Pauling chuckled a bit, rolling her eyes just the same. “Scouts just like to go fast, in every way possible. That’s what makes them the best for the job. I would know I help with the… Scouting.” She couldn’t contain her laughter at her own stupid pun. She tried, but eventually burst into a guttural laugh, bending over slightly, almost tearing up.

“Oh my god, Miss Pauling.” She hid her face in a hand, grinning. “I’ll admit, that was a little impressive that you slid that pun in.”

Kowalski looked around before pinpointing where he mask was and grabbing it in case Miss Pauling wanted her to wear it for job purposes. “So, what now? We head somewhere or something?”

“Oh, uh… Thanks.” She could feel her cheeks flush out of embarrassment. Curse her easily colored face. She attempted to cover it up by adjusting her glasses.  “Well, I can answer that easy enough because… Well, there’s too much sensitive information. To have more people involved in general would be… Dangerous.”

Heatwave starters (Bc im dying myself)

The water balloon hit the Scout dead in the cheek, bursting all over the red-wearing boy. A yelp of surprise followed by sputters in a recoil, and finally “OH GOD ITS IN MY NOSE”

Parker leaned over, cringing and soaking wet now as he tried to expel the invading water and likely a balloon bit or two from his nose, coughing briefly. 

“WHY?!”

Kowalski peeked from the corner, blinking when she saw where she hit him. Oh, that wasn’t the place where she wanted to hit him.

“The place where I hit was an accident! Meant to aim for your torso!” She called over before stepping from behind the wall and walking over. She was the pyro, that’s for sure, but she only thing she was wearing from her uniform was the pants and boots, a tank top on instead of the fire-proof coat.

“Having a blind eye doesn’t help with aiming, apparently.”

He groaned, rubbing the underside of his nose with the back of his bandaged hand, giving a rather unhappy look to the Pyro.

Wait, Pyro? Oh. Parker quirked a brow, having not really seen the other RED outside of (most) her uniform like this. Granted, he wasn’t around the Pyro that much to begin with outside of fights. He rubbed the side of his face that was hit, his disgruntlement momentarily distracted.

“Yeah, I..” Blind eye? Well shit, now he just felt like an ass for what he was about to say. “Pro’lly doesn’t, no.”

“Yeah, I don’t have to aim much. Sorry for getting you in the face.” She apologized before grinning. “Team was thinking of either going to the pool or have a water gun -- and balloon -- fight. My dad, our demoman, is asking the administration for permission. If we’re allowed, wanna join? It’s hot as hell, you know? Don’t think anyone wants to burn out here.”

Like hell she was going to deal with this heat without any water, whether used in a friendly team fight or a pool.

“Luckily we all have friendly competition during battles. …Until Thomas starts being a pain in the ass and back stabs me too much. There’s tons of revenge there.”

“… Yes.” Doy. Working way too much has her forgetting the specifics of the jobs she was hiring people for. “Yeah, revenge, and Domination, I’ve seen a lot of those.” Shut UP, she thought to herself. She needed to stop thinking out loud.  “… I do not understand how I haven’t been fired,” she joked, laughing at herself and rubbing her face under her glasses.

Kowalski tilted her head, waiting for an answer. Although, if her superior didn’t want to answer, it was fine for her.

“It’s… Nnn,” Pauling stopped herself, placing a hand over her mouth. She had to think before she spoke, and a little longer than normal. Removing the hand and adjusting her glasses with it, she continued.

“Your situation is a really difficult one to explain, but you do know we hired you all to…hired you. To kill the other team.”

She quickly went to the pocket inside her suit, pulling out a black, a bit fancily designed, wand. She tapped her dislocated shoulder and murmured a spell, her should quickly popping back into place. She rolled the joint to make sure it was healed before smiling and sticking her wand back in the pocket.

“There we go. That’s why wizards and witches never leave places without their wands.”

Pauling blinked a bit in confusion. Magic was weird, she had no idea why The Administrator hired them all. “… Right, yeah.” She didn’t really have words. “… Well, I’m glad that it’s fixed and we don’t have to worry about it.” She uncrossed her arms, the faintest smile on her cheeks.

“Ah right, BLU. It’s… honestly better if you just stay on this side of things. I don’t want to have to fire any of you for fraternization with the… Enemy? No, that’s a bad word to use…” Ever awkward, she grimaced at her own word usage.

Her face got softer as she calmed down a bit. “ It’s alright, I know magic related injuries are some of the worst. Just… Make sure you pop it back in right, or you’ll really have to go to the hospital,” she grimaced, moving one hand up to her left shoulder, almost like the phantom pain of a previous experience.

Bridging the Gap

Atropos was bored out of her skull. She had done everything she could indoors and was getting more and more tired of it, so she decided to bridge the gap and go speak with some of the RED team. After all, they were just people like anyone else. A tall woman with brown hair and a pretty face passed her. She was about to keep walking when she thought that maybe this was a perfect opportunity to speak to someone. She whipped around and tapped them on the shoulder. 

“Hello it’s nice to meet you. I’m Atropos. The puppet master from the BLU team.” She reached out her hand to shake the others.

Ace had went to her team’s spy earlier to ask if she could borrow a book or two to keep her busy when she didn’t have to do much. Of course, since he knew her well because it was his job to know his teammates, he had picked out a few books that were fictional and also non-fiction.

She knew about there being a new class called the ‘puppet master’ for some time, but not really bothering to get acquainted with the one on her team. She wasn’t exactly aware of her surroundings while she was heading back to her’s and Ryan’s room before she was tapped on the shoulder, and... well, greeted by a BLU. Not uncommon, seeing that her five sons were on that team and made visits. Although the greeting was rather sudden to her.

She blinked before giving a tiny smile and shaking their hand. “Ace, the RED Heavy,” She replied before adding, jokingly, “Next time don’t be so sudden, ah?”
