"Do I have to say nice things to you? Well, I suppose the one ear you have remaining is fun to watch bounce up and down when you move it..."
"You see that? Simon thinks I'm fun~ I am sooooo much funnnnn..."
i honestly don't really understand why "some people prefer watching gameplay online rather than playing games themselves" is treated as such a taboo when being a spectator is considered a pretty mundane way to engage with most sports, game shows, reality tv or even just like. chess.
Cassidy unleashed a black inky tentacle grabbing plushtrap and pulling him into the darkness "come here you little git!"
@golden-trifecta
Scream as loud as you want tiny rabbit))
"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGG!!"
The creature shrieks as he is yanked off into the darkness. As soon as he might even slightly be able, he'd twist around and try to gnaw off the tentacle (if he wasn't prevented from doing so first).
The vengeful spirit holds him up in air by leg "Huh...you don't seem to have much for brains in there do you... " she grinned "i always wanted a dog after susie wouldn't shut up about hersc
The mechanical creature tried to pull himself self into biting range of the tentacle gripping his leg, but his motors weren't strong enough to bring him up all the way.
He stopped and let himself flop back down.
"Plushtrrrrrrrap..." He blinked one eye at a time.
((there are so many good fnaf songs it's crazy. Really a fan of JT Music stuff particularly some of their more recent work. I changed my Discord status to a line from Tears in the Rain in January and I haven't touched it since except to add an emoji
It is a shame how many creeps pop up in the space tho. I remember finding a Vanny song that was really good, listened to it a bunch, and even started to memorize the lyrics, but then I saw a callout on Tumblr about how the singer was an actual Nazi. WTF?
What's your favorite Fnaf song?
((It'd have to be a tie between the FNAF Movie main theme and the FNAF 1 Song from the Living Tombstone. They're just so iconic and include elements that really sum up the series and its themes. They have a haunting quality to them that makes them perfect for the missing children/haunted/classic animatronics.
Honorable mentions go to Hat Trick by JT Music for the unapologetic Springtrap charisma and Nothing Left of Me by Gabriel McDowell for its fantastic overall quality and lyrics.
@rotten-rabbit-pizzaria JOINED THE NOT SO DIGITAL CIRCUS in the real world for post-series! They want Pomni, Caine and Con's (AU Verse)
"Here. You look cold," Pomni would drape a blanket over their back near the fire. They were in the dead of winter, at least Caine left them plenty of supplies and a few tents while waiting for the 'heat' to die down with all those data-centers suddenly gone along with the incident in Europe from 'The Escape'. She'd then put a series of 'hot-dogs' on metal rods against the flame, "Well this is nice- it reminds me of camping in Montana in certain spots when getting away from everything. Caine will probably be a while until we can get a Circus going again... mostly to hide in I guess? I'm not sure."
Vel had been shivering and rubbing his paws together near the fire. His shoulders relaxed as soon as the blanket touched his back. He wrapped it around himself, the edges dragging on the ground.
"Thanks."
"You went camping? My father was always 'too good' to sleep on the ground. Is it always like this? Minus the hiding part, of course." He smiled at her.
He hadn't known her long, but the jester had been one of the more approachable of the Circus members.

((More videogames should let you choose the gender of characters other than the player character. I LOVED this about Shovel Knight: Shovel of Hope. Really wish they would've made more alt sprites for the other campaigns because the genderbent designs were so cool and it was really nice to be able to sit down to a game of OOPS! All Women.
If not that then at least have more women-heavy miniboss squads, enemies, and allies in things that aren't dating sims and where the women in question aren't all conventionally attractive.
Send 🎮 for a video game hot take / unpopular opinion.

I didn’t realise this had to be said until I came across a reel of someone in hospital but dear GOD if you’re in London during this heatwave do not swim in the fucking Thames PLEASE do not even touch the Thames I can name like five different ways you will be violently killed just off the top of my head STAY AWAY FROM THE THAMES and for that matter stay away from lakes/rivers in general and stick to safe, supervised areas of water such as swimming pools because the heat isn’t worth the risk of drowning, strong currents, harmful microbes, cardiac arrest with no help in sight etc. etc. PLEASE stay safe in this weather, especially if you’re not used to it!!
Does having humans in a setting with anthropomorphic animals make it more confusing than if there were just anthro animals?
Yes

I feel like ODD being an official disorder in the DSM should be the thing that makes everyone go “hm” about how psychology is practiced
[looking a child directly in the eye] i diagnose you with Shitty Bitch Syndrome. this makes it legal to do medieval german tortures to you by the way
cmon man
Hi I have an undergrad psych degree! I also have ADHD! In my motherfucking TEXTBOOK, the authors said, “Research describes ADHD as a neurodevelopmental disorder in the same vein as Autism. We are putting the (miniscule) section on ADHD in the same chapter as ODD, though, because we believe really these disorders both boil down to ✨️ people not doing what we tell them to because they are lazy✨️”
So my actual TEXTBOOK admitted that it was biased and teaching these disorders based on opinion and not up to date research. And, as described above, the section on ODD was basically just, “these are bad kids. We will not look into why or how or what comorbidities exist and we will also not be exploring the possibility of ODD really being a manifestation of trauma/undiagnosed adhd/autism/pathological demand avoidance/persistent drive for autonomy. We will however be mostly focusing on how annoying these kids are to their parents and teachers ✨️”
It’s fucking crazy. “Yeah we know lots of people with autism struggle to follow demands. They may either ignore/not register demands or have meltdowns when demands are placed. They may engage in physical aggression, verbal aggression, and property desctruction when directed to complete tasks or be exposed to uncomfortable sensory input. They may need to know the why behind demands and consequently argue with authority figures. They may be easily upset by sensory input or social interactions and have emotional outbursts when pushed beyond their limits. Some children with autism seek attention and may engage in maladaptive behaviors to elicit the attention of peers and caregivers if positive attention is not given freely/if they are ignored when behaving appropriately. All of these are symptoms of their underlying neurological differences and should be met with compassion and understanding. They are not bad children. Their brains process information differently and therefore they have executive functioning, sensory processing, and emotional regulation challenges that cause these behaviors.
Those kids over there? Yeah they have all the same symptoms but they are just Morally Wrong and Bad Children. They have Oppositional Defiance Disorder. How can I tell? Well that one hand flaps and that one doesn’t.”
How would you even measure that?
Things adults wrongly identify as arguing:
Asking for clarification
Asking any kind of question
defending yourself
answering a question teh adult has just asked you
breathing
Existing
Oh, also:
Race and the Mental Representation of Individuals Diagnosed with Oppositional Defiant Disorder: Implications for Diagnosis
Results: Classification images (CIs) showed that the children selected as having ODD appeared more prototypically Black in facial appearance than children not chosen as having ODD. No differences emerged in the gendered appearance of the two group-level CIs. Judged rates of ODD were higher for the children who appeared to be Black. However, diagnostic judgments of clinical trainees and practitioners were unaffected by appearance factors, suggesting that formal clinical training might attenuate the influence of stereotypes on judgment. Discussion: These results indicate that an overlap in Black stereotypes and diagnostic criteria for ODD might contribute to elevated diagnosis of ODD in African American children.
Overwhelmingly Black diagnosis.
Pathologizes problems with authority to dismiss them as irrational.
Also- a lot of states’ MDD departments require a diagnosis of a developmental disorder (such as autism) before a certain age (20 in mine) in order to receive state aid such as housing, education, and vocational help.
Hm I wonder who this would effect if a diagnosis of ODD kept being used in place of an actual diagnosis that could qualify as a protected disability…
(Other common disabilities/issues that arise in children could also lead to the “questioning authority” things like hearing difficulties, vision changes/problems, sensory problems, an infection, perhaps sudden changes in home environment, abuse, etc).
The recent hot VS cold polls have made me realise that a lot of people have no idea how to cool down.
As someone from a hot country that's regularly on fire, here's some tips:
WATER IS YOUR FRIEND! WATER! IS! YOUR! FRIEND! You can transfer SO much heat into this bad boy! You cannot cool down without water!
Wrists under the cold tap. Splash your face and the back of your neck. Fan yourself.
In some countries you can buy a little handeld fan with a water sprayer.
Damp tea towel around the neck. Stick an ice pack in there on hotter days.
Half fill a water bottle with water, stick in freezer. If you use a bottle with a straw, make sure it's lying on its side with the straw side up and out of the water. When frozen top up the rest of the way with tap water and off you go.
Desperate to cool off? Wet T-shirt. Sit in front of a fan. This will nuke it, just don't get hypothermia and don't fall asleep like this.
Cold showers are also your friend in summer. Some people get psyched up by these. Personally, I sleep like a baby, so I'm good to have them before bed. Just keep in mind that it takes a bit of time for the cool to circulate, so your body will tell you that you're colder than you actually are. I find that when I have cold showers I need to step out of the spray when I think I'm cold... I'll just wait, and thirty seconds later the temperature has evened out and I actually need to step under again. Rinse and repeat until you maintain coolness even after stepping out for a bit.
If you can't do cold showers, turn the cold shower on anyway and just stick your arms under. When they're cold, lift your arms up above your head. The sensation of cool blood draining into your body is fucking weird and kinda unpleasant but less unpleasant than being hot.
Feet in a tub of water with ice. Blood naturally flows to your extremities when hot, so take advantage of this. If you don't have a tub of ice water, sticking a wet rag on your feet in front of the fan works too, it's the less powerful version of the wet T-shirt.
Drinks lots of water but make sure that water has electrolytes as well. Stay in the shade.
Keep air circulating. Fans don't actually cool rooms down, they just help transfer heat from your body to the moisture on your skin or the air via evaporative cooling.
Block north facing windows early in the morning so the sun doesn't get in. If you're in the northern hemisphere, this is opposite for you. Keep in mind that if your home is brick, the bricks will still heat up and slowly release heat into your home even after the sun goes down so this will only do so much.
If it's hotter inside than outside, close all your windows but two, making sure they're on opposite sides of the house/unit you're in. Point a fan out of one window, making sure that the doors between the rooms with the open windows are all open. This will help create a mini pressure system in your home, pulling cooler air in and pushing the hotter air out via the fan. Bonus points if you can get that fan high up where the hot air rises; even within a single room the top is much hotter than the air by the floor. Adjust the amount of open windows based on how many fans you have, but generally you want more windows with fans open than windows without fans to keep the pressure correct.
Obviously, use your common sense for these. Not everything WILL work for you, just use the stuff that does and adjust what needs to be adjusted. Some of these will be impossible to use in the workplace but others you can still use. Others are best used at home. If humidity impacts your ability to use any of these, get a dehumidifier if that's an option, or use more ice instead of evaporation.
Also keep in mind that the skinnier you are, the faster these will work. More fat means more insulation, means more heat, so you may need to be more patient with some of these or use them in combination.
Bringing this back for my dying mutuals
Semi-related but DO NOT use USB fans. A lot of them, especially the cheap ones, can damage the electronic that it's plugged into. Use a dedicated, freestanding fan instead.
