WHAT IS CHARLOTTE HOLMES AND SHOULD I READ IT

OH MY GOD TIME FOR AN INFODUMP IM SO AUTISTIC ABOUT THESE BOOKS

ok so the charlotte holmes series is a series of 4 books [a study in charlotte, the last of august, the case for jamie, and a question of holmes]. AND THEYRE SO GOOD OH MY FUCJING GOD

essentially, a study in charlotte follows Jamie Watson [great great great grandson of John Watson, yknow the Sherlock Watson]. he moves from England to a boarding school in Connecticut, closer to his estranged father, and there he meets Charlotte Holmes [great × whatever granddaughter of Sherlock Holmes]. their families hadn't been on great terms for a while but he had always dreamed of meeting her, but when he does, it's because he's sticking up for her against the school's biggest asshole (and the guy who had bullied her for years). there's eventually a fight, and they part ways with charlotte making it very clear that she can stick up for herself. HOWEVER! when her bully is murdered later that night, charlotte and jamie find themselves the #1 suspects and have to work together to figure out who actually killed him.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND THIS SERIES!!!!!! IT HAS AMAZING CHARACTER GROWTH, REPRESENTATION OF MENTAL ILLNESSES AND COMPLEXITIES OF DIFFERENT FRIENDSHIPS!!! PLUS AN AMAZING SLOWBURN WHERE YOU KNOW THAT THEYRE MADE FOR EACH OTHER AND THEY KNOW IT BUT THEY ALWAYS TAKE IT SLOW TO MAKE SURE THAT ITS HEALTHY FOR THE BOTH OF THEM!!!!

there are some big tws tho: this series includes depictions/discussions of: sa, child neglect, manipulation, murder, violence, sh, depression, su!cid@l thoughts, and underage drug/alcohol usage nothing is super graphic but it can get really deep and a lil upsetting at points

overall, this is one of my favorite book series ever and I'd highly reccomend it to literally anyone. repressed people in love solving mysteries!! bc they are intrinsically tied together RAHH I COULD TALK ABT THEM FOREVER

(also Jamie's ethnicity is never canonically stated but it's widely believed he's desi just so you know!)
