it really is tricky to accurately translate such cartoony characters to my style, so i went for kind of a compromise here and i had a lot of fun with that. i’m still open for more requests from this particular fandom, although i can’t promise to post them very consistently.  in any case it’s a very welcome change when i need a break from working on my usual stuff~.

I couldn’t resist and drew a concept of Asha’s armor and weapons.

the main inspiration (inspiration my ass! i stole those pauldrons, man) for the design was Meredith from DA2, as i’m sure many of you can see already. it is rather fitting, considering that the first thing i said to our DM during Asha’s creation was “i want him to be an edgy templar!”

now, with both his design and his entire backstory worked out, i can finally rest in peace.

behold my new Dungeons & Dragons character.

originally i wanted him to be a dual-wielding pirate rogue, but we already had two rogues in our party, so i volunteered to be a tank, since we didn’t have any of those. as for now, Asha is an eldritch knight who’s probably committed a war crime a while back, because slaughtering a bunch of people in the name of your crazy god is totally a valid excuse.

a family can be a freak of nature with unexplainable abilities, a one-eyed gloomy shitlord with tragic past, a subject of horrible genetic experiments, an androgynous cyborg hacker, a skater girl no longer afraid to be herself, an awkward basketball player with no future, a tired back-alley surgeon and a robot unable to comprehend any of their bullshit.

in the past I used to draw just eyes all the time, so I figured it wouldn’t hurt to do that again - half for fun, half as a warm up exercise of sort. it’s been quite enjoyable and allowed me to focus on the details a little bit more.

it’s been five million years since the last time i drew Ceyedriel.

I’m rather happy with the progress so far, but it’s probably going to take a while, so have a WIP for now. i think i defeated my art block, at least temporarily.
