[Corbin laughs easily.] Well, alright, sure, maybe I was a little, but see, I reckon the fix is ya can’t see ‘old’ as a bad thing. Do ya know how many fuckin’ silver foxes I’ve shagged in my day? Quite enthusiastically, I might add? Like, yum, yes please, Daddy—And at the strip club I used to work at, they had ladies’ nights, and it was mostly cougars, I’ll be real with ya. And ya know somethin’, I was never disappointed by the hires I got after workin the stage those nights. [Oh, he should probably explain. Sometimes he forgets not everyone knows he’s been a call-boy the majority of his adult life…. and a few years before that, actually.] Oh, I mean, I worked at a gent’s club which was a peeler’s place, yeah but it was also like, a cover fer an escort agency. So when I got promoted, I wound up gettin’ a lot of hires after doin’ feature stage nights. Anyway… [Thank Christ he’s drunk and can blame his rambling on the alcohol.]
Point is, [he points at her theatrically] Hot cougars are real fun lays. And I would say yer a hot cougar. So. Don’t be offended.
Oh yeah, an Infection trainer, yeah? I don’t really get put into those rotations on account’a my bein’ a sniffer, [he taps his nose—sort of his thing, apparently, when he talks about his infection.] And well, hearin’ too. But basically like, what the fuck kinda trainin’ do ya do when ya got increased senses? Don’t exactly got superhero moves to learn like them ‘kinetics or whatever. But I do like my spidey-senses, to be honest. Don’t like bein’ used like a fuckin’ hunting dog so much, but who does.
[As she makes a show of looking for her tickets, he smirks, and waves the bartender over—who is pretty busy, and barely gives Corbin a glance at first. Shite. He sighs, impatient.] Alright, Miss Picky, so ya want a free drink or not? ‘Cause if yer old age is makin’ ya too picky fer this place and yer sayin’ I should save my credits, then I will. But you be warned that ol’ Corb don’t offer to buy drinks too often. This opportunity probably won’t come along again until the next time I’m as right lashed as I am now. And bonelessly fuckin’ generous from bein’ recently shagged within an inch of my sorry life.
[Overshare of a lifetime. Which is saying something, because Corbin is quite shamelessly yappy about his sex life and work even when he’s sober. But this takes the cake. He is definitely too drunk for this.]
[There is an eyebrow that is slowly ascending towards her hairline, like a determined caterpillar on an expedition, as he talks about shagging silver foxes. Sure, she could be offended by being called old, but she called herself old ever since she was about 25. Being offended is a choice, and on most days that choice is not worth the effort. Instead, she chuckles. If anyone can understand an oversharing problem it is Roza, although she has gotten better with reeling herself in over the years. Marginally, at least.] Alright, alright, wonderfully saved young man. Although I really do prefer cougar over a fox, it does sound a lot more dangerous. Cougars can rip someone to shreds in moments, while foxes... I mean, they do make some strange sounds, I suppose. [She shudders, briefly remembering her son’s obsession with an old song. Many of them, actually, the stranger the better. Can’t blame him, it have to be her genes. Fascination with strange things does run in the family.]
Can’t say I have much experience with peelers or gentlemen’s clubs, although my life at one point could have been headed in that direction. I was quite the skilled pickpocket in my youth, out of necessity I’d say. Although I have had a preference for older men myself, they do not always know what they are doing sadly. [She sighs, but drops the topic. Maybe she should ponder turning tables at some point, but this is not the night to make decisions like that.]
I like that, sniffer. I’ve always found it a bit difficult to teach you lot, I mean, what can I actually teach you about smelling. Other than teaching everybody else about hygiene, it is quite alarming how many adults don’t seem to grasp the basic concept of that. But I do find it fascinating, nonetheless, you must have heard a lot of interesting things. And as long as they don’t put a collar and a leash on you I’d say it’s fine, I’d rather go sniff around than do laundry. [The face she makes is one of utter disgust, laundry has to be the absolute worst chore in existence and she would gladly resort to simply finding new clothes and sheets instead.] Superhero moves are overrated, anyway. I mean, it does come in handy when you have to carry heavy things, but other than that? Rather boring. A bit more variety would have been nice, but beggars can’t be choosers and all that.
