for the soldiers.
Stepping between the two of them, I give Quaritch a pointed look. "Enough." Though only one word is spoken, my tone tells him all the words that need to be said.
He glared at me before moving his gaze back to Spider. Seeing the dejected look in the boys eyes, his ears flicked in what I believe to be either annoyance or understanding. It was hard to tell with his unreadable expression. He let out a small huff, turning to the side. "Next time, think it through all the way."
"Alright. Whatever," Spider's voice is distant when he responds. I turn back to him, placing my hand in between his shoulders. Gently guiding him to where the fire will be set up, I glare at Quaritch when I walk past him. No one's tries to say anything about the situation, focusing instead on picking up the fruit that they had gathered.
Sitting Spider down, I tilt his head up so he has to look at me. Though he still looks down at the ground even as I try to get his attention. A deep frown is on his face, clearly upset by what just happened in front of everyone. I frown along with him, trying to think of a way to make Spider feel better.
A mischievous grin spread across my face when the perfect idea comes to mind. Leaning towards his ear, I speak softly so none of the soldiers can hear. "I can find a large insect and put it on him while he sleeps."
Spider whips his head around with a shocked look on his face. When he sees the seriousness in my face, he begins to grin from ear to ear. "You wouldn't dare do that."
I give a small shrug as I continue to smile as I discreetly point over to a fallen log, slowly starting to decay. I give him a knowing look which causes him to laugh loud enough to draw attention from a few of the soldiers. I push him lightly as I shush him while trying to hold back my laughter as well.
"What are you laughing about over there sweet cheeks?" My tail flicked in annoyance as I heard Lyle's voice sound from close behind us. Turning around, I hiss at Lyle as he walks over to us with Z-Dog and Mansk following close behind.
Spider's speaks quietly as they get closer, not wanting to be overheard, "I'll take care of yours if you take care or mine."
"Deal."
"Oh Lyle, I think she's going to actually kill you this time," Z-Dog pushed him with a teasing smile. They came over to us, sitting down around us. Mansk sits on the other side of Spider while Z-Dog takes her place next to me. She hands me some of the fruit before taking a small bite of her's. I start picking away at the peel before taking a bite myself. Glad to finally have something edible to eat since we got captured.
Lyle laughs a little as he watches me take another bite. "Did you going hunting for one hour really make you that hungry?"
"She hasn't eaten since yesterday you idiot," Mansk pushes Lyle by the head, clearly still pissed from what had happened. I frown softly at the change from his normally calm attitude. Z-Dog is quick to pick up on the change as well, sending me a questioning look.
Lyle seemed to enjoy how touchy Mansk was with his attitude. Deciding to mess with him, Lyle throws his arm over Mansk's shoulder. He leans over and speaks loud enough for the whole team could hear. "What's wrong buddy? Are you just pent up because you have a pretty girl around you all the time and you can't take care of yourself? Do you just need to get laid?"
Mansk is on Lyle before any of us can react. Mansk throws multiple punches at Lyle's face. Z-Dog and I both scramble to separate them as Lyle throws his fist up to defend himself. They both do damage to one another, but Mansk seems to do more due to how angry he is right now.
I manage to grab hold of his arm and secure my grasp on it so he can't throw another punch. Z-Dog got his other arm before pulling him with all her might. I quickly shove him towards her, knowing I wouldn't be able to maintain my hold on his arm if I tried pulling him off. Luckily, Mansk stumbled off of Lyle on the first attempt with the efforts we put in.
The rest of the soldiers had come over as well, standing between the two of them to make sure nothing else happens. Quaritch walks over with his tail flicking in irritation, though his face appears to be blank from any emotion. I get off the ground and stand in front of Spider as a small feeling of unease settles deep within my stomach the closer Quaritch gets.
Quaritch looks between both of his men after they got lifted off the ground. His voice is eerily calm as he addresses everyone, "I'm starting to get really tired of this. This is the second lecture I've had to give in the span of 10 minutes. The first was for the safety of the kid. Now I have two of my best soldiers beating the shit out of each other. Though I can't say I'm too surprised about that." He looks over at Lyle with an expression of displeasure. "Next time you say something like that, I will watch as you get your ass handed to you. And you," he turned his attention to Mansk. "There better not have to be a next time. If you get angry, do something else to let it out. Am I understood?"
Both of them gave disgruntled noises of understanding to their Colonel. Lyle wipes away some of the blood that falls from his nose with a small grunt. Mansk flexes the hand that he used to hit Lyle with, glaring down at the ground. The tension was still there between them, but the words from Quaritch seemed to dissuade them from acting out again.
Spider hesitantly stepped out from behind me, deciding to change the topic away from the two of them. "Maybe we should start preparing the kill so we can cook it. I can show you all how to do it if you want. That way we can eat soon."
Quaritch looked down at Spider, considering his words carefully before giving a small nod. "Alright. Everyone, gather round and pay attention to what the kid shows us."
The soldiers followed Spider and kneeled down around him as he began to explain the proper way to prepare the hexapede. Instead of joining the group, I went over to the circle of stones.
I carefully put some of the firewood everyone had gathered into the center. Then I walk around to gather some dried leaves that had fallen from the trees to put underneath the pile just a little bit. After getting that ready, I look around and to find a couple of smaller sticks just a few feet away. Leaning over to grab them, I set them down close to the pile I had set up. Placing two of the sticks to make a cross, I set them on top of the leaves. Taking hold of the third stick in between the palms of my hands, I place the end against where the twigs intersect. Carefully rubbing my hands back and forth until the first sparks of the fire begin. I only stop once the leaves catch fire and it reaches upward to engulf the rest of the wood.
Sitting back, I watch the fire and make sure that it actually remains lit instead of fading out. Watching as the flames slowly start to consume the wood as it begins to crackle under the heated pressure. A small sense of longing fills my heart as the heat of the fire slowly spreads to the surrounding area.
Glancing over at the group, I smile as I watch Spider carefully go through the motions of getting the hexapede ready for cooking. Some of the soldiers grimace at how detailed the explanation is becoming as they sit there and watch him carefully gut the animal.
Z-Dog put her hand over her mouth and turned her head away from the sight. My brows furrow with concern as I move to kneel beside her. I place a hand on her shoulder as I give her a questioning look. She only gives a small nod of her head before turning back in order to keep watching Spider's movements. I keep my hand on her shoulder, rubbing small circles against the skin as a form of comfort. Knowing deep down that this was still so new for all of them as they weren't raised to live like us. And they all were dealing with it differently from one another.
The next few minutes were spent in silence as we all watched Spider finish up with practiced ease. He was always exceptional when it came to hunting and preparing the prey that the clan had caught. It was one of the few things that had made the clan acknowledge him as more than just the spawn of the demon that destroyed our home long ago. He always took pride in helping with the hunts however he could as he began to grow up.
The moment he finishes, Spider leans back with a triumphant look in his eyes. He looks over to me for a split second, and I give him a small nod of encouragement. Trying to show that I was proud of him for giving an demonstration over something that he had never explained to a group before.
He quickly stands up before looking at the group with a grin. "And that's how it's done. The only thing left to do is to cook the meat. Looks like (Y/n) already got the fire started so that's one less thing we will need to do." He gestured for the soldiers to grab the hexapede as he walked over to the fire pit. "Come on, I'll show you the proper way to cook it."
Almost everyone stands up and follows behind Spider over to the fire. Two of the men who I never got the names of grab the hexapede and move it over so they can begin cooking.
I continue sitting with Z-Dog as she leans her head away from the scent at now hangs in the air. Wrapping my arm around her shoulders, I encourage her to stand up as I slowly rise to my feet. She follows my lead and gets up after about a minute. I carefully guide her over to the fire so we sit off to the side of the group. None of them seemed to have noticed we joined them after they had sat down. All of them seemed to be focused on Spider's explanation on how to cook the meat.
Mansk seemed to notice our late arrival as he was on the outside of the group. He looked between Z-Dog and me with a flicker of concern in his eyes. He opened his mouth to speak, but Z-Dog bet him to the punch. "I am perfectly fine. It was just an unusual thing to experience. So leave it be."
I let out a quiet laugh at the interaction between the two of them. The dynamic of the whole team seemed to be that of siblings as I began to think about it. The way they fight with one another one moment and then being so caring just a few minutes later. They all practically act the same way that my family acts with one another.
I started to think about my brothers and sisters as I made that realization. Wondering what they might be doing right now and where they might be at this moment. Knowing Dad, he probably moved the family somewhere safe so Quaritch wouldn't be able to find them. I wish I was with them right now, but I know going after Spider was the right thing to do. Who knows what the situation would be like if he was all by himself.
"Hey (Y/n). Are you good?" I turned my attention to Mansk as he spoke. Giving him a slightly confused look, I nod my head to his inquiry. He raised an eyebrow as he continued to look at me. His voice sounded skeptical as he continued to ask, "Are you sure? Because you were pretty out of it for a minute there. Me and Z-Dog were both trying to get your attention."
I become a little flustered when Z-Dog nods her head in confirmation. Looking down at the ground as I shift in my spot to create a little distance between us. I give another small nod in response to his concern about me, though it probably wasn't convincing to either of them.
Mansk dropped the subject though as he reached out to pass me his canteen. I lifted my head a little to give him a thankful look as I take it from his grasp. I take a few sips of water before handing it back to him. Mansk takes it out of my hands before taking a drink himself.
I stare at his hands as he does so, focusing on his knuckles that are finally beginning to scab over from bleeding. A small sense of guilt washed over me as he carefully flexed his hand like he did earlier. Feeling like I had inadvertently caused some of the pent up aggression due to our earlier discussion. I slowly began to wonder if I could have said something different to make him feel a little better about the whole situation.
I begin to replay the fight in my head as a sudden though comes to my mind. Gently tapping Z-Dog's shoulder, I wait until she turns towards me with look that mixed between curiosity and concern. My brows furrowed as I leaned close to her as I began to rethink about what I wanted ask. Taking a deep breath, I spoke quietly so most of the group wouldn't be able to hear, "What does 'get laid' mean?"
Mansk was taking another sip of his water as I asked that. I hadn't know that he had heard me until he started to go into a coughing fit. Z-Dog tried to hold back a laugh as he started to hit at his chest to try and catch his breath. A few of the guys looked over at us with confused glances, but quickly turned there attention back to the fire.
I look between the two of them, unaware of what had caused him to have that type of reaction. Z-Dog let out a small cough to cover up her laugh as she looked back at me. "It's a human phrase, you probably haven't heard it much with how you grew up. It basically means you have sex with someone."
A deep blush rises to my face as I take in the information. Realizing the depth of Lyle's words and now understanding why Mansk had gotten so frustrated by it. I glanced over at Mansk to see him having a bit of a similar reaction. However, he was glaring over at Lyle with enough hatred that I thought he was going to start another fight.
"It's a natural thing for anyone to do. You should not be ashamed of that," I try to make him feel a little better about what had happened. But it is harder to do knowing I had been implicated as the recipient of what Lyle had said. He was definitely going to get it again and some point, and I was going to make sure it was by my doing.
Mansk looked over at me with a mortified expression when he heard what I said. I give a small shrug of my shoulders as I stare back at him. Unsure of how else this conversation might go. Z-Dog clears her throat in order to get our attention away from the awkward moment.
"Okay. That's enough of wherever the fuck this conversation is going. It will be less awkward to just sit in silence and look at the fire as the..." She vaguely gestured over to the hexapede that is particularly finished cooking, "Thing finishes cooking. That way we don't have to talk about anything like that again."
I give a small nod of agreement, turning my attention back towards Spider as he sat on the other side of the fire. Carefully explaining how to tell when the meat is ready to be served. He seemed so confident as he talks about different ways the animal can be used without being wastful of any of the resources.
I smiled a little at how thorough he was being with what exactly he was telling the soldiers. Clearly, he was happy to know more about the ways to live and survive on Pandora than the soldiers. I felt proud for him in turn, knowing he deserved the chance to show off his knowledge to people who would actually pay their full attention to him. The people of the clan normally gave him the bare minimum of their time most of the time. He deserved the attention the soldiers where giving him, even if it was just so they didn't end up dying at some point while they're on this mission.
"You really care about the kid, don't you?" I turn to Z-Dog in confusion at the sudden question. She looks between Spider and me before she continues, "I mean, you could have gotten away when you had the chance. But you willingly let yourself get captured just so you could stay close to him. I guess what I'm actually trying to understand about that is... why did you do it?"
I felt confused at what Z-Dog had asked. I thought of what exactly I was going to say, but nothing seemed to come to mind after being put on the spot. But Z-Dog sat there patiently, waiting for me to find the answer.
Giving a small shrug, I look back towards Spider. "He's family. It was the right thing to do."
The conversation doesn't continue after that point. I keep my eye on Spider as he begins to cut of chunks of the meat to put on some leaves he had gathered. He begins to pass the leaves around to the soldiers one at a time. After everyone else has a leaf, he grabs the last two before he gets up and walks over to us.
He sits down beside me and holds out one of his hands for me to take the meat from him. I give him a smile as I take the food out of his hand. Pinching some of the meat between my fingers, I take the first bite as I look at everyone else to get their reaction of the taste.
A few of them make a face close to discomfort as they chew the meat, but they keep eating it nonetheless. They all just seem to be unused to the texture of it than the taste. Everyone just sits in silence as we all eat as eclipse began to slowly drift across the forest.
The fire cast a gentle glow around the group as we all begin to finish eating. My gaze wander over to Mansk as he shifts around in his spot. His face is softly illuminated by the fire, causing his features to appear gentler than compared to daylight. The soft luminescent specks on his face mixed with his smoothed out features made him look like he was always like this. As if Mansk was born in the Na'vi body that he has.
I didn't realize how long I had been staring until Mansk turned he head over to look at me. We locked eyes for a few seconds before I look away out of embarrassment. Clearing my throat, I look back at Spider with a small grin. He has his eyes squeezed closed as he chews at his cheek. A sign that he was tired and was trying to fight it. Just like when we were all children and my siblings and him would need a nap.
Moving to lay down on the ground, I pull Spider towards me so his head rests on my stomach. He whines a little as he lowers his body with me. Running one hand over his hair, I gently rub his back with my other. Slowly becoming tired with him from the excitement of the day.
"I see our little guides are ready to turn in." Quaritch speaks with a small smirk when he looks over at us. I send him a small glare at his tone of voice, but quickly turn my attention back to Spider. "It's been a long day. Everyone will take a watch for one hour during the night. I'll go first so everyone lay down. You know the order in which you all will go next."
Most of the soldier mumble in understanding as I move to get comfortable. Letting out a sigh, I close my eyes as I hold Spider closer to me. Letting my dream begin to guide me through the night as the forest sings a lullaby for all to hear.
~Hey everyone! I hope you enjoyed part 3! I will try to work faster on part 4 to get it out hopefully by mid September. Feel free to request if you want anything outside of this series and I will work on it when I can!
Silent Treatment Part 2 ~ Mansk x Selective Mute Reader
Silent Treatment Masterlist Masterlist
Synopsis: After agreeing to join the Recoms on their mission, they set off to explore the forest of Pandora.
Warnings: Vivid bad dreams, minor panic attack, description of hunting and animal death
I had been tossing and turning most of the night, unable to close my eyes for quite awhile. There seemed to be no way to get comfortable in the human made bed. Though after a few hours, I was able to lull myself into a somewhat deep sleep.
I didn't dream of much, but I did think of my family. I thought of how worried my mother might be. The terrified look on Tuk's face as she was grabbed. The crack that had punched it way through to Spider's mask after he had fallen. That one kept coming back repeatedly through the night. Each time worst than the last. Images of what could have happened if it wasn't just the crack. Sometimes, glass was cutting just face, others it had shattered completely as he suffocated on the air around us.
I slowly began to gain consciousness as my body was moving almost aggressively. It stopped for a moment, before I felt someone touched my wrist. I jerked awake as I moved away from the feeling, pressing my back against the wall. Letting out a angry hiss, my heart beats against my chest as adrenaline coursed through my veins. I blinked rapidly while trying to get my eyes to adjust to the lighting in the room.
"Hey, hey it's okay! You're alright. Everything's alright, (Y/n)." His voice hits my ears before I can actually see him. My eyes slowly adjust to see Mansk staring up at me with concerned look on his face. He holds his hand up as I begin to calm my breathing down. My heart still hammers in my chest as I focus on his eyes. They felt so comforting as I sat there, just looking directly at him. As my body started to calm down, a sob forcing its way out of my throat. Slumping forward, I held my body up by leaning on my elbows as tears start falling out of my eyes. I feel Mansk place his hand on one of my shoulders, rubbing small circles through the fabric of his shirt. "It's alright. You just had a bad dream. Everything's alright, just take a deep breath."
Gasping between each sob, I claw at the sheets as I continue crying. He continued rubbing my back, trying to help me calm down in whatever way that he could. Slowly but surely, my breathing started to even out as my eyes started to dry up. Pushing my body back up with a shaky breath, I wipe my face with the back of my hand. Sitting up fully, I rock back and forth gently as I try and calm my mind from the intense emotions I just went through.
Mansk slowly moves away from the bed to grab some things around the room. I feel him look at me occasionally as he moves from one place to the next. After a few minutes of doing whatever he's focused on, he returns back to look up and over the railing again. Reaching up towards me, he holds out an open bottle. "You should drink some water. It'll help calm you down so you can get ready. We still have some time before we have to leave."
I reach out to take it with shaky hands. Bringing it to my lips, I take a few small gulps before taking a deep breath in after I pull it away slightly. I breath slowly as my heart begins to beat regularly again. Taking in a few more drinks, I hand the bottle back to Mansk. Rubbing my eyes, I groan at the pounding that is starting to form in my head.
Taking the bottle back, he put the cap back before moving to place it down on his desk. His attention was back on me again, though he did keep a bit of distance between us. "Are you okay?" His voice was soft as he questioned how I was doing. Giving a small nod, I moved to sit on the edge of the bed. Looking down towards him, I give Mansk a small smile in reassurance.
Jumping down, I land a couple of feet away from him. Standing up straight, I feel his shirt rub itself against my upper thigh. A small blush begins to form on my face as I take it off quickly. I was embarrassed that I hadn't taken it off while I was still in the bed. Once it's over my head, I practically shove the clothing into his hands. He seems shock by the sudden mood change, but takes the shirt back without complaint. Turning my attention away from him, I fix my top to make sure it isn't out of place.
Once I'm sure that my top is covering everything properly, I look back over at him. He appears flustered at the fact he had just watched me grope myself. I give him a confused look, not understanding why he was so embarrassed as it was a normal thing to do for the clan if incidents ever happened. He quickly cleared this throat, seeming to want to change the conversation as soon as possible. "We should start getting to the meeting point. Do you need anything to eat?"
I shake my head at his question. I remember eating some of the sky people food Norm and Max had made once when I was younger. I didn't care much for the taste back then, and they actually put thought into what they were making. I doubt that I want to know what these sky people deem as 'eat able' for their 'Na'vi' soldiers.
Mansk takes my answer without question though, moving around the room to grab the last of what he need before moving to the door. Pulling it open, he let's me go into the hallway first. When I step out, I noticed that not that many people were hanging around like the day before. Though, it could still be fairly early for a majority of the people that were working in the building. Once he made it out into the hallway, he closed the door and started walking away.
I make sure to follow close behind, not wanting to get lost in the maze like halls. His steps are confident as he leads me to the area where we are supposed to meet everyone else at. It does take a few minutes, but eventually we get to a certain hallway. Multiple doors run on one side of it while the other has only one set of double doors. My ears strain at the sound of the outside world just past the door, wanting to be there again.
Mansk went to one of the doors on the opposite wall, pushing it open as he turns towards me. Looking between me and the double doors, he gives me a somewhat questioning look. "I'm going to get ready. You can come in here or stay out here and wait. But don't go outside until I'm done, alright?"
I give him a small nod in understanding as I lean against one of the walls. It apparently pleases him, because he immediately goes into the room and closes the door. Resting my head against the wall, I let out a small huff as I begin waiting. I heard loud voices come from the room once Mansk had walked in, but they were muffled extremely. So I didn't know what kind of conversation was happening in there. There wasn't much other noise in the complex other than that though. I stood there in silence for a few minutes waiting for almost anything to happen.
The distant sound of footsteps hitting the ground cause my ear to perk up at the sudden noise. Looking in the direction it's coming from, I wait to see who will walk into view from around the corner. When I see the blue body of a soldier followed by the body of a human boy, a small smile spread across my face in relief. Once Spider notices me, he runs over to me to wrap is arms around my waist. I hold him close to me as I gently rub his back, happy to have him in my sight again.
Quaritch walks closer to us, an amused smirk present on his face. I give him a small glare, noticing that he is already in all of his gear, minus the weapons. I give him one last look before turning my attention back to Spider. Pushing him back just enough that I can get a good look at him, I begin to check his body for any form of injury he could have gotten since yesterday. I take notice of his mask that is hooked onto the string of his loincloth along with the oxygen tank it's hooked to. Taking a good look at it, I make sure that the glass is scoff free.
Spider pulls away as I continue to look over him. He laughed at the concern I was showing, not knowing why I was incessant to check up on him. "Calm down, I'm okay (Y/n). It was just one night, it's not like I was locked outside by myself."
Giving him an unammused look, I pull away from him completely. I finally felt convinced that he was unhurt since Quaritch took him to wherever he did yesterday. Before anything else could happen, the door opened up as Mansk, Lyle, and Z-Dog all came out with one another. They all have their gear on minus the weapons, just like the Colonel.
Lyle smirked as he saw me standing there, clearly still in his mood from yesterday. Z-Dog quickly took notice and shoved his head as she moved past him. I smiled at the look on his face when Z-Dog pushed him slightly. Mansk moved over to stand next to me, his glasses resting on top of his head.
Lyle takes notice of how soon we are by each other again. His voice sounds disturbingly sweet as he gives a stupid smirk, "Aw, look at the cute little couple. They can't stand to be away from one another."
"Back off Lyle. You're just mad that she called you out in front of the team yesterday," Z-Dog tried to shut down Lyle, clearly unimpressed that his attitude was still the same from the night before. At least she wasn't the only one who felt that way. Spider was glaring up at Lyle after the comment left his mouth. He clearly didn't like the way he was still treating me from the night before.
Before the conversation could go any further, Quaritch started heading towards the double doors. "Alright that's enough. Put your mask on kid, we're going outside."
The rest of us followed after Quaritch so we were standing by the door as we waited for Spider. He rolled his eyes, but reached down to put his oxygen mask on.
Once he was sure it was secured correctly, he joined the rest of us at the door. As soon as he came to stand by us, Quaritch put in a code to the keypad beside the door. They soon opened, allowing everyone to walk into the small pace the was used to separate the base and the outside. Quaritch was the last to walk in, making the door close by pressing another button. Once the door was sealed, the pressure of the room shifted, no longer feeling like what it was like in the building. It felt like the atmosphere that I was born to live in. Just before the second set of door opened, I place a hand on Spider's shoulder to pull him a little closer to me.
Once the door opens up to the outside world, the both of us immediately walk out of the small space. Making sure that I'm still within a decent distance from Mansk, we watch as the soldiers begin to grab their weapons from a row of lockers that line one part of the wall. Checking out the surrounding area, I notice a few of the soldiers from yesterday standing around. They all seem to be ready to go, but not everyone seems to have arrived on time.
Once everyone had grabbed their weapons, they moved to join the rest of the group. I tried to lead Spider towards them, but he stayed in place with a confused look. "Are we not getting our bows back?"
Quaritch stopped walking, turning to face us slowly. He had a thoughtful smirk on his face as he looked between me and Spider. When he finally spoke, his tone was serious, "And why would you need them to begin with?"
"To go hunting. The food you guys have to eat sucks." I smiled at Spider's response, proven right about choosing to not eat earlier. Though I thought that was a reasonable enough response, Spider added another good point, "Besides, we need to be able to protect ourselves in case something happens."
Quaritch seemed to think for a second, letting out a small chuckle once he came to a conclusion. Walking back to the lockers, he opened one and pulled out one bow and the arrows that went with it. Walking over to us, he held out my bow for me to take from his grasp.
As I reached out, he started speaking again, "(Y/n) will get her bow back. And she'll only use it if given permission to do so. Mansk will keep ahold of your arrows until you need one. Spider, you'll be sticking with me, so you won't need anything."
I glare at the man as I finally take my bow from his out stretched hand. I wasn't impressed that he wasn't giving Spider anything to protect himself with while we out there. And the fact he was giving Mansk more control over me than was needed. I rolled my eyes in annoyance as I put my bow on so it was resting on my back.
Looking down to see Spider's reaction, I could tell he was upset with the decision. Before he could say anything that could get him in trouble, I gently squeezed his shoulder before pushing him towards the rest of the group. I let go of Spider as I go to stand off to the side of the group with Z-Dog. Her face remained neutral for the whole ordeal, but her eyes did hold a small bit of sympathy.
With the situation settled to his liking with no vocal complaint, the Colonel clapped his hand together. "Alright, now that that's settled, let's get started."
When we finally made it to the forest, the group had begun to explore the forest slowly. They were trying to learn how to 'act like Na'vi' so they could find my family, like their leader had advised them to do. Most of them were clumsy as they walked, but they were slowly figuring out how to move through the forest without much incident. Spider was helping lead the group with Quaritch, while I stayed towards the back to keep an eye on everyone. I wanted to try and make sure none of them did anything stupid while they were out here.
Mansk was walking along side me, though he made sure to keep a few feet between us. Out of everyone else, he seemed to have the least amount of trouble as we got deeper into the forest. I would look over at him occasionally, just to check and see how he was doing. If he noticed me looking at him, Mansk didn't say anything about it. In fact, it seemed like we both had an unspoken agreement that we wouldn't actually acknowledge one another after he was put in charge of my arrows. I knew it wasn't his fault or choice, but I still had the right to be upset about what happened. And he was willing to be the person that I was angry at.
In front of us, Spider had stopped walking as he got to the center of a small clearing. Everyone gathers around him while he looks around for a second. Once he is satisfied with what he sees, he looks up at Quaritch as he begins to explain, "We should make camp here for the night. Eclipse will be in a couple hours so we have time to prepare. We can gather fire wood and forge for some fruits."
Some of the soldiers seemed uninterested in spending the night out in the open. Quaritch however, gives a small nod in agreement to the suggestion given to him. "Alright, we'll set up camp for the night. But I don't think fruit will be enough to feed everyone. Got any bright ideas on how to fix that dilemma?"
"I will go hunt for food." Everyone turned to look at me once that statement left my mouth. A few looked skeptical about the idea of me going off in order to find them food. I didn't pay them any mind, looking at the Colonel to get his permission.
Spider decided to speak in my favor as Quaritch and I continue to stare at one another, "It's would be a good idea. (Y/n) is a capable hunter for the clan. She can track a big enough animal to be able to feed everyone."
The Colonel let out a sigh as he nodded his head. "Alright. But no trying anything funny while you're out there. Remember, Mansk will be keeping a close eye of you. You don't want him to turn on your little collar now do you?"
I gave him a sarcastic little smile before turning towards Mansk. Looking down at his shoes, I gave them a small kick as I mumbled, "Take off." Staring back at him, I noticed that he seemed uncertain about my request. I gave another small kick which seemed to bother him enough. As he kneeled down, I closed my eyes to focus on the sounds around us. Paying close attention in one direction, I heard the call of a couple of grazers which could be just about a mile or two out.
When I opened my eye again, Mansk had just taken his shoes off completely. He stood up slowly, tossing his shoes towards the rest of the group. I brought my bow into my hand before grabbing his arm to lead him in the direction I heard the grazers. I heard a few of the guys laugh as I pulled Mansk along, but he didn't protest as I continued to drag him away into the forest. In fact, he seemed eager to get away from the rest of the group.
We had been walking for about 5 minutes, when Mansk suddenly stopped walking, catching my attention quickly. I turned towards him confused about the sudden change he was displaying. He reached around to where my quiver was, grabbing ahold of it before handing it towards me. I was shocked as I look up at him, unsure on if I should take it from him or it was a trick. He gave a small sigh as he grabbed my hand to place it within my grasp. I looked at him in confusion, not understanding what was happening at the moment.
I think he was returning my gaze, but it was hard to tell with his glasses on. Mansk was quiet for a moment before finally speaking, "You know when you'll one better than I will. I'll take it from you before we get back to the group. Just... don't do something you might regret."
I gave him a slow nod as I put my quiver in its rightful place on my body. My eyes search his face for a moment, but I frown as I get to the glasses covering his eyes. Reaching out, I carefully pull them from his face. He flinched away, but I stand firm on the choice to take them off. Once I remove them from his face, I hand them back to him. I look down at his hand as he takes them back, my voice soft as I explain to him, "You need to see where you go on a hunt. Pandora will kill you if you don't pay attention to her."
He seems a little shocked by the concern I show for him, but he still listened to what I said. Instead of putting the glasses back on, Mansk tucked them into the collar of his shirt. Giving him one last look, I turned back around to continue on with the hunt. I could hear him follow behind me, causing me to smile a little. It was obvious he wasn't trained to move around the forest quietly like my siblings and I were. Though, it wasn't as bad if he had kept his boots on.
We continued to walk in silence as I was looking for any sign of animals the further we got. Looking down at the ground, I noticed the hoove prints of a hexapede imprinted into the mud. Kneeling down, I take a closer look at the tracks to get some more information. I notice that they are extremely fresh. They couldn't have been made more than a half hour ago. Turning back to Mansk, I see that he is looking down at me intently. Putting a finger to my lip, I point towards the tracks as I stand up slowly. He looks down at them, giving a nod in understanding to the information I was try to relay to him.
We continued onward, more cautious with the prospect of the hunt. I brought my bow in front of me as I reached to get an arrow out. My movements are silent as I notch the arrow while I scan the surrounding area. Hearing the sound of flowing water, I quietly hide in a group of shrubs. Motioning for Mansk to follow my lead, I slowly peek out to take a look around. There is a small stream not too far out, a lone hexapede having stopped to take a drink from it. Luckily, it didn't seem to have heard the both of us approaching. I feel Mansk crouch down next to me as he looked towards the stream as well.
Taking a deep breath, I bring the bow up and pull the arrow back in order to make the shot. Waiting for the right time to take the shot, the hexapede's head came up as it finished taking its drink. Breathing out slowly, I release the string as I watch the scene closely. When the arrow hits, the creature falls down without making any noise of discomfort. A clean kill without any unnecessary pain to the animal.
Running out of the shrubs to the creature, I double check to make sure it's dead. Letting out a small sigh in relief, I say a soft prayer to thank Eywa for providing us with the a successful hunt. I pull the arrow out as gently as I can, grimacing slightly at the sound that it made.
Placing my hand on the creature, I turn around to look back towards Mansk. He had moved out of the plants to take a look at the hexapede. I give him a small smile as he walks closer to get a better view. Soon, he's kneeling beside me to get a better look. His amber eyes scan everything as his face turns thoughtful as he continues to stare. My eyes soften as he reaches out to gently rest his hand against it. I stare at his hand for a little while, touched by the compassion he had for the animal. Finally, I look back towards his face, wanting to say something to him. However, the words get lost in my throat when I see movement right above his head.
Looking above him, I place my hand on top of his arm as my mouth hangs agape. He looks at me before moving his gaze to look upwards himself. A small woodspire floats down slowly, right above Mansk. I watch with bated breath as it lands on his forehead caressing it for a moment before it moved downward. My eyes followed it as it moves to place itself against my hand that's holding his arm. It stays for a moment, calming my racing heart at its presence. Just as suddenly as it came, the woodspire floats away back into the forest.
I watch it leave with Mansk, neither one of us saying anything. When I finally look back at him, he appears confused by the whole ordeal. A frown is on his face as he looks at me to ask, "What just happened with that?"
A look of awe spread across my face as I looked into his eyes. My voice was quiet as I gave him a small smile, "It is a sign. Eywa has chosen you."
~Hey everyone! Sorry for the long wait for part 2. Life has been a bit hectic but I will get the next part out soon than it took this one. As always, feel free to request!
Warning: Fluff, Tsu'tey being worried about you (aww), small moments of doubt.
Synopsis: After leaving for a hunt, Tsu'tey asks Neytiri to check up on you. After talking with her for a while, you decide to have a conversation with Tsu'tey.
Masterlist
It had been about a week since I had gotten hurt. Tsu'tey was being really sweet and caring as the time progressed. He always made sure to change my wrappings daily and would get me fresh fruits every morning. He was even helping me strengthen the muscles in my back through daily stretches to help with the healing process. Though, he always made sure I wasn't pushing myself too much.
This morning he was getting ready to go on a hunt with some of the other warriors. I was currently sitting on the floor, having healed enough that it doesn't hurt much anymore. Though I still wasn't able to move my arm as much, I decided to weave a basket to try and work on regaining a bit of mobility with it.
Tsu'tey came over to me as he was about to leave. Kneeling down beside me, he placed a gentle hand on the side of my face. I looked up at him to see a slight look of concern in his eyes. He had been hesitant about leaving me for the day, but I told him that I would be fine for one afternoon.
I gave him a smile as I place my hand over his. Leaning in, I placed a small kiss on his lips. "Tsu'tey, I promise that I'll be fine on my own. You go and enjoy the hunt today. Nothing is going to happen to me while you're gone."
He let out a small sigh at my words. Leaning forward, he place his forehead against mine. His eyes were closed as he began to speak quietly, "I just worry you might need me while I am away. You have yet to be by yourself since you got hurt. I don't want you pushing yourself while I'm not here."
"I promise that I won't do anything too extreme. I'll just sit here weaving until you get back. Now go before they leave without you." Giving him one final kiss, I gently pushed Tsu'tey away with a smile. He gave on in return as he caressed my cheek before finally going to leave.
I watched him leave, sighing softly once he was out of sight. Turning my attention back to the soon-to-be basket resting in my lap, I began to weave. Though I was going a little slower than I liked, I knew it was just because my arm need to strengthen the muscles again. Plus, the bone was starting to set like it was before breaking.
I had been weaving for about an hour when I heard someone climbing up the tree. Placing the basket to lay down in front of me, I carefully stood up to make my way towards the entrance. As I got closer, Neytiri had made her way into the hut. As soon as we made eye contact, she smiled before making her way over to me.
I laughed lightly as I pulled her into a big hug. She was careful wrapping her arms around me, but returned it with similar enthusiasm. "I'm so happy to see you, Neytiri. How have you been? Is Jake doing alright?"
She pulled back in order to look at me, keeping a hold of my arms to not full break the contact. Neytiri continued smiling as she spoke softly, "I have been well. Jake is doing better after resting for a while. He is actually supervising training today. How are you? Do you need to sit down?"
"I've been sitting all day so standing is actually a nice change of pace. What are you doing here? I wasn't expecting anyone to come over."
"Tsu'tey actually found me before he left with the hunting party. He asked me to check on you to make sure..." Neytiri's voice slowly faded as her eyes went to trail down to my arm. She moved her hand to grab hold of my shoulder as she looked at my throat. Her expression was hard to read as Neytiri continued to remain focused at the necklace Tsu'tey had give me. I began to get nervous as she continued to say nothing. Finally, a small smile broke out on her face as she whispered, "You agreed."
After that, I was wrapped in a tight hug being rocked back and forth gently. I laughed in relief, happy that Neytiri was excited for me as well. Holding on to her, I sigh before a confused look crossed my face. Pulling away enough to look at her, I was quiet as I asked, "You knew about it?"
Neytiri remained calm as I waited for her answer. She had a gentle smile as she ran a gentle finger across the beads. "Of course. Tsu'tey had asked Jake if he could court you beforehand to get his blessing. He even asked what colors you liked so he could make your gift. Oh, Jake will be so happy to hear this. You are in good hands with Tsu'tey. I promise you that (Y/n)."
I smiled at her words, touched by how thoughtful Tsu'tey had been before he decided to court me. The fact that he went to make sure Jake was willing to agree that he was a worthy person made my heart feel warm.
Neytiri rubbed my arm as she hesitated to ask, "Have you made tsaheylu yet?"
I gave a small shake of my head at her question. "No, we agreed that we were going to wait until I got well enough. He wants to do it properly and so do I."
She gave a thoughtful hum at my response. "That is a very good idea. Tsu'tey probably wants to prove himself as well. Show he that can provide you and the family you both might have one day. He has already given you the home to do so. He wants to make this perfect for you so you will still accept when you do make tsaheylu."
I smiled at the thought of Tsu'tey trying so hard to prove himself to me. He had already put so much thought into be a good partner, I couldn't even begin to imagine what he would be like once we finally mated. Bringing my hand to my neck, I slowly fidget with the arrowhead as I continue thinking.
Moving back towards the basket I had previously forgotten about, I motion for Neytiri to sit with me. Bringing the basket back to my lap, I begin weaving once again as we just enjoy the company of one another. I begin to hum a random melody as I got to be about halfway done.
"Have you thought much of the future?" My hands stop moving at the sudden question. I look over at Neytiri in confusion, not fully understanding what she meant. Noticing my expression, Neytiri was quick to explain, "Have you put much thought into what will happen once you have mated? I know it is much to think about, but you need to imagine your life far into the future. Mostly for if you will want children or not. Tsu'tey has been keen on becoming a father for a long time. If you don't want children, you need to speak with him now so that he knows beforehand."
Letting out a sigh, I put the basket off to the side. Reaching out, I place a hand on her arm. Looking deep into her eyes, I make sure to keep my voice soft, "Neytiri, I promise that I will talk with him. And I have thought about what you have concerns about. Believe me, I know how serious the situation is and I'm not taking it lightly."
A look of relief crosses over her face at my words. She pulled me towards her, giving me a small hug. Wrapping my arms around her, I rub her back as we sit in silence. For a while, we just hold one another before we hear some noise coming up the tree. We both pull away as we wait to see who it was that was coming to visit.
Not a minute had passed before both Tsu'tey and Jake had made it into the hut. Jake was the first to see the both of us, a wide grin on his face as he walked over to us. "Well if it isn't my two favorite girls! I'm so glad that we found you. Who would have thought we could find the both of you here."
I give Jake a confused look, wondering if he thought the statement through or not. Looking over at Neytiri, I see that she has a similar expression, though hers also has a hint of disappointment in it. Leaning over, I whisper in her ear, "Remember, you chose him out of everyone else that was available."
She let's out a sigh as she nods her head. "Believe me, I know."
Jake comes over to us with a curious grin on his face. Sitting down in front of Neytiri, he looked between the both of us while asking, "What are you both talking about?"
I shrug my shoulders as I look back over at him. "Nothing important." Turning my attention to Tsu'tey, I notice he had moved to put away all his gear and whatever he had brought back. I sent him a small smile as he started to walk towards us. "How was the hunt?"
Tsu'tey gave a tight lipped smile as he looked down at me. Giving a small nod, he sat down with the rest of us. "It went very well. The clan will have enough meat to last for sometime. Were you alright while I was gone?"
I gave a small nod in return. As I opened my mouth to ask some more questions, Jake interrupted me. "What's on your neck?"
I give him a look of disbelief as I sarcastically respond, "A necklace. You're just now seeing it?"
Jake looked at it for a long while, before turning to Tsu'tey. He has a stupid grin on his face as he looks between the two of us. "So, you finally decided to tie the knot huh?"
Leaning forward, I hit Jake's forehead with a small hiss, "Don't say it like that you idiot. And it is none of your business."
Jake backed away with a surprise look on his face. He held on hand up as he leaned away on the other. "Hey, you don't have to be so rude. Also, I feel like it is a bit of my business considering that you're my sister, (Y/n). I already knew anyway, I just thought you would be able to take a joke about it."
"I'm sorry, Jake. I must have left my humor back up in the tree." I gave a small glare towards Jake, though it's contrasted by a playful smile on my face.
"I said I was sorry! Can't we just move past that?" He had a pleading look on his face, though I knew he wasn't being serious. I shook my head with a small eye roll. Seeing my reaction, Jake smiled as he moved so he was sitting upright again. Placing a hand on my knee, his tone was still playful but mostly serious, "Honestly though, I'm glad that you are feeling better. I felt really bad about what happened."
I pushed his hand away with a grin. Picking my basket up once again, I returned to working on it. "I'm glad you're fine as well. But next time you have an idea, stay out of trees."
Jake laughs a bit, but nods his head in agreement. Neytiri smiles a bit as she pulls me into a sideways hug. "We should be leaving now. We will see you both again once you are completely well (Y/n). Have a good night."
Though he hesitants, Jake stands as well to follow after Neytiri. He ruffles my hair as he says his goodbyes. Once him and Neytiri had finally left, I reached out to place a hand on Tsu'tey's cheek. Looking into his eyes, my voice is soft, "I'm glad you're back home now. It felt too quiet until Neytiri had come over."
Tsu'tey grabbed my hand as he turned his head, placing his lips against my pulse point. Getting up for a moment, he comes to sit behind me. Wrapping his arms around my waist, Tsu'tey rested his chin on my shoulder. I smiled a little as I brought a hand up to rest on the back of his head. Turning slightly, I gave him a peck on the edge of his lips. He hummed in disapproval as he brought his hand up to turn my head enough for him to place his lips directly on mine. He kept me like that for a moment, slowly pulling away while maintaining his hold on my chin.
Letting out a small sigh, I lean back further into Tsu'tey's hold. I close my eyes as I begin to think about what Neytiri had spoken to me about earlier. Deciding that now would be the best time to bring it up, I break the silence while keeping my voice as calm as possible, "Tsu'tey, I think we need to have a talk." I feel him give a small hum in encouragement, ready to listen to whatever I was about to say. Taking a deep breath, I decided to just get to the point. "Do you want to have children one day?"
I felt him tense slightly as he hears my question. Tightening his hold around my waist, he let's out a quiet sigh, "I have... thought about the idea of having children."
"That's not what I asked." Opening my eyes, I move around in his hold so I can look at him without straining my neck. Resting one of my hands on his shoulder, my voice is firm as I repeat myself, "Do you want children, Tsu'tey?"
His ears pinned back as I ask him the question again. He refuses to meet my gaze as I wait for the answer. After a minute, Tsu'tey slowly nods his head. He was barely able to let out a whispered, "I would like to."
My heart broke at the sight of shame he held in his eyes. I gave his shoulder a gentle squeeze to encourage him to look back at me. But he closed his eyes instead, not wanting to see my reaction. I huff softly as I rest my head on his chest, listening to his rapid heartbeat. Thinking for a moment, I finally muttered, "I want at least two. We could always have more though if you want."
Tsu'tey's eyes widen in surprise as he looks down at me. His mouth is open but no words come out. I raise my brows with an encouraging grin as I wait for him to finally speak again. Slowly a wide smile spread across his face as he gave a small laugh. Leaning down, he began to leave kisses all over my face. Starting on my forehead, moving to my cheeks, leaving a few soft pecks on my nose, before finally leave a deep, passionate kiss against my lips. Leaning further into the kiss, a soft purr made it's way through my chest.
Reluctantly, he pulled away, both of us gasping for breath. Pressing his forehead against mine, his voice was soft, "I'm happy that you feel this way. You have feeled my heart with those words alone. I cannot wait until the moment I can make you my mate, Ma'(Y/n)."
My cheeks darken at the endearing name he called me. Moving my arms around his shoulders, I give him a loving hug while rubbing his back. "I can't wait either. I see you, Tsu'tey."
I feel a purr vibrate throughout his chest at my statement. Gripping onto me tighter, Tsu'tey rocks the both of us back and forth. Placing a soft kiss on the top of my head, he stayed like that as he move a hand to rest on the back of my neck. "And I see you, (Y/n)."
~Hey everyone! Sorry for the long wait for part 2. I am planning on working a bit on the Mansk series that I am writing, but I do plan on writing other oneshots or mini series as well to be a bit more active. Feel free to request anything that you can think of or if you want a part 3 where they mate. Otherwise, I have a few ideas on some things. Have a great day!

Warning: Kidnapping (obviously), Lyle being a little weird, violence, forced babysitting (you'll find out)
Synopsis: After being captured with Spider, you tag along with the Recombinant squad.
The only reason that I got caught was because I refused to leave Spider behind. He was too young to be taken from us so I immediately jumped down after him as the rest of my family escaped without us. I heard my mother call out for me, but she was held back by my father so she wouldn't get caught as well. I silently thanked Eywa that the rest of my family was safe as the soldiers started dragging the two of us along.
At the moment, me and Spider were being held in a plain room. There was only a table with a chair to decorate the room. Spider was sitting underneath the table, which lead me to stand between the door and him. It felt like an hour before someone finally came to the room.
Once the door opened, I saw the monster that my parents had called Quaritch. I glared at him, letting out a raspy hiss as he walked into the room. The demon merely smirked at me, turning his attention towards Spider. He tried getting down near the table to try and talk to my adoptive brother. Immediately, I lashed out at the man, trying to protect Spider in anyway I could.
Quaritch's hand grabbed my throat as soon as I touched him the first time. He easily lifted me up, shoving me against the wall. He laughed darkly at the look of pain that crossed my face. Speaking with false concern, the demon looked into my eyes, "What's the matter? Not as strong as you thought, huh? Come on, speak up when I talk to you little girl."
Spider rushed to get out from under the table. When he got over to us, he grabbed at Quaritch's arm trying to pull him off me. "She doesn't talk. Let go of her. She didn't do anything!"
As soon as the statement left Spider's lips, Quaritch scoffed but let go of me, dropping me to the ground. I took some deep breaths while rubbing my neck in pain. Spider grabbed my arm, looking concerned from the interaction that he just witnessed.
The demon looked down at us, taking notice of everything that he could. A few moments went by before he smiled towards us. He crouched down to be on the same level as us. Taking a moment to look at both of us, he finally spoke, "I have an offer for the both of you. I know that neither of you would ever betray Jake Sully. I'm not going to ask you to. But I think that the both of you will want to be with me and my team as we continue our work. You don't want to stay here with the scientists alone. Who knows what they would do." He stopped talking for a moment to turn towards me. A dark look spread across his face as he continued, "Especially to you sweetheart. You might not be able to talk, but they will find a use for you. And I don't think that you want that. Offers on the table, but if I walk out the door, the deal's off."
I looked at Spider once the demon was done talking. He seemed conflicted at what was just offered to us. I knew that Quaritch was right. I didn't want to know what the sky people would do to Spider, let alone what might happen to me. I didn't know what half of the machines they had could do, and I didn't want to find out. I gently grabbed Spider's arm to get his attention. Once he looked at me, I gave a small nod of my head.
Spider looked at Quaritch again before he gave a defeated sigh. He stared at the ground as he let out a mumbled, "Alright. We'll go with you and your team. But don't hurt her like that again. You got it?"
The demon chuckled at the request given to him, but nodded nonetheless. He stood up before motioning for us to do the same. The moment that we were off the ground, Quaritch started to walk out of the door. I softly pushed Spider to follow, keeping a hold of him at all times. We were lead through a series of halls before he finally lead us to a set of double doors.
He pushed the doors open, gesturing for us to enter the room first. When we walked through the door, I noticed that most everyone from the earlier fight were standing around different parts of the room. They all turned to look at us before setting their attention to their leader.
Speaking loud enough for all his soldiers to hear, Quaritch started to explain, "I'm sure you all remember our guests from earlier. We decided to drop by to let you all know that they will be joining us for the foreseeable future. Make sure they feel welcomed to the group. Especially be nice to the little girl. She can't seem to be able to say anything. The poor thing."
A few of the men chuckled at their leaders statement, lightly hitting at each other as the began whispering. I saw one of the women roll her eyes at the antics of her fellow soldiers. The bald man came towards me, looking me over as he tried to speak with fake sympathy. "Aw. Did you never get the chance to learn to talk? That's so sad, but at least you still have your looks."
I gave the man a death glare, though he just laughed. My tail flicked in annoyance as I began to say, "Salew slu sno muntxa!"
A confused look crossed his when I spoke to him. The skxawng's face didn't change as he looked to Quaritch as he asked, "Did she have a stroke or something? What the hell was that?"
"It the native language of the Na'vi people. Figured you would at least know that Lyle." I looked to see that the man who spoke was the man who had been in charge of the 'machine gun' as dad had called it. He seemed disinterested in the whole ordeal that was going on.
'Lyle' had scoffed as he turned to face the man. "Alright, if you're so smart, what did she say? Since you know so much about the Navi." The man simply shrugged his shoulders.
Quaritch looked over at me before saying, "Thought you couldn't talk. Or was that just for convenience?"
Spider was quick to step in as the demon glared at me. "I said she didn't talk, not that she couldn't. (Y/n) is selectively mute. She only talks if she wants to."
The bald one scoffed from the answer that came from Spider. He crossed his arms while puffing his chest out slightly as he spoke again, "Alright then kid, what was it she choose to say that was so important?"
I had a small smirk on my face as Spider began to explain, "The rough translation of that phrase is 'Go become self mated'."
Everyone was quiet until the woman from earlier started to laugh with the biggest grin on her face. She pointed towards Lyle as she exclaimed, "She told you to go fuck yourself! You just got told off by someone who doesn't talk!"
After she had said that, practically everyone in the room started to laugh along with her. Even the Colonel chuckled along, amused slightly at the realization of my words. Me and Spider joined in with the commotion, though I had placed my hand over my mouth to contain some of the noise. I took some deep breaths to regain my composure when Quaritch raised his hand to get everyone's attention.
"Alright, enough of that. It has been decided that we will be heading out in the morning. Get some food if you need it, and get to the meeting point on time. If you are not there and ready on the dot, you will be left here to-do whatever tasks the General has planned. Zdinarsk, Mansk, Lyle; stay back so we can talk. Everyone else is dismissed."
People started to leave the room soon after Quaritch's speech ended. The only people that remained were the ones he had called for specifically. The woman and the machine gunner walked over so they could hear whatever their CO had to say. The woman gave me a smile when she got closer, clearly still amused from the conversation that happened a few minutes ago. I look over to the other man, giving him a once over before meeting his eyes. When our eyes met, he gave a small nod towards me before turning his attention back to Quaritch.
Quaritch turned his attention to his soldiers as he began to talk. "Each of you know how important it is for us to succeed with this mission. So you all are going to be helping me keep an eye on our little guests here. I got a mask that you will be using Spider. And I have something very special for you, (Y/n)." Before I could truly process his words, a metal collar was placed on my neck with a sharp click. I clawed at it trying to get it off. Though I only seemed to be digging it deeper into my skin. The Colonel chuckled as he watched me struggle. "Struggling will make it worse. That there is something that will help us keep you in line. You try to go too far, your new necklace will send a couple hundred volts of electricity through your whole body."
I glared at the man, still pulling against it slightly. Slowly, he pulled out a little gadget from one of his pockets. He held it up for me to get a look at it. After he was sure that I had at least glanced at it, the Colonel held it out for the quiet man to take. He looked surprised at his commanding officer, but took the device from him with no complaints.
As he looked over the device, the Colonel began talking again, mostly to the man. "Mansk, you'll be in charge of our little Na'vi friend here. You'll need to set up a code for that device. It can be used to remove the collar if it ever needed. Such as a situation where our little friend has a little 'accident' and gets seriously hurt. If that happens, you remove it so we can use any information it picks up from her wearing it." He turned towards me with a sick grin as continued talking, "And don't think about trying to guess the code either. If you put in the wrong code, enough electricity will be running through your body to make you wish you were dead. Clear?"
I continue to glare at him, but I nod nonetheless. Spider places a hand on my arm, a concerned look etched into his features. Placing a hand on his shoulder, I softly pat him three times; a way that I would tell my family I was alright if something had happened. He didn't look entirely convinced, but he calmed down a little.
The woman moved to stand in front of us, holding her hand out. She smirked when I met her gaze. "Name's Zdinarsk but I go my Z-Dog." I reach out, giving a small handshake. She continues to smile when she speaks again, "You did a good job putting Lyle in his place. You even got Mansk to laugh a little."
Lyle looked over at Mansk when Z-Dog finished her statement. He glared at his fellow soldier. "Asshole."
"You deserved it." Me and Z-Dog laughed at his unbothered tone. We had received Lyle's glare, though he looked like a toddler who just thrown a tantrum. I covered my mouth again as I made that realization, trying to contain my smile.
Before it could continue, Quaritch scoffed, "That's enough. All of you, get some rest. I want to see you all bright and early tomorrow. Mansk, you take your new friend to your bunk. Might as well get comfy with each other. Not going to be spending much time apart."
I glared at him as he motioned for Spider to follow him. Though I was hesitant, I let Spider leave with him. I had saw the way Quaritch had looked at him when we were captured. Though he seems indifferent, Quaritch has a soft spot for his 'would be' son. Spider was one of the few, if not only, things the Colonel had to be reminded of his humanity.
I was broken out of my thoughts when Lyle stepped in front of me, his smirk from earlier back. He reached out to touch a strand of my hair as he started asking more questions. "So, why don't you talk? Did something happen or can you just not comprehend how to properly speak?"
I slapped his hand away as I hissed at him. He laughed at the reaction he got out of me. Lyle tried to do it again, but Z-Dog pushed him back slightly before he could. "Come on Lyle. That's enough. Stop pissing her off before we let her maul you."
Putting his hands up, Lyle backs away slightly though he doesn't leave just yet. He decides to keep asking questions, though this time they are somewhat normal. "How old are you anyway? Can you even understand what any of us are saying right now?"
I roll my eyes at the second question he asked. If I didn't understand them, how would I have known how to react to them all earlier. Deciding to at least prove him a little wrong with his assumption, I muster up the courage to give a small but firm answer. "I'm 20 years old."
He grins wider at the soft sound of my voice. "Alright, that's enough questions. Leave the girl alone." Masnk had stepped between the two of us, apparently tired of the whole ordeal. He turned towards me with a somewhat soft expression on his face. Looking down at me, he spoke again, "Come on. Let's get going."
I give a small wave to Z-Dog before following Mansk through the corridors to wherever he was going. Not much was said between the two of us, but it's not like I would really have all that much to say. I never had a problem talking, it just seemed like not many people seemed to care to listen when I was younger. So I mostly remained quiet as I was growing up. My parents and siblings always gave me there full attention when I did decide to speak, but not many in the clan seemed to care the same as they did. My grandmother used to tell me that Eywa had given me this gift for a reason and I should be proud of it. Once she had told me that my words would one day help guide the People to a better future. Though I was skeptical of some of my grandmother's wor, it was not my place to question Eywa's will.
Before I knew it, Mansk had stopped to open a door. He held it open as he gestured for me to enter. I slowly entered into what appeared to be his room. It was very clean, the only thing out of place was a shirt that was laying the bottom bed of his bunk. I walked over to a shelf that he had right beside his desk. Looking over all the books he had, I slowly ran my fingers along the spines of each of them.
"So, um, (Y/n)." When he said my name, I turned back to look at him. He seemed nervous about being in the same space with me alone. His eyes began roaming around the room as he started to ramble. "Yeah, so I know it's small but it should work. I normally take the bottom bunk so you can have the top one if you want. Since we leave in the morning, if you need to there's a shower over in that room. You can clean up if you want to. I know it's been a long day."
I stare over at the door he had pointed out. I debated with myself on if I should clean, ultimately deciding to just get some rest. I walk over to the beds. As I place my hands on the edge, he calls out to try and stop me. I push myself up onto the top, settling down to sit with my legs crossed. I peer down at him to see his wide eyed gaze looking up at me. Tilting my head to the side, I give him a confused stare back.
He let's out a small sigh as he mumbled, "That's one way to get up I guess." Moving over to another door, I leaned down to rest on my stomach to get a better look in it. It appeared to be full of his uniforms from where I was sitting. I was proven correct when he pulled out a pair of pants. Mansk turned back towards me to see me still looking at him. His face started to become a soft purple as he looked away in embarrassment. Going over to the bed, he grabbed the shirt to start heading towards the door. As he opened it, he stopped before he went through it completely.
He looked back towards me, seeming to be in debate with himself. I gave him a confused look as he sighed and came back towards me. Lifting his shirt up to me, Mansk refuse to meet my gaze. "You might want to... cover up a little. We normally keep our barracks colder than what you're probably used to. You can borrow this for now."
My eyes widen in surprise at his kind behavior. I gently take the shirt from his hands to bring it closer to my body. I rub my fingers again the fabric, surprised by how soft it feels. Focusing my attention back to Mansk, I give him a soft smile. "Thank you."
"Yeah, um... yeah," Mansk turned around again, still refusing to meet my gaze after giving me the shirt. He walked back over to the door again . He spoke in a soft voice, but I was still able to hear him. "I'm going to take a shower real quick. Just stay in here please."
Once he had closed the door, I laid on my side looking at his shirt. I was debating on if I should wear it or not. I made up my mind when I shivered slightly as the air came down from the ceiling. Sitting up slightly, I pulled the shirt over my head. Pulling it down so it would bunch, I was engulfed in his scent. It mostly smelled of sweat and some kind of water. Probably from what he used to clean himself. His shirt was big enough on me that it went down to my upper thigh.
I laid back down resting my head on the pillow. I could hear the water running in the other room. Huffing softly, I turned to face the wall as I tried to get some sleep. I closed my eyes while trying to even out my breathing. Though, it seemed pointless because I could only think about my family. I didn't know where they were or if they were even safe right now. I tried to hold in my cries, but a few tears managed to slip past.
I laid there crying quietly when I heard the door open again. Even though I wasn't face Mansk, I wiped my face so the tears weren't there anymore. Letting out a sigh that was shakier than I liked, I heard Mansk lay down underneath me. The room was so quiet, I had assumed that he had fallen asleep already.
Just as I was about to try and fall asleep again, his voice broke the silence, "Are you alright? I know it's been a long day for you and your family."
At first, I almost pretended that I didn't hear him. Act like I was asleep and that he didn't know. But deep down, I felt touched by his concern even though I was thrown into his care. Taking a deep breath, I could only give a soft, "I wanna go home."
I heard him sigh from the bottom bunk. I curled into a ball, closing my eyes again to try and fall asleep. Before I was able to drift off to sleep, I heard Mansk say, "It'll be okay (Y/n). Just try not to think about it too hard." I smiled a little at his words. Who knows, maybe he has a bit of a point.
~Thinking of making this a series. Thoughts? Anyways, feel free to request if you want anything specific. Will write ALMOST anything.
Warnings: Jake being an idiot at times, mentions of broken bones, Tsu'tey being a softie, pretty much just fluff and stuff
Synopsis: After an incident where you get hurt, Tsu'tey agrees to take care of you while you recover.
Masterlist
"Jake, I don't think this is a good idea." In retrospect, it was a fucking stupid idea. But I couldn't just flat out say that to my brother in front of Neytiri, who he was trying to impress. I wasn't trying to get in the way of what he was trying to do, but I also didn't want to have to explain to the healers why he would be returning to the clan with multiple broken bones.
Jake had somehow gotten it in his head that he could mount his ikran in midair if he called for it before jumping. He told me about the idea just moments before Neytiri had come over to us to hear what he was talking about. Jake had just pulled us along in order to prove what I knew was going to be a complete disaster without even telling Neytiri a word of the plan. I wasn't even given a chance to attempt to talk him out of it before he was already climbing.
Jake was about halfway up the tree when he finally walked out onto one of its branches. He looked down towards the both of us before he finally said, "Come on. Everything will be fine as long as it works out. Besides, what is the worst that could happen (Y/n)?"
"I would like to remind you that nothing good ever follows that statement whenever you say it. Now please just come back down here before its too late." When that statement left my mouth, Neytiri's ears had perked up slightly. While she may not know what he had planned, she certainly didn't want anything bad to Jake. Especially after all the time and effort it took to train him.
As she was about to say something, a voice sounded close behind us, "What is the skxawng doing this time?" We both turned to find Tsu'tey walking over to us while he had his eyes on Jake, who was about 100 feet in the air. There was an unamused look on his face as he stopped not too far from where me and Neytiri were standing.
Jake looked down and smiled at the new arrival. "Tsu'tey, you are just in time! I was just about to show the ladies here something I thought of. I'm glad that you will get to witness this as well."
"Jake Sully, don't you dare move off of that branch unless you want to get yourself killed!" I immediately yelled at him. I was throughly unimpressed with the fact that not only was Neytiri having to bear witness to this idiotic display, but Tsu'tey also had gotten roped into it as well. I huffed while glaring up at my brother, wondering how I would finally convince him to come down without much of a fight.
Tsu'tey looked over to me before he spoke once again. "You did not come to training so you could convince your brother to not get himself killed? That is your excuse for why you didn't show today? I was pulled away from my duties to teach you our ways and this is how my time is repaid?"
Looking over toward the man, I glared over at him like how I did with Jake. Using a slightly rude tone, I retaliated with, "You make it seem like I enjoy having to be one that makes sure that he stays alive. Do you know exactly how many ideas I had to talk him out of in order for him to survive this far in life? Way too fucking many. And this might actually be one of the worse ideas that has come to Jake's mind." Looking back up towards Jake, I yelled out, "Now get down from there this instance!"
Jake leaned over the branch slightly, smirking down at us. Holding his hands up in surrender, he hollered down, "Alright, you win little sister. I'll come down, but on one condition. You have to come up here and lead me back down yourself. Otherwise, this is still happening. You have 20 seconds to make up your mind. Time starts now."
I rolled my eyes at his childish behavior. Of course he would still have me be involved even though he was backing down. I dug my foot into the dirt while glaring at the ground.
"15 seconds left! What's it going to be (Y/n)?"
Neytiri placed her hand on my shoulder. I looked at her, seeing the concerned expression that was on her face. Neytiri looked directly into my eyes while she quietly said, "Maybe you should just go up and get him. Keep him from hurting himself."
"Ten! Nine! Eig-"
"Alright! I'm coming! Just stop counting." I reluctantly made my way over to the tree before starting to climb upwards. I continued climbing, mumbling under my breath the whole time. Soon, I had made it to the branch that Jake was currently standing in the middle of. I remained close to the trunk as I glared over at Jake. "Alright, I climbed up to get you. Now get your ass on the ground."
Jake smiled while walking a little further down the branch. Shrugging his shoulders, Jake looked downwards while saying, "I said you had to lead me down. Means you have to come out here and get me."
I remained in my position, refusing to move an inch. I could tell that the branch was slightly unstable, moving gently with each move that Jake made. I looked Jake in the eyes as I said, "I am not getting on this branch. Now come down before one of us get hurt."
Jake smiled towards the sky as he continued to speak, "You know, maybe if I called my ikran now, then-"
Before he could finish the sentence, I was already at his side. He had managed to walk out over halfway towards the end of branch. I carefully pushed Jake in front of me in order to lead him so we could return to the ground.
Jake laughed as I continued to push him. He looked over his shoulder with a smile, "See? Nothing bad happe-"
As soon as those words left his mouth, the branch gave way. We fell towards the ground, leaves and vines occasionally slowing the fall. When we finally hit the ground, I landed first directly on my back with my arms spread out from the impact. Jake came down soon after, landing directly beside me. Which also means he landed on my arm, causing me to scream out at the same time that I heard a sickening crack follow soon after his drop.
Neytiri and Tsu'tey were quick to come over to us once we hit the ground. I could only cry as they helped pick Jake off of me, the pain in my arm almost becoming unbearable. I knew it was definitely broken, but I had no idea how bad it was. All that I could seem to do was curl up onto my side while trying to keep my arm as still as possible.
Jake was by my side soon after he had regained awareness of his surroundings. His hands came up to my face, wiping away as many tears as he could while I cried. Neytiri was behind me, rubbing my back while trying to calm me down. Her efforts soon became fruitless as she rubbed over a certain area which then caused me to let out a small scream from the sensation. Clearly, I hurt a portion of my back as well without my knowledge.
Neytiri quickly removed her hand while looking over at the two men that were gathered around my sobbing figure. With a gentle voice, she said, "We must take her back to my mother. She will know how to properly help (Y/n)."
"Alright. Come on sis, I got you." As Jake had reached out for me, I started smacking him with my one good arm.
I glared at him through my tears as I yelled, "Don't touch me, you ass! I should have just let you break your neck trying to do your stupid trick!"
Jake just pulled away, trying not to get hit anymore while I was laying on the ground. Neytiri stepped over to Jake before looking over at Tsu'tey. "Tsu'tey, you take (Y/n) back while I help Jake."
"Neytiri, I don't need any help."
"Ma'Jake, your ankle is swelling. You won't be able to walk by yourself." After Neytiri had said that, I looked towards Jake's feet to realize that his right ankle was slightly bigger with a somewhat dark shade of purple covering it. I slightly grimaced at the sight, but knew it was probably only just a slight sprain that he had.
Before much else could be said, Tsu'tey had picked me up as gently as he could. He moved my good arm around his neck so he could pick me up. He used one arm to hold me up beneath my legs while he used the other to wrap around the middle of my back. As I wrapped my legs around him, I moved my head to rest against his shoulder as I tried to take some deep breaths in order to calm myself down. After he made sure that my broken arm settled in between our torsos, Tsu'tey started to head back in the direction of the village.
Everything was quite for a few minutes before Tsu'tey finally spoke up. "You should not have walked onto the branch."
Even though I wasn't looking at his face, I could practically feel the look of disapproval from his tone alone. My ears dropped slightly as I let out a small, "I know."
I could feel the huff that left him as I spoke. I knew he was upset from the fact that both Jake and I got hurt. Him and Jake had become friends soon after the war had ended. Though, we had a bit of a weird relationship. We were friends, but it almost felt like a bit more than a standard friendship. We always seemed to spend a bit more time with each other, normally by hunting together or going on a flight with our ikrans. Sometimes he would even joke around with me when it was just the two of us. Though sometimes I did wish it would be something more than just friends, I was ok with the relationship that I had with Tsu'tey. As long as he was apart of my life, I would be happy either way.
I let out a shaky breath as I mumbled, "It really hurts, Tsu'tey."
He carefully rubbed my side as he quietly said, "I know. We are almost to the village. Mo'at will look over you and then you will be fine. Just a few more minutes."
It was silent for a bit before I decided to speak up. "Tsu'tey, could you put me down? I think I can walk the rest of the way."
"Absolutely not." He immediately shot down my request. In fact, he tightened his hold on me slightly in order to emphasize his point.
I let out a small whine before saying, "Tsu'tey, people will see. The clan already talks enough, I don't want to give anyone another reason to start assuming anything."
I could feel the scoff that leaves him as soon as the statement left my mouth. "It does not matter what they say. You need me right now, so I will be here." I could tell from his tone that I had absolutely no room to argue with him.
Once we entered the village, I avoided the gaze of anyone that we passed. I could hear people whispering to one another as Tsu'tey continued to make his way towards the healing huts. It didn't take long for us to finally get there as Tsu'tey had pushed past almost anyone in the way of our destination.
Once Tsu'tey had walked through the door, Mo'at had turned towards us. She stood while motioning for me to be sat on of the beds that was in the center. Carefully, Tsu'tey had placed me down while helping me sit up as Mo'at started to grab supplies from one of the shelves.
"What happened to her?" While her tone was slightly harsh, when I looked at her, Mo'at's gaze was soft as she started to inspect over my body carefully.
Tsu'tey spoke softly as he started to explain everything that had happened. He pointed out the part of my back that had cause me so much discomfort earlier. Mo'at gently ran her fingers over the spot causing me to flinch away with a soft whine. Mo'at made a noise of disapproval as she started to apply some ointment to the area. With some help from Tsu'tey, she wrapped some bandages around my torso before she moved to inspect my arm. I whined as she moved my arm to get a better understanding of the extent of my injury. I took a few deep breaths as Mo'at started to apply more ointment on my arm before she put more wrapping on my arm. Once she was done, she brought a small bowl with a strange liquid in it towards me. I was about to take it with my uninjured hand when Tsu'tey grabbed the bowl from Mo'at. He brought it towards my lips and helped me drink from it. I grimaced at the taste before coughing slightly from the sting of the medicine going down my throat.
After my coughing fit was done, Jake and Neytiri had made their way into the tent. Jake looked down at me, taking notice of the bandages covering part of my body. Neytiri helped sit him down before getting more supplies in order to help Jake.
He looked over to Mo'at as he asked, "How bad is it? Is she going to be alright?"
Mo'at had finished looking me over for any more injuries that I may have gotten. Once she was done, she moved over to Jake to start checking on him. "She will not be able to move her arm without pain for a while. She will also need to rest in order for her back to properly heal. Meaning that you will need to stay with someone while you are healing (Y/n)."
"She can stay with us. It's the least that I can do after all." I glared at Jake as soon as he opened his mouth. He shrunk back slightly from the intensity of my gaze, an apologetic look crossing his face.
Neytiri went over to Jake's side as she started to treat some of the scratches that littered his body. As she applied the paste she had onto his body, she softly said, "Ma'Jake, you won't be able to walk on your own for a few days. I will have my hands full with you as is."
"Besides, if I stay with you right now, I will kill you while you sleep." I continued to glare at him while I spoke. Jake let out a shaky laugh which turned into a whine when Mo'at grabbed at his ankle.
Tsu'tey spoke up from beside me as he watched the interaction. "I will look after her while she recovers." He placed his hand on my shoulder in an act of comfort. My face started to heat up, though I chose to believe it was the medicine finally taking effect. He looked over at me as he continued, "Only if you are comfortable with it. You do not have to if you wish to stay with someone else."
I looked back towards Tsu'tey, who was staring at me with a soft expression on his face. I gave him a soft smile before I made up my mind. "I would really appreciate it, Tsu'tey. Thank you."
He smiled at my words as he moved so his back was facing me. My blush started to deepen as I began to realize that he wanted me to climb on so he could carry me. I hesitated at first, but finally accepted after acknowledged that he wouldn't let me leave the healing tent any other way.
Once Tsu'tey had his arms secured underneath my legs, he stood up and started to leave. I placed my head on his shoulder as I let out a small sigh. I could feel the people staring once we walked out of the tent. They all must be curious as to why the clan's best warrior was carrying me in a way that would appear so intimate for him. Tsu'tey seemed unfazed by the stares as he continued the walk to his hut.
When we finally go to the tree where Tsu'tey's hut was in, I heard him quietly say, "Hold on tight." Once I secured my hold on him, Tsu'tey immediately began climbing up the tree. He moved so quickly up the tree, it seemed as if I didn't weigh anything to him. It didn't take long for us to get to his hut. When we entered, he started heading straight to his hammock. Tsu'tey helped me get into it with minimal incident.
I tried sitting up so I wasn't laying down just yet, but he pushed me down gently by my shoulders. I tried pushing against his efforts, but he stayed firm on his decision for me to rest to what he deemed the best way. To show how serious he was, Tsu'tey gave a small hiss before I finally gave up on fighting him. Once he was certain I wasn't going to get back up, Tsu'tey moved his hand away slowly. He started walking to what seemed to resemble a kitchen. At least that's what it seemed like from where I laying down. He was moving around swiftly, grabbing things as he went. I watched him for a little bit before I turned my attention to things that were closer to me.
It was the first time that I had been over to his home, but it didn't quite seem like it was completely him. There were more plants around than I would expect him to be interested in having. Small groups of flowers had wrapped themselves around some of the branches that were overhead. I smiled at the homely feeling that was emitting from the little details that were littered all over. I turned to my side to look around a little better when I took notice of something that was close by. I strained my eyes to see what exactly was on the ground. Once I figured out what it was Tsu'tey had finally made his way back to me. He used one hand to roll me onto my back once again, then shoved a bowl of fruit into my hand with the other. He started mumbling something about me 'not listening' while he was gone. I just smiled looking up at him.
"Hey Tsu'tey, did you make a necklace over there? It looks really nice." His face paled as he went over to where the piece of jewelry was placed. Tsu'tey picked it up before hastily putting it away where I wouldn't be able to see it. I let out a small laugh from the change in his behavior. "Come on Tsu'tey. I wanna see what it looks like."
He turned back towards me with a slightly conflicted look on his face. "You should not have seen it. It is not how things are supposed to work when it comes to the matter."
"What do you mean? It's just a..." It took a minute for me to fully understand what he meant by that statement. A look of understanding crossed my face when I barely whispered, "It's a courting gift." He looked at the ground, his ears pinned against his head in what seemed like shame. I sent him a gentle smile before saying "Tsu'tey, I'm sorry. I didn't know that you were interested in anyone like that. Why didn't you say anything?"
Tsu'tey looked back at me as he slowly made his way back to the hammock. He refused to make eye contact as he tired to find the right words to explain. "It is complicated, (Y/n). It does not feel right talking of this with anyone when it comes to the matter."
I could tell that he felt awkward about the current topic. I brought the bowl he had given me towards him as a form of comfort. He hesitantly took a piece, fiddling with it instead of eating it. I looked back up at the flowers that decorated the branches above us. Sighing mostly to myself, I decided I was going to try and lighten the mood.
"Can I give you some advice about this whole thing?" He gave a small huff, but didn't stop me from continuing what I was about to tell him. "I think I have an idea who it could possibly be that you might be courting. And I have to say just this." I looked back towards him to notice that Tsu'tey's body was completely tense. I tried hold back my smile as I continued, "I know Jake is a great guy, but you could do so much better than my brother. I mean, Jake is an idiot and he alw-"
Tsu'tey tossed the fruit he had in his hand at my face. He let out a short hiss, but he had a playful smile on his face. I gasped before grabbing a piece of fruit and tossed it at him in retaliation. Tsu'tey was able to dodge it, but he pretended to be as if he had actually be struck. I began laughing at the face he made, causing him to join in soon after.
The next few minutes were just of us laughing at practically nothing. When we finally calmed down, I looked back at him with a serious expression. "In all honesty though, any woman that you choose to have as your mate will be lucky to have you. You deserve to be happy Tsu'tey. Everyone will stand by you with whatever decision that you make."
He smiled at my words of encouragement, clearly feeling slightly better after hearing them. He looked around his home as he began to talk again. "I am grateful that you feel that way. I have been trying to make this place feel more welcoming for her. Though, the plan I had for the courting process doesn't seem to be going the way I had hoped."
Confusion crossed my face as I decided to inquire, "Really? What went wrong? Is she making you work to get her attention?"
"Actually, she fell out of a tree and ruined the plan of having her to meet me later tonight."
I was left speechless from his sudden confession. Sure, I knew Tsu'tey saw me as a good friend, but I didn't think that he thought of me the same way I did him. Though, I must have been silent for to long, because he started to stand with his ears pinned back.
"I'm sorry, (Y/n). I thought you felt the same way. I will leave you be for now."
Before he was able to walk away, I grabbed ahold of his wrist. He looked down in shock, not expecting me to touch him. I gave him a loving smile as I whispered, "I wanna see it." He looked confused, clearly not understanding what I meant. I moved my hand down to hold his as I spoke again. "I wanna see my necklace if I'm going to say yes to your proposal."
His ears perked up as soon as I finished talking. I slowly let go of his hand when he moved to retrieve the necklace from its recent hiding spot. Tsu'tey had the biggest grin on his face as he walked back towards me. He held it out for me to see the details, clearly proud of his work. I was awestruck by the detail of it. He had used blue and green beads decorated almost the entirety of the necklace. In the center was the dulled down tip of an arrow. I smiled when I realized that it was from one of the arrows that Tsu'tey had replaced not to long ago.
I sat up slightly as I ran my fingers across it softly. I looked back up at Tsu'tey before asking, "Can you help me put it on?"
Tsu'tey leaned over to secure the necklace on me. Once he made sure it wouldn't fall off, he placed my chin between his fingers to tilt my head. He let out a hum of approval as he admired how it hugged my neck. He had a prideful smile on his face as he barely whispered, "Look at you. So beautiful."
A blush started to form across my face as I looked away in embarrassment. Tsu'tey caressed my cheek before he leaned down to place a kiss on my cheek. I giggled as he continued to leave kisses all over my face. He continued for a few moments before leaning in and placed a kiss softly on my lips. I leaned in to deepen the kiss slightly.
I reluctantly pulled away, taking a deep breath. I rested my forehead against his, closing my eyes at the domestic moment we were having. We lasted like that for a few minutes, just basking in each other's presence. I sighed before letting out a mumbled, "Can we cuddle, please?"
Tsu'tey chuckled at my request, but helped me move around so he could lay down with me. When he finally got situated, I snuggled into his side. He was careful as he pulled me to be laying down on top of him, his tail wrapping itself around my thigh in the process. I nuzzled into his neck as I began to let out quiet purrs. Tsu'tey began to draw small patterns on the uninjured part of my back as he continued to chuckle to himself.
We stayed like that for a while until he finally broke the silence. "There is one thing that I have been wondering." I gave a soft hum as I waited for him to continue. "Why was your brother in that tree to begin with?"
I held back a giggle as I said, "It's kind of a long story. I don't know if you even want to hear it."
I felt his laugh vibrate throughout his chest at my answer. "(Y/n), you aren't going to be able to move around that much for the next few days. I'm willing to listen to anything you have to tell me. So tell me what Jake was trying to accomplish from halfway up that tree."
Hello there! No one requested this but I had an idea and decided to go with it. I hope you all enjoy!

I waited anxiously around the hanger bay on Kamino. The boys had sent word that they were going to be returning soon. Though that didn't mean that they would be arriving today, but I didn't want to risk missing their arrival after they have been gone for almost a month.
I would have gone with them when they left, but I had received a concussion right before the time we were all to leave. I could have powered through it, but Hunter forced me to stay back so I could 'recover'. I thought it was a stupid reason, but Echo was able to convince me that it was the right thing to do.
Though Echo was right, I mostly stayed behind so he wouldn't worry himself to death. Maker knows that he acts as a form of mother figure for the rest of the batch. The last thing he needed was to deal with both them and a concussed me at the same time.
Echo was definitely the sweetest out of the batch. The others all had their moments as well, but Echo always had a soft spot in my heart. There was just something about him that made me feel warm inside. Lucky for me, he cared about me in the same way. The rest of the batch thought me made a nice couple, though they acted like we were married half of the time.
I sat on a crate near the space where Tech would normally land. Other clones were moving around, taking care of some of the crates that had supplies that needed to be moved. None of them really bothered me, except for a few that kept looking over. They must have thought they were being sneaky checking me out, but they were very obvious.
After about half an hour of being leered at, one of them finally decided to walk over. He had a cocky smirk on his face. I gave him a once over, before scoffing in his direction. He leaned against the crate I was sat on and said, "Hey sweetheart, what are you doing here all alone?"
"Waiting for my boys to return soon. Take that as an invitation to leave any moment. Preferably sooner rather than later."
"Come on honey, don't be that way." He placed his hand on my thigh and rubbed his thumb back and forth.
I pushed his arm away, causing the creep to stumble back. Before he could react, I brought my leg up and kicked him right in the face. He fell to the ground, laughter coming from the surrounding clones. I smiled down at him before I heard a ship start to come in the hanger. Turning towards the sound, the Marauder was preparing to land. Looking down at the injured clone, I snarked, "Looks like my boys are here. Have a nice day, honey."
I jumped off of the crate, going over to the space where the ship was now fully settled on the ground. I waited for the door to open while bouncing on the balls of my feet. When the door opened, Echo was the first to walk out. I rushed forward, pulling him into a tight hug. He chuckled as he returned the embrace, patting my back gently.
I pulled back, noticing that he was looking towards the trooper that I had kicked, walking away while leaning against one of his friends. Echo looked at me, asking, “What did he do to deserve what you did to him?”
I smiled, “He was interrupting me while I was waiting for my boys to come back home.”
I saw the others getting off of the ship, so I let go of Echo to greet the others. I gave them all individual hugs, even Crosshair accepted my hug. He must have missed having me around during the mission. We all started making our way to the room, making jokes and small talk along the way.
Once we got to the room, I went straight over to Echo’s bunk and held my arms out. He laughed, making his way towards me. Echo took off his armor before laying down with me. I cuddled up right up against him, placing my head on his chest. I could hear his heart thump softly against his chest.
I looked up towards his face, looking into his eyes. Echo stared back at me, love and adoration in his features. I gave a small smile, mumbling, “I love you.”
Echo leaned down, gently kissing the top of my head and whispered, “I love you too.” I snuggled up against him again, eventually falling asleep.
Hello there! Just a fair warning, there is a minor twist in here. It was such a funny idea that I had to incorporate it somehow. Enjoy!

It was just like any other day on the job. Find a small, secluded spot, set up all my equipment, then I just wait. The job was mildly structured, even if was not the most conventional. But why complain when it pays well.
My next target was a member of Clone Force 99, Wrecker to be exact. Some Sepritast leader wanted some payback after the group had ruined some plan of his. He was stupid enough to pay me before the contract was complete. I didn't really need to be here, but I still have my honor.
I was set up in a tree that overlooked the clearing their ship was at. They had soon after I had arrived, so that was good news. However, I had been waiting for a few hours in this planet's summer heat. I could wait for this to get over.
Suddenly, I caught sight of the Batchers. I raised my rifle to get a closer look through the scope. Each of them held at least one bag; they must have went to town on a supple run They all stood in a tight circle around each other. I groaned, knowing that I couldn't risk the shot yet.
As they got closer to the ship, three of them broke off and went into the ship. Lucky for me, Wrecker was still outside, along with a leaner man. Now would probably be the only chance I could get.
I carefully turned the safety off, readjusting my position to lessen the recoil. As I moved my finger to the trigger, I heard someone yell, “Crosshair, watch this!”
Before I could process what was happening, Wrecker had put a watermelon in between his thighs. He squeezed them together until the fruit broke under the pressure. I barely had a chance to process what I had just watched when Wrecker threw a piece of the watermelon at his friend, hitting him straight in the face.
I leaned back, laughing harder than I had in a long time. However, in the small bout of excitement, I lost my balance. I tried to recover from the mistake, but it was already to late. The only thing I could do was get out a, “Son of a bi-!”
Landing on my side, I was unable to control the giggles that were still coming out along with the occasional ‘ow’. Soon, there was multiple sets of footsteps coming closer. I tried to sit up, but when I saw Wrecker and his friend just made me start laughing again.
I calmed down slightly when Wrecker’s friend, Crosshair, pointed a blaster at me. He glared venomously and demanded, “Who are you and what are you doing here?”
Pointing up at him, I laughed, “Fruit face! You got hit by watermelon Wrecker crushed with his thighs!”
Wrecker slapped his friend’s back and said, “See! This one understands that it was a great joke!”
“‘This one’ also has a rifle on the ground over there that was probably meant for one of us. Maybe we should take you to the ship so we can tell our friends.”
Looking at my hurt shoulder, I sarcastically said, "I may put a small dent in that idea. You see, when I feel from the heavens, I seem to have caught my wings on the branches and broke my arm. So I must decline the offer."
Crosshair scoffed, looking over at Wrecker and said, "I'm sure we can manage bringing you with us. Wrecker, care to do the honors?"
Before I could protest, Wrecker hoisted me over his shoulder. They started walking towards the ship, ignoring my protest against being brought to the ship.
Once we got closer, I saw remaining pieces of the watermelon on the ground. I started laughing again. Crosshair grumbled under his breath while Wrecker laughed along with me. The commotion must have caught the attention of the other Batcher's, because they were waiting for us at the entrance.
"Who is that?"
"I'm an angel, who has fallen from the sky because of the antics of your friends."
Crosshair scoffed, "I'm fairly certain we have a bounty hunter after us. A smart mouthed one at that."
Wrecker sat me against the side of the ship. He looked at the clone with goggles and asked, "Think you can help with patch up?"
"Why would we 'patch up' a bounty hunter?"
"I may have broken my arm after I feel out of one of the trees over there."
Bandana boy can closer to me, questioning, "Why were you in a tree? Trying to catch us off guard?"
I gave him a look and said, "Well, I thought it would be the perfect place to practice doing a back flip. What do you think I was doing?!"
Wrecker smiled and said, "I like this one. Reminds me of you Crosshair."
I let out a small laugh. Shaking my head, I looked over at each of the clones. I felt almost bad for what I was about to do. I leaned forward, explaining, "Listen, I was hired to take out good old Wrecker here. However, after I saw that little display with the watermelon earlier, I honestly have respect for you. So I'm going to forget that I was on an assignment and go about my day."
Before I could stand, Crosshair put the blaster from earlier in my face once again. He glared and said, "This isn't the end of the conversation yet."
I sighed deeply, mumbling, "I wish you would have just let me leave." I quickly grabbed a container out of my back pocket and threw it at the group. Before they could react, a small amount of mist came out and surrounded them. I covered my face with a mask I had on hand, waiting for the smoke to disappear. After a few seconds, the group had all fallen to the ground.
Standing up, I removed my mask, explaining, "You'll be fine in about an hour. You won't be able to talk or move for the time being. Next time, you should tie up the person you are holding. And actually check for injuries if someone proclaims it. I'll see you all around sometime."
As I started to walk away, I turned back around quickly. I went over to Wrecker and kneeled down. I looked into his eyes and, with a wink, said, "By the way you have really nice thighs." After I said that, I finally decided to take my leave.
I wrote this for someone who hadn't seen anything like this, and I really hope it lives up to the standards. Hope you enjoy!
*(Y/n)'s P.O.V.*
Leaning against one of the alleyway walls, I looked at the entrance to Cid's parlor. I chuckled thinking of how the 'Bad Batch' was able to remain hidden in a place almost so obvious. I guess the new Empire wasn't as smart as they made themselves to be.
I pushed off the wall and headed for the entrance. When I was about to reach the door, someone bumped into me. He fell to the ground, while I barely moved at all. He started yelling at me for not watching were I was going. I picked him up, patting off the dust that settled in the fabric of the clothing he wore.
"I'm terribly sorry sir, but I think you might be mistaken." Gripping his shoulders tight enough to not quite break the bone, I stared directly into his eyes. Unease started to creep into the pit of his stomach, tears about to prick at the corner of his eyes. How well the ability to sense others emotions came in handy during situations like this.
I smiled before whispering for only him to hear, "If you ever blame someone else for your own wrong doings, I will hunt you down and make you pay. Am I understood?"
He frantically nodded his head, his face paling with each passing second. With one last little squeeze, I finally let the man go. He scrambled away quickly, ego evidently shattered to bits. I watched for a moment before finally finishing the walk to the door.
Finally at the bottom of the stairs, I looked around the room. There was only a child in the lounge area. Cid and the clones must either be in the back room or out of the parlor.
The child noticed that I had come in. She looked me up and down before asking, "Who are you? I haven't seen you around before."
I gave her a soft smile, walking over so I was closer to her than I would be at the doorway. "I'm (Y/n). Cid is an old acquaintance of mine. I need a bit of help with something so I came here. Who are you?"
"My name's Omega. What do you need help with? I'm sure my friends will be able to help you."
I let out a small laugh, knowing her friends were definitely going to help me with this. Her innocence made me remember when I was younger, before I saw the universe for what it truly was. I almost felt sorry for the day that she would meet the same realization that I did.
Looking around, I questioned, "Do you know where Cid is at right now? I would like to talk to her as soon as I can."
Omega pointed towards the back room, saying "She's in her office talking with some my friends. I can go get them for you if you want."
She started to head towards the door. I placed my hand on her shoulder, preventing Omega from getting to far. She looked back at me, confusion written in her features.
I kneeled down to be eye level with her. I gave her a reassuring smile, and said, "Thank you, but I'll be fine getting her myself. However, the nature of my business is very serious. I'm sure that you might be able to handle, but it might be best if you didn't hear it just in case. Is that okay?"
Omega gave a small nod to show that she understood, but I could feel the hesitance within her. Reaching my hand up, I ruffled her hair gently. A small fit of giggles left her as she batted my hand away.
I reached into one of my pockets, I grabbed a couple of credits and held them out for Omega to take. "How about you go and get yourself a treat. I think someone just made a fresh batch of mantell mix around the corner."
Her face instantly lit up with the mention of the snack mix. She started to reach of the credits before hesitating. She looked back at me and asked, "Are you sure that's alright? I don't want to just take your credits."
Chuckling, I put the credits in her hand. Omega smiled, all hesitance leaving her mind. She hurried out of the parlor, excitement clearly in her movements.
The moment she was out the door, I brought a comlink out of one of my pockets. Turning the com to the right channel I waited for the other line to pick up. After a moment, it finally went through.
"It's been a while. I was starting to think that you lost the com I gave you (Y/n)."
Chuckling, I responded, "I would never Cid. I just called to inform you of a deal that might interest you. In person, of course. I don't want to discuss this matter over comlink. You should understand. "
"Alright. When should I expect to see you?"
"In a few moments, when you get out of that back room. And bring the clones you have back there as well. This will also involve them."
Turning the comlink off, I took a seat at the bar. A moment later, Cid came out of her office with two other men following close behind.
Walking close to where I was seated, Cid started talking, "So nice to have you here. Would have been nicer if you gave me a little more heads-up than you did, (Y/n)."
"Where's Omega?" Turning my attention way from Cid, I was greeted with the man wearing a bandana pointing a blaster in my direction. I scoffed, slid two fingers across the counter. The blaster flew out of his hands, suprise written on his face. "Your a Jedi?"
The other man stepped forward, "She's (Y/n). The Padawan that killed her Master during the Clone Wars."
"Thank you for that introduction, Echo. And yes, I know who you all are. For your earlier question, little Omega is out getting a snack. Should be enough time for the adults to talk."
Hunter stepped forward, "What makes you think we're going to help you at all?"
I reached into my pocket once again, and retrieve a data chip. Handing it to Cid, I said, "This chip contains information that you wouldn't normally be able to get your hands on. It's worth a fortune to the right people. I'm sure you'll find I've given more than enough for the assignment I have for your little Clone squad."
My head turned so I could look at Hunter again. I gave him as respectful of a look I could muster and said, "And to help you consider joining me, doing this will help protect an innocent family from potentially being tried as traitors to the Empire. If you have to do this for anyone, do it for them if it makes you feel better about the situation."
The two clones looked at one another for a moment before facing me again. Hunter walked up to me, holding his hand out for me. As I took it, he said, "This doesn't mean that we trust you. We're only doing this to keep people safe."
"Undertood. The kid will stay here with Cid. I don't want her getting involved in this in case something goes wrong. I'll meet you at you ship within the hour. None of this up for debate, so don't try to persuade me. I'll see you soon."
Just as I stood to leave, Omega walked back into the parlor. She held a bag of mantell mix, shoving a piece into her mouth. A smile lite up her face as she walked towards me.
I could feel a kind of bubbly warmth emitting from her. She grabbed a small handful of the mix and held it out to me. She said, "I thought you might like to have some. You did give me the credits for this after all."
A sincere smile made it's way to my lips. I took the snack in one hand, ruffling her hair with the other. Omega giggled like she did before, but she didn't bat my hand away from her this time. Before I walked out the door, I said, "I'll see you around again sometime. Bye, Omega."
"Bye, (Y/n). It was nice meeting you." After the short good byes, I made my way out of the parlor completely.
*Hunter's P.O.V.*
We watched as (Y/n) walked past Omega. As soon as I couldn't hear her footsteps, I walked over to Omega. I kneeled down to be eye level with her.
I put a hand on her shoulder, and started to explain, "Omega, I want you be careful when you're around (Y/n). We don't know what she has done in her past."
A laugh sounded from behind me. I looked over my shoulder to see Cid finally getting out of the chair she was sat in. She pointed a finger towards me and said, "You just don't know that one well enough yet. Give it some time, you'll see. That kid does everything for a reason and has done more good than you may be giving her credit for."
"I doubt that she's as great as you think she is," I snarked towards Cid. I felt Omega gently place her hand on my shoulder.
I faced her again as she said, "It's ok Hunter. I'll keep my distance if you want me too. But I think you should try and give her a chance. Who knows, she might become one of us even, if you let her in." The optimism in her statement caught me off guard for a second. Before I could say anything Omega asked, "So I have to stay here with Cid while you all go on a mission with (Y/n)?"
"Omega, were you spying on us while we all were talking?" She gave a nod before taking another handful of mantell mix into her mouth. Normally, I would lecture her for listening in on such things but I wasn't in the mood to do it now. Maybe when we get back.
Looking over at Echo, I said, "Let's head to the ship. We should bring Tech and Wrecker up to speed before our guest arrives."
We said a small goodbye before finally leaving for the Marauder. I didn't know what we should expect with the mission that this (Y/n) had in mind. Only time will tell.
*(Y/n)'s P.O.V.*
The hour was almost up, and all I could do was stare at the ship that was docked in front of me. This was the closest to a Republic ship since I had left. Even though it was no longer apart of the Republic, it still felt like I was betraying a part of myself by trying to walk aboard.
After a moment, I finally got a grip of myself and walked aboard the ship. As I got past the threshold, voices started echoing through the ship, coming from the cockpit. I made my way towards where I assumed everyone must have been gathered at.
The talking almost instantly stopped when I stepped into the doorway. All four men looked towards me, each with multiple different emotions emitting form each other then. The only one that was common with each of them was anger. I didn't know if it was of the situation or towards me, but I didn't really care at the moment.
I momentarily made eye contact with each one of them before I landed on Hunter. A scowl laid on his face, his eyes glaring daggers in my direction.
I ignored the looks they all gave me and said, "We should leave now. The sooner that we get everything over with, the sooner you can go back to your somewhat normal lives." I went up to the console at the front and typed in the coordinates. I looked over at the clone that was in the pilot seat, Tech most likely from the goggles. "This is the area we should be clear to land. And while it might not seem that important, we need to land on the planet at night. I don't want the wrong people knowing that we'll be on planet."
As I turned around, Wrecker stood in the way of me walking to the back of the ship. His arms were crossed in front of his chest, a glare directed right at me. I met his stare, not backing down to his hostility.
His glare never lessened as he said, "I don't know why we should be helping a Sepritast. You did betray the Republic aft-"
"The Republic betrayed me!" My voice echoed through the cockpit. I avoided looking at any of the men. I felt disappointed in myself for letting my emotions get the better of me. I pushed my way past Wrecker and said, "We should leave now. It will take some time getting to our destination."
Going to the gunners mount, I sat down in the chair and waited. Soon, the ship hummed to life and slowly lifted off the ground. Might as well get comfortable for the trip.
*Time skip*
I hadn't left the gunners mount during the flight. I didn't have the patience to deal with anything the clones would have asked. But it wasn't that bad. The small compartment was... cosy, in its own way. Obviously it was intended to be a sort of room for Omega.
I knew we would be landing soon, so I started to get ready to leave. Something in the corner caught my eye, however. I knelt down and picked up the object.
A Clone Trooper that was painted black. Made to look just the the Batchers. The toy belongs to Omega, I could feel her energy radiating off of it.
Someone cleared their throat, causing me to look up. Hunter had come at some point, standing at the bottom of the ladder. He looked at the toy in my hand before looking back at me. He hesitated before saying, "We should be landing in a few minutes. Night fell not that long ago so we should be fine not being spotted like you said before."
I gave him a nod as a form of dismissal, but Hunter didn't leave. I set the doll down gently in the seat before stepping out of the mount. Hunter walked into the cockpit while I stayed near the door.
A soft hum filled the space around the ship as we passed through the atmosphere. A sigh passed my lips as a familiar warmth started to fill me. I was finally back to a happy place after so long.
We landed safely on the ground, and soon everyone came walking out of the cockpit. The door opened, and I began to walk. I called over my shoulder, "There is a place we can lay low for the time we're here. It's about 5 minutes away."
Wrecker replied, "Why didn't we just land near that spot then?"
"I didn't want to wake any of the children up if they were sleeping."
A hand gripped my shoulder and turned me around. I was met with a glare from Hunter as he said, "You didn't tell us anything about this involving children."
I removed his hand and said, "Calm down, Sargent. They're the people you're helping me protect. Maybe next time, you will think to ask a few questions before you start making assumptions."
I turned back around and continued on the way. The only noise that could be heard was the wind whistling through the leaves. After a few minutes, the trees finally opened up and revealed the cozy little home I knew so well.
*Hunter's P.O.V.*
It took a few minutes, but we finally got view of a house. I was skeptical about going any closer to the house, but (Y/n) just went straight to the door and knocked. It took a moment but soon the door opened.
"(Y/n)!" Two children came through the door and latched onto (Y/n)'s legs. She patted both of their heads with a kind smile. Wait, she actually smiled?
One of the kids looked passed (Y/n)'s leg towards us. He tugged on her leg and pointed towards us. She looked over at us before kneel down to talk with them.
Soon, a woman walked outside with a smile on her face. She looked towards the children and called, "Kath, Baz, give her some space. I doubt she's had any breathing room with you two smothering her."
The child backed away slightly to give the woman some room to give (Y/n) a hug. They both pulled apart after a moment. The women encouraged the children back inside the house. (Y/n) turned back towards us, motioning us to follow her into the house. I was hesitant at first, but Wrecker started marching towards the door. I sighed but soon followed after with Tech and Echo close behind.
When we walked into the house, the two children from before were now sat at the table. A man came walking in holding a baby, a smile on his face as went over and hugged (Y/n).
The woman from early looked at the children and said, "Alright children, time to go to sleep."
They both let out whines in protest. (Y/n) looked at the both of them with a grin on her face. She playfully said, "Well I guess if you don't want to go to sleep, then you don't want me to tell you a bedtime story."
When she said that, both of the children jumped up and headed to their rooms with springs in their steps. (Y/n) gently took the baby from the man's arms before heading after the kids.
The woman looked at us and said, "All of you sit down. I'll get you all something to eat. You can call me Ria. We're so happy to have company here."
Unsure of exactly what to do, we sat down at the table with Ria's husband. He looked over at each of us, before saying, "It's nice to see the our daughter has found some friends. Hopefully you might be able to help her with the problem we're having."
"(Y/n)'s your daughter?" We looked at each in disbelief. It almost seemed impossible for this to be an ex-Jedi's family.
Ria came back in and placed bowls of soup in front of each of us and said, "We had her when we were young. Though we would never change that for the world. Though if we had known what would happen to her during her time with the Jedi, we would have reconsidered letting her join."
Tech looked skeptical when he inquired, "Are you sure she told the whole truth about what happened? The Sith are known to be very crafty when getting others to believe in their views."
Ria grabbed onto her husband's arm before saying, "(Y/n) did tell us, but I understand that you don't believe us. But we know our daughter, and she would never lie about what happened."
(Y/n) came walking back into the room without the kids. "Everyone is all tucked in. They must have been more tired than they thought. Now would be the best time to talk about the situation."
Her father nodded his head before saying, "We are having a situation with one of the wealthier family's near by. They believe entirely in the Empire while we don't. They are trying their hardest to get information on us assisting the Resistance."
"Are you assisting the Resistance? If not, then this shouldn't be that big of a deal."
(Y/n) looked me in the eyes and said, "Of course we are. I may have my differences with the Republic and the Jedi but the Empire ruled galaxy is I want my siblings growing up in. Which also brings the problem we are here for."
Echo looked at each of them, "Let me guess, they somehow got their hands on proof that you are aiding the Resistance?"
Ria nodded, "They gave us two options. Either we give them the land that we have and work as slaves for their silence. Or they turn us into the Empire and we all are tried for treason. We have until the end of the week to give them an answer. We can't give them our land, this has been my family's home for generations. And if we are tried, who knows what will become of the children."
The thought of her children being orphaned must have been too much, because Ria started to cry. (Y/n) held her mother and said, "I swear to you momma, I will not let anything happen to any of you. Because I have a plan that will take care of them and make this a bad memory." Her mother nodded and held (Y/n) close. She rubbed her mother's back and said, "You both should get some rest. It's been a long few days and the less you know about this plan, the better."
With a nood, her father took Ria towards their room. After they left, I looked over and inquired, "So, care to tell us about this plan?"
She looked at each of us and said, "It's fairly simple. Me and one of you will go and get the information from their house. Once we get that, we bring it back here. Tech do you think you could alter the data so it appears that they have been aiding the Resistance instead?"
"Of course. It may take a small amount of time but it can be done."
"Alright, so Tech will do his thing. After he's done, you can leave and I'll hand over the data to the Empire. With that everything should be taken care of. Was that clear enough for everyone to understand?"
When no one said anything, she nodded, "Alright, so who wants to come with me and look for the information?"
I stood from my spot at the table, "I'll go. The rest of you can keep an eye out around here for any trouble."
(Y/n) headed over to the door and opened it. She looked back at me and said, "After you Sargent."
*(Y/n)'s P.O.V. & Time skip*
We made it to the hill that overlooked the neighbor's house. I kneeled while pulling binoculars out of my bag. I looked over the house and noticed that there were heat signatures in the house still.
I put down the binoculars, actually sitting this time. I looked over at Hunter and said, "They're still in the house. Normally they leave to go into town for a drink or to gamble until it's almost dawn on this day of the week. So time to get comfortable while we wait."
He was hesitant at first but soon he sat down beside me. His aura had an edge of nervousness that he refused to let his face show. After a few minutes, I finally just snapped, "If have something to say just say it. I'm tired of you side eyeing me when you think I don't notice."
Hunter was hesitant at first, but he finally asked, "Why did you do it? What happened to make you kill your master?"
I scoffed, "What does it even matter? The only people who believe what actually happened are my parents."
He reached out to grab my shoulder. I looked up to meet his eyes. He squeezed slightly and said, "I just want to know what happened. The Republic may not have believed you but I just might if you tell me."
I looked down at ground and let out a shaky breath. It took a moment but I finally looked back at him. Hunter was staring at me, waiting for me to explain.
"My master always expected perfection, with both me and the clones that he was in command of. It was a standard mission to obtain some information on the Sepritast. But we hadn't expected that it was a trap. It was an honest mistake, and the lead we were given seemed like it was legitimate enough that the Counsil even believed it. When we finally were able to retreat, my master wanted to see his commander. He had me there so then I could learn how to deal with a failure of a large scale mission. When the commander got there, it was only the three of us. I thought my master wanted to have a private conversation on what happened, but instead he pulled out his lightsaber and killed him. He made a mistake and my master killed him for it!"
Tears streamed down my face remembering that day. Hunter rubbed my back trying to comfort me. He looked down and asked, "Why didn't you tell the Jedi Council what happened?"
"I did, but none of them believed me. They said I was in shock and that it was just my imagination. But I didn't imagine the sound of the lightsaber igniting. The Council wouldn't do anything about it though, they didn't even launch an investigation, because none of the other clones said the commander was alive when we escaped. But they were forced into silence out of fear of it happening to them next. I couldn't live with the fact that I just stood by and did nothing. So one day, me and my master were finally alone during a mission. I thought about everyone he had hurt and would keep hurting if he wasn't stopped. I let that anger take control as I ignited my lightsaber. He looked back at me before I forced him to the ground. I made him look me in the eyes before I actually killed him. I wanted him to know the pain that he made the commander go through. After it was all over, I ran as far as I could. I didn't know where I could go, I was barely an adult, and I was wanted by the Republic. That's when I told myself that I would never let anyone take advantage of others in anyway, no matter what side they're on."
Hunter patted my back and said, "I'm sorry that happened to you. Everyone just assumed that you betrayed the Republic and became a Sepritast. Now I know why you said the Republic betrayed you."
"Thanks. It means a lot coming from someone like you." I let my attention return to the house when I noticed movement near the entrance. I picked the binoculars up again and saw two heat signatures moving away from the house. Wiping my eyes, I stood up and said, "This is our chance. Let's make this quick so they don't come back while we're in there."
As I started heading down the hill, Hunter grabbed my arm. I turned around to meet his gaze. He had a sincere look on his face as he said, "I'm glad you told me what happened. If it means anything, I believe you."
With a small nod, I turned back around to the task at hand. Maybe getting a little emotional wasn't the worst thing in the world.
*Time skip*
It took awhile, but we found the information after about an hour of investigating. I also happened to come across some of their spending information, which would definitely come in handy. We brought everything back to the house.
Tech was currently working on recoding everything while Echo and Wrecker were getting some rest. I was doing a light cleaning of the food momma had given everyone earlier. I was almost done when I felt a tug on my shirt. I turned around and saw both Kath and Baz standing there wide awake.
"What are you both doing up? You know you should still be asleep."
Kath looked down before saying, "We couldn't sleep. We didn't think you would mind since the other are awake."
I gently patted her head and said, "If it was a little closer to sun rise. But it's still the middle of the night. So go back to sleep for at least a few more hours. Both of you." They both nodded their heads with defeat. Clearly, they had hoped I would let them stay up. As they started walking away, I heard a cry coming from the nursery. I pointed at both of them and said, "Bed, now. I'll go take care of Javen."
I passed them and made my way to the nursery. I opened the door, quietly making my way to the crib. I picked up Javen before gently rocking him. Humming a soft tune, I stroked his head before placing a soft kiss there. After a few minutes, he calmed back down and yawned.
Suddenly, I felt a presence from outside of the door. I gently placed Javen back down, pushing some hair out of his eyes. Standing back up, I ignited my lightsaber and pulled the person in the room. I was about to attack when I realized it was Hunter. I let go of him and put my lightsaber way.
He regained his balance quickly. "You're quick in trying to kill me. You didn't even bother looking to see who I was," he remarked.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to. I just, um, I didn't, ugh, sorry. I guess I'm not use to having other people here in the nursery so I got a little distracted. Sorry."
He laughed softly, "Didn't think I would hear a Sith apologize for almost killing me. Three times in fact."
"I'm a different kind of Sith, as you may have noticed," I laughed along with him. It felt nice to actually let my guard down around him. I looked back down at Javen before making my way towards the door. "We should let him sleep. He'll be awake again soon enough."
After going back to the kitchen area, Tech finally looked up at the both of us and said, "I have finished altering the data. I also changed the information enough to correspond with the spending habits of you neighbors. Hopefully this will be enough to convict them and get them off of your family's back."
I sighed, feeling the tension leave my body. I sent a smile towards Tech, "Thank you Tech. I don't know how to properly thank all of you. You all have my family's gratitude."
Hunter smiled and said, "All in a day's work. Hopefully this will be the last time that you let this type of information slip."
"Of course. Hardly anyone around here likes the Empire. We all help the Resistance where we can."
Tech and Hunter looked surprised at my statement. Tech handed me the data pad and said, "It seems unlikely that a Sith would help aid the Resistance."
"I may not agree with the Jedi, but I still have my morals. The Empire goes against both mine and others all around the galaxy. Besides, you know what the Empire is like. They tear apart the bonds others once had. Like you and your brother, Crosshair."
They both shared a solemn expression with the mention of their brother. Both of them understood what I said at a personal level. Hunter looked towards me and gave a small nod. I returned the gesture with a small smile.
Hunter turned back to Tech, saying, "We should head out while it's still dark. Go wake Echo and Wrecker, we should leave as soon as possible."
Tech nodded before leaving the room. Hunter and I shared a look. I walked over to him, taking his arm. I started to tap his com link as he protested, "What are you doing?"
"I'm adding my personal com channel. That way if you need anything, you can just call." I stepped back slightly, unsure of what to do next. I rubbed the back of my neck and said, "If you all ever need a place to lay low for anything, I'm sure my parents would be more than happy to let you come back. You could even bring Omega if you wanted. It's up to you if you want to."
Hunter was about to say something, but Echo, Tech, and Wrecker came into the room again. He looked over and ordered, "Alright, time for us to leave. Let's head out. Thank you for the hospitality (Y/n). Maybe we could work together again someday."
They all started going out the door. Hunter was the last to leave. I followed them out, watching them go through the trees towards their ship. Before he made his way through the trees, called out, "Hunter, wait!"
He stopped, turning back towards me. I hurried over to him, not completely sure why I called for him. Standing in front of him, I just decided to go for what felt right. I grabbed his shoulder and placed a soft kiss on his cheek.
When I pulled away, my face felt like it was burning. I whispered, "Thank you, for everything." I could barely meet his eyes as I started to back away, saying, "See you around sometime, Sargent."
I turned around as I heard a small laugh come from him. "See you soon, (Y/n)."
I made it back into the house, closing the door with a huge smile on my face. A warmth was spreading itself all throughout my body. I couldn't wait for the next time I would see be able to see Hunter.
I hope you enjoyed the oneshot! This is my first Star Wars fic and I personally am really proud of it. I set it up to where there could be a part 2 if anyone wanted something like that. Hope you all have a great day!
