I have some bad news. It could happen at any second.

There is no new chapter, it was just a bad dream. In reality, everything is fine and bros are hanging out together
anyways take heat waves seriously. heat strokes and heat exhaustion are real. drink water. wear sunscreen. stay covered or in shaded areas if you can. pay attention to your skin - if it’s super flushed and your face is redder than usual, get under some shade and cool down IMMEDIATELY. pay attention to kids and elders too.
Originally put this in the tags but I think it might be more useful as a reblog. Anyway short tips from someone who regularly deals with 100°F+ weather in the summer. I use these when the AC goes out or it's so hot that the max air setting still outputs warm air:
if you dont have blackout curtains, put tinfoil on your windows. you can use a little water on the glass to stick it on there like vinyl to reflect the sun back out. You don't need to measure it perfectly, just sticking kitchen foil over the glass is enough
take bowls of ice and set them around the room you're trying to keep the coolest. Ice set in front of a fan can also help.
dehumidifier. now.
if you have carpets or rugs on the floor that are removable consider rolling them up for a little while. hard floors can be cold and nice on feet.
cold wet bandanna around the forehead and if desperate: cold wet socks
Electronics Generate Heat. Maybe not a huge amount but if you have a gaming computer or laptop that outputs a lot of hot air, it will heat the room even if you think its too little or too slow to notice
drink water like your life depends on it because in some cases. it will.
you are more vunerable to heat if you take meds that are SSRIs. you need more water and more caution if you do.
'Star Wars' and 'Harry Potter' are two franchises that try to claim, textually, that it doesn't really matter who your family is whilst showing subtextually that it unequivocally does matter who your family is.
subtext isn't a thing dude
Welp, there’s my entire literature degree disproven.
Amaury "Chocolate Guy" Guichon is undoubtedly an extremely skilled sculptor in chocolate but I think my favorite thing about a lot of his videos is the effort he puts into putting actual dessert food under the sculpture work
So many of his desserts & pastries have at least 5 layers of different textures & flavors. Fruit jams, caramel, cake, creams, mousse, cookies, meringue, crumb layers etc
That's what makes his work truly impressive to me, especially as someone who quickly got tired of the "knife that turns everything into cake" thing, where it was all basic chocolate cake buried under 13 layers of fondant
It takes amaury's work from an impressive stunt to "if I ate that, it would probably be the best thing I'd eat in my whole life"
OKAY I must geek out about this because it's extra cool!
Chef Guichon is a ridiculous expert at entremets, a type of layered dessert that usually involves and centers around a mousse layer. These aren't new, you're just less likely to see even simple ones in bakeries because they are super time consuming to prep. A solo person making an entremet will probably take 1-2 days to get all the components ready since they all need to cool before you layer it all together.
And Guichon puts a ton of effort into supporting and protecting textures, even by entremet making standards. Nuts baked into cake layers, jams and mousses placed as to absorb into the cake/crunch layer slowly, it's all built around keeping an appealing flavor and texture profile. And all that gets harder to do cleanly the more layers you add. After all, even the crunchiest cookie bits placed too close to mousses will turn soft with enough time.
There are plenty of bakers who make complex layered mousse desserts. Guichon is utilizing these techniques at a ridiculously high level alongside expert chocolate sculpting, and I really wish the layers got appreciated more because it's all so neat!
The rare excellent piece of writing on AI
Are we going to talk about the link to the thread where chatgpt told someone how to infuse garlic in oil and the instructions brewed botulism which could have killed their whole family
