He was on top of his work at the moment, so sparing some time to help the girl figure out a counter spell to her problem would be a great way to pass the time. He didn’t like being unproductive, even when he had free time. “If you want me to of course.”

“Right, well, um, that, that would be good,” Rose nodded slowly, still taking in the offer somewhat. Another set of eyes would mean getting through books faster, and she was never one to turn down productivity. “You’re not like averaging a T or something, are you?” she asked pointedly, suddenly wary that this offer was going to hinder her rather than help.

Scorpius rolled his eyes, stepping back as he pulled his hand away. Noticing blood, he sighed. “Well, I was simply walking by, Weasley. I wasn’t asking to be hit with that bloody door.”

“There’s still room to change it up,” Vic smiled, putting a bigger paintbrush into Rose’s hand. “Now I’m going to give you a color - which you get no say in - and you’re going to re-paint over what you did, with messier strokes. Trust me on this.”

“Messier strokes?” Rose practically groaned. “Ok, you know I don’t like to say this, but I don’t think I can do this, Vic.”

“They’re not the worst shoes to get stuck with for the rest of your life, but I get why you’d want to remove them,” Nick chuckled, surprisingly interested by her shoe problem. “If you need any help, let me know. I’m sure there’s a spell to reverse the spell you did on them in the first place.”

“Oh, there is,” Rose began to grumble, “it just doesn’t do a thing. Which means I am now going to spend my afternoon in the library searching for a counter spell that actually works. You should be careful who you offer help to, you know, I’m not exactly the type to be all ‘oh no, it’s fine, thank you!’.”

“We could,” Rose considered with a thoughtful expression. “Surely most of the female populous would agree, we might even get a handful of other genders to stand with us.”

Feeling the heat rise to her face Autumn kept her face down in fear the tears may may themselves known. She hated not being liked, but she hated crying in public more. “Though…it isn’t interrupting if you believe someone is speaking to you. I was just leaving anyways. You can go back to your conversation. I a-apologize for interrupting.” She sighed deeply as she rose from her seat and started packing up her things. Even though it was a lie she could do with a good fly. 

“Just how am I supposed to do that?” Rose continued, unable to stop her anger as it grew out of proportion. “She’s gone, I’m not going to chase after her, now, am I? I’m wearing designer boots, for Merlin’s sake!”

Wincing, Scorpius grabbed his head as he backed away from the door that had swung open and hit him in the face. “Bloody hell!” He exclaimed, standing up and glaring. “Watch when you’re opening bloody doors!” 

“Seriously, Malfoy? It’s a door, what exactly did you think it would do? It’s going to open. Just standing around on the other side isn’t exactly going to be wise, now, is it?”

“Everyone can be artistic, Ro,” Vic reasoned. “You’re putting too much thought into it. Art isn’t meant to be precise and neat. This is your chance to create chaos. Paint what you feel. Or at least how the topic makes you feel,” she said with passion. Victoire loved to paint. “What’s the topic?”

“We were each given a style of muggle painting to create a piece in. I got expressionism. I think the professor secretly hates me,” she whined, looking at the accurate painting in front of her, completely lacking any intentional distortion.
