I am 46 years old and have struggled with cystic acne since my early 20′s. I went on Accutane at the age of 23 and my skin was pretty much acne free after that, but I was left with acne scarring because I always picked to try and get rid of them. On top of that, I was a “sun worshiper” and the damage from years of being in the sun unprotected started to show as I approached my 30′s, so on top of acne scarring I also had a lot of dark spots. When I was 33 I decided to try IPL treatments. The cost was $350 per treatment and it pretty much felt as if someone was snapping an elastic band on my face continually.
