Transplants are amazing!

For the last 2 years I have been on hemodialysis 3 times a week for 3 1/2 hours at a time due to kidney failure. My treatments were exhausting and I spent the other days either recovering from them or running to appointments.

Those days are now over because late last week I got a kidney from a living donor!

I got home from the hospital yesterday evening and while I am still sore (abdominal surgery HURTS) my mind is already more alert and I am sleeping less than have been theses last 2 years!

My donor wanted to remain Anonymous but I wrote them a letter and so did my mom.

Still a lot of healing to do but now an end is in sight for me to actually get back to living!

Didn't even know this post was moving till it hit my dash again, I put it in the replies too but it is called a "chompsaw" and it's by Chompshop

They've got all kinds of patterns and such on their site for different creative projects, it does appear to be limited to cutting cardboard so if you want to do wood you will need something beefier.

For those who might not know, the sweet man in the video is Kenny (@patriotickenny on Instagram & TikTok), an 84 year old Navy vet who raises funds to purchase mobility scooters for his fellow veterans through his Patriotic Kenny Foundation in order "to end isolation & restore independence for veterans through mobility scooters."

Kenny was also recently diagnosed with cancer and there is a GoFundMe to help with his medical expenses that the VA won't cover.

A Patriotic Kenny merch shop has also just been opened to help with funding as well. You can even buy a sticker of his first tattoo that he just got for his 84th birthday!
