Contrarian hates feeling helpless. His attitude is a direct result of wanting to take control of a narrative that will always confine its participants, and seeing through it (as much as he can), while other voices usually stay on-script. He is used to the rules, so he knows how to play the game, but when actual change happens he falters. He can’t have control over something he doesn’t know, and without control you are helpless.

✨Handful of design fun facts/details to keep in mind✨

-somewhat stiff posture (old man back hurt syndrome) and almost always leaning more to one side (hip also hurt)

-what looks like a chain around his neck is actually different textured/slick black feathers on his neck. The feathers are somewhat glossy and are laying the right layers/lengths to look like metal at a first glance even in person but it is indeed feathers

-tufts are small but very expressive

-I usually draw HEA shape different

-feathers on shoulders create an almost sleeveless/frayed tank top shape and pants are almost like frayed shorts. This is a litttle to just separate from all the coat shapes in many skeptic designs but mostly to make him almost a little ill-prepared explorer type

-scale textures are different than the other voices on his arms/legs/tail

-his bigass tail is tipped with feathers to make an almost aquatic shape but would NOT help swimming (opposite actually)

-tail is also meant to be somewhat rat like for experiments/curiosity references

-floofy chest

-tail fan is also vaguely V shaped (but far less clearly than tail of dragon like tail)

-his feathers have pockets and he always has a little journal in there but he also often carries a satchel

-face is very expressive but usually just doing his thinking squint

-mutters out loud to himself if he’s thinking too much

-spends long hours in his own room

-will forget to eat and sleep until he’s falling asleep somewhere random

-water phobia AND opposite if water proof

-eventually takes to dust baths once hunted and Smitten figure that out for him

-has sharp pointed talons and taos them on things when thinking so any table/desk/piece of furniture has little divots in them in their house wherever he stands or sits often

I used to have a British accent as a toddler! I am not British. No one in my family is British. I didn't have any British friends. ...yeah apparently watching only British cartoons will do that to an American.

Let’s see…I do aerials, specifically hoop and silks. It’s a ton of fun, but also kinda painful and serves as a good reminder that having a will isn’t a bad idea/silly

Thanks for the tag!

Hmm... I learned how to spell words like 'gray' and 'neighbor' as the British equivalents ('grey' and 'neighbour') and have a tendency to switch spellings mid-page. I've always spelt neighbour like that, though.

Initially was gonna do 13-Present since my “relationship” with 13yo me is…something I think about a decent bit actually, but decided to do me at age 10-Present instead, because 10 was a pretty impactful year for me. Like, my personality changed.

I had the world’s worst bangs and really liked twin braids for some stupid reason (my hair was a disaster lol). I was also just entering my huge dragon phase, but the dragon wings weren’t working in picrew so I tried my best to do a fox (my favorite animal at the time after dragon ofc) instead.

Now for the fun part!

Lowkey wanted to make one of those picrew chain thingies because I found this really cool picrew with the make your character and put the last song you listened to down on it
