Updates for both blogs & moving forward
Whoops, I missed making a May announcement.
Hello, everyone! Rubia Ryu the Royal Pomeranian here. I'm back with some updates about the future of these two blogs, this one and my main @gyakutengagotoku .
If you haven't been keeping up, I've finished my FF7 megafic last month and am currently working on a follow-up lore guide because I wrote too much to remember. But given that I've run into a few snags and that I am still teaching myself how to draw my own fanart for it, it will take a little longer (citation needed) before I am ready to post anything.
Likewise, I will try to do something about that "FF7CR Abridged" fic I started a while back, but it may be some more time before I update it. Expect to check back here for more updates on it. I won't delete the whole entry, but I suggest downloading it if you want because I will be giving it a complete overhaul when I get to it.
In the meantime, I have a few major announcements. Moving forward, I will no longer be posting original works on AO3 and by the end of this week (next Sunday) I will be deleting my original work Ruby: Gift of the Dogs from the list. The reason is two-fold: (a) I hope to eventually write and professionally publish my originals and leaving an unfinished draft on AO3, even if the final product will be vastly different, would be improper I think, and (b) AO3 doesn't allow monetization of any form, not even links to Patreon. That said, I don't want to paywall it. I may provide some chapters for free on here or elsewhere if anyone has recommendations, while the drafting process updates and early releases will be on Patreon. The point is not to make money; it's to test the waters to see what can be a workable setup for self-publishing. I'm new to this, so if anyone has better ideas, I'm all ears.
Next, I must apologize, but I will not be open to writing commissions at this time. I already have my plate full with my own projects.
And lastly, while I am not reopening translation commissions, I am still open to questions about Japanese and some small translation requests, so if you have a short snippet for me to read (please, no full-page articles or interviews), I can provide a quick translation for free.
Further updates to the main blog will be posted on the main blog. I will reblog this on there too.
