My twitter refreshed before I could watch the clip but apparently Osteon confirmed that the predecessor books are tricks. Mainly meant to serve as a way to get people prepared to die for the crown which is all kinds of messed up. Everyone has been freaking out over the contents of their books believing them these horrible prophecies but instead this is just to make them the perfect soldiers. Oh Kingdom of Summer you are so fascinating to me but damn does your propaganda work.

So Osteon said that the books from the predecessors basically told the students that they WILL die on the battlefield, but not through the same fate as they did. Meaning they'll die differently.
