i had another minecraft POV dream and i must write it down
there's a lot of stuff i already forgot sadly, but i think it was heavily influenced by me finally actually playing yume nikki for myself and watching others play wonderland.jar!
the yume nikki influence showed because there were specific ways to get to certain places; some tunnels led to different sections of a building that couldn't decide if it was a hospital or a school, one led to the roof of an airport, others were really just looping planes of nothingness.
additionally, events were a thing - i remember walking through the hospital corridors regularly one time, before the lights turned a dim, yet piercing red? the usual doorways to other places had also been blocked off or changed. dream me saw the same corridor again in its regular state later and went "nope not going in there again" hahaha. but it seemed the events could change the entire room. like it transported you to another version of the room, in another layer or plane of this world, one devoid of any life save for yourself - you're the only one who's slipped into it. there were people everywhere else, but they didn't speak to me or each other much. perhaps they were just there to fill the space, make you think these places are real - but as soon as you reached a deeper layer, all these projections of humans were gone. only you or other dream travelers were left.
it's very interesting to me that this dream world seemed to have real mechanics, even if some were based on chance. i know dream me had the routes and means of transportation figured out by the end. the funny thing is that most of the worlds weren't actually all that pixelated - but i still say it was a minecraft dream, because i vividly remember grabbing a water bucket and making a huge waterfall just so i could get off the airport roof safely... lol
one i do remember being very minecrafty though, is a snowy region i got to through a dark blue pipe, think like the pipes in mario games. the biome had snow over dark blue netherrack (it could be because i've been missing my minecraft AU, in which the nether DOES partially look like this). it's unfortunate i don't really remember what i did here, but there might've been dandelions there too, for some reason.
another thing i just barely remember is that one place was a cross of moving floating platforms or clouds - also like in mario, maybe this is a yume mariocraft dream? - and the platforms were colored in pale cyans and purples, like in yume nikki's block world. i think i got lost in its vastness a few times. how i got back to the main hub is a mystery.
speaking of which, the liminality of these places actually seemed to be at its peak in the hub, where you could get to a set few main locations, which would then have ways to deeper levels of them. the hub seemed to loop the most and have the least familiar architecture, things like arches and blocks and tunnels that feel more like toy blocks, geometrical shapes. trees were there, sometimes, lining endless streets - but they didn't really look as such.
...also, the huge brick construction from wonderland.jar was straight up in this dream, the only difference being there was a bottom and it had water and grass, lol. how original of my brain.
there is one more place i remember, that being some sort of blank complex. walls and floor all white, a building that only exists to be a building and host nothing inside of it. not even doors existed, save for maybe one elevator. sometimes warm golden LEDs would light up the walls, like lights shining on a piece of art in a museum... but that's no use if the walls are all empty. i believe this is one of the few locations where i met another human. brown medium hair with bangs, clothes probably as plain as the place - whether she was a fellow wanderer or an imitation, i couldn't tell you.
i wonder if i could go back to this dream, i want to explore these locations more (and revisit the ones i forgot)! this feels like some of the recurring dreams i've had, and the world seemed to have too much tangible "logic" to be a one time thing. i may not be able to lucid dream, but dream me acted pretty reasonably this time. so maybe i'll trust it to do as it wants, and we can see this world again. :P
