hello, doves :) I just wanted to give an update with where this blog is at.
I do intend to return! the urge to write is there, and I do have ideas, it’s simply a matter of writing them down and creating an actual product.
my main reasoning for sending the blog into hiatus land was burnout. I was forcing myself to write when I didn’t want to, forcing myself to develop ideas when I had none, forcing myself to post when I didn’t want to, forcing myself to take requests and respond to asks when I didn’t really feel 100% like doing so.
moving forward, there’s going to be a lot more scheduled posts and a lot less spontaneous ones. maybe a word vomit here and there, but I want to keep a stockpile of works ready to go so I’m not posting too much too quickly and running into a wall again.
I’m working on building this stockpile, but I can’t confirm when it will be ready/when I’ll deem it good enough.
I don’t know how many people still check on this blog, but thanks for reading this :) I’ll be back eventually.

idk if you've already said this but what accents do the vessels have? I know there are some clips (mostly of iii yelling) but I don't know shit about accents lol

Vessel is proper British in my head, II sounds Mancunian to me, III sounds boro(Middlesbrough), IV is a brummie(Birmingham) but I can also seeing him as having a Lancashire accent. under the cut will be all my video sources for these conclusions, lol
I'm alright! I'm very euughhghhuh on top of some good things. eating okay, very hydrated, so much sleeping. ouuugh I love sleeping..
for Vessel, he doesn't sound exactly like Matthew but I think it's close in pitch. accent is spot on to what I have in my head for him, though:

I'm not from the UK so I can't confirm if he's fr Mancunian sounding, but that's the vibe I get. also, the voice changers are in the way, and he's definitely altering his speech here(slowing down, sounds almost like he's forcing himself to speak super clearly, too)(this is a random timestamp of him speaking if it works right, but there's tons in here):

I just woke up and can’t get this post out of my head here’s something that’s probably word vomit or descends into it enjoy
Vessel looked up from his piano as someone entered his space. Just a corner in the library, but a very private one.
He tore his gaze from the keys beneath his fingers, away from the scraps of sheet music he’d scribbled after a particularly productive commune with Sleep last night, away from his peace, and up to the disturbance.
“IV,” he greeted, voice coming out croakier than intended. Vessel cleared his throat. How long had it been since he’d spoken? Too long, probably.
“Vessel,” the younger ascendee greeted, stepping forwards. “You, uh.. you alright? You keep.. slamming.”
True. Vessel had been growing increasingly frustrated with the keys in front of him. Normally none of the numerals worried about that, though.
“Fine, IV, thank you for the concern. You, though; how are you? There are more nerves in you than usual. Are you anxious? You have no reason to be.” The vocalist pushed back his stool from the piano, leaning forwards and resting his elbows on his knees. An old, painfully human habit of his, something he alway caught himself doing and wishing he didn’t. He used to do that when his back ached from holding up his posture. Vessel hadn’t needed to in years, he had no pain. It was idiotic and annoying-
IV cut through his thoughts.
“I answered you, y’know. You’re.. you’re thinking too much again.”
“I’m making bread,” he blurted out, deciding against whatever else he thought to say. “Sourdough. Uh. With seeds and stuff that III found. He swears we can eat them, so I thought I’d add them. Gives the loaf a nicer texture ‘nd allat, nutritional value benefits and shit. I- I wanted t’ ask if you wanted to help. Or just be there. If you’d like.”
IV was shit at saying it, but Vessel got the memo.
“I miss you and want to spend time with you doing something we both like and this is my idea right now.”
“Of course I would.”
“Yeah?”
Vessel nodded. “Yes.”
He stood from his stool, motioning for IV to lead the way.
He took the shorter man’s hand as they walked, fingers entwined.
IV had started on the topic of how the hell he’d gotten a sourdough starter here—something about him and II “fucking around and finding out,” as they liked to say, with different plants and thanking Sleep they couldn’t die—but Vessel wasn’t particularly listening.
He’d ask again when he had a slice of bread in his hand and could actually listen. Right now, his head was filled with Sleep, his piano, his music, his chords-
but the guitarist was good at pulling him out of that for a while. Give him a moment, and he would have the first back to his usual self.
Ik I said fic this weekend but goodness gracious I’ve never been more stuck. guess who’s considering scrapping the entire chapter so far because How Do We Get Out Of This Hole
