I was so fortunate to see #Walidraad presents this project during its earlier stages. Now on view @themuseumofmodernart #nottobemissed
There are bands you meet again and again at certain junctures. They become a soundtrack for crucial moments in life, sure, but their presence becomes more potent. They move to the foreground and become a driving force for the convoluted plot line we accidentally call life. When I listened to Blur for the first time I was almost pre-teen. Their insistence on British culture, fueled by an uncompromising accent and perfectly ragged tunes, made my friends and I to yearn for different horizons, spaces and experimentations. We grew up as they perfected their craft and defined audio-visual highlights of our daily pursuits. When the documentary No Distance Left to Run made its way to Tel Aviv, we had to see it. When we left the theater I felt confronted with that teenager, with the energies I once felt, with the thrust of the nineties suddenly burning again under my feet. We went for a drink at a bar that no longer exists. I felt powerless and excited, inspired and intimidated. It was a catalyst. It was only a few short months after that that I began paying my dues and kept the promises I once made to myself. we began our journey into the Southern heart of Upstate NY. Its been five years of hard work, dreams that came true and others that we began to imagine together. I thought about all that as I was riding into NYC by train, to meet my wonderful husband, the kind of man I could only dream of as a teenager, after leaving our gorgeous baby with my amazing mother at our beautiful house. Narcissistically speaking, Blur came to give me a reality check, like they always do. As I waved my hand tonight at Madison Square Garden, the one with our recently created family crest tattooed on it, I felt astonished and grateful. Being third row also doesn't hurt. Hope to meet again soon. @damonalbarn @blurofficial @blurnorthamerica @davidrowntree @grahamcoxonhk #blur #blurinnyc

The veterans of this neighborhood still remember the family that ran a hotel and the fish flapping around the small fountain facing the street. At some point, women soldiers would stay there, taking off their uniforms and stroll the adjacent Dizengoff Street at night. I remember how the hotel owners son turned religious and converted the space into a half way house, which was home to a struggling rock band and one of my classmates. I missed the final transformation of the space - for now - into an exclusive apartment building #UrbanDecay #nighttimetlv
In this house in Pertach Tikva a woman named Rachel Halevi was murdered in late 19th century. As Liora Halperin presents her story I suddenly realize she is a distant relative of mine #JewishSurprises #AIS #Concordia

Meet #Obrah. Every day he draws abstract geometric shapes in black and white on rice paper in seventh avenue. He hangs the drawings on the wall as he complete them and at the end of the day they go back into his black bag. Each is marked on verso: their date of creation, their ranking in his "fav" order, the location in which he painted them, and his stamp. "That is the only way I have to keep track of them," he explains. The circle in the center of the cube, he added, reflects how his mind needed to clear itself #StreetArt
