wore the pieces that have been in some state of completion to a local medieval market.
Nachtfuchstiefen I - Day Two
By morning I'd worked up the courage to show my face and chat up some of folk in the tavern. Maybe it was the lingering alcohol that loosened my tongue or sheer foolishness. If I hadn't done something soon, I might have died of boredom making my limbs feel like they were full of ants. I had to find out what was going on with that dungeon.
Over breakfast, I met the Goose Knight who wasn't really a knight and an Alchemist I mistook for a scribe. The not-Knight said he was a squire working to become a Knight but he'd lost his Knight on the road. I laughed, thinking he was joking. He wasn't. I can only guess that his knight had died and he'd failed to save him.
I saw the pretty woman and her guard again, too. Turned out she wasn't a princess at all but a priestess of a so called Order of the All-Seeing Star. Some religious humbug. The types that claim to help the poor, then steal your money and make you thank them for it. Common opinion around the table seemed to disfavour them. Their faith and practises were eagerly interrogated and poked fun at. If it affected them, they didn't show it, holding steadfast to their believes, eagerly spreading the good word of the All-Seeing Star.

it's slowly coming together. most of the credit goes to my husband @gleefulvampire, i just do some of the handsewing. currently hand quilting the second sleeve and figuring out the embroidery that will go on the surcoat.

i spend more time over here these days (self-hosted). if you want to see more crafting adventures, that's where it's at.
if any mutuals want to join my fedi instance, DM me. i guarantee nothing in terms of potential data loss or downtime. it's a hobby project and i'm only paying for so much storage space.
i finished writing Vik's diary entries for the first LARP. now to edit.
i've already made edits to part one.
i've not made much art this year yet. aside from work, i've been busy crafting various things for LARP, world building the backstory for those same characters and writing.
i also got a new sketchbook and have been sketching more in the meatspace. i bought watercolors to try and experiment more with color. i'll post more of those things soon (here and on my blog).
oh and i've been helping with home renovations occasionally:
Surrounded by dust, wires spilling out of gaping walls and an old-fashioned telephone, I started thinking about the humans that have touched

I already posted about this on my other blog but here's the (almost) final result of the rosary-inspired talisman for Alestus (right) and concept art (left).
The talisman was passed to him by his grandmother and is a relic of the old religion that was centered around ancestor worship (and still needs fleshing out). Horseshoe nails to ward off bad spirits of the dead and a loop to trap them.
Pendants, beads and leather cord was purchased off Etsy.
it is done.
working on attaching fur to a jacket for a LARP character. will add some patches later, too.
Nachtfuchstiefen - Part I (Day One)
Dear reader, if you've found this account, I'm either dead or you've stolen these pages. Maybe you killed me. Fuck you in that case. I guess I had it coming. Maybe I never deserved this second chance. I'll let you decide for yourself.
A month ago, I met graveyard keeper Sixt just outside the city gates Zenith. He's a weird guy. I don't know much about him. He saved my life so I felt like I owed him my company, at least for a little while. I didn't know the extend of my debt then and was happier for it. Since we started our adventure together, I've grown increasingly nervous of his presence and influence on me.
Sometimes I catch him whispering to himself. I'm not convinced that he isn't possessed, or some ancient being that's taken to haunting me and finds delight in my torment. He possesses a sizeable fortune of gold that he inherited from his family, the graveyard keepers of Jasper, a sizeable town just south of the capital. I don't know what happened to make him leave or who tends to the dead in his absence nor did I know that dealing with the dead was so lucrative.

roadkill
i changed my url (vinzred -> rotkap). i never liked it before. it felt too proper, too formal and it didn't look right. i want to start posting more about upcoming LARP projects— crafting and story building, here and on my non-Tumblr blog.
rotkap like rotkäppchen because my first LARP character wears a very distinct red hood and that may or may not catch on as the moniker for his forgery business.
