Candy is Erika
Just putting it out there…
My Candy Love University Life is ending soon. They announced a “new chapter”. Candy has just finished school and is now going out into the real world. Where does Eldarya start? With Erika having finished school. The third part of MCL could be the story leading up to Erika going to El.
The stories sort of line up. It seems like Erika’s background.
AND! Candy’s aunt is a fairy. With the necromancer being introduced on MCL, it may not be Beemoov being lazy. It could be them linking the worlds together. This can explain the necromancer’s past too.
Edit!! It’s just my opinion. I think that we’re all entitled to our own opinions. I saw a lot of “Beemoov is lazy” comments on FB. It would be an interesting move on their part to combine the two stories and move some of MCL’s users to Eldarya.
This is actually a fairly common theory, though there are a few flaws with it (still good to have your head canon, but just for reference…):
Erika’s default appearance has darker hair than Lynn plus a different eye color (Purple to Lynn’s Green).
The MCL Manga Exists in the Eldarya Universe
Eldarya is a canonical game that Lynn plays/has played in MCL (Shown in the third art book on her “games” category) and has merchandise in the mall.
Erika, at the earliest, either got there after graduating high school or after graduating University. I personally go with the latter as I feel more lines up there, but University Life ends with a year time skip and then Love Life will be going even more years in so Lynn still is in the MCL universe. There’s no way for the third season to hint to that as she is no longer in school and is working now.
Their family lives don’t fully line up. Not to mention that Lynn’s parents supported her for Art History while Erika seemed pressure to go into the same line of work as her father. Her family also seemed better off than Lynn’s was.
None of the friends that Erika mentions match any of the friends we know of Lynn’s. Which could work if it wasn’t for the fact that Lynn returns to town for her final University year.
My personal favorite version of the theory is that Erika and Lynn are cousins and Erika was Agatha’s daughter and she feels the need to dote on Lynn to make up for the feeling of someone missing (or because she’s the only one who remembers her).
Outside of the appearance, family differences, and time problems though, you can argue about the Manga and Eldarya game being things someone who visited and came back did somehow (or something passed down through a family who decided to remember their friends from Eldarya before the Sacrifice). The Manga technically does not happen plot-wise so it is its own story even though it reuses characters and the character traits shown are canon (See: Nathaniel’s boxing).
There, of course, are references to an extent regardless like how Erika can bring up a surfer with a lot of tattoos she flirted with on the beach. There is a high chance that could be Dake, but… a surfer with tattoos also isn’t a super uncommon stereotype nor is the idea of a Summer fling.
Most likely though, they are just fun references. The only real linking we’ve seen is between Moonlight Lovers and My Candy Love between Chinomiko’s games.
Still fun to theorize however.
Why do you think I don’t know these things? I was sharing an opinion to theorize the necromancer. Was it really necessary to write all that just to explain I was wrong? I played both games. I put “seem” and “sort of”, not “definitely”. I know how everyone looks. You guys act like everyone is stupid. That was just rude of you. “Here’s a list of why you’re wrong, but good job anyway”.
I don’t think they’re being rude. Your post starts with “Candy is Erika”, people are just saying why they don’t think Candy is Erika. Not everyone who disagrees with you and shares their point of view (or facts) about something you said is being rude if they’re doing so in a respectful manner. Also, I don’t see how people are supposed to know what you do or do not know.
Besides they’re sharing facts. Those are things to take into consideration when we do theories, more likely they’re just being on point saying why that wouldn’t be the case.
One of the things that you need to take in consideration too is when you do a post and put in the tag as a theory, some ppl may feel like to refute your theory or even do they input about that thought. That’s actually the moment when you should’ve shined bringing more facts to refute the ones that other blog did, kiddo.
But they aren’t being rude, it’s just like Cintanna said really.
I'm not a kiddo, I'm probably older than most of you. In fact, I know I'm older than most of you. I didn't bring more facts because I wasn't trying to argue. I was trying to suggest why Beemoov was using the same character in both games. It was a response to the tags and facebook before it was a "theory". I clearly stated it before anyone reblogged the post. It was not me trying to be factual.
Here's some facts for you kiddos:
1. You all talked about complementary colors for weeks, but never mentioned Erika and Candy. Not to mention eyes and appearances could have changed after being transported into a new world.
2. Beemoov never specified what degree Erika had, only that she was a recent graduate trying to enter the workforce. Her father's job was also never specified. Also, the "pressuring" (which I never read) could have been because she didn't get a job right away. It was also implied she needed work experience before she was about to work for her father.
3. The background given on Erika is basic, any story can be created from it due to minimal information. Their personalities are almost identical.
4. MCL's illustrations are customizable. Eldarya's are not. There is a possiblity looks have nothing to do with the character, but were instead created to build a character that had no true distinguishable properties. That way, the game could create illustrations that fit everyone, by fitting no one.
5. If Erika were to look like anyone from MCL the players would automatically build the theory from the first episode. They may have presented this character as someone that cannot be tied to any game so it wouldn't spoil their plans.
6. Not all surfers have tattoos, that's a stereotype. We only have one real reference to past friends and relationships. Eldarya rarely has dialogues about events on earth. We don't even have names for family or friends.
7. The appearance of Eldarya characters at the mall or on merchandise could be a publicity stunt to gain traffic on Eldarya. It means nothing when it comes to Beemoov because they've always done this.
8. The necromancer was introduced on MCL without any information. (Which is what my original post was about). She isn't evil yet, which means MCL takes place before or after Eldarya. Either before, because obviously the necromancer isn't evil yet, or after if Erika and friends "save her".
9. Yes it was rude because "but it's fun to theorize" is a condescending statement. As is the statement "good to have a headcanon". I never stated it was a theory or a head canon, I said it might be interesting. It was toward those questioning Beemoovs decision.
10. I also said this could be the necromancers back story. I never said I know for sure this is what was happening. I even edited my post, which you've all reblogged saying I just thought it would be interesting. That was it.
This is a game, not my life. But to each its own. I never once said I had a theory, I was suggesting ways the necromancer might be incorporated into either game.
I've played Beemoov games since 2012. I have also written about that several times. That's how you find out what someone nows. Which is what I would have done. I also never brought Moonlight Lovers into any of this. I don't play that game.
Yes, a reply is fine. As others have. I don't need an essay on facts disputing my small paragraph post on why Beemoov might be using a character from Eldarya. If my post weren't filled with "could, might, and maybe" I would understand why people would respond trying to explain their side. But it's from a confessions blog, not a real persons blog.
Don't call me a kiddo, sweetie.
