Joint Creature
Since my joints are starting to become an installation that will become a speculative creature i thought it needs some skin and muscle. I started experimenting with clay and liquid latex.

The joint
I started working from one shape; The joint. I really like this shape because of its movement, history and mostly the complexity and simplicity it has at the same time. No glue or other materials needed, just a shape that fits perfectly.
I will explain a bit more what I mean with history. The movement that a joint makes is super natural, it exist already for such a long time, Dinosaurus had really clear joints that created their movement and shape. Nowadays we maybe connect the movement of a joint more to industry. It can feel both mechanical and human. And now that we are on a salient point in history where machines are getting human again I think this movement and shape is extra interesting.

A peak experience VS standard or ordinary “Uprising can not happen everyday” you need boredom to experience fun.
Can there be an atonomous zone when you try and when you are alone?
I wan’t to create a system to work in where things can develop en grow from the concept of start making. I am looking for a way to bundle these findings and I question when things made in this environment get value. Does it has to do with the system or is the system just a tool to work in.

1th answer: Different shapes that could represent dynamic happenings with people involved.
1th workquestion: How does color, size and shape infuence an atmosphere/feeling?
method: Silkscreenprinting with the following shapes:
FIRST LIST OF QUESTIONS
- Is abstraction important? - are feelings ever real? - is our experience of reality universal? - when I see red, do you then see the same red? - are there colors you can combine that create a lot of diverse universal ideals, like the yellow white, blue black dress? - does an atmosphere needs a physical space? - which words can you use to describe feelings? - is it important to know how you feel? - can you learn to like something? - has liking to do with who you are or what you have experienced in your life?
DEFINING THE STARTINGPOINT OF THIS LAB
Different ideas about a starting point for this research lab floated in my head. I was thinking about hardstyle, fishers on facebook, silkscreenprinting, a dreamworld and sound. When considering the topics, doing some quick research and trying to choose i found out that all these themes had some of the same elements that describe my will to make something about a theme. The thing that I find interesting is that there is a group of people doing one thing in a certain environment en with certain components while having different lives before and after that event they do together. As an example: - hardstyle lovers going to hardbass, students, construction workers, hairdressers, scientists and mothers partying together as one selection of people. With as a goal; having a good time.
Then there is this other interest in me and that is being an activist in positivism. Considering a worldwide positive attitude as the solution of problems on a small and worldwide scale. The thing I find difficult is to explain this to people who live with a negative view on most things. Because yes there is a lot of shit in the world, why then staying positive. (BECAUSE THAT MAKES LIFE BETTER AND SO THE WORLD)
I am going to experiment with manipulating feelings, creating an atmosphere and telling an ideal by using visuals and sound.
