Redd Walitzki’s “Stranger than Earth” at Corey Helford Gallery.
Opening on Saturday, July 15th, at Corey Helford Gallery in Los Angeles, California is artist Redd Walitzki’s striking solo exhibition, “Stranger than Earth.”
Hints of the world we now know are sprinkled throughout the hauntingly gorgeous post-apocalyptic paintings of “Stranger than Earth” where humanity has come to terms with our self-destructive plight, having transformed tragedy into surreal comforts. Redd explains her work as “a requiem to an Earth transformed by climate change; there is no going back to the world we used to know, but perhaps we can create a new world full of alien beauty.”
“Stranger than Earth” will be on view until August 12th. Be sure to continue below to check out a fantastic video documenting Redd’s process and thoughts on the exhibition:

Roxanna Walitzki’s “Exquisite Corpse EP.”
Roxanna Walitzki’s debut EP is currently available on her Bandcamp alongside limited edition prints and jewelry, featuring Roxanna as the subject, by her sister Redd Walitzki (Previously on Supersonic).
Using Fauré and Debussy’s melodies for voice and piano as framework, Roxanna’s imaginative electronic renditions transform and reawaken the scores with emotive, ornamental textures. Subtle sounds sourced from nature give muted voice to the rustling chords behind the poems. Carefully manipulated synths, vocal glitches, and sweeping guitar notes (contributed by Anomie Belle, who also mastered the tracks) add orchestral dynamics to the art-songs’ delicate, timeless power, while gently flowing introductions and postludes connect the scenes.
You can check out the music and prints (which are available only until June 10th, 2016) on the Exquisite Corpse EP Page.

One day I will forgive you; until then there are scabs everywhere that you have touched me.
The People of Paper, Salvador Plascencia
"It's something that burns and disappears into ash..." Any combustion, regardless of its intensity, must ultimately extinguish. Some fires last only for the strike of the flint, while others burn for millions of years before the day of their supernova arrives, leaving only embers and cold debris. And so love need not burn forever, just long enough for paper to smolder.
