one thing i love about some writers is how it seems like they are made of stories.

I'm talking about those writers that, when asked why they write, they tell you how they have all this ideas and thoughts and questions and characters that they just have to put down and maybe share with others. As in they are a dam that is about to burst with ink and words and prose.

and you can see how those stories are literally parts of them, you can find traits and little information -like easter eggs- in their lines. Because they are the authors but also at the same time part of the narrative.

And, as someone who does not belong to that group, as someone whose words and stories are tools I've created to reach out and to create little capsules of time for people to get lost in, the fact that some of you are literal universes of fiction and magic is incredibly beautiful.

Neurotypical writers giving advice: Be realistic with your goals. Try to outline or write a little every day. Refill the well. Get yourself a cup of tea and write for 30 minutes until the tea is empty. Check in daily with your accountability buddies for the next three to six months.

ADHD writers giving advice: Put on a movie that matches the tone of your novel to kickstart your dopamine and get into hyperfocus, then put a song on loop on noise-cancelling headphones, livestream your writing session so you feel watched and owe someone accountability, and write as much as you can for as long as you can. Don't forget to eat, sleep or drink. Now go write that novel in 5 days.

A quick guide, written by someone completely unqualified and full of silly feelings about everything:

It's true that the world is bigger than giant and we are smaller than tiny, but if we hold hands, we will not be lost, and if we sing, the stars will listen. 

It's good to be wise but it's better to be foolish, for only the foolish believe in good and dance in the rain and sing without knowing how to, and what most call growing up is closer to growing dull. Please, be foolish. Please, be childish. That's how you know you're alive.

There is so little meaning in the world that the only meaning you should care for is the meaning you give. If someone's smile is bigger than the sun, it is. 

The world is made of simple things, which with time grow to seem complicated. If you pay attention and take them apart, you will find they are never as scary as they were made out to be. 

The only way to be truly wrong is to assume evil and ill intent. The rest is open to artistic interpretation, no matter what the grown-ups say. 

Have fun. Despite everything, have fun. There's no telling what you're here for, but it's as good a guess as any to say you're here to enjoy the show. The stars must be dancing for someone.
