<==To Be Continued... in an unofficial, psuedo-canonical epilogue novel. Ah well, at least Furman wrote it.
So, Liege Maximo is finally part of my collection, in all his Dark Age Of Comic Books glory. I got tired of constantly driving to different Targets in the hopes that one of them had him in stock (I have a Red Card as well as an employee discount), and I really didn't want another Earthrise Quintesson or Siege Greenlight situation, so I ended up just ordering him off the Walmart app. Free shipping, and only $55 instead of the usual $60.
Nexus Prime was a travesty of a figure, that I ended up kind of liking in spite of that travesty. In contrast, Maximo is a great figure, that I genuinely like because of that greatness. Sure, the horns aren't connected to his head, and he doesn't quite look like a Cyberdemon anymore (good for him, because Doomguy is part of my collection), but this is very much the toy that I wanted Maximo to get. They only thing I don't quite like is the chunky blaster; I'm sure collectors who missed when Transformers had the big missile launchers will be tickled pink by this accessory, but I could honestly take it or leave it. It's not really a deal-breaker or a "this figure would be perfect except for X" thing, it's just that I wouldn't mind if they left it out, and had another way to store his Darts.
So, this comic was made in my room, using black backgrounds that came with one of my lightboxes. I just shut off the lights and drew the curtains almost all the way to get the darker lighting (also, I fiddled with the exposure in GIMP)
BTW, I've seen the new Sentinel Prime set. He's okay, I'm not as bothered about the alt mode, but I'm not interested in the figure and I don't particularly care for the Conduit. Frankly, if I want a display base for the Artifacts, I'll try my luck on Etsy (also, I don't have the AOTP versions of Vector or the Fallen, so I wouldn't be able to complete it anyway).
So, in two weeks from Saturday, on June 13th, I'll be going to a huge Toy Show at Farpoint Toys and Collectibles. If I get something cool there, expect another ALO review at some point (although, there are three things I'm already working on reviews for already...)
This is a reference to Maximo's first appearance on the final page of the Transformers Generation 2 comic series, though done in my own multi-page style. I've also included a one-page version attached below - it's not a one-to-one recreation but it's closer to how the comic did the scene.
