"So. That’s what little Red is going to do? Walk away?" The man spoke, rising as she stepped away. To some extent, he pitied her. Was she too scared to stand against them? Why wouldn’t she respond? Perhaps she never loved her sister enough.
"You’re just going to let them get away with this!? Let them imprison your sister and not have to pay for it?" His hand rose as the rant continued, tossing the cigar to the ground and stepping on it. Perhaps she needed a bit of yelling to be convinced. He could simply subdue her with what of the White Fang remained, but situations like these called for a more verbal approach.
"I can help you free her, Red. I can help you get rid of the idiots who sit in those self-glorified chairs and make sure they never do this again.” He pleaded for her to listen, falsified or not. He’d do whatever necessary to get her attention. To have her aid. Not for her sake. Never for someone like her. However, they shared a similar goal now. They both wanted something that could only be granted through the toppling of the government. And desperate times called for… desperate measures. Wouldn’t she understand that? That he needed her, and that she needed him?
"I can offer you resources. Aid and help from… what remains of the White Fang." Pussycat had gripped the reigns of the Fang several years ago, reforming it into the peaceful rights movement it once was. She disappeared, however, much to his advantage. Those of the White Fang that didn’t catch the memo remained with him, and aided in the here and there bombings, assassinations, and attacks across Remnant. At this point a war was out of the question, but there were still enough supporters to leave several terrorist cells across the world.
Just had to make due for now.
“You can’t do it alone, Red! You need a new team.”
Ruby glanced at Roman and then at the ground, collapsing to her knees. She was tired of this, of people leaving, of people pressuring her to do things. Do the right thing. Do the wrong thing. The Huntress just wanted to do what she wanted to do for once.
"Just go away..." she growled, "I don't need a new team..." Ruby glared up at the ginger and yelled, "I don't need anyone!" Tears streamed down her face as she grabbed a fistful of her hair. The sniper scythe wielder glanced at the ground again as she rocked back and forth. "I just want to be alone... I just need Zwei..." she sobbed.
It wasn't that Ruby was too scared to rebel or too loyal to turn against the government. She was a fearless Huntress. She had just been screwed over by the higher ups. Fear and loyalty were the last things she felt at the moment. It wasn't even that she didn't love Yang. She loved Yang very much; there was no question.
Ruby just couldn't deal with the stress anymore. She needed time alone to straighten her thoughts out. She needed to collect herself after the past few months of friends and family going AWOL and her sister being jailed. The RWBY team leader just needed some sort of break from this. "I'm resigning as a Huntress..." she mumbled, "I can't do it anymore... I can't fight for people who won't fight for me..."
