“Are you sure that’s in your syllabus?” Jayden asked, rather shocked by the question. “It wasn’t a few years ago.”
“No, sir, this is more personal reading.”

“No, sir, this is more personal reading.”
tcddy-lupin:
“It definitely looks like something to worry about.” Teddy said, crossing his arms over his chest.
“I’m fine, Teddy, I promise,” James replied, not making eye contact with him so he hopefully couldn’t see him wince as he moved.
“It’s just a scratch. Nothing to worry about.”
jaydensdavidson:
“Oh, go on, humour me. What would you give me for detention, if I were a student.”
“Alright...” James said, “For being out after hours? Just one night. If you didn’t go back to your dorm? Probably another day. And if you snuck out again? A week.”
rosesweasley:
“You are very cheesy, Potter. If you keep that up you’re going to inherit your grandfather’s reputation.”
“That was the old James, remember?” He paused, “As in the old me, not the older James Potter I.”
faustindelaney:
“Quite right! I’d complain and have it revoked, I would!“ Faustin added teasingly.
“And we couldn’t have that, now could we?”
rebekahdavidscn:
“Today maybe – but you’d be surprised I’ve gotten out of an errand by being asleep when my dad owls for me.”
“Well when you’re asleep, you’re asleep. Unless you’re lying about it,” James teased.
lilylunaspctters:
“Anything’s possible,” she agreed with a shrug. Because she was the youngest, Lily always felt like everybody avoided telling her things. She was mature enough, but they all still treated her like a child. As much as Lily loved her family, she hated being treated like a little kid. “Well I’ll let you know if I get a letter if you want,” she added with another shrug randomly.
James shrugged, “I don’t mind to be honest. You’re welcome to tell me if you want,” He looked down at his watch, “I should probably go. I don’t want to be late for class.”
nichclaswest:
“Hah, you keep talking like that and I’ll get a big head,” he joked.
James laughed, “Somehow I doubt that.”
victciresweasley:
“Like I said James,” Vic said with a giggle, “I’ve got your back.”
“I’m glad to hear it. It’s always nice to know someone does.”
jasonlongbottoms:
“Hm, no. But I’m here anyway. Are you going to do something about it?”
“Well, for start, I’m gonna have to give you detention. And then walk you back to your common room.”
rosesweasley:
“Well it seems you get the pleasure of my company then, even if it is due to an error.”
“Your company is always appreciated,” James replied with a grin.
jaydensdavidson:
“Are you sure? I would be rather impressed if you did give me detention, I think. Well, until I actually had to do it, at least.”
“I don’t think I can give a professor detention, sir. Especially because it’s usually the professors who supervise and run detention.”
faustindelaney:
“For not giving me a detention of course.”
“It would have been terrible of me to give you detention. I’d be undeserving of my title as head boy if I did.”
rebekahdavidscn:
“That’s why I’m not even a prefect,” she joked. “That and so I can go to sleep as soon as possible.”
“If that were the case, you wouldn’t be awake now. You may not be a prefect but you’re the daughter of a professor,” James teased as they began walking.
lilylunaspctters:
“Oh okay, I see,” she nodded shortly with a smile.
“I’m sure there’s a letter on the way for you too, anyway. They rarely write to us all at the same time. You know how dad is at remembering things,” James joked, “Plus mum probably rewrites the letter anyway so that we can read it.”
nichclaswest:
“It’s nice to hear that you think that way.”
“I don’t see how anyone could think the opposite. You seem like great company.”
