Some pixel art of one of my OCs, Moldbert. (Any pronouns) His species has no concept of gender, they reproduce asexually through spores, and each individual is composed of multiple fungal species acting as one, with a complex mycelium network acting as the brain and other parts of the nervous system. They possess advanced regenerative abilities (unless the body is burned or deprived of vital resources for an extended period of time) this is why most of their weapons are fire and/or chemical based. The species has only existed for a couple hundred years. They were initially created artificially through a machine sent to their planet by another alien race. If you were to cut one open, you would notice their internal organs are suspended in an orange, gelatin like goop. You would also notice, however, the terrible smell. It has been described as the scent of a dead animal, with the metallic smell of pennies and warm yogurt. The taste is even worse, and provides almost no nutritional value to non fungus-based life forms. Except to many species of bacteria. Their voices resemble that of a vogon's (from the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy, of course) I have yet to come up with a name for the species or their home planet.
