"Wait, don't move! I'm on the way- just stay where you are!"

Rose wasn't completely sure how she ended up in this situation, surrounded by rubble with something heavy on her left leg. Her body wasn't listening to her brain.

Get to the hospital. Just use vines to lift the rubble. Come on, do something!

Despite her desperate thoughts, she couldn't bring herself to use any of her magic.

Hearing any voice was welcome. She tried to speak, only to cough from the dust around her. Frightened, she could only hope whoever was coming to help would be there soon.

Rose recognized that look. He was worried. His question broke her heart.

"Of course I do. I know you love me. You might not always express it outwardly, but there's little things you do that make me feel loved. I want to make sure you feel loved, too."

Duck pulled back to look at her. To really study her face. If there was one thing he never lost as a human, it was the ability to read subtleties. Small twitches, slight smiles, the gleem in someone's eye. A cat never forgets them. And he could see it, he could hear her response was genuine. A small smile appeared. Soft, content. And he went back to hugging her close.

"That's good."

Rose wasn't about to end cuddle time, especially not when Duck initiated it.

"I'm glad I met you." And that she kept bugging him until he wore down, but she wasn't gonna mention that bit.

Carefully Rose picked up the little guy, gently holding him as she began to head to see Razz.

"Razz can be intimidating at times, but I promise, he won't hurt you. He's gonna find a way to help me help you get back to who you used to be." She said as she walked. Not even knocking, she walked in to Razz's office, gently petting the little ferret.

"Here we are." She said, taking a seat in an available chair and setting the ferret on her lap. The poor guy must be terrified, but she was doing her best to help him stay calm, petting him and trying to be a soothing presence.

Garry accepts being picked up. In all honesty, he doesn't mind this. Even if he didn't quite weigh that much for his height, Garry knew he was tall. And thus a bit awkward for most people to carry. He was putting a lot of trust in a stranger right now though. So even if he didn't mind being carried, he was still tense. The petting was a little strange though, but not unpleasant. Just, uncomfortable considering he doesn't know her, and she doesn't know him. He doesn't see a reason to put up a fuss though. Perhaps she was scared too.

Little ferret eyes looked up at Rose as she spoke, and she only gets a chitter in response. Though, the noise didn't sound distressed, so it was probably a confirmation that he understood her. His little head looking forward again soon after.

Razz's office was often dark or dim— as his kind preferred low light. But it seemed he turned on the lights for his guests this time. Rose wasn't joking when she said the man was intimidating. Those deep maroon horns, extremely muscular build, and bright eerie green eyes made him look like some sort of devil. The smirk, that knowing smirk after the thought passed Garry's mind didn't help matters either.

'So, this is the little guy, huh? Cute.'

Thanks, I think The thought was audible to Rose now. It sounded unsure of how to take that, but not upset. Definitely male, though, not deep, and much more feminine sounding. It seems the Ferret didn't notice. And Razz seemed content not to mention it. At least by ho his tail swayed and wagged behind him. Razz wasn't expecting it to last, As he knew Rose would probably say something, but the surprise was still going to amuse him greatly.

Rose jolted a bit at the voice in her head. That wasn't Razz's voice. It didn't take much for her to put two and two together, and she smiled at Razz.

So, what's your name? she thought, hoping the link would work both ways.

So some of you may know about my verse for The Amazing Digital Circus, called 'Circus Flower'. I saw the movie release for The Last Act last night, and I want to promise that nothing from episode 9 will be mentioned by me or made canon until the episode fully airs for everyone on YouTube.

Rose thought for a moment.

"It's up to you, Duck. I just don't want you to feel like you can't ask for hugs, or feel forced to hug me when you don't want to." It really was his call.

"As long as you feel loved, that'll make me happy."

Duck gave her words some thought as well. A quiet thought. His brows creasing a bit. His ears perking a moment before pinning back against his skull.

"Do you feel loved?" A genuine question said in a soft voice. He loved Rose so much. He wanted her to feel loved too.

Rose recognized that look. He was worried. His question broke her heart.

"Of course I do. I know you love me. You might not always express it outwardly, but there's little things you do that make me feel loved. I want to make sure you feel loved, too."

Duck holds out his closed fist. He doesn't say anything. Just waits. If Rose holds out her hand, Then her fiance gently drops something in her waiting palm.

It's sea glass. Specifically what appears to be something ceramic. Rounded by the ocean, but still so vibrant. It had blue rose pattern on it, and it was a decent size.

The look on his face. The glint in his eyes. The wag in his tail. He was proud of himself.

Rose is confused at first, but does hold out her hand. Then she sees what it is, and her eyes widen.

"It's beautiful... where did you find this?" she asks, hugging him tight.

Rose nodded before remembering Razz couldn't see her.

'Got it. Should I bring him over or should I just start thinking your name or something?' She had never really needed to reach out to Razz before, so she was unsure what the best method would be.

'You can bring him over. Just let me know when he wakes up. It might be easier to explain things that way.'

While Razz reviled in scaring and annoying folks, there were times he took things seriously. Besides, he was confident scaring the little guy was only going to make helping him a little difficult. Besides, he wasn't the type to kick a guy while he's down. Maybe tease him for being on the floor as he helps them up.

The ferret slept for hours. It seemed like the little guy must have been exhausted. When he finally woke up the sun had set. He gave a little stretch and a yawn-- that almost sounded like the soft squeak of a puppy. There was tension at first as he looked around him in this unfamiliar place, but soon enough he remembered. And his beady little eyes went searching for Rose.

Rose had been in another room, though she walked back into the room not long after the little guy woke up.

"Hey there. I have a friend who can read minds, including minds of animals. He offered to help translate your thoughts to me." She explained.

"If you're up for it, I'll bring you over to him." She added.

'Razz, he's awake.' She thought, hoping that Razz would pick up her thoughts.

Garry blinked those beady little eyes with a slow and thoughtful grace. It was certainly hard to read the subtle expression on any creature, let alone a human sometimes. And this little guy was no exception. It was difficult to tell exactly what he was thinking. There was an attempt to cross his front legs together, or at least, it seemed like that's what he was doing. It was a self soothing thing. Not really fully committing to crossing them. More half so. So instead he just brought a paw up to his tiny lips. A motion he found comforting, and what made his habit so hard to quit. After some delegation, he decided he didn't have much of a choice. That didn't mean he wasn't scared. Garry was scared out of his mind actually. But he had no choice. And, if she wanted to hurt him she would have done so already... Right?

He takes a breath and slowly moves off of his comfortable spot and right up to Rose. A tiny little paw reaching out to her.

Okay. I'll trust you.

A voice enters Rose's mind soon enough. That same intimidating voice that she had come to know as much, much less intimidating than he'd like to be.

'Alright. Just come in when you arrive. The door is unlocked.'

Rose opens her mouth to argue, pauses, then closes her mouth.

"Ok you're not wrong, but bold of you to assume I'd ever get trapped in a horror movie."

"Oh wow, that's pretty impressive...." A lot of things to defend and attack if needed. Teleportation a quick and easy way to escape or go places. A thing she wished he had... Would help with all this hair to lug around and all...

"Um well, I have to sing a certain song and it glows. So. I can navigate through dark places. I can whip and swing from my hair. Don't ask, it's strong enough to carry my and others weight. As well, as heal injuries and uh... Revive dead creatures? Haha." She pauses for a long moemnt. "my uh... Adopted mother used it to be 'young' forever too..." She said more quietly. That was a sore subject.

She chuckled sheepishly, having revived her pal when she was little.

"i think that's it?"

Rose glanced at the long golden hair Rapunzel had.

"Sounds very useful!" the adopted mother comment was going to be ignored for now. No need to question what was clearly a sore subject.

"I wonder if my fiance would want some of his old injuries healed... then again, I love him as he is. He doesn't need to change in my opinion." Still, if he'd want it, she wouldn't tell him 'no'.

Rose tries to keep up with all this information, but had a feeling some would end up forgotten. At the final question, she shook her head.

"No. I'm only here for the day. I like to explore places, but I have responsibilities back home that make it difficult to spend more than an afternoon someplace. I can use some magic, including teleportation. That's how I get most places, and how I'll get home." she explained.

Well now that she wanted to see. With all the confidence of a feline who thinks they can never get stuck, and her exposure to magic had never been that huge, especially outside of a combat context.

"Really? There's not any pads around- those are all closed and up north. Unless you've some other trick you'd like to show off?" curiosity is uninhibited with this cat. She's not ashamed of it either.

Rose tilted her head, confused.

"Not sure what pads have to do with anything... as for other tricks..." Rose trailed off, then snapped her fingers, disappearing from in front of the other and reappearing behind her.

"I can do that." she said.

Rose nodded. "I'm very far from home... I'm not sure where I am, exactly. But thank you for the warning." A pause.

"What can you tell me about this place? What should I look out for, to keep myself safe?" If she returned home injured, Duck would be upset. She didn't want to worry him...

"Well, that mountain range down south over there is the Taman Busuk, and the caverns below are the home of the Manuka Tribe. They're a common pitstop for traveling tribes, if you're needing a place to take refuge to plan the rest of your trip." it'd be a bit of a hike, sure, but nothing too unreasonable. just a few nights camped out. "Thinking of traveling tribes though, I wouldn't trust just any goblin you meet. Many tribes are a bit... rough, with the other races, and if they're lacking some symbol on their shoulder and stripes on their limbs, they're definitely not Manukian." The interesting part of her description of a Manukian Goblin was that matched some of the red patterning on her fur- on the shoulder, though a bit obscured with that cape she wore, was the drawing of a foot with an eye in it, and her legs had many stripes. "Stripes or arrows, depending on the individual."

She then says something in a language Rose likely hasn't heard before- the tone indicating a question, but one not lingered on, clearly, as she carries on, gesturing northwest now, to a very faintly visible city barely on the horizon there. "Of course, there's Kalaman just that way- one of the busier cities in the Estwildes. as for dangers just your average camping risks with wild beasts and brigands..."

"Were you heading any place specific?"

Rose tries to keep up with all this information, but had a feeling some would end up forgotten. At the final question, she shook her head.

"I suppose you could call it magic. We call it technology. It's a common item, however. Used to communicate with people miles away, either via written messages or by talking. If you don't recognize it, I doubt it'd work here. It requires special towers scattered across the land to work." She's trying her best to explain it, at least.

"I'd demonstrate it, but again, doubt it would work where we are, and if you don't have this technology at all, I'd rather not alter the course of history here." Wherever 'here' was...

The distinction only gets a couple of blinks, but no comment. What difference would it matter? though it being only capable with various towers... and with the accent of this human...

"Then you must be far from home. All the better I reminded you to keep your wits about you then, I know the average rogue is a lot more properly opportunistic then myself. Why, there's a certain Kitten I remember who was far too pressed in not even being seen by a mark they were loaded with blades." Said fondly, as if there's probably more nuance to that then the implication. Or, perhaps an outdated implication, specific to one memory?

Rose nodded. "I'm very far from home... I'm not sure where I am, exactly. But thank you for the warning." A pause.

"Oh my gosh! That all sounds so amazing. I think I'm the only magic-y person around here. Not normal magic, but I guess my hair is? I'll explain better if you wanna know but-" She stops herself from rambling on and on. As she normally does once she gets going.

"Are you also able to use magic? If so what kind, if you don't mind me asking?"

As far as she knew anyway there could be some magic users around she's unaware of.

Rose nodded. "Yeah, I can. Specifically, plant and teleportation magic. I can manipulate plants, making them grow and using vines to help protect myself. Teleportation is how I get around a lot of the time. I just picture where I want to go, snap my fingers, and I arrive there. If I don't know where I want to go, but someone I have a connection to is there, then I picture that person and can arrive at their side. Otherwise, I'll end up in places I've never been before." She explained.

"I'm curious about your hair. How does your magic work?"

"Uh oh, Gunter's brains fell out again."

"Hey, I'm not the one who keeps eating the bandaid, Mister, so don't get mad at me."

Gunther tries to fight weakly in her arms but doesn't seem to have the wherewithal to do much more than smack his flippers against her hands as she works. However, as the yarrow settles in, the penguin seems to breathe a sigh of relief, his gaze half closed but free from any indication of lingering pain.

"That's it?" Despite the fact she just totally saved his penguins life, he doesn't seem amused, or even the tiniest bit grateful, standing there with his hands on his hips and a sour expression.

"You just show up here and command plants all willy-nilly and expect me to believe that'll fix my penguin?!" He waves his arms around to illustrate his point and then continues yelling, "he needs some top-notch help here! I'm talking lights, hot nurses, the whole nine-yards!"

Meanwhile, Gunther seems to have slipped into a peaceful sleep. The Ice King looks at him, and then at her, and leans on the head of one of his five thousand other penguins.

"So, are you free tonight or what?"

Rose just rolled her eyes.

"Look, Mister. First of all, I thought you wanted a princess. I am not a princess. Secondly, you said if a princess caught you with another lady she'd be angry- which is all kinds of messed up, I would hope your partner would trust you to be able to spend time with other women. Finally... I am free tonight. I'd feel better if I could watch over Gunter too. Just to make sure he heals ok. Yarrow is a bitter healing plant, but I am worried about him."

"Listen, lady, you already gunked up my Princess plan, so unless Gunther here gets sick again, the ladies aren't gonna come!" His plan seems convoluted, but obvious to him; she's already here, she's a lady, and he's the most eligible bachelor in the Ice Kingdom. Does he need to say more?

"Oh, you'd think it'd be that easy but these ladies have... what did they call them, Gunther?" The penguin is sound asleep. Ice King rubs his chin for a moment, "oh, right. Expectations." It's said as though the concept is little more than a nuisance.

He seems to light up when she says she's free tonight like she got on one knee and proposed. Gunther is merely an afterthought as he shuffles around with glee. Wow, maybe GOLB really is smiling down on him today. A hot lady comes to him and wants to stay over with no kidnapping or coercion!

"Now we're talking! What are you waiting for? I've already got my ice prison all set up for our little sleepover!"

Without warning, he grabs her by the wrist and takes off into the sky, his beard parting and flapping like a pair of wings. Gunther is tucked haphazardly under his arm as they float upwards towards his open window.

Before Rose could argue that using his penguin's condition to try and get ladies was weird, he mentioned an ice prison and off she's brought. She's too scared to move, afraid she'd throw him off balance and kill them all.

The fact his beard was how he flew was weird, sure, but in all her travels, she had learned not to question weird things.

"Please don't drop me." She's never been too good with heights, so this is getting scary for her.

Aside from that, she's mostly quiet. Odd for her. Not that this guy would know that...

Rose snorted at the thought.

"The stories aren't wrong. You're a hero. I might not know the full story of what happened after you saved the day, but I know enough to trust you completely. Besides, I knew who you were as a wolf, isn't that proof enough that I know more than most?" The last comment was ignored, for now. Rose knew before she left home she didn't do much on a daily basis. Now as an adult she did much more with her life.

"What if you had gotten the wrong wolf?" The golden wolf looked much like him, after all, aside from color. He may differ from a wolfos, but he didn't look that unique aside from the 'accessories', right? "Or what if the person had gotten lost to the wolf? The transformation was born of a curse."

"All I'm saying is, I think why i get why your friends there have questions about your judgement. It was a risky move, no matter what you've heard."

Rose shrugged. "I didn't think those things through. You have a unique appearance as a wolf. I can't think of another wolf that has a shackle and pierced ears, after all." She explained.

"You are right, though. There's a reason my judgment is questioned."

Rose knew she had to tread carefully if the stranger didn't recognize a phone.

"Where I'm from, you wouldn't really stand out. In fact, I stand out more than you would. As for what's in my pocket... it's a common device back home for communicating." Her left hand stayed on the necklace while she brought her right up a bit, checking to make sure her engagement ring was still there...

It was.

that gets a hum of thought. "So a magic doohickey of some sort? Not my expertise, but I bet a certain grump I met would have a better understanding." Her comment is casual, interest there, but no real investment. "Or, I suppose that bird would be similarly curious."

a pause.

A flick of the tail.

Cat curiosity wins, and she caves. "...Hows it work?"
