Unboxing: Tokyo Otaku Mode

Boy, I haven’t shopped from this site in ages! So when I had some spending money, I decided to check out what they had. I decided to buy some stuff, especially since they had a sale going on. The order was shipped in three phases: one from Japan, one from USA, and one later on from Japan (pre-order). This one is the first one from Japan. So what did I get? Let’s dig in and find out!

ITEMS

First up is this Angelic Pretty doll case. I don’t have a BJD or any kind of doll for it yet, but I really liked it.

My plans for it is to get a Baby The Stars Shine Bright doll for it just for laughs.

The main reason why I got this was the inside. It’s not only my favorite color, but it’s based off one of their chess prints!

The description said that the chair can come out, but it is stuck really good. I’m afraid to ruin it.

Next up are the Nendoroids! This is the first one I got. As you can see it’s a Cardcaptor Sakura one.

I’m excited for this because not only is it my first nendoroid ever, but it’s of one of my favorite outfits she wares.

Here she is out of the packaging. Putting the wand in her hands was a bit of a trick since I didn’t know the head of the wand comes off.

And the back. I love how detailed it is. If I ever cosplay in this outfit, this will be a good reference.

And the second nendoroid! Yup, another Sakura one~

This one is super cute, with her expression and pose~

Here she is out of the box. I couldn’t remember how her legs were since there is plastic separating each section.

And of course the back~ The wings are so cute!

Lastly, I got this pair of earrings. They are small, but super cute~

FREE STUFF

Since I haven’t ordered from them in ages, I had no clue what to expect. So it was nice to see this sticker. It’s cute but isn’t obviously advertising their store.

I love the clear file they included even though it’s half the size they used to have.

CONCLUSION

I’m glad I placed this order. I don’t think I got free shipping for this part of the order, but it was still reasonable. I wish they had an option so that it doesn’t have to be sent registered. Unboxing: J-List/J-Box

One of those purchases I made on a whim. It mostly involves stuff that I’ve been meaning to get for the longest time. Since I had some money to spare, I thought I would get some of them~ So what did I get? Let’s dig in and find out!

ITEMS

First up, these Chibi Moon socks! They are really cute and comfortable!

There is just one design for both socks with white on the bottom.

I also got a Venus one as well!

Same deal with Chibi Moon, print on top with white on bottom.

I also picked up these scissors. Yes, that is scissors.

Here is the back of the packaging. On it, it shows how to use it.

It’s perfect for when I go to conventions because of how small it is!

Then there are these ribbon stickers that are supposed to be removable. Dunno, I got it because it’s cute.

Now for some origami paper! This one was super cute so I couldn’t pass up on it~

Here’s another one. Dunno what I think about it, I just wanted origami paper.

This one is cute. This set lets you make some Pokemon with some of the paper!

The last thing I ordered was this Pokemon coloring book.

I can’t wait to color it~ They even have a suggestion sample of what to color things!

Subscription Box: Doki Doki

I was really looking forward to March’s box as the theme was Hinamatsuri. I find it a cute holiday with dolls and all. Either way, did it live up to my expectations? Let’s dig in and find out!

Here’s the first glance I got when I first opened the box. So far so good with the design.

When I saw the items, I melted. So many cute stuff~

First up is this Neko Atsume charm. I love Ramses because I love Ancient Egypt.

This here is a bunny clip. The picture is terrible and doesn’t do the item justice. I’m sorry about that.

This month’s plushie is so cute~ I think I got Pyon Pyon. I would have been happy with either one, but I would have preferred the female one.

I think this is a cat plush or something? No clue.... All I know is that it’s cute as hell.

Snow White is low on my list of favorite Disney princesses. I was looking forward to Belle or someone else.

But the design is beautiful so I guess it’s fine.

Then there is a pencil case. I’ve grown to like this brand, but I have no clue what to do with this item.... I already have several pencil cases.

Last is the monthly Hoppe-chan!

Dear lord, the mochi motif is so cute!

Unboxing: Steam Crow

Steam Crow recently made a tote based off their Craft Goddess print. Me being the craft person I am had to get it. Sadly, they only made 25 the first time around and I missed out. But they did make something else that helped in the meantime! So what was it? Let’s dig in and find out!

ITEMS

To make up missing the tote, I got the shirt instead! I really love their shirts. Lovely quality, print is nice.

While I’m at it, I picked up this badge~ You know, for my vast collection on my Monster Scouts bag~

There are a few small prints I’ve been meaning to get but just was lazy. This is one of them. It’s a nice print that has a deep meaning to it.

Then there is this one that is just too funny to pass up~

FREE STUFF

I love when I get these post cards~ I like using them when I’m on vacation or just to give them away to friends~

Of course there was a goodie bag with a drawing on it~

Well this is something new. I don’t know what the proper term is for it, but typically you burn these for your ancestors to use in the afterlife. Might be an Asian thing.

Then there was the traditional Crow Buck~

I got a nice little collection of these thing~

I love these new figures I’ve been getting. So much more sturdy.

Buttons~ And I think I don’t have some of them~

I need to tell them I don’t need the bonus badge, but I keep forgetting. So I usually give it away.

Lately they have been giving Magic cards. Which is cool because I’ve been wanting to learn how to play.

Then there is the Monster Scouts card with code on the other side.

Lastly, is the pamphlet. I’m glad I got one as I don’t have one any more because I gave my friends my copy.

CONCLUSION

Subscription Box: Yume Twins

Okay, I might have screamed when I saw this month’s theme was Totoro. I’m a sucker for Ghibli. This box seemed like it took forever to get here for some odd reason though..... No matter, it’s here! Let’s dig in and find out what I got!

BOX

So here’s the box like always. I still miss the pastel colors of the old box.

When I opened it, this is what I saw. Such a cute drawing~

As a bonus, I also took a picture of the origami directions if you want to try it yourself!

ITEMS

First up, this adorable towel. While I would have been happy with any version they had, I love the one I have~

Ah! It’s a chicken plushie! I love chickens! It’s like it was put in the box just for me! (I named it Cloud~)

This was a nice surprise: Totoro origami paper! I love origami, so this will not be wasted on me~

Here’s the different versions they have in the packet.

Then the one item I was really excited for: Totoro origami. I can make my own Totoro! Ah!

I opened it up and there are directions and I did see some of the stuff they show on the back inside. I can’t wait to play with this!

Lastly is this little puzzle.

And here’s all the pieces. Let me tell you, it was a little tricky because you had to hold some pieces together while putting a third piece in place.

But it was well worth it.

CONCLUSION

I’m very happy with this box. Next box, I have mixed feelings for. The theme is Easter, but it’s with Gudetama. There is only so much I can take of that character. Well, if you want in on the box, here’s a link to the site!

Review Time: Midnight Tea House

As I have said time and again, I love supporting local businesses. More so if the person is in my lolita comm. This might be my third order with Midnight Tea House. I have always been satisfied every time I got something from her. With a little extra cash, I thought I would get something for my trip during Spring Break. What did I get exactly? Let’s dig in and find out!

ITEMS

First one up is the item that I wanted to get in the first place. I had this cute red and black outfit, but no hair accessories.

I remembered about these bows. So I went on and see if they were still in stock. Lucky me, they were! I really like the quality of the material of the ribbon. The white lace is a nice touch.

While I was there, I thought I would pick up these bows as well.

While I don’t have anything to go with it right now, I plan on working an outfit around it. They were just so cute to pass up!

FREE STUFF

I was surprised when I saw this! I was debating on getting this because it was so cute, but I had no clue how to coord it.

Since she was kind enough to give it to me, I can figure out at my own pace how it would work into an outfit.

CONCLUSION

So I got a lot of orders coming in practically at once. One big reason is that I won big at a casino so I went on a little spending spree. As always, there will be a review/unboxing each day~ I still have two orders to take pictures of that I just got in today, but they should be ready in a timely matter. I think I have two more orders in transit, plus a few pre-orders. One pre-order I can’t wait to share when I get it~ It is so beautiful!

So that’s what is going on lately. Sorry for all these clumped batches of reviews instead of doing it as soon as I get them. I just don’t have the time to do it that way anymore.

Review Time: Artery EGL

So this review might be a little bias as I personally know the owner. Either way, I wanted to support her while getting cute stuff at the same time. Win-win in my book! Right now, I’m trying to make this vest I have more suited for J-fashion, and some of the items in the shop is going to help! So what did I get? Let’s dig in and find out!

Oh, one more thing: my camera was being a bitch so the colors are a little off.

The first item up is called the “heart bomb” patch. The beauty of this item is that you can get it monogrammed! So I got my online name initials!

Next up is this pink (yes, pink) gummy bear patch. It’s such a cute design and lovely color.

She also sent me these stickers! (No clue if it was because she knows I like Hello Kitty or because she would send it out with all orders as I was the first order.)

There was a little thank you note as well. I love when stores do this!

CONCLUSION

I’m happy with the order~ While there is no iron-on back, that is okay. She told me she was having a hard time with it, but I kinda needed them ASAP so I didn’t care. Unboxing: J-List/J-Box

Since these two orders came in a day a part, I’m combining them in one post! They were all pre-orders, so I kinda forgot about them. Ah, I’m so excited to get into the order, let’s just dig in!

I got into Magical Girl Raising Project. I really love Snow White’s design. So when I saw this, I had to get this!

It’s an oppai mouse pad! My first one even!

I also got two Madoka play mats. Here’s the first one.

If I had to have a waifu, Madoka would be my top choice. She’s adorable and so sweet!

If I had to have a second waifu, it would be Homura. So to have both of them on the same mat makes me so happy.

Review Time: Lokisa

I ordered from Lokisa long time ago. Wasn’t too impressed since it was a mystery bag. This time around, I did things different. I got a mystery box plus a few other items I was eyeing. The reason being was that they had some special deals. So what did I get? Let’s dig in and find out!

MYSTERY BOX

There were three different types of Valentines mystery boxes: dog, cat, and panda. It was a hard choice, but the cat won out.

Here’s what it looks like when opened.

First up, a sweater! I’m so glad they had my size and it fits! It’s really nice for winter.

I also got these buttons. (I love buttons)

I think this one is adorable.

The colors look better then they are in this picture.

I think this one is my favorite out of the three~

I also got these socks!

I love the colors and the fact it’s a calico~

Lastly was this mask sheet. I really enjoyed the smell~

OTHER ITEMS

The rest of the stuff I bought was in this little package~ (I forgot they wrapped everything for Valentines.)

I got this pink (yes, it’s pink) eye patch. Dunno when I could use it, but I liked how it looked. My only problem is, it’s so simple I could have made it myself. Waste of money if you ask me unless it has a print.

This was what I was really looking forward to. I love the moon and bunnies. So this face mask is right up my alley. While the material feel cheap, I would have a hard time making it myself so I don’t mind buying it again.

BUTTONS

I got so many buttons as well. Here’s the first bunch.

The picture quality is terrible, but you get the idea. I had to get this because of what it says.

I love the pixel heart~ Sorry again about the terrible quality.

Also this “Game Over” button is perfect for the gamer in me.

They also had these Japan buttons! (Sorry for the blurry-ness)

This one is my favorite. I love cherry blossoms~

This one is nice with the koi.

The crane in this one is really lovely as well.

Third button set! I had to get all five of the Japan set just because.

Since they sell in set of three (which you pick) and they had five, I had to get a duplicate of one of them. I figure this one would be a nice one as I could give it away.

This one is so cool with the origami crane. I love making them~

Last one. No clue what it says, but I bet it say Japan (or Nippon).

FREE STUFF

Since the Lunar New Year was close to when I ordered, you could add on this for free.

They ask what year you are and this is what I got~ (Yup, I’m a snake~)

You can also pick what button you want. I wanted to get the one representing my sign.

I also this Lucky Bag for free! I was wary of it as I didn’t like the one I bough a while back.

First up is this coin purse. No clue what I can do with it. Might give it away.

Cat ears. They look nice, but I have no clue when to wear it.

I love this shirt, but it’s too small. (I got the largest size they had) I might give this to one of my friends.

CONCLUSION

While I love the stuff I ordered, I’m not too thrilled with the free lucky pack. At least it was free. I guess if I order from them, I have to buy my stuff instead of a mystery bag. Woot! I got part of my early birthday present! I ordered a Hello Kitty Instax camera on Amazon.

I’m getting it early because I’m going on a trip in a few weeks and I can use the camera on it. I figure it would be a nice way to remember it since my brother and nephew are coming in. I also just ordered some more film and a carrying case with other accessories.

Subscription Box: Doki Doki

The people who do the box recently moved to Japan. This helps with logistics it seems. Anyways, this box theme was Valentine’s! While I’m not fond of the holiday, I love the theme in general. So what was in the box? Let’s dig in and find out!

Here’s the plush for this month! I got Mango!

While I love the fruit mango, I would have preferred Berry due to the color.

There was also this cherry clip in it. I’ve been wanting to get one of these for awhile, but I just haven’t had the chance. I just wish there was two and not just one.

Okay, this pen is adorable! Look at it! It looks like chocolate!

It even has a little bite taken out of it. I don’t know what the purpose of the hole is though...

Yay for socks! And it’s even Hello Kitty socks!

I mean, how adorable are they?

Then there are these Totoro chopsticks. I love Totoro and chopsticks. I also love the color!

Okay, this candy is so good! I’m trying not to eat all of it at once! At least they are individually wrapped!

Unboxing: J-List/J-Box

This is a short review. Only one item mostly because I preordered another item with this one. I’m waiting for the other item to be released, but for the time being I’ll still do the item I got now! What is it? Let’s dig in and find out!

PACKAGING

So you can see I got a cute little water bottle. It can be used for hot and cold stuff.

Here are some basic descriptions of the functions of the bottle. At least I think that is what it says. (I need to work on my Japanese.)

Here’s the top. The box is just so cute!

BOTTLE

So I tried to capture some pictures to show every aspect I could.

I love the color and the prints on it. So cute!

I also like how the metal of the bottle doesn’t give the water a strange taste. (Bad experience with them.)

Overall, really great water bottle.

CONCLUSION

I’m glad I got this, especially since I had lost my old one. Plus, I feel like this one helps keeps it cold even longer. Either way, Perfect for the Sailor Moon fan. If you want to look into this or other items, here’s the link to their site!

This order is pretty cool. I had some spare cash so I decided to buy these two figures I’ve been eyeing. Plus I was low on my Japanese candy supply since I needed some more for when my nephew is coming over to visit. What exactly did I get? Let’s dig in and find out!

CANDY

Kompeito candy! I love this stuff! For some odd reason I thought it would be in a more sturdy plastic then it is in.

And more Neri Ame! Seriously, if you have a chance, order some! They make great party favors since you get them in packs of 10. Really fun to play with also.

FIGURES

This is the first one in the figure series. Yup! It’s Sakura from Cardcaptor Sakura!

Subscription Box: Yume Twins

I got February's box a little early again. I wasn’t too thrilled with last box, so I was hoping this month’s box was better. Did it help improve my expectations for this box? Let’s dig in and find out!

BOX

Here’s the box like always.

The first bad sign was that they gave the wrong booklet so I had no clue what exactly was supposed to be in the box before I dig in.

But you can see it looks interesting to say the least.

ITEMS

This here is Bananya. Personally, I know very little of this character except what it looks like and it’s popular.

I have to say, it’s very cute. I might have to look more into the character.

Ah! A Sumikko Gurashi item! And it’s of one of my favorite characters! It seems to be of a hook you can put on the wall. Gonna save it for when my extra room is set up.

Okay, I love Neko Atsume. I also love reusable bags that I can easily carry. This item is perfect for me!

Plus the design is adorable! Look at them~

There was also another key chain of a cat themed doughnut. It’s super cute!

I have no clue what this is except that it’s super popular. (If you know what it is, let me know.)

I actually sleep with it when my alpaca is being washed. It’s super soft!

CONCLUSION
