But people in la don't get a chance to shine as much either? Cuz their comps are so tough

There are so many competitions in the continental states, especially out west, why would you use the time and money to go all the way to Hawaii just to compete a solo? It may be hurting me a bit more because my family is definitely not well off financially, but look at the schedule. How many of those same dancers have gone to multiple BTF competitions this season? How many of them have gone to multiple non-BTF competitions without their studio this season just to compete their solos? Is it really worth it?

^^^ and “a chance to shine” does not equate to winning, your chance to shine is when you’re up on that stage with LOCAL and regional talent, that’s the whole fucking point of them having more than one location, you compete with the LOCAL talent and then go to NATIONALS to compete with NATIONAL talent??? if you are not getting the “chance to shine” in LA bc the comp is too tough that is complete and utter bullshit. stop putting “shining” and “slaying” with placing top 3 at a competition. you came, you danced, you “lost” so now it’s time to return to the studio and do it all again. the issue is now these people are like nah “let’s fly to iceland to compete in this 15 people competition to get your self esteem up with a new solo!!!!”

these “elites” get 2 minutes to shine at 16 different competitions, meanwhile these children in honolulu and puerto rico probably only get that one competition you decide to enter your number in just to get some wins under your belt. it’s ridiculous, they have become an invasive species, it seems every competition held under BTF there is a specific kid from one of these studios competing a new solo for whatever reason, as if training in the studio is just not enough for them anymore they must aggressively follow a traveling competition and compete every weekend.

Exactly! It’s gotten to the point at BTF that it should be as soon as you place with your solo you can’t compete again for the season to give the rest of the kids a chance. It would cut down on the ties and put these dancers back in the studio to work on their training so that they can improve and not have to rely on so many competitions to win. If you watched the competition last night it was just so much fun for everyone involved, I could tell. It wasn’t super duper serious. Why would you invade their rare opportunity for the community to come together and have an awesome weekend together supporting each other?

there are some Insta accounts that are dragging Kelly and Diane pent for posting throwbacks with maddie in them saying that they want to latch on to her fame but like.... they knew and loved maddie BEFORE she was famous and they never denied that their kids were friends with her for most of their childhood so I don't see how they would gain any fame by posting these photos?? also when Kelly left she never had any issue with maddie her issues were with ABBY and Melissa so

I wonder if these people realize that these girls from the ALDC were real people before dance Moms. Not to mention, the ALDC was a studio before dance Moms.The fact of the matter is, Maddie isn’t doing anything right now that she wasn’t doing last year (not that she is plateauing or anything it’s just that she is at the same level of fame) so if Kelly and Diane were fame fishing, they would have done it much sooner. Friends post throwbacks all the time and it shouldn’t matter if one or two of the girls in the picture happen to be of relative fame or not. Celebs are people too; they’re not trapped behind some glass case that should keep them from doing and experiencing things regular people experience.

let’s also point out: 1) it’s not a picture of JUST maddie so it’s not really weird 2) if there was a problem, maddie wouldn’t have commented on the post, but as she did, it’s fairly safe to say they are all at a point where they have a degree of civility or even friendship if i’m reaching a bit why do people create a problem about anything these days smh

SO TRUE. Like that pisses me off how people will literally look for any excuse to make anyone look like their leaching off of Maddie’s fame.

Another thing to point out, those three girls were very good friends. Maddie, Chloe, and Paige all danced together from a young age and spent a lot of time together. So it would make sense that a lot of their throwback pics will have Maddie in them. Especially dance photos! Why go out of the way to sort through and find one that doesn’t have Maddie in it?
