What are keywords, key phrases, and long tail keywords?
Keywords:Â Keywords are ideas and topics that define what a websiteâs content is about. In terms of SEO, they're the words that searchers enter into search engines, also called "search queries."
eg. if you were looking to buy a new car, you might type something like âcarâ, and brand name like âToyotaâ, âBMWâ, âAudiâ are your main keywords.
keyphrase:Â keyphrase is the search term which is a combination of those keywords that a website most wants its post or page to rank for, so when people search for that keyphrase, they should find it.
eg. if you were looking to buy a new car, you type something like âcar showroom near meâ, âbest car to buyâ, âwhich is the best car in new york cityâ are your keyphrases combination of keywords.
Long-tail keywords:Â Long-tail keywords are keywords or keyphrases that are more specific â and usually longer â than more commonly used keywords. Long-tail keywords get less search traffic, but will usually have a higher conversion value, as they are more specific.
eg. the keyword âcarâ is a âheadâ keyword because it gets 400k searches per month. The keyword âwhich is the best car to buy in 2022â is a long-tail keyword because it only gets 100 searches per month.
