Welp, I’ve found a new favorite piece to add to the Sam Starbuck Art Institute Tour. 

[Description: A stoneware sculpture designed by Emmanuel Fremiet; the sculpture is a marbled plinth, straddled by what appears to be an extremely muscular frog’s body. Emerging from the frog’s shoulders are a pair of bat wings, and instead of a frog head it has the neck and head of a pelican, with the neck bent back so that the pelican’s beak rests on its breast. Every aspect of the image is more unsettling than the last.]
