I did a sketch for a friend almost three years ago. I inked it, and I painted it, and I nearly ruined it, but I had the good sense to photograph it right after inking (I don’t have a scanner). 

It’s sat in my laptop for those three years and every now and then I pull it up to figure out how to finish it. I’ve re-painted it twice IRL, and twice digitally, and every time I got closer to something I like before putting it away again.

Today I figured I’d give it another go, and put a good couple-three hours in. Since I still don’t completely get color I used a pair of Dizzy Tara’s ‘random’ palettes. 

So on this day, in 2016, I think I’ve finished it. 

Oddly enough, I didn’t realize how much I had Black Dynamite, I’m Gonna Git You Sucka and pretty much anything Van Peebles’ related on the brain. 

Hm. It is February.

One for the evening. I Thought I’d play around with negative space, really enjoyed it. Simpler, in a way. I got to ignore the details drawing with the eraser. Popping in specific shapes to imply form. So...

Netflix’d and chilled with the lady last night; Crimes and Misdemeanors and take-out chinese. Been trying to finish work lately, rather than post sketechbook pics. Not sure about these colors, maybe too saturated? It’ll do tonight.

Had the biological diversity of a certain South American island on the brain the past few weeks.

Brooklyn is just so away at 230am. Plus, j. Beiber has some nice tunes.

Fallen off the inktober wagon, but that doesn’t mean I can Inkvember or Inkcember, knowhatimean?

Practice is practice is practice and I ain’t winning no champ’ships without it.
